Can anyone help me make sense of bootpd's log entries?
Up until recently we (at work) had a file server running Linux as our DHCP/DNS server. Once we purchased the Mac and OS X Server however, we started transitioning services over.
The last service to be moved over was DHCP, because every time I tried to use it, it would either fail to hand out addresses, or hand out dynamic addresses to static hosts. I've found the options and fixed the failing to hand out addresses issue. And most of the static hosts are now working. But we do have a networked printer that the DHCP server refuses to hand a static IP out to.
When looking in the logs, I've noticed its record is slightly different than that of most of the computers. When the computers request a lease, it looks like this:

Notice the "1," before the MAC address. When the printer requests a lease, it looks like this:

Notice the "0," before the MAC address. Also, 175 is not the address printer is supposed to be receiving.
I have not been able to find what the number before the MAC means, or if it is supplied by the device requesting the lease, or provided by the DHCP server.
I had a similar problem with some Linux clients, where the requests would look like this:

And would never get answers. I don't know what the "ff," or that other junk before the MAC address means. Changing the DHCP client and some options on those machines got it working though.
I don't think I can change the DHCP client on the printer however. So any help figuring out what the logs are saying would be appreciated. Any help getting this to work right would be greatly appreciated.

Anything beginning with "ff" that has a longish number following will be an IPv6 number. Wherever possible I would switch this off. System Preferences > Network > Built-in Ethernet > Advanced > TCP/IP. Its configured as 'Automatic' on all OSX operating systems - server and client.
Sometimes Leopard 'uses' this IP protocol to either resolve DNS queries (problematic if its OSX Server running internal DNS Services) or to acknowledge requests for IP addresses. Both Services should be using IPv4 as its primary protocol (as it did in previous versions of the OS). Perhaps apple have made this the primary protocol to be used in anticipation of general IPv6 takeup now that its been officially released although I can't confirm this. For private networks IPv6 would be overkill as there is enough scope for hundreds and thousands of nodes using IPv4.
I'm only guessing but it seems the printer has requested an IP address and the DHCP service is giving it an IPv6 address with the result that 'nothing happens'. I don't think most printers will know or care what an IPv6 address is - perhaps some do?
Generally whenever I've used the DHCP Service to accommodate networked printers I've used a static route and mapped an IP address to the printer's MAC address.

Is the English-language version available in your country's store and if so is it the same price ? Can anyone help to make those switches work between tab control
I try to use boolean control to switch between pages (tab control). But my "Goto page 1" or "Goto Page 2" stay on when it pressed. That causes back and furth between two pages all the time. I used this kind of swith with Labview 7 without problem, but when I update to labview 7.1 it causes this problem. Please help

Make sure that yo have the boxed chanced to only sync the checked music. It appears that it is trying to sync ore than those.
You can try unsycing all music and resyncing. -

hi, im tinkering with mpeg streamclip and its giving me problems because it won't open my ripped dvd files from my desktop. It keeps giving me the same message "no VOB files can be found". Can anyone help me, this doesn't make sense. I also found online that you need Apple Mpeg-2 playback component in order to use mpeg streamclip. Even though I have OS X Lion, should I download the add-on?
You need to convert the VOB files in the TS-Folder of the DVD back to DV which iMovie is designed to handle. For that you need mpegStreamclip:

Obviously the foregoing only applies to DVDs you have made yourself, or other home-made DVDs that have been given to you. It will NOT work on copy-protected commercial DVDs, which in any case would be illegal.

The installer of the MPEG-2 Playback Component may refuse to install the component in Lion. Apple states the component is unnecessary in Lion, however MPEG Streamclip still needs it.
To install the component in Lion, please download MPEG Streamclip 1.9.3b7 beta above; inside the disk image you will find the Utility MPEG2 Component Lion: use it to install the MPEG-2 Playback Component in Lion. The original installer's disk image (QuickTimeMPEG2.dmg) is required.
The current versions of MPEG Streamclip cannot take advantage of the built-in MPEG-2 functionality of Lion. For MPEG-2 files you still need to install the QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component, which is not preinstalled in Lion. You don't have to install QuickTime 7. -
i carnt hear my message tone,the sound it makes when the phone locks and opens,also i am unable to hear music when playing from my phone but my ringtone and alarm tone work.Ive made sure the silent button is not on,and the volume button on the side of the phone is just showing it blank instead of it going up and down.To try and fix this i have reset my settings and restored my phone,but now its just skipping the music i have purchased from itunes when in a docking station which is now another problem i have as well.Can anyone help????

It sounds like even though the Mute switch is not on, sounds are not making the, well, sound they should, and the volume buttons make a blank volume indicator appear on the screen that does not show the volume level.
I wanted to recommend a couple of things.
First, I would reset the phone:
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

If that does not resolve the issue, then you may want to try backing up to iTunes, and restoring the iPhone again but this time do not restore the backup and set it up as new to see if the issue persists without the previous configuration.

Hi, I forgot my user password mac 10.9.4 I don't need it to log in but i need it to make changes, etc. It says a password hasn't been set for this account but it still asks for one when i click on the lock icon. can anyone help me? thx!
This is a little confusing since you say you have forgotten your password and then the system says you have not entered a password. Even with an Admin account you must have a password to install software.
If you are using Mac OS X 10.7 or above, you can change the admin password by restarting holding the Command and R keys, from the menu bar select Utilities, then Terminal. When the Terminal window opens, at the cursor type exactly:
resetpassword
and press Enter. When the Reset Password window opens, select the internal hard drive, and then the user account. Type a new password twice, leave the Hint blank, and then Save. Accept the next dialog that opens, and at the bottom of the Reset Password window agree to resetting the home directory permissions.
Quit the Reset Password window, go to the apple left side of the menu bar, Restart.
And you have a new password for your account. -
When I want to make a phonecall with my iphone5, I hear absolutely nothing....no ringing and no talking when connection established. When I make the same call but now on speaker, no problem or what so ever, can anyone help me ?

Specifically:
Resolution
Verify that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack, including headsets, headphones, or adapters.
Make sure the Ring/Silent switch is not switched to silent.
While on the Home screen, adjust the volume buttons. If you see the icon below, indicating that headphones are attached, there may be debris or an object lodged in the headset jack:
Check the headset jack. If there is an object lodged in the headset jack that is not easily removed, have the iPhone serviced to remove object.
For Original iPhone: If there is light debris, such as lint, in the headset jack, try connecting a pair of headphones to the headset jack and then remove the headphones. Repeat this several times to remove the debris.
If you have installed a protective film on the display, either ensure that the receiver is not covered or remove the film completely.
Check the receiver mesh (which is on the top front of the device, above the display). If it appears blocked, use a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush to carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If you have paired with a Bluetooth headset that is nearby, either use the headset or turn Bluetooth off (chooseSettings > General > Bluetooth).
Restart the iPhone.
If restarting the iPhone doesn't resolve the issue, try restoring the device.
If the issue persists, go to the Service Answer Center - iPhone for information on service.

You do not need to involve Creative Cloud to install/try the trial version of CS5...
You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.
