Can demantra(7.2) forecast at hourly level??

I have a requirement where the forecast needs to be done at hourly level .
Can it be done in demantra ?
As per implementation guide for demantra 7.2 , it seems it can be done. Implementation guide says :
"The base time unit is specified during configuration to a length that is appropriate for
your planning cycle. Oracle provides three sizes of base time unit (day, week, or month)
and *can support hourly time units if needed*."
Please let me know, if you know the details of such setup

I think i was not able to explain the question well . I know that the forecast cycle can be run each hour.
My question is : can the forecast be generated at hourly bucket ?
can we give history in terms of hourly bucket and get the forecast in hourly bucket too?
The time level aggrgation may look like : - hour -> day -> week -> month
As per data model, there seems to be only three time bucket option is there i.e. day , week and month.
But as per implementation guide , we can also forecast in hourly bucket. if it can be done , can some body let me know what the extra step required .

Can Demantra Forecast at a National level?

Good afternoon Forum,
I posted a thread about a month ago and am back again to hear some more good advice and information. I work in a business group which supplies spare parts nationally through regional distribution centers for a large industrial equipment installed base. Despite me being against this, our management has decided to use Demantra to forecast parts usage at the National level and then force down to the regional distribution centers to take a percentage of parts based on past percentage of the total, rather than roll up the individual regional forecasts to create a total.
My question is can Demantra be set to do this? What would it take? Besides being less accurate at a regional level, what other drawbacks are there?

To solve the proble, I think the best way is to create something like dummy entity, which is usually called adjustment entity as Alwin mentions.
Please remember not making any child entity of the adjustment entity. Otherwise, the adjustment entity won't be base-level member anymore, and you can not post data.

Hi, I am trying to check if F&R has the capability to let me plan the forecasting process at any level other than Location-Product.
For example, I wish to execute a WEEKLY FORECAST only at the MERCHANDISE CATEGORY level, for all products defined under that MERCHANDISE CATEGORY. Is it possible to execute the forecast process this way? Please throw some light.

Hi Vismay,
you could use the mass_maintenance for location products and assign the forecast frequenca profile to all location products of a certain merchandise category (use merchandise category as selection).
Alternative could be (if you are interested to do the forecast calculation once a week): You can create a new forecast frequency profile with the appropriate settings (weekly forecast; weekday the calculation has to be done; recurrency = 1). Define this new profile as the default profile!

Hi Harsh,
Remember that the tree table is a Master-Detail relationship between VO. So in your case, you are applying a VO Criteria to your Master, wich will allow you to filter data a Master Level. If you want to filter the Child VO, you need to create a ViewCriteria for it and apply it in your AM -> YourMaster -> YourChild VO :: Edit -> Shuttle the VC to the right.
But following this approach the Filter you use in the ChildVO, will be applied to all Childs independently of the MasterVO.

Go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report in 10.7), then select Power from the left hand column of the System Profiler. Copy and paste the Battery Information back here.
Also it would help to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report in 10.7).When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier.

The only way to synchronize is connecting to FaceBook. I just set up my girl friend's iPhone to connect with FaceBook, which then updated the phone's level; then I downloaded the app (again) on her iPad and selected connect to Facebook. I'm not sure what the downfall of synchronizing through FaceBook is.... all I can tell you is it worked and now her iPad shows the same level as her iPhone. Good luck!

I can't sequence more than 24 hours of footage in Adobe Premiere Pro

I'm trying to put together 25 (full) days worth of video in Premiere Pro. Is this even possible? I can't get anything past 24 hours to sequence together.

I would load a clip into the Source Monitor, pick the first frame you want to use, press Shift+E (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+E (Win) to Export Frame, then on the NumPad, type +80000 and press NumPad's Enter key to jump forward. Then repeat until you reach end of clip. If there's a way to automate this, I'm not aware of it.
Note that to amass enough frames for 3 minutes @ 30fps, you'll have to do this 5400 times (30x60x3); 2 minutes at 24fps = a mere 2880 reps. And once you're finished grabbing all the stills, if you want to import them as a frame sequence, you'll need to batch rename them with the same base name and an incrementing number. The challenge there will be to make sure all the images are in the right order before batch renaming in Bridge.
To me, this seems like a painful approach.

Can Demantra be upgraded from 7.2.0 to 7.3.1.2 on DB 11gr2 ? Please Share the steps or Documents if the upgrade of demantra 7.2.0.1 to 7.3.1.1 is supported.

oracle supports demantra upgrade from 7.2 to 7.3.0 . Demantra 7.3.1.x is supported on db 11g r2 bt 7.2 is not supported on db 11g r2.
So we will require to upgrade from 7.2 to 7.3.0 without upgrading db. While we upgrade from 7.3.0 to 7.3.1.x ,we may upgrade our db to 11g r2 if required.

Aggregation of the Forecast to product level

Hi,
In the Demand Planning We have a requirement that say there are 2 products A and B. We will execute the forecast at the product level and we get forecast say 200 ifor product A and 300 ifor product B for next month.
Now i will run the forecast at the product group level(taking these 2 products in one selection) and i will get the forecast say 500. Now the requirement is that this forecast is to be disaggregated to 200 for product A and 300 for product B . Client do not like to run the forecast at the product level.If we run at the product group level,this should be disaggregated to the product level in such a way it shhould equal to the forecast when we run at product level. Forecast profile is same for product and product group level. All the other parameters such as historical period,forecast periods etc are same at the product and product group level.
Please advise what are the settings required.

Hi Siva,
If I understand correctly what you need is either you forecast at aggregate level or details level, forecast at details level should be same in both case.
This is more of chicken or egg come first situation. If you really like the forecast at the aggregate level to disaggregate same as forecast at detail level than I would suggest to forecast at lower level.
Reason being, Even though you use same forecast profile you will get different forecast numbers at lower level and aggregate level due to different sale pattern (Sales history) at detail level in case you are using complex forecast strategy.
You may take following approach to get some what near by results if not exact.
1. calculate "detail proportion factor" for all periods you want to forecast.
2. Forecast at product group level and dis aggregate based on this detailed proportion factors.
