Can I update a reference in a JPQL bulk update?

I have an InvoiceHeaders entity which has a many to one reference to an InvoiceStatus table with a small number of rows. What I need to do is to bulk-update a set of invoices, changing their status.
I tried
UPDATE InvoiceHeaders i SET i.status = (SELECT s FROM InvoiceStatus s WHERE code=:newCode) WHERE
i.status.code=:oldCode AND ....Eclipselink balks at the select, looks like it doesn't recognise subqueries in the SET clause.
SET status.code=:newCodeIs also rejected (and is plainly wrong anyway).
Is this doable?

Yes, that's what the error message suggested to me. But I can't see how you can set a reference without a subquery.

Just one suggestion to be able to reconnect all at once:
Create a smart album containing the images with missing masters:
File -> New -> Smart Album, and add a rule: File Status is "Missing" (or File Status is "offline")
Then select the images in this album and go to the File menu:
and select: File -> Locate referenced File
If you are lucky, Aperture will reconnect all at once, if you point the first image version to its counterpart.

Can't update master table when creating a materialized view log.

Hi all,
I am facing a very strange issue when trying to update a table on which I have created a materialized view log (to enable downstream fast refresh of MV's). The database I am working on is 10.2.0.4. Here is my issue:
1. I can successfully update (via merge) a dimension table, call it TABLEA, with 100k updates. However when I create a materialized view log on TABLEA the merge statement hangs (I killed the query after leaving it to run for 8 hrs!). TABLEA has 11m records and has a number of indexes (bitmaps and btree) and constraints on it.
2. I then create a copy of TABLEA, call it TABLEB and re-created all the indexes and constraints that exist on TABLEA. I created a materialzied view log on TABLEB and ran the same update....the merge completed in under 5min!
The only difference between TABLEA and TABLEB is that the dimension TABLEA is referenced by a number of FACT tables (by FKs on the FACTS) however this surely should not cause a problem. I don't understand why the merge on TABLEA is not completing...even though it works fine on its copy TABLEB? I have tried rebuilding the indexes on TABLEA but this did not work.
Any help or ideas on this would be most appreciated.

Thats what I thought, the MVL will only read data that has changed since it was created and wont have the option to load in all the data as though it was made before the table was created.
From what I have read, the MVL is quicker than a Trigger and I have some free code that prooved to work from a MVL using it as a reference to know what records to update. There is not that much to a MVL, a record ID and type of update, New, Update or Delete.
I think what I will have to do is work on a the same principle for the MVL but use a Trigger as this way we can do a full reload if required at any point.

Thanks to a Apple tech support agent we were able to find out the problem. If anyone else runs into the same problem. These are the steps you should take to fix the problem becuase more then likely you have had a jailbroken device on the computer that your using to do the update.
1.
-In TinyUmbrella unchecked the option that says "Set hosts to cydia on exit"
-Press Apply Changes
-QUit TinyUmbrella

-In terminal, write this:

sudo /Applications/TextEdit.app/Contents/MacOS/TextEdit /etc/hosts
-Press Enter
-Delete all lines that reference gs.apple.com
-Save File

Yes, ServerIntf is the interface type. The instance serverIntf. You declared it somewhere at the top of the routine.
So what you must do is call t=serverIntf.add(...)This is probably just a mistype.

Ichat wont force quit and i can't update

Who can I update primary key field in master block

Hi,
I want to update the primary key field in master block when there are some records are present in detail block, when I edit the primary key filed there is an error FRM-40509 unable to update record. The primary key is also referred by the detail table.
So kindly give me the solution who can I update the primary key in master block when there is child records exists in detail block?.

pls tell us a little more about, why you want to update a PK in a master block.
I haven't done that my whole time. Maybe you need something different.
The problem is, that your child-data references to the master-pk, so there is the point you have to go deep into the codings. But better don't do it. Tell us first why. I think there are other solutions for that.

Can internal page number references be tracked between versions?

I'm laying out a large reference publication that has dozens and dozens of references to internal page numbers, such as "For more information, please see illustration on Page 56", but these references get scrambled with every new edition. Is there a way to track these references so that they automatically update as the content reflows from version to version?

Yes, but it's... funky.
I use cross-references in InDesign documents, all the time. It's exactly what you're looking for; you put a Hyperlink Destination on whatever it is you need to refer to. You can choose a Page, an URL, or a Text Anchor. I always choose a Text Anchor, and if I need to refer to an illustration I always group the illustration with a caption and put the text anchor in the caption.
I do this because InDesign's method for handling hyperlink destination is, once again, funky. And when I use this word I do not mean "a good beat" but "it smells bad." Because summoning a list of hypyerlink destinations just gets you a list - you can't Go To Page or whatever, and if you chose a unique name for a Page Hyperlink Destination it's pretty much up to you to keep track of it, InDesign won't help you. If you choose Text Anchor you can actually see it in the text. (Assuming you have Type -> Show Hidden Characters turned on.)
Once you've set up your Hyperlink Destinations, you can Insert a Cross-Reference. It is a formattable variable that you can point to any Hyperlink Destination.
Unfortunately, cross-references really only work well when they're within a single file. Cross-file cross-references (for example, from one InDesign chapter file to a different chapter file) are a major performance hit, and make ID basically unusable.
So yes, there's a way, but it's not great. If you need a method that is great I'd suggest looking into DTP Tools' Cross-References Pro plugin for InDesign. I'm not related in any way to DTP Tools, I'm not even a customer myself, but 100% of the people who have bought the plugin on my recco have been very, very pleased with its performance.

HT1338 My computer will run on 10.5 and is currently on 10.4.11. Where can I obtain this reference release? 10.6 is beyond the spec of the machine.

I have inherited a 2005 IMAC G5 which will run on 10.5 Leopard but not 10.6 Snow Leopard. For my purposes it is still a serviceable bit of kit but it runs on 10.4.11 presently. I have upgraded the memory to 2.5GB but cannot seem to locate a copy of 10.5 anywhere. Does anyone know where I can obtain a legitimate reference upgrade from? Many thanks.

updated whenever a new object is entered into vector..You don't update the Vector directly. You should be creating a method in your TableModel, called "addRow(...)". This method will do two things:
a) add the Student object to the Vector
b) invoke the fireTableRowsInserted(..) method of AbstractTableModel. This will cause the table to be repainted.

Notes: I just upgraded to OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 on my iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011) in the last week. It’s the first time I’m tried to backup/update my iPad since the iMac update.
I swapped out the USB cable to a new cable and get the same results.
I also unplugged all other USB devices from the iMac and security on my iPad and still get the same results.
I find it strange that it shows no Serial number for my my iPad 2 when plugged in. It shows “Serial Number: n/a on the screen when it displays: “iPad Recovery Mode To update your iPad without erasing its contents, click Update. To restore your iPad to its factory settings, click Restore iPad.
I prefer to update my iPad, but it displays “Your iPad can’t be updated, you must restore it to factory settings. If you previously backed up the iPad, click Restore Backup after the restore process completes.”
It’s a continuous loop. I get the display on my iPad to plug in the iPad to iTunes, plug it in which ends after going through the above procedure saying an error occurred (9).
So now I cannot use my iPad. When I turn it on I get the display showing me to plug it into iTunes with the cable. Since this is the only option I have I plug it in and the loop begins.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Can't update in mysql

I am using JSP and MYSQL with a bean that does my database work.
my search.jsp looks up records, when I click edit it sends the values to my inventory_admin.jsp
When I make the changes to the data, the data is not saved in the database.

Your problem lies in your edit JSP form:
