  • Able to connect to database from SQL plus but not from Oracle SQL developer

    Hi
    I have two database editions in my system Oracle XE and Oracle EE. I am able to connect to EE database through SQL plus but not through SQL developer.Please tell me how to do it.
    All settings are good.I am able to connect to the database before installing XE.I need both for my work(different projects).
    And the default listener started is XE's.Please tell me how to change the default one to EE or tell me how to connect through SQL developer??
    Regards
    Harsha

    I Solved it.
    I copied the text from listener.ora for EE
    and added it in the other one.
    It works after restart.

  • Apex 4.0 - Can see view data in SQL*Plus but no data in Object Browser

    Hi There,
    I have just started using Apex 4.o and migrated some apps. I have an issue with a report, but see the same issue with Object browser, which is easier to describe.
    I have a view:
    create or replace view V_PLJ_USERDEF_CODES (
             CODE_SET_ID,
             CODE_SET_CODE,
             CODE_SET_DESC,
             CODE_ID,
             CODE_SYS_CODE,
             CODE_VALUE,
             CODE_DESC,
             DISPLAY_SEQ,
             DISPLAY_FLAG,
             LANGUAGE_CODE) as
      select CS.CODE_SET_ID,
             CS.CODE_SET_CODE,
             CS.CODE_SET_DESC,
             C.CODE_ID,
             C.CODE_SYS_CODE,
             C.CODE_VALUE,
             C.CODE_DESC,
             C.DISPLAY_SEQ,
             C.DISPLAY_FLAG,
             C.LANGUAGE_CODE
        from PLJ_CODES C,
             PLJ_CODE_SETS CS
       where C.CODE_SET_ID         = CS.CODE_SET_ID
         and CS.CODE_SET_TYPE_CODE = SYS_CONTEXT('PLJUMPSTART','C_USERDEF_CODE_SET');This returns data in SQL*Plus, but no data in Object Browser OR report region based on this view.
    Workspace parses in the same schema as tested in SQL*Plus.
    If, in report, I swap out view, and use underlying table - no problem.
    Any ideas -
    thanks
    P

    Hi all,
    Thanks for getting back so promptly.
    It just seems weird to me, as tables are just fine, but not views.
    In the underlying schema:
    SQL> sho user
    USER is "ICSREPORTING"
    SQL> select count(*) from plj_codes;
      COUNT(*)
           107
    SQL> select count(*) from v_plj_userdef_codes;
      COUNT(*)
            29And in the APEX schema
    SQL> sho user
    USER is "APEX_040000"
    SQL> select count(*) from icsreporting.plj_codes;
    select count(*) from icsreporting.plj_codes
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    SQL> select count(*) from icsreporting.v_plj_userdef_codes;
    select count(*) from icsreporting.v_plj_userdef_codes
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    SQL>However, in SQL browser, I can see the data in PLJ_CODES but in V_PLJ_USERDEF_CODES, just the message "This view has no data". Indeed, it is like this for all views.
    I even explicitly granted access to APEX_040000 but no good.
    In fact, I would like to know more about how Apex gets access to do DML against the underlying parsing schema(s).
    This is a little frustrating though. It worked just fine in lots of apps in version 2.1 to 3.2
    Am I missing something
    paul
    p.s I knew there would be a question about the context, but I had already checked that. :)

  • SQL statement works with SQL/Plus - but not with ODBC

    Hi all,
    I have a rather copmplex SQL statement:
    BEGIN
    UPDATE ContentDataTable
    SET SYMBOLIC_PATH_PARENT = N'/Test',
    SYMBOLIC_NAME = N'HAWK01.GIF',
    VERSION_NUMBER = 1 +
    SELECT MAX(VERSION)
    FROM
    (SELECT MAX(VERSION_NUMBER) AS VERSION
    FROM ContentDataTable WHERE
    SYMBOLIC_PATH_PARENT = N'/Test' AND
    SYMBOLIC_NAME = N'HAWK01.GIF'
    UNION
    SELECT MAX(VERSION_NUMBER) AS VERSION
    FROM RevisedContentDataTable WHERE
    SYMBOLIC_PATH_PARENT = N'/Test' AND
    SYMBOLIC_NAME = N'HAWK01.GIF'))
    WHERE SYMBOLIC_PATH_PARENT = N'/Test' AND SYMBOLIC_NAME = N'HAWK02.GIF' AND VERSION_NUMBER = 1;
    END;
    It works fine in SQL/Plus or SQL Worksheet and does what it should do ;-)
    But when using it via ADO (ODBC Driver) I get the following error:
    PLS-00103 found 'string' but expected one of the following: 'string'"}
    Any idaes?
    Thanx,
    Christian
    null

    Pardon my ignorance, but what's the significance of the N'<string>' construction? That's not one I'm familar with.

  • Can connect iPhone to friend's wifi, but not MacBook Pro. Says password is invalid.t

    My friend gave me her wifi password so I can connect at her house. I onnected my iPhone with no problems. But when I try to connect my MacBook Pro I keep getting a message that the password is invalid. It's the exact same password I used to connect my phone! recently she had relatives visit and the same thing happened for them. What's up?

    You would do better to ask in the Mac Forum - this is the iPad forum.

  • I can connect my lexmark printer by usb but not wireless

    i can connect my lexmark printer s400 series by usb but not wirelessly any thoughts please

    I'm having the same issue. On my MBP 15" OS 10.7.3 the Lexmark printer does not connect to WIFI. It works on the USB connection. In wifi however it will work on the Virtual Box Windows 7 partition.
    In my logic this means the printer is properly connected to the wifi (green indicator and working with Virtual Box and Windows 7) The MBP is properly connected to the wifi network as Virtual Box works in the Mac's environment. The printer is present in the System Preferences indicating it is Idle and does have a IP address.
    When I do send a document to the printer it just sits in the Que and in System Preferences the status goes to Busy. In the Que it also indicates it is busy until it tmes out and indicate that communication with the printer is a problem.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

  • Procedure runs in SQL Plus, but not when called from my Oracle Form

    Hi. I have this code to send an email alert as the user updates a record on my base table from my Oracle Form. I use dbms_scheduler so that it's submitted as a background job and so the email processing does not delay my Oracle Form from saving quickly. If I submit this code in SQL Plus it executes and I receive the email as expected.
    begin
    dbms_scheduler.create_job (
         job_name            => 'IMMEDIATE_JOB',
         job_type            => 'PLSQL_BLOCK',
         job_action          => 'begin TTMS.dropperVacationConflict_Notify (62547, ''01-SEP-11'', ''02-SEP-11''); end;',
         number_of_arguments => 0,
         start_date          => sysdate +1/24/59, -- sysdate + 1 minute
         enabled             => TRUE,
         auto_drop           => TRUE,
         comments            => 'Immediate, one-time run');
    end;However if I submit this code from a Post-Update trigger in my form the code runs without error, but my email is never received (the same parameter values would be passed to this trigger):
    begin
    -- Submit the email notification in the background so as to not slow down the screen while saving.
    dbms_scheduler.create_job (
         job_name            => 'IMMEDIATE_JOB',
         job_type            => 'PLSQL_BLOCK',
         job_action          => 'begin TTMS.dropperVacationConflict_Notify (:dropper_vacations.dropper_id, :dropper_vacations.begin_dt, :dropper_vacations.end_dt); end;',
         number_of_arguments => 0,
         start_date          => sysdate +1/24/59, -- sysdate + 1 minute
         enabled             => TRUE,
         auto_drop           => TRUE,
         comments            => 'Immediate, one-time run');
    end;     Any ideas why this might be happening?

    Wow, so I changed the two procedures so that I'm only passing in one number parameter and one char parameter...
    CREATE OR REPLACE procedure TTMS.job_vacationconflict_notify (p_dropper_id number, p_other char) IS
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE TTMS.dropperVacationEmailURL_new (in_dropper_id number, in_other char) ISIf I execute it like this it works and I get the email:
    TTMS.job_vacationconflict_notify(62547, 99999);or like this it works and I get the email:
    TTMS.job_vacationconflict_notify(62547, '99999');But if I execute it like this (I get no errors) the email is not sent:
    TTMS.job_vacationconflict_notify(62547, 'ababa');So this problem really has nothing to do with date formats. It seems to have to do with whether parameter two has characters in it!!! What the heck.
    Any ideas on this?
    Here is the procedure I'm calling:
    CREATE OR REPLACE procedure TTMS.job_vacationconflict_notify (p_dropper_id number, p_other char) IS
    begin
      dbms_scheduler.create_job (
         job_name            => 'IMMEDIATE_JOB',
         job_type            => 'PLSQL_BLOCK',
         job_action          => 'begin TTMS.dropperVacationemailurl_new ('||p_dropper_id||','||p_other||'); end;',
         number_of_arguments => 0,
         start_date          => sysdate +1/24/59, -- sysdate + 1 minute
         enabled             => TRUE,
         auto_drop           => TRUE,
         comments            => 'Immediate, one-time run');
    end;
    /And the above procedure is calling this procedure which should be sending the email alert:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE TTMS.dropperVacationEmailURL_new (in_dropper_id number, in_other char) IS
          myguid varchar2(15):=null;
          pcm_contact varchar2(3):=null;

  • Can connect to exchange using eM Client, but not Outlook 2013

    Hi There,
    I have been using eM client to connect to an exchange server with no problems for months. The reason I chose eM Client was because it was free (ha) and it could sync my email, calendar and contacts using Exchange Web Services (EWS).
    But then I decided to make the plunge and get myself an Office account so I could use Outlook. The problem is I just can't connect. I have to use a address in eM client that ends with ews/exchange.asmx to connect, but for there is no option
    to that in outlook.
    Thanks for any help.
    Mike
    (Also, in case I am in the wrong place, I was referred here after I posted @ answers.microsoft.com)

    Hi Mike,
    Is there any update on this thread?
    As Ed mentioned, have you checked the settings of outlook anywhere ?
    In addition, you can refer to the following article to configure:

  • Select from sys.all_ind_columns works in sql*plus but not in stored proc

    I'm writing a query to find duplicate rows in a temporary table which has no unique index defined before I insert the data into the real table. I'm trying to query the sys.all_ind_columns view for the target table which belongs to a different schema:
    SELECT column_name colnm
    FROM sys.all_ind_columns i
    WHERE i.table_owner = 'SUSDB'
    AND i.index_name LIKE '%LUK'
    AND i.table_name = &tbnm
    ORDER BY i.column_position;
    This works from my GUI interface and returns five rows but when I put it into a stored procedure I get now data returned. I have granted my userid SELECT ANY DICTIONARY authority. What else do I need?

  • Can connect to Snow with MacBook Pro but not G4

    I have used my G4 with the airport for a long time. I recently got a MacBook Pro and it connects in fine to the ABS. Both worked connecting to the ABS for a few months. Suddenly, the G4 quit recognizing the ABS. Nothing I do allows it to find it. Could there have been a software update that caused this? There was a thunder storm, but no recognizable issues on the G4, everything seems to be fine...except it doesn't see the Airport.
    Thanks in advance for any ideas.

    try unplugging your broadband modem and ABS for a short time and plug them back in.

    We are currently in the process of migrating some applications from Oracle 10 to 11. Our admins have setup a new development system for us with an Oracle 11 instance. Regarding performance the new system behaves more or less the same than our old, e.g. when executing SQLs we notice hardly any performance differences and those we find are slightly in favour of the new system.
    But now we discovered that the time it takes to establish a database connection via SQL*Plus is longer on the Oracle 11 system. Running the following code
    sqlplus -s user/pw@database <<END
    quit
    ENDa thousand times takes ~60s under Oracle 10 but ~140s under Oracle 11. This may not seem much but we are running a test framework consisting of a bunch of shell scripts where several thousand connections are openend via SQL*Plus to execute some SQLs, so that even this small time difference results in rather huge difference in total runtime. The SQLs themself require roughly the same time in both databases, as already mentioned above they are in fact slightly faster in Oracle 11.
    To analyze the time difference I ran a trace for the connect with the following parameters in sqlnet.ora
    TRACE_LEVEL_CLIENT=4
    TRACE_UNIQUE_CLIENT=ONand found out that there is a time difference of about 70ms during the connect handshake:

    (1) [22-MAR-2013 13:33:40:618] nscon: got NSPTRS packetAny ideas what could be the reason for this time difference? Something in our network configuration or something else?

    With local connections - I do not think a TCP packet send from an IP to the same IP, leaves the interface as an actual wire protocol/signal. If I'm correct, then running local connection tests will be mostly useless in checking the actual network infrastructure.
    Tests 3 and 4 should be showing the same connection times as the same physical network infrastructure is used - only the direction is reversed in the tests.
    I would assume that port settings on the switches and interface settings on the routers treat packets equally in both directions between 2 servers. But this could in part explain the problem if this is not the case. In a case of a router for example, the 1st test's ingress interface is the egress interface of the 2nd test (and vice versa). Configurations can differ substantially between interfaces on the same router. Likewise if there is a firewall - as different rule sets are applied in each test and these rule sets could differ.
    So I would not be too quick to state that this is definitely not a network problem. But I agree that based on the small percentage difference (assuming comparable tests), it does not look like a network issue.
    The next step is to determine what the delay is between the listener accepting the client connection, and the connection being serviced by a dedicated server process.
    This will require listener tracing - tracing the time from when the listener accepted the connection (and parsed the TNS connection string), to handing off the connection to the dedicated server process.
    As a comparison test, you can also test shared server connections. Dispatcher processes (of the db instance) register themselves with the listener. The shared server client hand off is thus done to an existing server process - no need for the Listener to make a kernel call to load and initialise an executable image.
    Shared connections are typically faster than dedicated connections in this respect.
    If there is a major time difference, then it means some kind of issue with the listener dealing with dedicated servers as oppose to dispatcher hand off's. As both connections would have had very similar network transit time - which means the connection time difference is related directly to dealing with a dedicated server connection request and hand off.
    You can also substitute the oracle executable with a wrapper - and troubleshoot the actual dedicated server startup. I've only done this with Oracle XE 10.2 though and with local IPC connections. Unsure how robust this will be for testing purposes via TCP using 11g.

  • Can video chat with Imac non-intel but not with Powerbooks

    Hi,
    I have a Linksys WRT54G firmware v. 1.0.6 connected to a Comcast Cable modem. My IMac Intel Duo (OS 10.4.6) is connected via ethernet cable to the router. I am set to DHCP on router and IMac. My Quicktime settings is at 1.5mb, I have tried with firewall off and on with the appropriate ports open. I have tried upnp on and off.
    I can connect to other Imacs (non-intel) but not to powerbook G4's. With the Powerbooks I can text chat, but sometimes they can see my text, but I can't see theirs. And every video chat is a fail to respond with the powerbook, but they can connect with others.
    Is there anything else I can do?
    Please help. Thanks.

    Hi cmbell,
    Do you know how to access your modem ?
    This should give you somewhere to turn off DHCP.
    Then you go to System Preferences > Network and select the connection method you are using.
    Then select the TCP/IP tab.
    In the drop down that says Using DHCP change it to Manually. (or Manual with DHCP if doing James' way)
    Type the IP you wish to use in the next entry field.
    Copy the subnet mask form the Using DHCP
    Copy any DNS servers listed.
    Copy the router IP address which will be the modem or router in question.
    Hit Apply.
    Done.

  • Connection Via SQL*Plus Worksheet

    Dear Friends,
    I have a peculiar problem. I am connecting via 9i client to a oracle 8i server.
    I could manage to access the database via 9i client's EM and SQL scratch pad. But I am unable to connect via SQL*plus worksheet.
    I got this error
    ERROR:
    ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name
    While I test the service name via Oracle Net manager, it is successful.
    Anybody could shed some light.
    Regards
    Kumar

    Enterprise Manager still has SQL*Plus Worksheet. See:

    Is it possible to recover my data from iCloud backup without working wifi? I have as many other upgraded my iPhone 4S to iOS 7.0.2 with the result that the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth no longer works. However, i can connect to iTunes via cable but there is wrong version of backup.

    Answer is no.
    If you want the iCloud backup you have to have n internet connection, thus WiFi.
    The not working WiFi has happened with quite a number of users.
    It is not exactly clear what is the cause but there are suggestions to clear it up:
    Some people have had success by removing an apostrophe from the iPhone name. If your iPhone is called something like “John’s iPhone” then this might work. Go to Settings > General > About > Name and change it to something with no apostrophe.
    Some people have reported success by putting the iPhone into Airplane mode and then going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings, but the problem may return.
    You could also try going to Settings > Control Center and disable Access on Lock Screen then turn your iPhone off and on again.
    Make sure that your router firmware is up to date.
    Try backing up your iPhone and then restoring it. Check how to factory reset an iPhone for details.
    If nothing is working for you, try contacting Apple or take your iPhone into an Apple Store.
    Succes, Lex
