Can I use an old Quick Time license number?

I bought Quick Time pro a few years ago and I just upgraded to a new iMac. Can I use that old license number? Or do I have to pay to upgrade to the latest version of the Pro software?
Thanks.

If the original registration was Mac and QT 7, then it should still be good. However, you are not supposed to be using it on two different platforms/applications at the same time. If the old computer is no longer in use and/or the the Pro registration has been removied, then you sould be okay.

can i use an old eprint email account with a new printer?

    Hello arbazu,
Unfortunately, when setting up a new/replacement printer, you wont be able to use the same email address, nor can it be transferred to another printer. Once an email is used, the email address itself is not able to be used for a certain period of time (which I believe is 6 months).
However, by creating a new email address, but adding an 01 or 02 at the end, you can get something very similar to what you had previously.

2 atv's both have home sharing enabled but one asks to turn on home sharing on my pc, but it is enabled on pc so I  can only use one at a time to watch movies from my computer

Both atv,s are on the same network, they are wirless and the computer can see them and they are named different.
what ever one i switch on first gets to stream from my computer and the other one asks for home sharing to be switched on, then if i switch both off and start the other one first it gets to stream and the other one which worked asks for home sharing to be turned on. i have hidden all functionality, netflix etc as these are for my 7yr old kids.

  • Can I Use an Old External Hard Drive to Back Up my MacBook Pro?

I am currently using a 2010 MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6.8) and I am thinking of upgrading to Mountain Lion when it comes out. So that means I should really back up my Mac. I have never backed up my Mac before nor have I ever backed up any of the PC's I owned in the past. With this being my first Mac and my first time backing it up I want to make sure I do this right.
So my question is can I use my old exteral hard drive (Got it back in 2004 for University. Used with a PC) to back up my MacBook Pro with out running into any issues if I have to restore my Mac??

yes.  connect it to the usb port, open disk utility, erase the disk and format to Mac OS Extended (Journaled).  That is the most common format.  Then backup as necessary.

  • Can I use my old TC as extended wifi over my new TC?

I just bought a 2TB TC, and it's working fine in bridge mode (because my provider uses NAT). My old 500MB TC (bought in 2008) is still working, so I wonder:
    1) If I can still use the old TC as an extended wifi. If so, how do I do it?
    2) If I can use the HD of the old TC as an extended HD, with my regular folders/subfolders/files on it.
    3) If I can access either my old or my new TC from a remote location over the Internet to get specific files. If so, how do I activate WAN? I can't see the setting on Airport Utility, though I've already enabled sharing there (on my new TC).
Thanks for any advise. I'm a newbie in this.

    Success! I was able to:
    1) Reconfigure my old TC 500MB as an extended wireless network to my base station, a new TC 2TB, by following the instructions in the link you provided.
    2) Erase my old files in the TC 500MB and replace this with my directory. Now it will serve as my archives. I don't have to refurbish them often since my new TC 2TB now acts as my Time Machine.
    3) Make both the base station and extended WiFi work, and each of the disks of the old and new TC too!
    HOWEVER, here's the sad part:
When I tried to connect to the old TC via Finder > Go > Connect to Server, I discovered that the address of my old TC is also dynamic, just like the address of my new TC.
Ungh. What recourse do I have to this problem short of demanding a static address from my provider (which I don't think they'll give, since they think a static address will lead everyone to establish a server business)?
Thanks in advance for whatever solution you might advise!

  • Can i use an old car charger with a usb port to charge my iPhone 5s?

Can I use an old car charger for a not smart phone to charge my iPhone 5s through the usb port?

    Usually you can!
check if the specification of charger (USB output) is 5V (very important) and at least 500mA (more power like 1000mA --> 1A allow you to charge greater devices like iPad)
But personally is not good idea, because in short/long time can damage or reduce the life of battery of your iPhone/iPad etc.
    Bye

  • HT5554 Can I use my old mobile number for my iPhone?

I want to use my old T-mobile phone number for my new iPhone 5 and I was wondering if this is possible. I don't really want to add all my contacts again as this is time consuming and I don't really have time to do that at the moment. The iPhone has this option to change the phone number and I wanted to know what this meant and if i can just enter my old phone number there and all my contacts would appear. Both my iPhone and my old Samsung phone use the same T-mobile tariff. Can someone help me?

Well, the number and account information are stored on the SIM card. You might need to check with them to tell them you are going to use a different phone, but normally you don't have to. That is the great thing about GSM and SIM cards. You just change out the SIM. I do not know, however if they require different plan information with an iPhone. Some carriers do.

No, you can't partition a Time Capsule's internal HD.  Both partitions will back up to the same sparse bundle. keeping the backups for each partition separate.
Time Machine will not take the two OSX partitions as two different computers, but for best results, exclude the Snow Leopard drive from backups on the Lion partition, and exclude the Lion partition from backups on the Snow Leopard partition.
There may be some files on the Lion partition that Time Machine on Snow Leopard won't like, among other things.  See #10 in  Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions for details.

  • HT4864 Can i use my old email address on ICloud?

Can i use my old email address on ICloud?

iCloud mail handles only its own emails - you can't collect mail from other accounts as you could with MobileMe - so all you can do is set up forwarding from other accounts to iCloud. However you can only use the iCloud address as the 'From' address when using its outgoing server, so when you are using your Mac or iPhone you are better off setting up other accounts separately in the Mail app. Only when using iCloud webmail will this then be an issue.
