Can I make the home page my new tab page?

I referenced [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/824876?s=make+the+home+page+my+new+tab+page&as=s] and attempted to use about:home for the url but nothing happened.
Thanks

The referenced link deals with a different matter; the user wanted a blank tab to open but was getting an arbitrary page opening instead.
In your case you might try one of the following Add-ons:
*New TabURL: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2221
*New Tab Hompage: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/777

  • How to remove the search bar from new tab page?

    I've added extra pinned site rows and columns on the new tab page.
    The new search bar is redundant and space hogging.
    Please provide how to disable in step by step instructions :)
    Edit:
    Answer
    1. Go to Firefox Profile Folder (go to about:support in Firefox then click Open folder/Show in Finder to get there)
    2. Open or create the chrome folder in the Firefox Profile Folder.
    3. Create a blank text file, copy and paste this code into the text file.
    @-moz-document url(about:newtab)
    #newtab-search-container, #newtab-search-logo { display:none !important; }
    #newtab-margin-top, #newtab-search-container { display:none!important; }
    4. Save it as userContent.css (using ALL FILES under the drop down menu)
    5. Place the new css file into the chrome folder.

    Fox_1923: You're not supposed to create a new chrome file but a <b>userContent.css</b> file in the <b>chrome</b> folder.
    You can use mine and <b>cor-el's</b> code together in the userContent.css file to get rid of the large margin in the top along with the search box. I've used it just fine in the latest Nightly and so have others who dislike the search box.
    One thing you could be doing wrong is not setting the file type to all Files and Notepad or whatever else you are using is adding an unneeded extension (for Windows, .txt = userContent.css.txt doesn't work!)

  • What are the shortcut keys for new tab page?

    It looks like the new tab page (Firefox 13, with the
    screenshots of your popular pages in it) is a mouse-only
    feature.
    Is this correct? What are the shortcut keys to access
    the links on the page?
    thanks,
    Patrick

    Hi,
    As of now there aren't (most likely) keyboard shortcuts. Please also see [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/new-tab-page-show-hide-and-customize-top-sites this] for working with the new tab page.

  • How can I make a setting so that new tabs bring up my home page?

    When I open a new tab I get this lame empty page. I want my home page to come up! I know I can just click on the home button to do this but how can I set up Firefox to do it automatically? PS when first opening Firefox there is no problem - home page loads fine.

    You can do that by using an add-on such as:
    * NewTabURL - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/newtaburl
    * New Tab Homepage - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/new-tab-homepage

  • Can I make the home and refresh buttons bigger and more toward the middle of the screen like in previous version?

    The new version 4 has made the home button WAY smaller and pushed it all the way to the right and made the refresh button WAY smaller as well. I think that they were grouped together in previous versions.
    I use those icons all the time and it's way more inconvenient now than it was.
    In fact, that was one of the main reasons that I liked FF better than IE was that those icons were bigger and, as such, much easier to hit quickly.
    Can I move or adjust the size of the icons in this version?
    Thanks

  • *** Can I make the small books less than 20 pages???

    I would like to make the books around 8-10 pages. Is this possible to do in iPhoto?

    BR:
    You can have only 8-10 active pages but iPhoto will pad the rest of the book with blank pages to get the minimum number of 20. It's due to the minimum number of pages that can be bound.

  • Can I make the home button go to the home screen again?

    The home button used to take you to the home screen, now it acts like a back button.  So, if I launch an app from a folder, then I press the home button, it will take me to the folder, not the homescreen.  Then, I have to either tap the button again (not to quickly or I'll go to the app killer screen), or tap the screen.
    I just want to tap the home button and go to the home screen again.  It makes it easier.

    No other way than the 2 you've already mentioned.

    How do I stop the new tab from opening. I can't find it in the options page.

    Tools>Tab Utilities Options... Then un-check Home under the Open new tabs group

    Hi,
    You can open a link in a new tab without leaving the page you're reading.
    All you have to do is to hold down the Ctrl key when you click the link (in Windows). You can also use the right mouse button and choose from the context menu.
    You can choose whether Firefox takes you straight on to the new page, or leaves you on the one you were reading while the new page loads. To control this, Tools > Options > Tabs, option "When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately".

  • Can't Change the URL of a new tab

    When I open a new tab it opens with (www.trovi.com/?gd=&ctid=CT3320047&octid=EB_ORIGINAL_CTID&ISID=M8690A469-2B12-490E-B6F5-2FEA1F0D3E00&SearchSource=69&CUI=&SSPV=&Lay=1&UM=6&UP=SPEAC0608F-A4FB-4D75-B66E-E5D6B7012B0C) I want it to open with Google Search, I have tried changing the about:config / browser.newtab.url , but it will not change, it does nothing.

    Bookmark and use this;
    Download the '''[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/ Mozilla Search Reset]''' {web link}
    This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up
    and then resets your search preferences and home page
    to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This
    affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.

  • BC Calendar_module: Can I make the calendar totally seperate on multiple pages in the site?

    I am designing a site that allows many businesses commonality to have their own sub page with  a personalized calendar of events on their page . The BC calendar module only allows you one module for all the pages with an imput of events, or news and a category preference.  Should I just purchase the "flash events calendar" extention plugin , the commercial product of it for unlimited across pages and sites product? I have unlimited companies that will buy in to the site, but the big thing is also that personalized event calendar. How should I do this?

    Hi Charles,
    That is the option that I can only think of as you've mentioned our calendar module will only output news and events item at this stage.
    I'll leave this open for discussion with possibly custom solution suggestions form the community.
    Kind regards,
    -Sidney

  • How can I make the URL change to show which page of flash I'm on?

    Hey, this is a bit confusing to explain, but say I have a
    flash site, just one swf file embedded in an html file. So you go
    to www.mysite.com/index.html, and you see the main page.
    In the flash site you have a button that just goes to a
    different frame in the movie, aka a different page. Thing is, the
    URL still shows index.html. This isn't a big problem, and is
    technically 100% correct, but what if you want people to be able to
    type www.mysite.com/gallery.html to access the gallery of your
    site?
    The only way I could imagine this working, is gallery.html
    would just be a redirection site, which would go to index.html with
    some arguments to go to the gallery frame of the site. or people
    could go to www.mysite.com/index.html?=gallery (I dont know how
    those setups work, is it PHP?)
    The main reason I don't just have many html pages with
    different swfs embedded in them is because then when you click a
    link, you see a quick flash as the browser loads gallery.html
    I am just wondering what the best setup is so all of your
    pages are seamless together, no flashes on page switches or
    anything, but while keeping differentiable URLs.
    My current site uses transparent iframes so that the page
    switch isn't noticable
    http://www.blindmanstudio.com
    but I still have the issue of the URL not reflecting what
    page you are on.
    http://www.blindmanstudio.com/test
    This is the version I am working on. it is full flash, so I am
    trying to learn actionscript3 to control it with. Note that that
    page is notwhere near done, and nothing works yet.

    SWFAddress is the solution you're looking for.

  • The new tab page is showing Gmail inbox pages, meaning anyone can start a new tab and get access to my email. How do I stop this?

    When I open a new tab, within the pages brought up is my gmail inbox. This mean anyone can have access to my inbox without logging in, without my password. How do I restrict this access?

    If you log out of Gmail, then clicking the thumbnail should take you to a login page. If you don't log out, then anyone can access your email just by typing gmail.com in the URL bar. But you're right that the picture does create a temptation to click...
    You can set the new tab page back to blank if you prefer. However, please note that the page thumbnails are stored in the browser cache, so you also need to clear your cache to flush out existing thumbnails if you don't want anyone to be able to see them.

  • How do I change the new tabs page from google to the thumbnail one?

    I just downloaded some stuff and when I got back onto Firefox it made the home page and new tab page Google. I changed the home page back but I'm unsure of how to make the new tab page the way it is with the thumbnails. None of the articles I've read helped.

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • My new tab page is missing and now when I type about:newtab in the Awesome bar I get a page called about:about. Help!!

    I use to have the grid of pinned webpages whenever I clicked on the X of a new tab page. Now it's gone. I figured out if I typed about:newtab in the Awesome bar it would restore the page, but not all the time. Now when I type about:newtab in the Awesome bar I get a page called about:about...and I don't want that. How can I get my pinned websites back on my New tab page?
