I have just upgraded the Pro to 16Gb and the MacBook is SO slow. Just wondering if I could use the old RAM.

204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM, non-ECC (non parity), unbuffered.
MBP8.1, 8.2 or 8.3;
204-pin PC3-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM, non-ECC (non parity), unbuffered.
PC3 is the same as DDR3. the number is peak transfer rate (approximated).
Further reading suggests your swap may work, but it's not guaranteed. If you get 3 beeps on start up (or the sleep light flashing in bursts of 3), first check it's correctly seated, but be prepared to swap them back.
If you encounter any instability or kernel panics, change them back.

You should be able to call the iPad using your Apple ID from the iPhone. When calling from iPad use the iPhone's phone number to initiate the call.

There are two easy fixes to this.
One, you can set up Family Sharing, in which you can have two different iCloud Accounts, yet still share the same apps, music, media etc.
Two, go to Settings and turn-off "Handoff". This can be found under the General page.

Mine has four Seriously shauntana the splitter is easy, a simple click to changre feed and eventually you will damage the HDMI port or cable by taking it in and out. True you can only use one feed at a time nut you can only use one port on the telly at one time too. I used it on my old one port telly for PS3 and Sky and it worked a treat.

I just bought a 2.5GHz MBP, and I will be ordering 4GB of RAM from Crucial. We also have a 1.83GHz MacBook, which has only 512 MB of RAM installed at the moment...
Can I use the RAM that will be left over from the MacBook Pro in my MacBook, so that it will have 2GB (its maximum)?

I just upgraded my new mbp from 4 to 8gb. I have a friend with what I think is an early 2009 mbp. Can I take my two 2gb (4gb total) chips and put them in his?
Also, if his is newer, same question. I know that recently (not sure when exactly) the memory cap was raised to 8 on the mbp. So I'm wondering if it's a different kind of chip that wouldn't be compatible with older mbp's.

You can try it, but it may not work, because your RAM is faster than what's specified for his machine. It should downclock to the speed of his system bus, but it doesn't always.
To use 8GB in an early-2009 MBP, it must be running at least OS X 10.6.6 and have the latest Apple firmware update installed on it.

Ipad and Iphone show offline on find my phone, but they are both on, what am I doing wrong

My iphone was lost and im trying to locate it using find my phone however it says all devices are offline!
I have my Ipad thats connected to the same apple id and the find my phone is enabled and im currently connected to my home wifi as well as hotspot, but, it says offline!
What am I missing, please help me fix this so I can attempt to find my phone!

If the location of the device is unknown, then it will show up as offline. It's quite possible that your router has not been properly registered by your provider to show its location. Also your device has be be turned on and connected to wifi.
As for iphones, they shouldn't have this router problem, since they are also connected to cell towers.
Did you ever test all your devices before, at home, to see if they could be located. If they were found, then my hypothesis in the first paragraph is probably not correct. You might test your ipad at another location, like a mall to see if you can find it using the Find My iPhone app.

I lost my contacts and mail folders on my exchange server but they are still on my MAC. How can I resync?

I run both a MAC and a PC with two different mail clients Entourage vs. Outlook. I have never had a problem with the clients syncing with the Exchange server until I did an archive of all emails in outlook that were older than this year. Now some subfolders have disapeared on the PC and the Exchange server but still show up in Entourage. How can I resync Entourage to the Exchange and have Exchange server "accept" the Entourage folders as correct?
Also I use an Iphone and backup to the icloud. So why did my contacts disapear from the iphone and are not restored via icloud? The missing contacts also disapeared from exchange.

Have a macbook pro running osx lion, connected a kindle fire using micro usb to transfer pictures and the disk icon won't show up on the desktop. When I ran disk utilities the kindle does show up there. Any thoughts as to why it's not recognizing?

if the computer cannot be turned on, one option would be to remove the hard drive and put it in an external enclosure that can be connected to the working computer.

Once you have enabled find my phone in your iCloud settings on your phone and find my mac in iCloud settings on your Mac, you can log in at iCloud.com and see both devices on the Find my Phone feature there.
