Calling Oracle Workflow in Real-Time

I want to modify the logic in Oracle Apps (both Oracle self-service (pure HTML and JSP) and Oracle Forms applications) to make real-time calls to a mainframe system. The page needs to take different actions depending on the data from the mainframe system.
I want to avoid actually customizing the Apps and Forms pages if possible due to customization maintenance and support issues. I have been told that I can use Oracle Workflow to modify the actions of the pages without having to resort to customizations, as calls to Workflow are already embedded. Is this true, and if so, how would I go about inserting a call to a mainframe system?
I am considering mainframe calls using either a proprietary ODBC driver from a third-party vendor, or devising some sort of SOA interface to the mainframe (I know it would require custom development on the mainframe side).
Thanks!

I'm pretty sure the sbRIO cards only have 1 FPGA on them.  So when you load the second FPGA code, the first is being overwritten.  You need to make a single FPGA VI that can handle both functions.  If you post your code, we can give more detailed advice.

  • Can Oracle run in real time OS(such as PSOS) and communicate with data server by OCI?

    Hi, all!
i have a question to get your help! now my oracle client running in SUN solaris communicate with oracle data server by OCI(oracle call interface). In future, my client system will port to embeded system that will use real time OS, such as PSOS, so i'm afraid that is OCI communicating with data server ok in PSOS environment??? Is there a special driver or OCI lib for PSOS?
    thanks very much!!!
    null

I have no idea which platforms the Oracle client has been ported to. If there exists an Oracle client for PSOS, then you should have no problem with OCI there. If there's no Oracle client for PSOS, then you won't be able to make OCI calls.
Regardless, this probably is a question better addressed to Oracle sales rather than to an ODBC forum.

  • Oracle Data Integrator - Real Time Integration

    Hi,
I want to know that, is there any possibility of integrating data in real-time using Oracle Data Integrator?
If yes, does it affect the OLTP system performance? (Could it read from db logs,etc..)
    Thanks..

Using ODI with Logminer-based CDC will affect performance on the source system more than using Oracle Goldengate, let me explain why:
When using the ODI Logminer-based Journalisation the Logminer functionality will move the primary-key of the affected row into the journal table. When you are then ready to move the changed data, running an interface to move the data reads the Journal-view, which joins the journal table (primary keys) to the source data (and dealing with deleted rows), optimising out duplicate rows in order to bring across the then-current state of the data, which can then be loaded into the target system, on completion, the moved rows can be removed from the journal table. The data will appear in the journal table as soon as Logminer puts it there, which may be a lag of up to two minutes using asynchronous setting, whereas Synchronous Logminer applies "system triggers to the table, with the consequent overhead.
With Oracle Goldengate, the comitted transactions are read from the log as soon as the log-writer puts the commit into the log. All the data is picked up from the log, at that point. It is then written to the trail-file system of Oracle Goldengate which can be propogated to multiple other systems potentially with sub-second latency, and minimal impact on the source system due to the efficient reading and writing mechanisms. One other consequence of using Oracle Goldengate is that you get every change of the data, not the optimised then-current state of the data when moved.
    Hope this explanation helps.

  • Oracle reports in real time?

can any one brief me about the kind of oracle reports do they generate in real time?i.e d2k reports . . iam facing tough to answer these questions in interview?can anyone examples abt use of it in real time?

at my work i use dev suite 10g on windows, and the application server is also on windows.
i compile the fmb into an fmx directly in forms builder. open the form in forms builder and the option is in program->compile module on the menu.
there is also frmcmp which you can run, which can also compile the fmb.
once i have the fmx i just copy it to the server into the directory where our forms expects it to be (you can see that in the forms server configuration - FORMS_PATH)
as for the reports, we're still a throwback to the the good old days, so all our reports are still in .rdf format. this does not need any compiling as the reports server will do that when it is executed. so like the .fmx, i just copy it to the directory where our reports server expects it (again you can see this in the reports server configuration - REPORTS_PATH)
we're just a small shop, so there are probably better ways to do this, but that's how we do it. be happy to hear how others do it...

  • Calling 2 FPGA in Real-Time VI

Im using an sbRIO and I have 2 FPGA in it. I program both to open in real time. FPGA 1 is regarding getting data from analog signal and FPGA 2 is sending PWM. If these 2 are seperated, I have no problem opening them in real time. When I combine them together in a single real time VI, only FPGA 2 is working. FPGA 1, which supposedly shows values in charts is just totally empty!
Question is, how do I integrate both FPGAs in a single real time VI? Will combining the codes in FPGA screw up the timing?

I'm pretty sure the sbRIO cards only have 1 FPGA on them.  So when you load the second FPGA code, the first is being overwritten.  You need to make a single FPGA VI that can handle both functions.  If you post your code, we can give more detailed advice.

  • HD WorkFlow, Having Real Time Issues

Hey I've captured 422 ProRess, I need to know is there a quicker way of working with it in realtime Mulitclip editing, other than conforming back down to HDV. I'm experiencing a lot of dropped frame issues.
In HDV I could cut realtime mutlclips but now that I've online with ProRess My system acts like it can't handle it which is nutz, I've got a killer system. I thought the proRess codec was suppose to be better than the HDV for this reason. Any workflow solutions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    J.

What sort of drives is your media stored on? ProRes has a MUCH higher data rate than HDV. HDV is in the ballpark of 4MB/s, whereas ProRes is between 18MB/s and 24Mb/s. Getting multiple streams of HDV for multicam shouldn't be too difficult, but getting the same for ProRes...multiple streams? You need a pretty hefty RAID for this. Two Drive eSATA Raid 0 might work. Better to have a 4-5 drive Raid 0 or Raid 5. ProRes is lighter than Uncompressed HD, but more taxing than HDV...and again, you are trying to play back multiple streams when you are using the Multicam feature.

  • Oracle fail safe real time users

    hello,
Please let me know about some oracle fail safe users
    Thanks in Advance,

    Edited by: user10911629 on Jun 2, 2009 1:51 AM

    hi rahul,
i think i have sent you some links and documents for oracle fail safe case studies...haven't they of any use?
you can refer oracle docs and can raise the SR with oracle support if you come across any issue and disaster recovery situation....
please check the documents i have given to you
and rather looking for customer case studies you should look for oracle fail safe specific doc as it is recommended by oracle, client or customer may adjust oracle fail safe architecture according to their environment, but oracle docs insist you to make environment required for oracle fail safe.
have a look for this oracle case study

  • Error "cannot load request real time data targets" for new cube in BI 7.

    Hi All,
WE have recently upgarded our SCM system from 4.1 to SCM 7.0 which incorporated BI 7.0.
I am using BI 7.0 for first time and ahve the following issue:
I ceated a new infocube and data source of flat file and succesfully created transformation, and Data Transfer Process. Everything looked fine. I added flat file and checked preview and could see data. Now when I start job to load data in infocube the follwing error is shown "cannot load request real time data targets".
I checked cube type in setting in infcune is shows as Standard.  When I doube clicked on error the following message showed up
You are trying to load data into a real-time InfoCube using a DTP.
This is only possible if the correct load settings have been defined for the InfoCube.
    Procedure
In the object tree of the Data Warehousing Workbench, call Load Behavior of Real-Time InfoCube from the context menu of the InfoCube. Switch load behavior to Transactional InfoCube can be loaded; planning not allowed.
I did not understand what it is meant and how to set changes. Can someone advice and follow me through.
    Thanks
    KV

    Hi Kverma,
Real-time InfoCubes can be filled with data using two different methods: using the transaction for entering planning data, and using BI staging, whereby planning data cannot be loaded simultaneously. With Real time cube you can select the method you want to use for update as
Real Time data Target can be loaded With Data; Planning not allowed &
Real Time data Target can be Planned; Data loading not allowed
You can change this behaviour by right clicking on cube and selecting Change real time load behaviour and select first option. You will be able to load the data then

  • Real-time database or non real-time database

I know the scheduling mechanism in Oracle database is somewhat like the Linux OS which is not real-time. Does Oracle provide real-time database which has some real-time scheduling guaranteeing each user transaction to meet with a deadline ? Thx a lot.

The Berkley DB that Oracle owns has been ported to QNX which is a real-time operating system.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/ref/build_unix/qnx.html
Why, out of curiosity, are you looking into Oracle for a real-time system? That implies that you're running a real-time operating system on your servers, which is certainly unusual. I've heard of some ports of 9i to real-time operating systems, but that would certainly be unusual.

  • About DTP with real-time access.

    Hello Gurus,
setting for error handling only has an impact while repairing a DTP request (repair) and during the conversion of the DTP to standard DTP (for example, to correct an error during extraction).
will you please give a simpel scenario to explain above words?
    thank you very much.
    Fran

    Hi,
    Use :
With SAP NetWeaver 7.0, SPS 14, the following changes and enhancements are available for real-time data acquisition:
    ●      Changes to the menu and the context menu of the monitor for real-time data acquisition
The menu and the context menus for the individual objects in the monitor for real-time data acquisition have been standardized and enhanced. In particular, it is now possible to assign daemons and data transfer processes on various levels using context menu entries. For a complete overview of the functions in the menu and in the context menus, see Monitor for Real-Time Data Acquisition.
    ●      Assignment of daemons for InfoPackages and data transfer processes (DTP)
To assign InfoPackages and data transfer processes to a daemon, you can call the monitor for real-time data acquisition in the following ways:
    ○       In the Data Warehousing Workbench using the respective context menu entry Assign RDA Daemon.
    ○       In InfoPackage maintenance using the Schedule tab page, and in data transfer process maintenance using the Execute tab page.
The button names for jumping to the monitor for real-time data acquisition have changed here. To jump to the monitor, choose Assign Daemon.
    ●      Repair process chains for repairing a broken data transfer or a missing delta in the DataStore object
In certain situations, a gap in the delta of the DataStore object can occur if there is a closed request in the PSA but there is no corresponding request in the DataStore object. For example, this is the case if a DTP request has terminated due to an error in the transformation. Here, you can create a repair process chain to repair a missing or broken update from the PSA. The repair process chain contains a standard DTP as well as any further processes required for subsequent processing (such as activating the data in the DataStore object or subsequent process chains). When the repair process chain is executed, the complete delta is loaded from the source into the DataStore object and processes for activation and further processing are executed if required.
    ●      Process types for starting and stopping real-time data acquisition
You can use process chains to control real-time data acquisition using process types Start Real-Time Data Acquisition (RDA) Load Process and Stop Real-Time Data Acquisition (RDA) Load Process.

  • Export journalized data in real time

    Hello,
I must pull journalized data in real time out of Oracle DB source.
my package has ODIWaiForData operator and interface which triggers only in case of Journalized Data in my source table. Interface loads data to target Oracle table in real time and it works.
Is it possible to send Journalized Data out of Oracle database in real time? Maybe some insert/update statements within sql file, csv file or through ODIOSCommand operator somehow?

  • How to install oracle workflow on my desktop?

i am having oracle 9i in my machine. i want to install oracle workflow. kindly tell me how to install or provide me with the link where installation has been explained.please let me know where i will find that documen?t
    thanks.

There are two major components to install in Oracle Workflow.
    1. Workflow Client - Otherwise called Oracle Workflow Builder, this is a windows based tool to design and develop your workflow process. This tool is the developer's tool for transforming the business process into a workflow process. The process definition can be stored to filesystem as a file with .wft extension or directly to a database where workflow server is installed.
    2. Workflow Server - Workflow engine that executes the workflow process designed using the workflow builder above. The workflow process designed above is loaded into the workflow server either from the builder directly by connecting to the workflow server schema or using the workflow definitions loader which is a command line utility that reads the .wft file.
    Installation
    1. You may install the Workflow Builder 2.6.2 downloadable from OTN on your PC. This needs an appropriate Oracle Home using which the builder is built by Oracle. I believe 2.6.2 can be installed into a 9i home. It is better that you install the builder into a new Oracle Home and not use any existing homes.
    2. Workflow Server 2.6.2 is shipped with Oracle Database 9iR2. In the additional or optional components (not sure about the exact words) section of your 9iR2 CD you can find Oracle Workflow 2.6.2 that provides the workflow server. You may install this into the existing Oracle Database 9iR2 Oracle home. After installing oracle workflow server you should run the Workflow Configuration Assistant to create the workflow schema in the database and create the required objects in the schema in order for the Workflow Engine to be become operational.
In summary, installation of Workflow Server has two phases.
o Install Oracle Workflow to 9iR2 home.
o Run Workflow Configuration Assistant to configure the workflow server
Once the Workflow Configuration Assistant is run successfully, you need to set up the PLSQL DAD (Database Access Descriptor) to access workflow home page using the Apache server that comes bundled with Oracle Database 9iR2.
Please refer to Oracle Workflow 2.6.2 installation document for more information.

  • Oracle JRockit Real Time 3.1.2 and weblogic?

http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jrockit/index.html". I go to the website, and find a software called: Oracle JRockit Real Time 3.1.2 for windows 64 bit. My question is: In order to let weblogic 9.2 works in windows 2003 R2 64 bit machine, SHOULD I MUST DOWNLOAD "Oracle JRockit Real Time 3.1.2 for windows 64 bit"? Or I don't need to download anything? Actually, I just download a file called jdk-6u18-windows-x64.exe. Please clear my question, thanks! One more thing, what is the functionality for Oracle JRockit Real Time 3.1.2? Is it a kind of JRE ?

    Hi,
For more information on JRocket Real Time have a read of :- http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jrockit/jrrt/index.html
As far as I am aware you don't have to install the real time product you can installl the JRockit JVM and use that with Weblogic, I think newer version of JRocket come bundled with Real Time which is the JVM and monitoring and analysis tools. There are still standalone JRocket JVM installs available, you can get them from oracle edelivery.
JRocket is a JVM but optimized for use with Weblogic, so you should get better overall performance.

  • File not found when trying to call a dll on LabVIEW Real Time machine

I have a dll called "DLLRTTEST" that I've written, and have succesfully called on my host machine.  I'm now attempting to call this dll from a vi that is located on my real time computer.  Currently I get an "Error 7 occurred at Call Library Function Node in DLLRTTEST.vi." message upon execution
In the attached screenshot I'm trying to ensure that the vi I'm running is in fact located on the real time system.  I then use a "Check if File or Folder Exists.vi" to confirm that the dll that I'm about to call does exist on the real time system as well.  However, I still receive an "error 7 file not found" error from the Call Library Function Node.
    Any help is appreciated.

As nathand already mentioned, depending on your C toolchain your DLL will depend on other DLLs. Usually the according msvcrtXX.dll that matches your Visual C version, if you use Visual C, other runtime DLLs if you use a different C environment. These runtime DLLs are even necessary if you do not call anything in any of your functions, since the DLL makes various initialization steps when it gets loaded and that references some C runtime functions nevertheless. Compiling and linking the DLL with static C runtime is usually also not a clean solution since the linked in C runtime will then reference Windows APIs that are not available on LabVIEW RT.
Depending on your version of LabVIEW RT you will have some mscvrtxx.dll files in your system directory but it will be an older one than from the latest Visual Studio version. If you can compile your DLL with that Visual Studio version then you should be fine, but could possibly run into new problems if you later upgrade to a newer LabVIEW RT version. Installing the C runtime distributables from newer Visual Studio versions is unfortunately also not a solution, since it references many (undocumented) Windows API functions that are not available in LabVIEW RT.
