I need to have the default button only effect some of the controllers the VI you have in your example affects all items on my run page even my temperature and pressure measuring items is there a way I can segregate and isolate groups of items even if I have to use multiple right now I would be OK with that(actually almost prefer that).
You can make an array of references, containing references to all controls you want to reset and the simply autoindex over them in a FOR loop whenever needed to reset each to defaults. You could even match it to a boolean array in order to select which ones you want to reset at runtime.
Here's a rough draft (LabVIEW 8.5). Note that you can easily mix references for various controls (boolean, slides, etc). They will be coreced to the common generic class at the "built array" node.

Also I am very confused on the while loop setup I tried to place one in my setup and could not get anything to correctly work is there a good tutorial or something that can walk me through how to use it better than the books I received with the hardware.
Please tell us in what way "it does not work correctly". Most likely it's some trivial thing.

  • Can I place a "Return Button" within a clip?

Is it possible to place a button within a video clip that would enable a user to return to the previous menu? I am using submenus and to return to the submenu requires going back to the main menu and then back into the submenu.
    24 inch iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Is it possible to place a button within a video clip that would enable a user to return to the previous menu?
short answer is no. However you can add a button for the main menu
If you have a project with submenus, you can add a button that viewers can click to go back to the main menu.
To add a button for the main menu:
Open the menu where you want to add the button and choose Project > Add Title Menu Button.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can't get sub vi to process button pushed in main vi.

I'm trying to control whether or not data will be written to a spreadsheet through the use of buttons on my main panel. I have 5 sets of data and want to be able to tell the program when to save them by pressing a button. To do this, I created 5 sub vi's with the data as the inputs and a boolean control input representing the button. I then created a case structure inside a while loop, displaying nothing when the boolean is true (so the while loop just loops over and over again doing nothing when true) and saving it to a file when it is false, i.e. when button is released. for some reason, even though i wired the button to the appropriate terminal on the sub vi, when i release the button in the main vi, nothing
happens. the loop in the sub vi seems to always read the boolean as true, not comprehending my action in the main vi. However, if I release the button directly on the panel of the sub vi, it comprehends immediately and displays a dialog box for saving. any suggestions?
    thanks a ton

    Hello Kim,
I'm attaching my main vi along with 2 of the sub vi's i want to use within it. As you can see in the main diagram, there are 5 while loops that I want to place in sub vi's, but can't because of the problem I described earlier. I tried the global variable approach with no luck, perhaps I'm not implementing it properly though.
i look forward to your response
    thanks again...

  • How can I add Internet browser back/forward buttons to the main toolbar?

The developper of the software I'm testing manages to open
web-pages in a window within our software. We find this a great
feature, although it has one downside: no back/forward buttons the
users have gotten used to thru standard Internet browsers.
Is there any way to add these classic Internet browsing
buttons to the main toolbar of a WebHelp output? I've noticed them
on some other outputs (HTML-help if I'm not mistaken).
I've noticed some similar topics in this forum, but the seem
to discuss the browsing sequence buttons, which we find less
    usefull.
    Thanks for looking into this!

    Hi Olivier
Take a look at my Skinny on Skins file. There are
instructions inside on how to accomplish this.

  • How can I place all of my navigation buttons (forward, back, refresh/stop, home) to the left of the URL field?

I never liked having the navigation buttons spread across the top. Seems logical and more convenient to have them all in one place. I do not see a way to customize their placement.

You can open the customization window and drag them to their positions at the left.
Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"

Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).

  • How can I place a Lightroom 3 image gallery in a Dreamweaver page?

I would like to use an image  gallery that I built in Lightroom 3 in a Dreamweaver CS5 website. I  would like the image gallery to operate on my Dreamweaver page, not to  be re-directed to a different page.
I'm pretty sure this  is possible, but in my search for help in the forums, books, etc., I am  not having much luck. Perhaps I'm using the wrong search words? Help to  direct me would be very much appreciated. Cheryl B.

You'll need to work in CodeView.
Copy the relevant code from your image gallery page into your site page.  Adjust paths to images & scripts as necessary.
Another simpler approach, insert an iframe into your site page. Point the iframe src to your gallery.html page.  Adjust iframe height and width to accommodate the size of your gallery page.

  • I had ff3.6 and uninstalled to download ff 4 but i did not any find download button on the main page.

i just want to install the ff4 if you could tell me how. i mean , where i can find the download button. it just not appear on my screen. i also try to follow the step from troubleshooting, but it did not work.

If the http://getfirefox.com website doesn't have a big green "Download" button for you, then you can download Firefox from FTP. See http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/4.0/
Please let us know whether that works.

  • AOL is attempting to force users to use their toolbar and not Firefox's and sports a Firefox logo along with an "update" button on the main page. Screen shots.

I use Firefox and access my AOL from there. When I get to the AOL homepage, before logging in to email, as of yesterday there was a banner across the top with the Firefox Logo saying to click here to download the new AOL/Firefox upgrade.
When I clicked, it went to "exe.aol/toolbar" and supposedly an AOL webpage to download their toolbar.
Sounds like AOL is fraudulently using Firefox's name in order to get people to download an AOL toolbar.

hello kincaidjesse, please report that at https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/legal/fraud-report/ so mozilla can investigate that and take further actions if necessary. thank you!

  • Default buttons in Swing

I've done this before but can't remember how now. How can I make a JButton the "default" button in a JFrame, such that if I hit enter while keyboard focus is on any component in the frame (that doesn't intercept the Enter keystroke itself), it's the same as clicking the button with the mouse?

    hi,
if you are working with keyboard you need to have a keytyped-method. So if the return-key is pressed just only work with this button.
    example:// ...
    JButton jb=new JButton("Press Return");
    public void keyTyped(KeyEvent e){
      if(e.getKeyCode()==// the variable for return)
// do whatever the button should do
    }regards

  • Adding a "revert to defaults" button

    jpdk 1,3
I'd like to add a "revert to defaults" button
on my customize page. When I use PortletRendererUtil.renderCustomizeFormHeader(pr, out, null, "action", null, null) Only the 'apply' and 'ok' buttons are rendered. Do I have to do it manually or is there a utility I can use to do this?
    thanks,
    -sancho

You are right - the PDK article "Guidelines for Portlets in Edit Mode" describes such a button, which currently the JPDK doesn't support. Looking at some of the default portlets on a Portal home page, it would seem that the convention is now for this button to be called "Reset to Defaults". I have logged bug 1771249 against the JPDK and bug 1771238 against the articles to sort out these issues.

  • Is there a way to change the defaulted (press 'Enter or Return on keyboard) button in a dialog box? Specifically,

When the cookie preference is set to "ask every time" the default button (highlighted & selected when I hit return or enter) is "allow." Can I change the default button to "allow for session" so I don't have to use the mouse to select it?

Your question/suggestion got me thinking about making a programmable function key (PFK), but I couldn't think how to make a PFK represent a mouse click. Then I tried the option [ ⌥ ] key (I don't have Alt [⎇ ] ) and the s, with or without the shift. I tried the command [⌘] key, and finally the control [⌃] key with the s — that's the one that worked. 8¬D
I remembered scripting radio buttons, which might apply here, but it's been too long ago.
Thank you for pointing me in a new direction, that will do well enough 'till I find out if the default button(s) can be changed in dialog boxes in general.
