Can i get my Rev. A replaced?

hello all, I have the original iMac G5 (revision A). it has been trouble free for a bit, but now is starting to act up again. first off, if the computer is turned off and unplugged for a bunch of hours, when i go to hook up the power cable, the computer will emit this fast, soft clicking sound. i would try to power up the computer, but it would not respond. i investigated this a bit, and removed the back cover and plugged the power cable back in. to my surprise, the first LED light on the back was the only one working, and it was blinking fast, which was the noise i was hearing. i remember reading somewhere on the Suport page or Discussions page that if you had a Rev. A imac within a certain range of serial number, you could get the computer checked out? and then possibly replaced if the problem wasnt fixed. the second thing thats going on with my computer is i can hear another noise, possibly near the fan, that turned on when i had my iPod hooked up to it. i removed my iPod but the noise continued, and then had to quit iTunes for the noise to stop.
so is it true that theres a document that says if your iMac falls between certain serial numbers (which mine does), you might be able to get a replacement?

I had my rev A replaced with the Rev C after having 5 documented repairs done on it. I wouldnt say that if you have a iMac G5 in the range for the waranty extension would mean for you a replacement. you will need several, ( 3 i beilieve is Apple's policy) before they would replace it. They will probably want to repair it since they have determined a specific part to be failing and have a replacement part they are using now.
Even after 5 major failures on mine i had to really convince AppleCare that I deserved a replacement. NOT yet another repair.
Good luck.

It looks like we have somehow misplaced the mains cable for my Dad's MacBook. The big question where could I get hold of a replacement one ? I have looked on Apple's website but unless I am either blind or daft I can't see one. The only thing I can think of of is to drive to my nearest Apple store (some 60 miles away) which I don't want to if I can help it. Any ideas?

Problem now solved. It was found in a completely stupid place.

  • HT1937 Where can I get my phone screen replaced, it has a crack in it.

Where can I get a repair on my iphone, it has a crack on the screen.

Apple does not repair devices, they replace them.
For $199 Out of Warranty you can get the device replaced.
Or you can find a local repair shop to replace the screen, likely cheaper... Warranty does not cover user damage, which is what caused the screen to crack.  The warranty will definitely be void if you get it repaired anywhere other than Apple.

  • Can I get an iPhone 5C replacement outside my country?

Guys, I'm from the U.S. but I'm currently stranded in Canada due to other complications. My iPhone 5C suddenly died on me and we've pretty much determined that the LCD is dead and that I need to go to the Apple Store to get it replaced.
    1. Will it cost me? I don't have warranty and I just feel really cheated that this would happen in my dire time of need, when my cellphone is one of my very few life lines at the moment. My phone is not jailbroken and it just randomly went black and died on me.
    2. Whether it will cost me or not, can I get a replacement even though I'm from a different country? Or can I not because the U.S. and Canadian 5Cs are different?

I just feel cheated by life I guess? I've never had a glaring random happening like this. I've dropped it in water ONCE, and I owned up to it and paid a hefty fine to replace it. But being stranded and my phone being one of my few forms of communication..for it to suddenly go out like this? I just feel really cheated by life and my phone. I know it sounds odd but argh...
But thanks anyway guys. Guess I gotta wait.

  • I've had my iPod touch 4g 64gb for 3 years, can I get it fixed or replaced?

Yeah it just broke and I don't have a warranty on it anymore, what should I do? Help please

You can still get it replaced but you will have to pay 199$. (because you have a 64GB model and you don't have warranty left).
Note that Apple will replace it with the same model only. (Same model - same capacity - same color)

  • Can I get my Note 3 Replaced with a newer build or switch to a different phone and pay the difference?

First off, let me say, I really love my Galaxy Note 3 -- it is an awesome Smartphone...  Unfortunately, I am one of the users of the problematic Note 3s...  I got the phone and it worked great for about the first week I had it (I got it outside of the area where I live)...  then  I got it home... I usually have a good 4G signal at home -- inside and out.
My office is literally just on the other side of my college campus (less than a mile away)...  I go from a good 4G signal to no signal in my office, with the exception of about a  1 foot square section on my desk where I can get 1x, and occasionally 4G.  I worked with the support team on Twitter and was sent a new SIM card, and that seemed to help unfil a few weeks ago.
Every other Verizon 4G phoen I have seen at my office almost always has at least 2 bars of 4G... If not 4G, then it will have a perfect 3G signal.  (To compare, I upgraded from the iPhone 4, which never had a problem getting a 3G signal anywhere)...  I would expect the Note 3 would at least keep some kind of a signal in an area where everybody's 3G signal is nearly perfect....   At the local walmart, I can barely get a signal outside, and you can forget it inside...  (Ironically, there's a verizon store at this shopping center as well... when I walk in the verizon store, my phone magically switches back to a decent 4G signal...)
Ideally, I'd take new Note 3 that doesn't have this problem, or I could upgrade to the Note 3 Developers Edition that also doesn't have this issue.  I really love the Note 3 and would prefer to stay with the Note 3...
How can I work with you guys to make this happen?
    Thanks!

    Hey Lyndsey & Ada,
I appreciate yawl following up with me -- this is the first time I have actually been able to get signed into my community account in a while.
I did managed to get some help out of the Twitter support team and they sent me another phone.  My second phone (the one I just received a couple of weeks ago now) definitely worked better for a few days and then went bad again.  I am beginning to wonder if the PRL needs to be updated...  Unfortunately, I do not remember what the original PRL was when I first turned the phone on.  But I know that it is on 15296 now.
I am back to having to leave my phone sitting in one particular spot in my office where it has any kind of signal.  I go back to my original question -- since I have had so many problem with this phone, can I upgrade to the Note 3 Developers Edition and just pay the difference?
    Thanks!

  • Can I get my cracked screen replaced for free

Is it possible to get my cracked screen replaced for free? Please help me on this one. I am new to apple products.
    Thanks

A broken screen is not covered by the warranty. However, sometime the Genius at an Appe store will exchange it at no cost. Otherwise the exchange cost is:
Apple - Support - iPod - Repair pricing
Make an appointment at find out.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar

  • Serviced 4x within 5 Months: Can I Get a New Machine Replacement?

After much consideration, I made the PC to Mac switch, and bought my first laptop and Mac product: a iBook G4 from macmall.com, in late December 2005, right before leaving for a spring semester abroad.
In about a month, I had my HD replaced under the standard 1-year guarantee, at the local service center (France).
About a month after that, my airport card stopped working.
When I got it back, I took it home and found a blue screen. I took it back and they said that there was another problem, likely something with the motherboard. That was fixed.
A few weeks ago, I had another problem where my computer would only start up to the blue screen again. I still don't know what it was (in service currently) but it is a hardware problem, and the 3rd "major" problem (apparently Apple doesn't consider airport a considerable problem).
Losing information from the HD failure and having to get my computer serviced 4 times within 5 months has been very frustrating and disappointing. While abroad, my computer was supposed to play a central role: allow me to do work (for my classes, to apply for internships/scholarships) and very important personal support (maintain personal contact with friends/family, photos, music).
Although my iBook will be repaired by the time I return home to CA in 3 weeks, I want to ask Apple for a replacement machine.
I feel a mix of suspicion about the competency of the authorized Apple Service Center and loss of faith in my machine.
--> Do I have a case, especially given that my iBook will likely be working by the time I call in about 3 weeks (I'm still in France and thought it'd be a headache to try to get a replacement abroad)?
I also want the replacement to be a macbook.
Given that I had what I consider the most aggravating problem in the first month or so, a hard drive failure where I lost all the valuable data I brought for use/support while abroad, I wanted to argue that I get the equivalent of the product I bought when my ibook went awry. I see the macbook as the equivalent of the ibook.
--> Do I have an argument? Or is it unlikely that I can get a macbook for my ibook, considering they probably want to get rid of all remaining ibooks in stock?
Also, how likely is it that Apple will propose to refund the amount I paid for my computer (which I don't want), given that..
    - I ordered through macmall.com?
    - I paid 994 dollars for my ibook, and the macbook is 1,099?
Basically, I would appreciate insights on how realistic my desire to ask for a macbook replacement for my ibook is, given my situation.
Thank you in advance! I hope to call around July 10th!
P.S. If they agree to give me a macbook, would it be possible for me to ask to pay a little extra for a Superdrive?
Or pay the difference for even a Black macbook? Or do you think I could make a case for a Black macbook to replace my iBook?
iBook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.2) 512mb extra ram added when initially ordered from macmall.com

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
If you get a perfectly working iBook back this time, I don't think you'd have any basis to ask for a complete replacement. Why would they replace a working computer?
However, if I were you, I would call Apple Customer Relations and let them know that if something breaks again, you will be expecting a replacement computer. Be friendly and firm with them. Be prepared with the dates and details of the previous repairs (parts that were replaced, people you talked to on the phone and the length of time you were without your iBook). See what they have to say about that.
If they do agree to replace your computer if it breaks again, there's no guarantee they'll replace your iBook with a MacBook. Those details will have to be worked-out with your Apple Customer Relations contact. (In the U.S., you have to call AppleCare Support, ask to talk to an operator and then ask the operator to connect you to Apple Customer Relations.)

  • How can I get a free screen replacement from apple?

The other day, I brought my two week old iphone 5c to school and I dropped it on concrete. When I picked it up, I just put it in my pocket and kept on walking. when I took it out again, i saw the phone was smashed! i was so upset, since it was brand new and i hadn't even had  a chance to really go on it! The crack was HUGE! It's a huge spider web crack that spreads from the top way down to the bottom on the front screen. I was really confused cause my old phone was a crappy cheap little HTC and i had dropped it millions of times, and there isnt a single crack in it. My cracked iPhone is really new, and I payed for half of it! That was all my pocket money i had earned, EVER!!! I sent apple an email, but they just sent a stupid email saying, you cant contact us via email, for more information head to our website, blah blah blah! Seriously, don't they have time just to look at our emails?!  Anyway, that you can your screen replaced for free! If anyone knows anything about this, PLEASE comment!!!
    THANKS!

The chances of finding a Apple store to replacde just the screen is not very likely. If you get it done by another place it will void your warranty.
Now if you call Apple Care, just ask for a Senior Advisor, they do have the power to grant you a 1 time excetpion to replace your phone. Just don't be a dick, I am have personally replaced before it really just depens on the advisor and  a few other things.
They wont replace the screen, they will just replace the phone.
Now with that there a few ways to get it taken care of at that point and they will go over those options.
I wish you the best of luck.

  • Can I get my Iphone 4s replaced?

    Hello,
What types of reasons will Apple replace a Iphone?  I recieved my Iphone 4s on the first day of release and it always seemed like something was wrong with it. The phone has to search for a signal for awhile when first booting and occasionally even though it says I have 3g it says I'm not connected to a network. My Iphone also gets really hot for just surfing the web or something simple but this doesn't always occur. I have made sure to close out all running apps but it still runs hot regardless and I have also reset my network settings and my phone a few times but that hasn't helped either when the problems do occur. Recently my wifi doesn't always work even though it says it has a full connection so I end up having to turn it off then it works again in 3g but if I turn wifi back on it doesn't work again. Like I said this doesn't happen all the time but it happens enough since I've had it that I'm convinced something isn't right. I'm hoping to take it to the genius bar like I did with my 3gs and hopefully they will replace it. So will they replace it if the problems don't actually occur when I bring it to the genius bar?

Thank you for your quick response and I will try doing that today and see what happens. Hopefully it isn't defective but if these problems do continue to occur I will bring it to the genius bar to have them test it. I had a great experience at the genius bar the first time I went and I know they will help me anyway they can to figure out the problem.

  • MDR-1RBT DOA - Can't get warranty support to replace them - Angry Man

I am beyond frustrated. MDR-1RBT headphones worked for one day. Dead. Customer support said ship them for an exhcange. Loredo received them May 31, 2013. I've made 7 phone calls, been on hold or on the phone for around 5 hours, promised 4 call backs, have gotten nothing. I am angrier than you can possibly imagine.
How do you get Loredo to do their job? I'm tired of waiting for my replacement.

The headphones still have not arrived and I've been hung up on twice. They are due to arrive July 1, well over a month after the initial problem was identified.
Play this back in your mind. You're super excited about these shiny new awesome headphones. They are broken. You ship them back at Sony's expense (after arguing to not have to pay for shipping myself). You don't hear anything from Sony, ever. The headphones disappear into a black hole. You really want these awesome headphones. You wait and wait and wait. Nobody ever contacts you. Then magically about a month and a half later replacements show up on your door. No apology, no good will gesture, no nothing. This appears to be normal for Sony to do this.
Do you think anybody would feel good about this? Do you think anybody would be happy about this and say, gosh darn Sony is an amazing company. I'm going to buy many more Sony products. Wow, that was a fantastic experience. What reasonable person would ever want to buy a Sony product again?
The headphones were defective. I had them 1 day. I shipped them to you. They arrived over a month ago. Nobody ever contacted me about the repair after receiving the headphones. I made multiple calls to the exchange center in Loredo, apparently a contractor you use to replace broken products. I had some of the worst phone conversations with people at that service. The replacement headphones might arrive on July 1.
Initially, I was told they would send me replacements right away. Then I was told there was no stock to replace the headphones. I was strung along for weeks saying stock might arrive any day. When I was finally told last week stock would arrive - I was guaranteed, multiple times that the headphones would arrive on Friday and be shipped so I would receive them Tuesday or Wednesday. I requested and then demanded overnight shipping. I was told that NOBODY, nobody at Sony could authorize overnight shipping. That I would just have to wait. And then I was hung up on. Vivian is one of your worst customer service reps.
Headphones didn't arrive on Thursday I called to ask for status. Vivian answered the phone again. Gave me a FedEx tracking number and told me the order was "processed" on Monday. I made her wait while I checked status on the order. Of course the headphones didn't actually ship until Wednesday and they chose to ship them the slowest method possible from FedEx. The headphones are now supposed to arrive on July 1. Vivian hung up on me again.
Oh I will admit I wasn't super nice to her at this point. After 10 phone calls and over 8 hours on the phone, nobody should be nice to the people that answer the phone. In fact, she told only a half truth (and yes I called her a liar, probably should have called her a half truth person, you know that's a lot harder to say).  Yes the order was "processed" on Monday - but you know I don't care when you "processed" an order, I care about when the headphones will arrive. A week later is a huge difference over a few days.
You see Sony completely messed up with this. Nobody has ever offered an apology, or to do anything to make this right. The responses were always scripted. Scripted to get me to feel happy somehow and get me to end the phone call and not ask more questions. I was never contacted by email or phone. I had to ask for the case number. I had to ask for the FedEx tracking number. None of those things were offered up front - how can I find out more about this problem?
When I asked what could be done - every single time the answer was nothing, you just have to wait, we don't have a replacement. When I came up with good will gestures that might satisfy me, I was told no repeatedly. Everything was no to start with, never anything about how can Sony make this right. Nothing in the way of good will.
