The CompileSPL.exe in the Lync Server 2013 SDK can't compile the application manifest file

My windows server version is 2012 standard, I deployed the lync server 2013 to my environment, and ran the lync server 2013 SDK on the front end pool. Today, I wanted to compile a application manifest file, but I got the warning that this app can't run on
your pc, to find a version for your pc, check with the software publisher.

Hi,
The issue is related to Lync Server 2013, I suggest you ask for help from Lync Server 2013 SDK forum for better and accurate answer to the question.:

  • Microsoft Lync Server 2013 Control Panel "Navigation to the webpage was canceled"

i'm facing this issue on the last 2 days.My Lync server 2013 was seted up a month ago and everything went fine on the installation.
    Lync server 2013 on Windows 2008R2 SP1.
I could login to the Control Panel (using domain administrator credentials), create users (including myself) manage clients etc.
i didn't login to Lync server for at least a week, beacause i didin't have any other user to add. When time came to add a new user to Lync, i got this error whenever i try to open Control Panel.
i didn't change anything during this time, so i'm really confused by this.
i've checked everything from the start and all seem to be in place.
i also can't open the admin page from the local host as i get an error
    HTTP error 403.4 - Fobidden.
i tried also to create new certificates for Lync server, but issue remains.
Also, any solutions i've read for this problem doesn't work as everything is placed correct as other users suggest.
Can anyone please help me further?
    Cheers,
    Elias

Ok I had the same problem, I missconfigured the admin simple url in topology builder (TB) which I fixed.  Also the default certificate in the FE server did not have a SAN entry for the "admin" simple url (which was an error).
So I corrected the admin address in TB republised it, redid step two on the FE, reissued adn replaced the old cert.  The new cert had the corrected admin simple url.  Checked IIS on the server and made sure that the internal web server had the
    right certificate, restarted IIS.
The default Lync control pannel still did not come up, I rebooted the server, the closest I got was being prompt for my credential which it did not accept.
Finally control pannel came up with https://localhost/cscp but I got prompted becuase of a certificate missmatch:
but it still worked!!! Very very wierd.  I have not changed CA servers.  I am interested about why this happened....

  • Error Upgrading from the Evaluation Version of Microsoft Lync Server 2013

    Hi,
I try to upgrade from Evaluation to full Version using:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg521005.aspx
    but after i run: msiexec.exe /fvomus server.msi EVALTOFULL=1 /qb
    i get a popup:
"Another version of this product is already installed. installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel."
Get-CsServerVersion :-> Microsoft Lync Server 2013 (5.0.8308.0): Evaluation license key installed.
    Any ideea?

    Hi Iulius
As your upgrading the Licence on the Lync 2013 FE it shouldn't care about the Lync 2010 Environment. As your moving from Eval to Full Licence on 2013. I have come across the below url that might help.
    http://pei.com/2013/03/how-to-change-lync-license-from-evaluation-to-licensed/
    http://jackstromberg.com/2013/02/how-to-activate-lync-evaluation-to-licensed-version/
I would personally go with from Lync Management Shell with Elevated Permission
    cd /
cd /d: (Other what other drive letter)
    cd /Setup\Amd64\Setup
    msiexec.exe /fvomus Server.msi EVALTOFULL=1 /qb
But that's just me Id rather run the command from the directory than pointing to it.

  • Lync Server 2013 : Export-CsArchivingData Can i get the files or name of files transferred between 2 users

I am using LyncServer 2013 And my Question is :-
    Export-CsArchivingData -
By using this Command-let Can i get  the files or name of files transferred between 2 users
Whether it is stored in "LcsLog" database ?
If not weather Lync server saves the files (which users are sending to another users ) anywhere on file system, or not ?

Doug Deitterick has a great blog posting that should answer your question: http://blogs.technet.com/b/dodeitte/archive/2013/04/24/archiving-options-in-lync-server-2013.aspx
The actual File is not archived in Lync, but the file name is and will be have either _p2P or _conf at the end of the name to indicate how it was transferred.

  • Persistent Chat (Lync Server 2013) with Lync 2010 Group Chat

I have successfully deployed Lync Server 2013 and both 2013 and 2010 desktop clients connect and function as expected.
The problem is with Persistent Chat. It works perfectly with the 2013 desktop client but - whilst 2010 Group Chat connects - I receive the error message "The [LOGON_DOMAIN] is not available". No chat rooms are available and I am unable to search.
I have been unable to locate anything on the web which discusses the problem.
I do not know whether this makes a difference but the 2010 clients use terminals rather than dedicated workstations.
Can anyone shed any light on what the problem may be?

Have you created a CsPersistentChatEndpoint to allow the Group Chat client (2010) to connect to Persistent
Chat server? Please take a look at: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204901.aspx

This forum is only English Supported.
Did you use the same account to open Lync Server 2013 control panel with Lync Server 2010 Control Panel?
If not, please check the account that is assigned to the CsAdministrator role.
On your Lync Server 2013 Front End Server, open IIS, expand Lync Server Internal Web Site. Click cscp, then click Browse *:443 in Actions panel to check if you can open Lync Server 2013 Control Panel.
Check your Domain Controller is available. You can ping it on Lync Server 2013 Front End Server.

  • Lync Server 2013 Installation on Server 2012

    Hi
i'm trying to install Lync 2013 on a clean FE server running server 2012, however, i have installed all the required roles and features including .NET 4.5 but when i run the Lync setup it says Microsoft .Net 4.5 or higher must be installed (3.5 is also installed
on the FE server). i have tried rebooting the server but to no avail. Please help
    katlego

    Hi,
Lync Server requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5. For Lync Server 2013, you must manually install the 64-bit edition of Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 on the server prior to installing Lync Server 2013. To manually install it, download the Microsoft .NET
4.5 Framework from the Microsoft Download Center at
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=268529
To Install .NET 4.5 HTTP Activation on Windows Server 2012
From the Start menu, click Programs, then click
Administrative Tools, then click Server Manager.
In Server Manager, under Features Summary, choose Add Features.
    Expand .NET Framework 4.5.
Select WCF Activation if it isn’t already selected. Then select
    HTTP Activation.
Click Next and follow the prompts to finish the installation.

  • Make Call Fail on B2B in Lync Server 2013

    Hi,
I am facing an issue while working with Lync server 2013.
My analysis on the issue is as follows:
Lync Client 2013 (SIP Scenario) :
    1) Invite from UCMA application to Lync Server and then to reach Lync Agent.
    2) Trying
    3) 180 Ringing
    4) "488 not acceptable here" responded by the Lync Server
    Lync Client 2010 (SIP Scenario):
    1) Invite from UCMA application to Lync Server and then to reach Lync Agent.
    2) Trying
    3) 180 Ringing
    4) 200 Ok (Lync Agent attends the call)
The scenario works properly with Lync Client 2010 and Lync Server 2013.
But the same doesn't work with Lync Client 2013 and Lync Server 2013.
Kindly revert back with a possible solution ASAP.
    Regards,
    Harish

    Hi,
Make sure Lync 2013 client update to the latest version and then test again.
If the issue persists, you might post the issue on Lync MSDN forum and more developing expert will help to solve the issue. Thank you for your understanding.

  • On-Site Conversation Translator and Lync Server 2013

    To Whom It May Concern,
I'm looking into deploying Lync Server 2013 Standard and I was curious as to whether there is a way to install the Conversation Translator as a service on-site.  Meaning not using the service on the Internet.  Similar to IBM's Websphere Application
Server where I can install a local instance on a closed network, have Sametime Connect point to that service, and translate the IM conversation.
I remember talking to a few MS folks a couple years ago, and they mentioned that it was going to be available as an add-on (or component) of Lync Server.  Is this possible?
    Thanks,
    Brendan

There is a Client side plugin, take a look at:

  • The Director role is optional in Lync Server 2013 - could anyone please explain why the director server has lost its importance??

Could anyone please explain why the director has been removed from spotlight as it had much importance in LYNC 2010 and now being an optional role in LYNC server 2013.[any call flows regarding director servers would be much useful]

    Hi SJ Praveen,
A Director is a server running Lync Server 2013 that authenticates user requests, but does not home any user accounts. Lync 2013 Front End servers have the same registrar service and functionality
    as the Director.
The Director isn't providing any special functionality. If the Director goes down, all pools would become inaccessible when the clients queried DNS for the SRV record until an administrator
makes a manual internal DNS change that points users to a Front End pool to handle the sign-in request from Lync clients. Microsoft has made the Director functionality relevant for organizations that have specific security requirements, such as allowing all
external users to register to a specific internal server instead of the Front End servers. This server role is merely optional and not needed for most Lync Server 2013 deployments.
    Best regards,
    Eric

  • How can I connect the phone network to LYNC Server 2013?

    Greetings,
We have a working implementation of Lync Server 2013 (pc to pc), our objective is to connect lync to our phone central, receive and send calls from lync clients (pc, phone, etc), basically enterprise voice services.
I would like to know the following:
Hardware that I need for this beside the server.
Extra configurations that must be done.
If you could recommend me the hardware needed it would be helpful.

You'll need a gateway typically. You can find a list of qualified IP gateways here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dn788945.aspx
I typically lean towards the AudioCodes Mediant line, though many here love Sonus as well.  You'll need to pick a method to connect to your PBX before you begin, such as via a T1/E1 trunk, FXO ports, or a SIP trunk depending on what your PBX will
    support.
You'll need to configure the PBX to route calls through the T1 towards Lync and vice versa.  You'll also need to configure the gateway itself, so I'd go with a consultancy with experience here or purchase remote implementation support from the hardware
    manufacturer.
On the Lync side, you'll need to configure dial plans, voice policies, usages, and routes:
