Can I set a role using a encrypted password ?

Sir,
I encrypt the role password using dbms_obfuscation package. Can I enable a role using such a password before decrypting it ?

dbms_obfuscation does not create passwords. A password is not something you can decrypt ! At least until today (maybe tomorrow...).
you can use the command of chris or simply
alter role ROLEX identified by 'SWATCH';
alter ROLE X identified by values '8E9A9A5413F0B5EE';

Thanks for that. Much more constructive than the last comment. It's only the restriction code I can't recall, not the access passcode. So I can currently access the device, just not age restricted content. Does that's make a difference? I also wondered if anyone knew how many attempts you get to try to get it right. Now tried 21 times and so far nothing bad has happened but I am concerned I'll eventually be completely locked out of the device. That doesn't seem in the spirit of things though. Surely it's foreseeable that a child could repeatedly try to guess the code so I can't see that it would be right to lock the device down completely in that circumstance, particularly if the access code is being typed in correctly every time.

I have a requirment where a set of approvers approve a form and at the end of the process i store the form as a pdf in the contentspace.
My requirment is that, can we set roles/permission for the file that i store in the contentspace and allow only the people who have approved the form to view/edit the content the the contentspace.
If possible what is the workbench activity should i use and how should i use it in the process?

There is a read/write permissions service in the Content Services category in workbench that will allow you to control the access to the space or th efile that you write intp CS.

Perhaps you should try creating a user that carries exactly the same authorizations for your intended user/s. Once created, you can then see if the infoarea can then be visible still.

WRT54G....Can I set DHCP to use the router for DNS instead of external DNS?

Hi folks. I cant' get my router to have DHCP tell my PCs that the router should be the DNS server instead of the external servers it is using. I am using Comcast Cable internet. It sets the external DNS servers for every PC that connects to it and I have problems finding my PCs on my network by NetBIOS name because the external DNS servers obviously don't store my local PCs. How can I set the router up to set DHCP to use the router for DNS?

If you cannot set the DNS server in the configuration page for the DHCP server in your router then your router does not support this.
This won't solve your problem though. The DNS server on the router is a simply forwarder. It simply forwards the DNS requests from your computer to the ISP's DNS servers. The DNS server does not accept dynamic updates to a private zone inside your LAN. And DNS is pretty much unrelated to the standard windows workgroup browsing which does the actual name resolution inside your LAN. That name resolution even works without a router inside your network. Basically all windows computers in your network periodically broadcast their name to the network. One windows computers is elected "master browser" which collects all these names and provides the name resolution service for all computers in the workgroup.
If this does not work it is most likely a windows configuration problem. It could be a software firewall on the computers which blocks traffic. It could be that the computers are not setup for file/printer sharing and thus have the computer browser disabled. It could be that your computers have a WINS server configured which does not exist. There are probably more causes. The better source to ask this question would probably a Microsoft support group. They deal with these kinds of issues more often and maybe a MVP may be able to point you into the right direction or give some links to step-by-step instructions...

No. you cannot set a password for individual Apps unless said App has that feature. Apple Apps like FaceTime do not.
. You can however use Restrictions to disable Facetime, and only enable it when you want to use it, by going back into restrictions and enabling it.
Settings->Restrictions->Facetime (Turn Off)
You'll need to enter the set password to enable / disable it each time.

We have a requirement where we need to decrypt the password of xelsysadm and connect to OIM and do the updates on usr.
I need help in decrypting xelsysadm password. Please help of anybody have implemented the same in their project. What encryption method OIM uses to encrypt users password or how can we decrypt xelsysadm password?
We are implementing a webservice which will call OIM API and will do the user updates. Inside the web service, we need to first connect to OIM DB. For that SOA component BPEL is calling the webservice. I need to implement the logic of decryting oim xelsysadm password here so that it can update user attributes in IDM DB table.
I have the code but I dont know what value should I provide here in "DBSecretKey".

I got the answer for my question. We just need to give OIM user id like xelsysadm to the code and the below code works fine.

I can't unlock my phone and I'm using the correct password. I'm at my final attempt to enter the password or ALL of my personal information will be lost!! I just got off of the phone with customer service and was told basically I'm going to lose all my business contacts & personal notes that I entered this morning during my morning meeting and that it's my fault because I didn't back it up!!! How the heck can I back up my device while during my company meeting?? I'm the owner and I have many notes and etc on my device that I put there this morning!!! Now I lose money because I can't get my information. I'm so ticked off right now!!! Customer service wasn't helpful at all...he just blamed me for my problem!! i have some questions about setting up an encrypted drive with different versions of osx installed on separate partitions, and how this choice effects time-machine and the emergency recovery disk.
I have a new/refurbished macbook pro with a SSD. it already has mavericks installed. i want to fully wipe the drive and reinstall everything my self because I'm odd like that.
first wiping the current drive
Does the recovery partition get wiped if i use disk-utility to reformat the drive. Even thought the recovery partition does not show up as a partition, when i look at it with disk-utility? i would like to know I've wiped all partitions so that no little bugger gets left with out me knowing. Disk-utility does not show the recovery partition and this makes me concerned it might not wipe it.
Does mavericks automatically make a recovery partition during the installation process? Or do i need to make a new 1gb partition for the recovery disk?
Can i have two different partitions on my drive with separate installations of OSX on it? (one for work that i don't update the system os till my current project is done, and the other for experimenting with new software.)

You'd set it the same way you do for a sqlplus session, for example. Use the SET ROLE command, which you can execute via an OracleCommand object and ExecuteNonQuery().
