Camera slow

Hi community,
(iPhone 4 16GB - IOS 5 and IOS 6)
I have a problem with the camera.
The camera app is really slow. It takes sometimes up to 10 seconds to open the app and another 5 seconds to take a picture.
I have resetted my iPhone (from backup) and I cleared everything (without restore from backup) and it still remains slow.
Any ideas?

If it's under warranty , U have to replace it or ther's a problem with you'r phone camera!!

  • Camera slowing down to 4 FPS

    Hello everyone,
    I have a problem with the camera slowing down in my project.
    I thought it could be because of the complexity and memory
    consumtion of this work, so I created a completely new movie, typed
    such code:
    quote:
    var camera:Camera = Camera.getCamera();
    var video = new Video(camera.width, camera.height);
    video.attachCamera(camera);
    addChild(video);
    function onEnterFrame(event:Event):void
    trace(camera.currentFPS);
    addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, onEnterFrame);
    Despite there was nothing else done than just displaying the
    captured video, the camera fps was still slowing donw (however it
    was much lengthened in time than in the complex project), but
    ultimately I also finished with 4fps. So I came up with an idea to
    check if there is a connection between the memory usage and the
    camera fps. So I changed the code a little bit and got:
    quote:
    var camera:Camera = Camera.getCamera();
    var video = new Video(camera.width, camera.height);
    video.attachCamera(camera);
    addChild(video);
    function onEnterFrame(event:Event):void
    trace(camera.currentFPS + " / " + System.totalMemory);
    addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, onEnterFrame);
    And... this time the camera's fps stayed 25fps all the time.
    To be honest - I really don't know why :| I mean, I'm happy the fps
    stayed stabily at the level, but I don't know what to do in the
    mentioned, complex, project to make the fps faster. I can't just
    add the trace line ;)
    For any questions here are some details about my project:
    PC: Core 2 Extreme Quadro 2,66 GHz, 2.0Gb RAM, EVGA GeForce
    8800 Ultra
    Flash used: CS4
    Tested on cameras: Canon MV 450i Digital Camera and an
    ordinary USB webcam (both the same effect)
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    I'm pretty sure my iSight webcam supports 30 fps as I can record very smooth videos using youTube's webcam page, but even when my camera records at higher rate for example when there is more light in the room and fps goes up to 25 still netStream.currentFPS remains below 15, so the recorded video still has lots of dropped frames. I can't figure out why netStream.currentFPS never goes higher than 15. Perhaps I should decreae the number of keyframes in the video to reduce byte load...

  • Basler camera slow to open session

    I have 5 Basler scA1390-17gm cameras that were purchased at the same time. Four of them behave nicely, but one is very slow to establish a session. I have checked the IP configuration and that all seems fine. MAC finds the camera and puts it on the listm but every time it is selected in MAX or every time a vi opens a session to it, the delay is about 20-30 seconds. All of the other cameras open sessions within a second. Once the session is opened the camera can be triggered and read just fine. Is there some configuration problem that could cause this delay?

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Richard,
    One possibility is that the cameras have different firmware versions with different GenICam XML files. It is a known issue that the Basler XML files have grown considerably in size/complexity with each firmware release as they add new functionality. The GenApi component that parses these XML files had some scaling issues that meant it got considerably slower as these files became more complex.
    You could confirm if this is the case by looking at the Camea Attributes tab in MAX and finding the "Primary URL String" feature under the Camera Information section (you need to select All Attributes from the filtering). Look at the URL strings between the fast and slow cameras and see if they point to the same file name.
    Assuming this is the issue, the best solution would be to consider updating IMAQdx to the latest version just released. This version uses an updated GenApi component that has had considerable speed increases implemented in XML loading. Even on the larger XML files it is quite fast. You can grab this as part of Vision Acquisition 2012 here: http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2975/lang/en

  • Macbook Pro camera slow/laggy?

    I have a relatively new Macbook Pro Model A1398 Mid 2014 and the built in camera is very slow and lags. For example, if I wave my hand over the camera, I could see the slow movement of my hand and even after I finish waving, on the screen, I would still be mid-wave. Basically, it 's just really delayed and slow.
    I'm a kid when it comes to this it would really help if you could help me by answering with more common words and easy to follow steps.
    Thanks!

  • Camera slow... :( (N95)

    I have recently updated my phone and downloded a few programs onto it.
    However the camera seems to be very slow, even more than normal.
    Is there a faster program of setting that wll make taking a photo faster? I mean a phone with a 5mp camera should at least be able to take a photo in less that about 20 seconds right?
    cheers

    The latest software version that is available to you with that product code is 11.0.026
    If you have that, and are still getting the same problem, then it might be a case of waiting until your network authorises the new update (some networks can take a while to authorise) or take it to a repair centre to get them to make sure its not a hardware fault.

  • 7390 slow camera, slow bluetooth?

    I just bought a new Nokia 7390.
    A few things about the phone really bother me:
    - The camera is really slow. After taking a picture it takes several seconds before I can take another picture.
    - Transferring data (ie mp3 files) takes forever by bluetooth. My bluetooth dongle (Sweex) should connect about 3Mbit/second, but a 4 Megabyte (32 Megabit) mp3-file takes over a minute to transfer, in theory this should take like 11 seconds.
    According to the Nokia website there is no new firmware available. Does anybody know what I can do to fix these 2 issues?

    I´m afraid, nothing. Is the way it is.

  • FaceTime/iSight Camera Slow

    I've recently updated to Yosemite.  Since, I found issues with the FaceTime/iSight camera running slow, is really the best way I could describe it.  Glitchy uneven video quality.  Camera seems to be working fine on my iMac.  Updated to Yosemite at the same time.

    Sorry - but for some reason your photo isn't being displayed - you can attach one to your message by using the little camera icon at the top of the composition bar.
    AFAIK, there's no real way to 'tweak' the FaceTime camera settings, You could see if it is specific to your user account to rule out most software glitches by creating a new account (unless you already have one) and logging into the new account to check the camera again.
    Never had a problem with the ATD camera - works very well for me.

  • Leopard & Sony DSC T50 Camera - Slow Import of Photos

    I have a Sony DSC T50 Camera and a Powerbook G4 running Leopard.
    Under Tiger, importing photos from my camera was fast and easy.
    Under Leopard, the function is so degraded as to be unusable.
    20 minutes to rully ready the contents of the Memory Stick Pro Duo.
    40 seconds per 800K image to import the photo using Image Capture.
    After wiatinf forever, the transfer from Image Capture in iPhoto is quick and works just as it did under Tiger. It's the download that is the problem.
    Same camera, same computer hardware; it worked great under Tiger, it doesn't work under Leopard.
    Anyone else having similar problems?

    First - I suggest posting this in the iPhoto forum - that is where the iPhoto gurus hang out - http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=227
    Second have you tried capturing the photos using image capture (in your applications folder) instead of using iPhoto?
    Third if that does not help purchase an inexpensive media card reader and try it - that will save wear and tear on your camera and eliminate the possibility of running out of battery while downloading which can corrupt things

  • Gige Camera slow initialization

     I 'm using a Aviiva EM1 GigE camera with Labview 2011. I insalled the latest Imaqdx driver. I can acquire without problems images. However the initialization of the camera takes about 38 sec with Max or Imaqdx Open. When using Gevplayer (Pleora) it takes only 10 seconds. What can I do to speed up the initialzation in Labview ?
    Regards

    Hey,
    how about your network settings and all. have you enabled Jumbo frames? If yes, then there must be an incompatiblity of both ev2 and LabVIEW.

  • Migrated Word now wants to connect to scanner and camera - slows launch

    I have a new MBA, running the latest 10.6. I have migrated my apps and am checking each -- so far, so good, until I came to MS Word (2004).
    When I open any .doc (or simply launch Word) it takes a l-o-o-o-o-n-g time, then puts up a dialog box that says "Unable to connect to scanner or camera. Check the connection and reinstall driver if necessary."
    I don't have a connected camera or scanner!?!?! I've looked for some setting in Word (or in the OS) that would make this system think that it should look for a scanner but, so far, have not spotted what could be causing this. (Word's Help was not very Helpful.)
    A couple of threads here suggest, to get an unrecognized scanner to be detected, going to [Word] Insert/Picture and then selecting the "From scanner or camera..." option. That is supposed to "jog" Word into bringing up a "Devices" list which can then be used to fix the settings. When I try this, nothing happens (no doubt because of the state that Word is in, due to its non-detected scanner/camera situation).
    How can I get Word to stop looking for a scanner/camera device on launch?

    baltwo wrote:
    Move the com.microsoft.Word.plist to the Desktop from your Preferences folder, restart, and launch Work '04. That should do the trick. If so, move the deleted file and reset your Word prefs. Works here.
    That was a great suggestion. Sadly, it didn't make the message go away. ;-<
    I even tried a couple of other things, while I was in that Preferences folder, on subsequent restarts (each):
    .. copied over the com.microsoft.Word.plist file from the Mini (which is also running 10.6 and which was the source of this copy of Word);
    .. copied over (replaced) all the com.hp.xxx plist files (since they are most likely the suspect scanner-related objects ... from a far distant scanner, now gone)
    But none of these make a difference -- Word still gives the error message on launch.
    Any other things I might try?

  • Camera slow is there solution?

    I have a creative webcam 5 i think it is and on msn it is pretty slow as in you can move and it takes a while for it to pick it up, is there a way to speed it up? I already have broadband so just wondering if theres something i should do like clean out computer or something. ThanksRegards,Matt

    I've had this behavior for some time and have reported it; you might wish to do the same here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/
    (I'd pick Lion (Mac OS X) rather than hardware since it happens with my mouse and trackpad, so I don't think it's the device)

  • 7390 secound camera & slow stream

    how do you use the camera on the inside of 7390 to take pictures? also video streaming is really rubbish im on three and have full signal but it still freezes and stops anyone know why?

    You can try updating the firmware of your phone with the Nokia Software Updater and see if that makes a difference.

  • Lumia 620 In-app Camera Slow Start Up

    Model: NOKIA Lumia 620
    OS Version: 8.0.10328.78
    Software release: Lumia Amber
    Probem Description:
    Push "Camera key", In-app Camera app start up. 4 icons appears as usual next to the Windows logo but the "Liveview" was nowhere to be seen. After 5-7 sec, the "Liveview" only appear. However by that time, the moment that I want to capture already gone.
    What is the cause of the slugglishness of the camera start up?
    Could it be:
    1) insufficient RAM?
    2) too many camera app in the phone?
    3) outdated OS?
    4) phone storage almost full?
    Please provide solution or suggestion to overcome the issue.

    Im using Nokia 525 which is 520 with 1gb ram and gdr3 black. I have same situation with you as well. Nokia camera app takes longer time to start (5-7s) compare with built-in camera app (2-4s). I will choose built-in app as default in case emergency photo shoot and manually run Nokia camera app for better customization when I am not in rush. I hope Nokia camera app can be improved soon, because this app is really awesome.

  • Camera randomly moves forward then backward

    Hey all,
    I have a camera parented to a null that is being used for this shot. The camera zooms close to the planet very quickly, and then i wanted it to approach slowly (like a coming out of warp shot). Seems easy enough.. The camera slows down at Z position =40,000. The next keyframe is set to 41,000 so that it moves slowly forward . The problem is, the camera way overshoots the keyframe value then backs down to 41k. When i look at the graph i see that it curves up, but it does that on the  first set of keyframes as well and the camera doesn't make any unwanted movements. Does anyone know what could be going on? The keyframes are easy-eased, but i tried turning that off and the camera still did this movement.

    Take a look at the path of the null you're using to drive the camera in a top view. Select the G key to select the Pen tool. Take a close look at the middle keyframe. You'll see bezier handles extending past the last keyframe. Hold down the Alt/Option key on your keybard and click on the second keyframe in the Comp panel. You'll see the Bezier handles disappear. Your bounce is not gone.
    The other option is to select the keyframe in the timeline, then right click, go to Keyframe Interpolation.
    Set Spatial Interpolation to Linear.
    Both do the same thing. I prefer the second Pen Tool>Convert Vertex method because I often want to adjust the Spatial interpolation, especially if there's a curve.
    This happens when you have a layer moving quickly, then you move forward a few frames and move the layer a little further. If you set the starting and ending keyframe first, then back up and set the middle keyframe and adjust it's position in the comp window or the change the timing in the timeline, you almost never get this problem.

  • How do you stop the camera depth of field affecting one text layer?

    Just as the heading says it really
    , i'm doing a fly through sort of thing and as the camera slows down to give the viewer time to read some text the depth of field of focus runs out and the text begfins to get a little blurry, is there a way to stop the text from being affected by camera DOF? Do i have to make the text a non-3D layer?
    thank you very mnuch in advance
    paul

    Hi, Thanks for your response,
    I could adjust the focal length on the camera to match the text but that then makes some other elements in my project change their focus, or 'blurryness'. I was just hopeing to keep the camera as it was and just make the text layer be not affected by the camera's focal length. Turn off DOP for the text type of thing. Is there such a setting? Thank you so much for your time
