There will be no official 64 bit version of Firefox for Windows for some time, there are currently only test versions. I recommend not using the 64 bit version and just sticking with the official 32 bit version.

Not sure if you are still having an issue, but I've encountered similar problems with more recent OS'. I am NOT AN EXPERT HERE so I want to make that clear. I may not be 100% correct in my understanding.
To my understanding, OS X Lion was the last OS that you can run 32-bit kernels on, but most people seem to prefer Snow Leopard for this task due to better legacy support and how 10.6.8 Snow Leopard is an extremely reliable OS. For Mountain Lion and later, you more or less run the compatibility mode that is the same context as you can do from Windows 8.1. I've had limited success here. I have a copy of OS X Snow Leopard so I can run at 32-bit installed on my hard drive and run OLD apps that do not like Yosemite. As I am running it through VMWare Fusion 7, I can't tell you if you can run Snow Leopard in 32 bit mode via a secondary install or not (I think it depends on your hardware and if your hardware shipped with Mountain Lion or later, then this is NOT possible even if booting through a 32 bit-capable OS...I COULD BE WRONG!)
One other option is if you have an old copy of Windows XP or something, you can do a 32 bit install through a virtual machine and update the firmware through the VM (obviously you would need drivers to allow it to recognize USB or Firewire or etc. devices to update the FW of a hardware component, which Parallels and Fusion are both capable of and do very well...but they are paid (free trial for both). Oracle has a VM which is free, but I do not know much about its functionality.) There are even certain software apps made to run older programs on OS X reliably...I do not know if they would be of benefit in your case or not.
Obviously that is a little bit of a pain but truth be told, I find that both Apple and Microsoft OS' have limitations when attempting to run older programs on newer OS. Old programs don't tend to run well on Yosemite or Windows 8.1, despite the fact that the operating systems themselves are reasonably reliable. I don't blame them as it seems this is just something that is very difficult to do reliably in a world where new technology is favored over legacy support. So that is why I have a 32-bit capable version of both OS X and Windows in addition to the current respective 8.1 and 10.10.2.
If this is a one-time deal and you do not think you will need to do the same thing down the road, you could skip all of the above and just borrow a computer from a friend with a 32-bit OS, or even go to a Fedex Kinkos or something and see if they will let you run the application from there. A lot of Mac users do have Parallels or Fusion on their Mac so someone local might be able to help you out. As Snow Leopard was the last OS to incorporate certain hardware support, it is still used extensively (some estimate it is used on around 1/4 of all Macs).

My model is the mid 2012 model. I am running the adobe collection for mac, I want to run the windows versions. Is it possible? What is the most ram I could access using something like fusion 5, assuming I could get fusion 5 to work? would it refuse to run because of the intel chipset and lack of video card?
If I'm wrong and there is a way to add a video card to this model, could some version of fusion and windows 7 access more than 2 gb operating ram?
What cost would I be incurring, and would it be cheaper to buy a windows laptop with more ram than I could access via a virtual machine?

Additionally, I have very large files I want to transfer via ethernet or firewire so that the transfer will take less time and be more secure than wifi. I resist apple's trend to make every machine a disposable toy that is viable only a year or so. I have read reviews that label the mbp it a poor value compared to the air. If all you need to do is text and communicate via wifi, many devices will sufice, and an air is certainly the most elegant. But what about the cost of large ssd's and protecting the drive against damage from shock? I want to be able to move this thing around and the small size is much safer inside my padded bag when I sit in narrow airplane seats, crowded trains and other congested spaces. I am much more likely to be able to borrow a large screen in a client's office ( with the use of one of the three adapters I had to buy) than to be able to borrow a dvd drive that has drivers for mac os 10.8.2. I suspect this may be the last generation of machines that have optical drives and ethernet, and that was why I purchased it so that I could continue to do work into the next few years. I am impressed by the retina display, but I need long battery life. And as beautiful as the retina display is, it is even more of a problem when trying to cross platform with the windows world. I wish I could infuence apple to do a trial product flow for a machine designed to work with 80% of the business world that uses windows. How spectacular that would be. With all their expertise and adept hardware design, to create a machine that cross platforms better than a windows machine itself works? Now that would be an accomplishment. Instead of 8 or 9 percent of the total computer sales, why not aim for a higher percentage? Smart devices will keep moving toward portable computers in power, anyway.

Fusion should work on your machine and if you put 16 GB of RAM in (see http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Apple_MacBook_MacBook_Pro/Upgrade/DDR3_160 0MHz_SDRAM), Fusion can access a good portion of that. Also, in a Virtual Machine, the guest OS is presented with Fusion's video card emulation, not what's in hardware on your Mac. Of course, finding Windows 7 now that Win 8 has been released could take some doing and the Win 8 Pro upgrade price is supposed to jump to $200 the end of the month. Add that to the price of Fusion and the extra RAM and you're beginning to get into the realm of low end real PC's.
As to cross platform, I assume you're aware of BootCamp (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1461).

I have tried downloading with the on-line flash player install but it hangs after downloading ~100kb.

Incredibly slow download, 205kb after 20 minutes from a broadband internet connection.
How do I resolve this? Who do I complain to, Adobe, Firefox or both? Updates should not be a problem with new equipment...

I have to remove and reinstall Flash Player 11.3 everyday! How can I fix it?

I use Firefox and IE. Everyday I have to remove and reinstall flash player to be able to use it. Every day I receive the message that I don't have F player installed and I have to download it. I check add-ons and I can't find it there but it's installed in program,s and features in my control panel. I'm usin win 7 32-Bit and I always download the latest 11.3 F player. I'm tired of going through the same process everyday! BTW, I delete all my cookies and browsing history every time I want to close my explorers. But it's not new I've always done that but the problem with the lawstest F player is quite recent since the first time I download F player 11.3! Please help me.

Adobe flash player 10 .01 and Adobe flash player 10.32 for Firefox

I was told to download the latest version of Adobe flash I believe, that was 10.32, because now I have delete it. Both players, because I couldn't get it to install. I have shut down the manager on Firefox version on 3.5 I really would like to know before I download anything else, which ones to my supposed to have been exposed to have both of them running on Windows XP home edition service pack three and Internet Explorer seven, because I didn't think I needed to upgrade that to eight, it probably just be more headaches. I don't know, I just mean is that anybody have any ideas let me know.

I originally uninstalled Flash Player 10 ActiveX and the Flash Player Plugin
thinking they would both be reinstalled with the newer version. When I installed
the newer version of Flash Player 10 ActiveX I noticed the Plugin was missing
and wondered what happened to it. I didn't know it needed to be downloaded
seperatly and I also didn't know what it was for exactly. As it is right now
everything works and since I'm not using any other browser - downloading
the Plugin isn't required. At least now I have an idea what the Plugin it was
intended for and know it's not needed.

3. Do not click on "Internet Explorer (64-bit)" or "Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

5. That will open Internet Explorer 8, 32-bit edition.
6. Now you can download, install, and use Flash Player. (It is used automatically on websites that support it.)
7. In the future, make sure you don't use Internet Explorer 64-bit edition. Delete any Internet Explorer shortcut icons that you were formally using. Make sure that any Internet Explorer icons that you now use, are opening the 32-bit edition. To see what edition you are using, click the question mark near the upper-right corner of a webpage and click "About Internet Explorer." Please help, I am running Windows 7 Home Premium and have problems with loading FLASH Player

Everytime I attempt to load Adobe Flash Player, it says it is installing but then I get a screen that say, must close Internet Explorer, which I do, then the down load continues. It eventually takes me to a window that is for Adobe Photoshop Elements 11, it loads a trial version and then eventually it says Flash Player successfully Installed.
When I go to open a web video, it says, you must have Flash Player installed to view this video. Which when i click on the Adobe download link, it takes me back through the same loop with the same results. Seaching in my programs it does not show Adobe Flash Player loaded, only the 32 bit version, which I am still unable to view web videos with>>>>
What is going on here? Do I need to download something additional to correctly install Adobe Flash Player? Please Help, Thanks in advance for your response and recommendations!

I recently installed Java 6 update 33, and adobe flash player 11 plugin, and now can't play any videos from any website in Mozilla, but Google Chrome works.

Cannot play any video from any website in Mozilla after installing Java 6 update 33, and adobe flash player 11 plugin. However, I can play videos from Google Chrome and also from Internet Explorer. For example, when I'm trying to play a you tube video in Mozilla, a black screen comes up with following error message: "An error has occurred. Please try again later."
(This is like the Wizard of Oz -- when the man comes to the little window in the door and says to Dorothy, "Come back tomorrow." )

This may be caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update.
