Can i Rma that card? 680 Twin Frozr

Hi all.
My card: Msi Gtx 680 Twin Frozr. I have max temp 70c while benchmarking and playing Crysis3. 65-68 C are in other games.
Can i RMA that card? We all know that 70C is a first throttle point.
On review sites , max load temps for that card are max 65.
We all know that is Twin Frozr cooling and i should get little low temps even on Crysis 3 or benchmarks.

Last thing.
But i am little worried , because i saw a few videos on youtube with that card, and there are max 59-61C on games. Not like mine 70C.
Don't be worried.
60-70C under load are normal temps for a GTX 680.
Many things are involved here: ambient temp, case structure and airflow, number of case coolers, ...

  • UEFI GOP request for GTX 680 Twin Frozr iii OC

I'm interested in getting a UEFI bios for my 2GB GTX 680 Twin Frozr OC.
    Serial number is 602-V282-080B1210047538
Current bios is listed as 80.04.47.00.39 (P2002-0000). I saw from the instructions that I was supposed to upload my current bios, but I can't seem to either make an attachment or post an external link. Let me know if you need it and I can post a link to copy.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Help flashing UEFI bios for my GTX 680 Twin Frozr III 2GD5/OC

    Hi,
I am very new to flashing graphics card bios, so i need some instructions as to how to update my bios to the latest UEFI GOP version. I am using a Z77 platform with Windows 8 Pro and I'm looking forward to the super fast boot times
Here is my current bios file: **http://www.filehosting.org/file/details/434943/GK104.rom**
Here is my serial number: 602-V282-020B1205147435
My model: MSI GTX 680 Twin Frozr III 2GD5/OC
    Thank you

I have followed the steps you said, but had a few hiccups on the way:
    1) when i was flashing the rom, i was told in the command line dialog box that the pci vendor identification/verification was mismatched, i was prompted to override verification and i pressed "y". Is that ok ? In total, i had to press "y" 2 times as opposed to once as said in your instructions.
    2) After flashing bios, I restarted and disabled CSM (compatibility mode) support. My PC booted fine and i reached the lock screen. But when i entered the password, I was introduced to a black screen with only the cursor showing over it. Then my pc crashed with the error IRQ_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL_TO
    3) I restarted and logged back again, but was introduced to the same black screen again, but i could gain access to the control panel with CLT+ALT+DEL and it was filled with error reporting tasks. I restarted the third time and finally could log back in without any crashes or black screens, but windows came up with a prompt that it had run into an error and needs to report it.
I am suspecting that it had something to do with the driver or the verification.
    PLEASE HELP. Thanks

  • Msi Gtx 680 Twin Frozr, cold boot noise

So about 3 out of every 10 times I turn on my computer, it sounds like one of the fans running at full speed or something, it's very loud.
I dont know what it is . Its like rattling noises, grinding noise only on cold boot. When Windows start then all is quiet. I think its from graphic card.
Sometimes all is quiet when i boot pc, sometimes not. Its very rarely , and only when i booting pc and when windows start all is quiet.

Quote from: xmad on 16-October-12, 23:01:43
Perhaps some clarification is in order.
Is the fan spinning at full speed sometimes or making funny noises like the fan isn't spinning correctly.
You have two entirely different discriptions going on here. Running a full speed is one thing, grinding or vibration noises are another.
While it is working correctly use afterburner to increase the fan speed to 100%, there shouldn't be any rattling or grinding or anything. Same thing at start-up, they may goto 100% in reverse to clear dust, but they shouldn't grind or rattle.
You say: "Same thing at start-up, they may goto 100% in reverse to clear dust, but they shouldn't grind or rattle."
But Msi Gtx 680 Twin Frozr III dont have that feature.   <--- I have that card.        Only Gtx 680 Lighting got it.

  • Do I need another RMA? N560GTX Ti Twin Frozr II/OC

    Hey folks. Hi Svet.
Question: So, uh, is there something wrong with 560 GTX Ti based cards?!
I bought the card in February. It went flaky and was RMA'd in June.
    Thread here: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=149374.msg1109239#msg1109239
They sent me someone elses' repaired card, or a new card, but it hasn't lasted even 5 months of near zero use! I put in the replacement, and it seemed to work fine; ran all benchmarks and tests when I first installed it. And never gave it another thought.
I haven't had much need for 3D or gaming, I certainly haven't had time to game all summer. I mostly web browse and photo edit, and for that it's working fine. I'm mostly in linux and the only OpenGL work I do is rendering/modelling in Blender. In case you don't know, consumer 3D like 3D Vision doesn't work under linux.
Fast forward to today. Some family were over, the kids wanted to play with the cool 3D glasses, so I fire up Win7x64 and an OLD game (TOB: HL2 & Portal) and it looks horrible!
The white "fire flies" are everywhere, it looks kind of like a sports stadium filled with camera flashes going off. The textures are not only tearing, but the colors are freaky (mostly primary colors - white, magenta, blue) and tons of flickering. The textures are flickering individually. 3D or non-3D it's the same. You can still play, but of course you can't see. And eventually, it locks, and you have to reboot.
Trying to run Kombustor at just 1280x720 results in garbled video and finally the app crashes or hangs. The "furry" text is all interconnected, like there's extra faces or something.
The card has never been overclocked (beyond factory OC)... 880/1760/2100 MHz. Re: temps, in 2D it's always around 34C (and it never gets over 54C before crashing.)
The system is stable and runs just fine, until you throw something graphically-intensive at it, like gaming. Then the card goes boom.
This is with the 285.62 driver, I've also tried the 280.26 from the MSI site with the same results.
I'm pretty sure this is a hardware issue, the reason I'm posting before RMAing is, what should I do here? I do NOT want to RMA this thing just to have it die again. I want a stable system, period. The card should last indefinitely, at least until it's so old no one would bother using it! And with solid caps replacing that first-to-fail point of electrolytics, this should be easily attainable! I know MSI won't ever say if there's a design flaw with the chip nor the card, but you guys are another story. Could I, for example, get an RMA unit and then flash it so it will be a slower, ordinary 560GTX? Obviously I could, what I mean is, would this make the card survive longer? I'll take stable over speed any day of the week.
As you can imagine, I'm frustrated. And POOR, which makes matters worse - I can't swap it out even if I wanted to.
Well, thanks for reading. Any help appreciated.

  • How do I get itunes to accept my credit card information?  If I enter Mastercard, it won't keep the security code.  If I enter a Visa, it tells me I can't use that card even though that is the card I was using before the Mastercard

I have updated my account.  I have a Mastercard as my method of payment now after switching from a Visa.  My phone and computer will not retain the security code for this card, so I can't access the store on my devices.  I tried switching back to the Visa card and iTunes tells me I can't use that card

The card information must exactly match the issuing bank's billing records precisely. Often this is not a discrepancy with the security code, but an address or ZIP code that is not an exact match.

  • Help gtx 680 twin frozr whining

Hi everyone. I've recently built a new system with the following specs
    Fractal r4 design
    Z87x d3h motherboard
    i7 4770k
Antec true power new 650 watts
And gtx 680 twin froze with 2gb
My only problem seems to be bad coil whine however this never occurs during stress tests like furmark. Normally it occurs in games like doshonoured when I don't cap the fps to say 75. Even worse is StarCraft 2 particularly during the campaign. Constant loud whining. Is there anything I canto fix this? And why doesn't it always occur when the GPU is stressed and only in some programs? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the help I do remebeber in my old system with a HD 7850 sapphire oc and the same antec to 650 PSU there was a mild level of coil whine during the menus of oblivion and also in dota. Now with the 680gtx its gotten worse in dota and sc2 and has stopped in oblivion strangely. Could this point to the psu being more likely the issue? Or is whine in GPUs a really common thing?

  • MSI GTX 680 Twin Frozr III OC edition

    Hey guys,
First post and I know it's a bit of a long shot but does anybody know where I can get one of these cards.
Have one already and have been very happy with it so I want to go SLI.  Don't want to buy a new 780ti or whatever as I know I can get a cheaper 680 and get the same if not better performance by going SLI with what I have.
I know you can mix and match brands but I really want 2 of the same.  Have looked on Ebay and they do pop up now and again but just wanted to know if anybody has any ideas, or even has one in a box that is unused.
    Thanks
    Ian

GTX680s are out of producation for quite a while. ebay is your only hope so far. Shops that still have GTX680s are often selling those at totally insane prices. A 780ti would be a better idea. SLI strongly depends on driver and SLI profile support and may feel laggy despite high fps. One high-end gpu is always better than two lower classed cards in SLI.

Decompress the provided .rar archive with Winrar: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Then flash the desired file included with Nvflash for dos: http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/nvflash_download.html
To do so rename the included file to .rom and create a dos bootstick (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=165175.0)
Put nvflash and the vbios file on it and boot from the stick. Then type nvflash -4 -5 -6 gop.rom (if renamed vbios that way) and hit enter. Confirm the questions and let the tool flash.

  • MsI Twin Frozr 680 getting 70C in Unigine

Hi all. When i am running Unigine 4.0 on Ultra details my GPU reach 69-70C. Its ok or not?
Please explain me, thx. Because maybe i try RMA that card. Thx. Cheers.
Also i dont get any artifacts . Games runs smooth. No problems. But that temps on Unigine?
    My pc:
    Asus Sabertooth Z77
    I7 3770K
    8gb ram
    BQ DARK POWER PRO 1000W
    drivers 310 WHQL
    Case: Centurion 590C

Yes, it's a fine temp. GTX 680 cards with Nvidia's reference design would stay at above 80°C under load. The maximum GPU temperature of GTX 680 is 98°C: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-680/specifications

  • Issue with Gtx 680 Twin Froz? 3dmark 11 scores

Hey guys. I will be very greatful. Can somebody make for me 5 loops from a row in 3dmark 11 in performance mode?
I ask because i have very difference results. For me , my scores are fluctuating too high. Scores are too much variant.
If somebody make 5 loops and paste here scores ok? Please , please. Cheers.
    pc:
    3770k 3.5 stock
    Msi Twin Frozr Gtx 680
    8gb ram
    301 whql
Please have the same clocks on cpu and gpu on that loops.
What is your biggest difference in points between score to next score?
I mean from a row. Score to next score, from a row. So i ask about first 5 scores.
Many peoples have that differences much smaller , like variances of 10-20+ points.
Next thing is that my friend have Gtx 680 Twin Frozr and that card on my computer have much smaller fluctuations, like 10-25 points. Why my card have 40-59:(? I want RMA card. What now?
But maybe, if somebody will be have similiar like me differences of 40-59 points i will be more patient.
    Look,that are my scores:

Both cards work perfectly alone.  I can even get a 50 hertz overlock in afterburner on both cards.  If it is the board were can I buy a good sli bridge that is reliable.  One thing I noticed is the bridge seems kinda loose on the connectors.  It is really easy to pull it off unlike my old crossfire bridge i had.

  • Re:560GTX Twin frozr II-What does MSI mean when they say 20% cooler?

Surely it can't mean that literally? I'm currently running FEAR3 at 80c with this card, does this mean i'm really at 100c if i use another 560GTX that's not twin frozr II? or if i'm running Black Ops at 64c now, does this really mean its 80c? Pls explain the parameters of this feature bec. when i saw my temps in FEAR3 i suddenly wondered what that claim was all about. My old GTX275 had almost same temps so what's with the new twin frozr II? Pls don't suggest an RMA bec the card ain't broke. it idles at 37-38c that means the cooling mechanism works its when it loads heavy games that it acts up.

Quote from: Bernhard on 20-July-11, 14:45:52
Disconnect the front 120mm and the bottom 80mm. Only leave your extraction fans and the side fan on and retest. This way the extraction fans will pull in the air and you may have a more "smoothed" flow of air.
With an ambient temp of ~29C your load temps with the side panel open are actually excellent, as the temp increase is only about 30C.
It most certainly looks like an airflow shortage for the GPU with your side panel on.
I for one like the cases with fully meshed side panels for that reason. Good example http://www.aerocool.us/pgs/pgs-b/bx500.htm
Ok i did what you suggested and while the peak temp in the Witcher 2 was 75c it didn't stay there too long, it settled at around 67c-68c and note this is with the computer case closed. i didn't bother test it w/ an open case bec. i know the peak won't even touch 71c i'm sure. My conclusion therefore is even w/ a closed case, the temps are nothing to worry about, is this a safe assumption now that we've tested this card w/ 3 different top games, Witcher 2, Bad Company 2 and Black Ops?

  • N570GTX Twin Frozr III Power Edition/OC

    Hello,
I have exactly the same issues like the OP.
I bought my video card (N570GTX Twin Frozr III Power Edition/OC) 3 days ago and my video card is showing exactly the same symptoms as described by the OP.
I was able to play 2 evenings after hours of problems where my computer system was showing the same artifacts immediately after turning it on. When the system succeeded to boot to Windows the nvidia driver kept crashing over and over again if I did not receive blue screens.
Surprisingly after booting again and again and again and... the system was eventually stable to play 2 hours. After shutting down and turning the computer on again the same problems reoccur.
I did not RMA the card so far because I was trying to isolate the conditions where the card is running stable. I was not successful so far.
My nvidia 8800 GTX works like a charm. All, and I really would like to point that out, all other components are 6 weeks old! Last component I exchanged because of the graphics issues was the PSU. After exchanging the PSU the problem was gone for 15 mins.
@RelevantToSome: Looks like I am using the same memory like you... Compatibility issue?

Quote from: Bernhard on 06-October-12, 05:51:32
Test your 570 in another know working system with a similar GPU.
Are you talking about a similar CPU or GPU?
Of course, both is not available!
Quote from: Bernhard on 06-October-12, 05:51:32
My initial suspicion is a PSU or the card itself.
Quote from: Bernhard on 06-October-12, 05:51:32
Yes, on paper the PSU should be OK, but it may not have the available amps as claimed, i.e. could be defective.
At least it has enough amps to run the card and while measuring power consumption my whole system sucks 392 watts, ~140 watts less than the PSU manufacturer claims for the 12V rail alone. And the PSU does not really seem defective because when the system manages to boot up it runs without problems hours and I would expect the system would run under full pressure even 24 hours.
Quote from: Bernhard on 06-October-12, 05:51:32
If the card works on another system, then test your PSU on the other system.
I have no other system available to disassemble completely. I have 2 PSUs here. Both show the same symptoms...
I purchased this PSU because I also thought my PSU might be defective...
Quote from: Bernhard on 06-October-12, 05:51:32
We can't support your MB, but your BIOS may need an update. Check the MB manufaturers BIOS release notes.
Just for interest, what is the relation between BIOS update and a card showing artifacts immediately after turning the computer on?
Ofc I will flash my BIOS just to sort that out...

    Greetings,
I have two GTX 680 Twin Frozr 4gb cards in sli.  I have this problem when sli is enabled my two monitors and HD TV flicker randomly once in awhile.  The worst part is when I play games or look at 3d video the video drivers crash and most of the time I have to restart my computer.  Sometimes I can use control -Alt-Delete and it will be ok.  I have test both cards without sli in both PCI express ports and this problem does not occur until I enable sli.  I am using the sli bridge that came with my Z68A-GD80 (G3) board.  Could it be a bad sli bridge?
