Can I choose to run the cloud server role instance on a windows server 2013 core?

Since the cloud service allow me to choose the OS family on the role instance,  is there a option i can choose windows server 2012 core?
My think is use the core will save some resources and good for the performance.
If there is no such an option, then, If i remote to that role instance and switch the os to the core, what is it going to happen?

Hey,
There is no Core installation in the Gallery of Azure.
You can install the server with the GUI interface and then you can remove the GUI from the powershell with these commands so it will be basically core installation:
Get-WindowsFeature *gui* | Uninstall-WindowsFeature –Restart
Good Luck,

  • Please bring up The Cloud Server So I Can Print!

Two days and missing print jobs is too much.
In my eprintCenter it shows that my HP photosmart D110 printer
    is Connected <-----<<<<<
    is Ready.<-----<<<<<
Two pending print jobs are shown.
I did several refreshes it this stays the same. <---<<<< OK
I even download to the printer a new app. <-----<<<< OK
I even tested the printer and for the wireless network is <----<<< OK
Please bring up The Cloud Server So I Can Print!
HP should put an easy Quick Print Test Button on the eprinCenter Webpage for easy troubleshooting!

    Hello eprintandy,
If you are having issues with print jobs being stuck in "PENDING" status I would advise you to try the following steps:
While the printer is still on, unplug the power cord from the printer, leave it unplugged for 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the printer. Once plugged back in the printer should power on automatically.
If this does not resolve the issue then I would take it one step further and try this:
First, unplug the printers power cord while it is still on. Leave it unplugged and walk to the router. While the router is still on, unplug the power cord from the router, leave it unplugged for 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the router. Once plugged back in the router should power on automatically. Now go back to the printer and plug its power cord back in. Once plugged back in the printer should power on automatically.
Let me know if this helps or if you need more assistance.
If I have solved your issue, please feel free to provide kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided!
Although I work for HP, my posts and replies are my own opinion and not those of HP.

    can anyone help

    Srinath is 100% correct.
If the deployment failed, then there will very likely be some mention in the log.
You state that you checked the log, but you didn't mention whether you found an error, no error, a successful startup, etc. you are providing painfully few details to assist.
I would bet if you posted your .log and .out logs to Pastebin.com - #1 paste tool since 2002 and provided us links, We would be able to point out the error.
Lacking that information, my best advice would be to re-install and double-check you're completing all steps in the correct order.
Also, be sure to always search the product documentation first, the search this forum. For basic issues (e.g., standard installation), there is a high probability that someone else has asked that question.
    I hope that helps,

  • Email Enabled lists - where to run the SMTP server? On APP server or on Exchange Server? Or somewhere else?

    Hi there,
I need to setup EMail Enabled lists in SharePoint 2010 site. Where do I need to run the SMTP server? On APP server or on Exchange Server? Or somewhere else?
    Thank you so much.

The SMTP service cannot run on the Exchange server. You can run it on a SharePoint server, or a stand alone server and share out the drop directory over SMB.

  • Running the App Server as a user other than root

We used to use iPlanet Web Server which during installation allowed you to specify which user you wanted to run the Web Server. This was very good for security. How do you do this with the App server ?
    Thanks
PS We are running it on Solaris 9.

Application Server 7 expands on the flexibility offered in the web server.
The most basic means to define app server instances with non-root users is to create an administrative domain (basically, an admin server instance) using the user ID of interest. As you create new application server instances in the admin domain, you can assign the same user ID to the instances.
(There is an admin domain that is initially configured as part of the app server installation. If you installed the product as root, then the admin server and the initially configured app server instance are owned by root. If you do not want these instances to be owned by root, you should remove this admin domain and create a new one that is owned by a non-root user.)
For example, with the following command, I've created a new app server config (an administrative domain) containing an admin server owned by user "ckamps":
root@canteloupe-{}: asadmin create-domain sysuser ckamps adminuser admin adminpassword password adminport 5050 ckamps.domain3
    Created Domain ckamps.domain3 successfully
    root@canteloupe-{}:
Then I create an app server instance within this admin domain:
    root@canteloupe-{}: asadmin create-instance domain ckamps.domain3 sysuser ckamps --instanceport 80 instance1
    Created Instance instance1 successfully
Note the use of the "--sysuser" option to specify the user that owns both the admin domain as well as the app server instance.
You can either use root to define the admin domain and the instances (in which case you need to specify the sysuser option to force a non-root ownership) or you can use a non-root user to define the admin domain and app server instances.  In the latter case, specification of the sysuser is not required.
Since my instance is defined to listen on a privileged port, I'll need to set the "run as user" in the <instance-dir>/config/init.conf file (similar to magnus.conf in Sun ONE Web Server 6) AND ensure that I start the instance as root. Once the server instance starts up as root, it will automatically switch to the run as user.
The "User" setting below is the "run as user" specified in the admin console's "Create new instance" wizard.
    <snip of init.conf>
    NetsiteRoot /usr/appserver
    ServerID instance3
    ServerName canteloupe
    PidLog /var/appserver/domains/ckamps.domain3/instance3/logs/pid
    User ckamps
    DNS off
    </snip>
Alternatively, you can start up the newly defined admin server and create the new app server instance through the admin console.
    Hope this helps,
    Chris

  • After upgrade to Mavericks, i can´t choose wich is the primary monitor

I use 2 monitors, one in hdmi and the 2 in MDP. After upgrade OS, the 2 monitor is the primary, and i can´t choose wich is the primary monitor and the dock dont display on all monitor, like the announced.
Someone know how can i fix this?
That was the worst OS X update I've ever seen...

First of all, IMHO, you do not need A/V software on a Mac running OS X. Most of that stuff will cause problems. There are NO documented viruses that affect a Mac running OS X. There is an occasional malware report, but that usually is a result of visiting odd sites.
Use the MacAfee uninstaller and forget Avast. If you mean the MacAfee icon on the dock, just drag it off.

  • Can't download Ps from the cloud.  Why?

Can't download PS in the cloud.  Window appears BRIEFLY stating "Another version of Application Mgr is running..." then disappears and a never ending green download bar appears.  It goes on forever and then fails.  What do I do?

    What browser are you using?
In Windows Task Manager, do you see an instance of Adobe Application Manager running?
    Good luck,

  • Is there any way to run the datasocket server from the vi

I want to run the datasocket server from the LabVIEW program and is there any command to do this. Because, I built one application vi and this vi is link with another vi using datasocket. So every time before i run the program, i need to run the data socket server. So if i forget to run the datasocket server, I need to restart my vi. So what I want to do is I want to run the data socket server, when i open this VI. So that I do not forget. Thanks.
    Saw.

In the examples\comm folder there is a file called datasktxwin.llb In that library open e.g. DS 3D Graph Writer...launch it and you will see that it launches the data socket server. Take a look at the code and you'll find a VI that launches the server; "Launch DS server if Local URL.vi".
If you know the path to the server executable you can always launch it using the System Exec.vi from the communication palette too. The typical command line would then be:
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\DataSocket\cwdss.exe

  • HT1212 I have an iphone 3 which has been disabled, I've put it into recovery mode but itunes won't connect to it. I know the password but the device wn't give me the option to add it. What else can I do to enable the device. I can't wipe it from the cloud

I have an iphone 3G which has been disabled after a child tried to get into it. Itunes will not connect until I have put the passcode in but the device will only enable emergency calls and does not allow a passcode to be put in. I have put it into recovery mode and itunes can't see it. There is currently no SIM card in it and it's not connectng to the wifi so I can't wipe it from the cloud. Any ideas how I can get into it?

iPhones require a SIM for activation.
Put the device in DFU mode (google it) and restore via iTunes.

Buy another hard drive.  They're cheap these days.
In fact, buy a couple of 'em.  I recommend a minimum of five internal hard drives.

  • Why can't I connect to the update server?  If I download manually, how do i update the phone?

Why can't I connect to the update server?  If I manually download SW, how do I update phone or ipad since it is not in iTunes?
    Thanks

I assume all of your network connections are OK,  you can get to the internet and that you aren't blocked by something like an enterprise firewall.  Are those assumptions correct?  .  My experience has been that from time to time, the update server get's "maxxed out", and if you try later it will work.
