Can I copy a catalog format to the other files in the book?

Hi everyone,
Yet another question from a newbie, FM 10 Windows 7. I finally figured out how to filter the paragraph catalog so it opens with only the styles I want, in the order I want. I was very pleased until I noticed that this catalog didn't carry over throughout the whole book. I tried importing a format from another document, but it didn't succeed. I thought the solution might be to change the format when there's nothing open, but then the catalog is blank. If I open the book and select the title of the book, the menu changes.
Is there a way to change a default over the whole book instead of a in single document?

You can try the plug-in for free and only pay the few dollars if it suits your work's needs.
IMO it's short sighted to avoid a tool that can make your work more efficient, especially if its cost is trivial. A few years ago, someone on techwr-l.com pointed out that the familiar "Lorem Ipsem" placeholder text probably was written by ancient tech writers, known as scribes, in their day, because a loose translation of the pseudo-Latin contains the phrase "we like to beat ourselves with sticks."
Paying a plug-in developer encourages more creative development of add-on product improvements. Positive user reviews and multiple user requests for the feature to be built into FM, can encourage Adobe to buy and incorporate the product's valuable features.

The funtionality I need is that I want finder to rename the files in folder when I drop a new file in. When I add the new file (file neame: "1") to a folder, I want to increment the other file names in the folder by 1.
So when I drop a my new "1" file into the folder, the file original file called "1" will be renamed "2", the original file named "2" will be renamed "3" etc
I'm creating a 'stream' of images. When I add a new image i want it to nudge the other images in the folder along.

The "OTHER" data on the percentage bar on the iphone

Prob be discussed before but...
iv had my iPhone for about 3 months now and the "other" data has never really been above 0.45GB, but today after syncing it has gone straight up to 1.20GB!
I have done all the usual stuff to get it back down like, delete all the old messages, recent calls, old emails and trash folders, browser history, cookies etc. then synced again, but its still at 1.20GB.
Does anyone know how to lower the size of it, or what data is classed as other?

Thanks for the advice to restore too, i have just done that now and it has fixed the problem, not just with the "other" file but the whole phone seems to be like brand new and really fast again!

If the music is on the same computer, import the songs to your iTunes library by dragging them into iTunes or choosing File > Add to Library (Mac) or File > Add File to Library or Add Folder to Library (Windows). If the music is on different computers you can set up Home Sharing to copy the music from one library to the other (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3819 and http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4620).

The same cuts that I have in this clip that i performed with the blade tool, I want to duplicate, copye, paste and apply to another clip. I want the cuts to mimic and be an exact same. I wish i could highlight the clip, click copy and then highlight the other clip and then click paste and the cuts apply.

just add ? +Math.random() in the end of your file

ExpiresDefault "access plus 1 month"
you can type what ever type of file you want to prevent from caching in browser
Advantage : after do this in your .htaccess file all files with the type you want will not Cache in your browser

It's a Finder feature, related to Quick Look. You can hit the space bar in the file list to get a preview.
If that doesn't work, you may have an issue witha preference file or similar. I find rebuilding the launch databse works quite well resilving tis kind of thing, as does trashing Finder preferences

My suggestion to use the smart playlist was more along the lines of making one list with rules to show everything in your library as long as it was kind "mpeg" (= mp3).
Smart playlists cannot be edited manually, only by changing the rules. You can use them as the basis for another smart playlist though.
There is added overhead to using smart playlists, so don't go overboard.

HT1364 help I just completed this task to free up my hard disc and be able to upgrade my iTunes but when I re-opened iTunes it is a blank new account! When I copied the iTunes file to the recycle bin it made me effectively empty as I copied over as it was

I just completed this task (support.apple.com/kb/HT1364) moving my music to an external HD to free up my PC hard disc and all went well until I re-opened iTunes and it is a blank new account!
I also don't can't access anything from the recycle bin as when I copied the iTunes file to the recycle bin it said it was too large to copy over so made me effectively empty as I copied over as it was so big.
Any help gratefully recieved or where I can get some, I am going round in circles. I also don't know which itunes operating system I have, it is around 3 years old.

hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music' then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

Different formats of the flat file for the same target

In our deployment, we use plugin code to extract the csv files in the required format. The customers are on same version of datamart, but they are on different versions of source database - from 3.x to 4.5 depending on which version of application they are using. In 4.0, we introduced a new column email in the user table in the source database. Accordingly, plugin will add the field in the csv file. But not all the customers will get the upgraded version of plugin at the same time. So ETL code needs to decide which data flow to process depending on the format of the csv file to load data to the same target table. I made the email field in the target table nullable but it still expects the same format of the csv file with delimiter for null value.
Need help to achieve this. Can I read the structure of the flat file in DS or get the count of delimiters so that I can use a conditional to use different data flow based on the format of the flat files.
Can I make the email column in the flat file optional?

You can add an email column that maps to null in a query transform for the source that does not contain this column.
Or else you can define two different file formats that map to the same file. One with the column and one without

Can Aperture trash the image files (in the finder) that I don't want?

Long time iView Media Pro user here and fairly new to Aperture.
One of the things that I like about iView (and I can't seem to figure out in Aperture) is that I can trash an original file that I do not want to keep from within the app.
iView actually moves the image file to the trash. This allows you to import all of the images, review them, and trash the ones you don't want to keep.
It appears that Aperture only trashes the Master (and versions) that it creates in the library and does not physically trash the original files.
Is there something I am missing here?

I think the thing that you are missing is that after import, you should delete your master files in Finder and just leave the ones in the Aperture library. Then when you remove them they are really gone. You can always use the "Export Master" command to get thme out again (untouched) or simply go into the Aperture library and do a find for all images to see them and move them elsewhere (if for some reason you cannot run Aperture).
One possible flow to make this esier is to always have Aperture import files from CF/SD cards, then format them after import (well, after import and then backup...)

It sounds like if you open Preferences in Word there will be a place where you can specify where to store autorecover files. Right now it sounds like it's pointing to somewhere that doesn't exist.

From the names I'd guess they are temporary files. If excel is running, quit and try again. If they still won't move or delete reboot. If they still won't move or delete...kill a chicken at midnight under an oak tree?
