Can I use my ipad3 for internet access in Italy?  If so, how?

Going to Italy next month and am hoping to use my ipad3 in Italy.  I'm sure I can use the non-internet dependent features, but how might I use the internet (for email and Skype).

You can get a local sim card and data plan. Or, you can connect using wifi the same way you do at home.

Ghz is the CPU speed and that is fixed for each iPad model.
The GB is the number of Gigabytes of storage.
I had a 32G iPad1 and filled it up with 5000 songs, 20,000 photos and about 50 apps.  It doesn't sound like you will need anything larger than that.  If you are just talking about a few dozen apps and email, the 16G version should be adequate.

  • Can I use my 3G for internet tethering

I have an iphone 3G with web bolt on. Can I use it for internet tethering as when I go into settings ther seems no way of turning the tethering on?

No, your 3G web bolt on is different to a tethering bolt on. You need to call your network provider and they normally will let you try tethering for a limited period of time before they charge you. I found it quite slow and unreliable, not worth the money. Youre better off getting your network to send you an internet dongle instead.

  • Galaxy S3 4.1.2 - Can I use a SIM for global data in Italy?

I have a Galaxy S3 that has been updated to 4.1.2 and I'm wondering if I can buy a local SIM card for Italy and be able to use it for data while I'm there?
I've read countless discussions about the issues with the Galaxy S3 and it not being able to use another carrier's SIM card internationally, but I don't know if that changed since the update to 4.1.2.
So, what are my options if I want to use my Galaxy S3 in Italy in a couple months?
I see that Verizon will sell me 100MB of data for $25, but will that work flawlessly and act just as if I were using it here in the US? I mainly want to be able to use any apps and internet just as I can here in the US, so if I could get some options, I'd really appreciate the help!!
    Thanks

  • Can I use Parallel execution for Global Temporary table within SP and How

    Dear Gurus,
I have Global temporary table as below
    Create global temporary table Temp_Emp
    empno number,
    ename varchar2(20),
    deptno number
    ) on commit preserve rows;
During processing I insert the data into this table and then fire query on Temp_Emp, get the data and pass it to front end.
    The SP as shown below
    Create or replace procedure get_emp_data
    empid in number,
emp_detail out RefCsr -- Ref cursor
    as
    begin
    -- some code here
    open emp_detail for
    select *
    from Temp_Emp
    where empno = empid;
    end get_emp_data;
Can use Parallel Query execution on Temp_Emp table and how ?
i.e. do need to explicitly use parallel construct in query or is it default.
Because I have many SQL like above (on global temporary tables) within Stored Procedures.
Can anybody give me any suggestion.
    Thanking in Advance
    Sanjeev

How come you are populating a temporary table and then opening a cursor on this temporary table for the front end to use?
Couldn't you presumably just form a query out of the code you use to populate the temporary table? This is the recommended approach in Oracle.

  • Can tata photon plus be used with apple i pad mini for internet access

can tata photon plus be used with apple i pad mini for internet access?

No, you will not be able to use a wired connection. If you have a iPad wifi, it can be used only with a wifi and if you have a iPad wifi+cellular, it can be used with both wifi and 2G/3G and 4G.

  • Can I use a WTR54G for satelitte internet access

I am having wildblue satelitte internet installed.the install tech said I could use linksys wireless g to hook up two computers for internet access.I have bought the linksys equipment and was reading on the web site that it wont work with satelitte internet.has anyone done this please help

    vickers57,
I've been using wildblue satellite with a WRT54Gv5 for 18 months now. It will operate in the DHCP mode, which is the default. I would reset the WRT54G to factory settings by unplugging the power adapter, hold in reset button on rear, then plug in while you hold for 10 seconds, then release.
Run a standard Ethernet patch cable (straight-thru,not crossover) from wildblue modem to 'Uplink' port on WRT54G, then another standard Ethernet patch cable from your pc to one of the 4 ports on the WRT54G. Set your pc Ethernet port to 'obtain IP automatically'.
Power cycle (remove power plug, wait 10 seconds, then plug in) the wildblue modem, when it's 'up' and the top 2 lights are solid not flashing (power and receive), then power cycle the WRT54G. Lastly, if your pc is win98 or winME then reboot it, otherwise XP should get the new IP address from the router OK without rebooting. If not, reboot your pc.
To view the WRT54G configuration, lauch your browser, type in http://192.168.1.1 in the URL bar and hit 'enter'. The default username is 'default' and the password is 'admin'. Click on the far right on 'Status'. If all is good you should see the wildblue modem's IP address and wildblue's DNS.
Let me know how it goes!

  • Using 2nd Built-In Ethernet port for internet access?

    Hello,
I have a Quad-G5 running 10.4.8. In its current configuration, all its network communications, including web access, go over the active ethernet port (Built-in 1).
Does anyone know how I could use the second built-in port for internet access only? I'd like to route local traffic over the first port, but go "out" over the second.
The machine is on a corporate network, and proxy access is slowwww. I have the ability to use a direct connect to the internet, but still need to be connected locally. Any thoughts? Many thanks . . . JD

Easy. Go to System Preferences > Network > Network Port Configurations and drag the port connected to the internet to the top, so that it has priority over the port connected to your LAN. This prevents DNS time-out when loading a website, but still allows LAN traffic over the other port because that traffic is most likely going to use ARP rather than DNS. For good measure, you can add your company's domain (such as "my_company.lan") to System Preferences > Network > Internal_Ethernet > TCP/IP > Search Domains.

  • How can I use the gps without internet in my Ipad3 - 4G

How can I use the gps without internet in my Ipad3 - 4G. Do I need to download any additional app than the one that already came with it?

The Maps app included in iOS, at least as of the current version, requires an Internet connection, so you'll need to get an app that allows you to download maps to be kept on the iPad. MotionX GPS Drive is one such app, but there are others available.
    Regards.

  • Can I use this as a wireless access point for my network

can I use this as a wireless access point for my network

    umm... use what?
A Time Capsule? Sure. It's just like many other wireless base stations. It can run in either bridge or route mode - in bridge mode it's just like an access point linking the wired and wireless networks together.

  • Can i use the iPhone's internet for free in sapin or anywhere in europe

hi im thinking of getting an iPhone 3g for christmas for the internet lol because its the best at the mo.
i live in the uk and i know O2 offers free net within the uk, but i go to spain 2 times every year and i was wondering if the internet is free to use out there or will i have to pay for it :s
    if so how much more
    thanks

you will most likely have to pay for it, and pay A LOT. data roaming is very expensive. unless O2 has a network which you can use in Spain. not very familiar. but in most cases, yes, you will have to pay. i would call O2 and see how its handled, they would have the official say and how much it would be.
and as Tamara stated, you can always use wi-fi for free, at hotspots that provide it.

  • User Authentication for Internet access

    Hi,
Is it possible to configure authentication for internal (LAN) users to Authenticate (local/RADIUS/LDAP) for any kind of internet access through the ISA550/570? (like cut-through authentication proxy in ASA.)
And Can the ISA550/570 act as a Web proxy?
    Thanks in advance.

    HI Sulu,
You can configure captive portal for internal LAN users to authenticate (local/Radius/LDAP) for internet
access through ISA500. (see attached screenshot)
ISA500 cannot act as a web proxy. what is your use case ?

  • Use AIrport Express without Internet access?

Friends of ours just switched and helped them purchase and set up an iMac and MacBook. We're rural so they are now using a Verizon USB Modem for internet access, no access to DSL or cable. If they were to purchase an AE can it be used, and how easy is the setup, to create an in-home network to simply communicate between the MB and iMac and stream Airtunes? Also can the Verizon USB modem be used with the AE? Searched forums and it doesn't appear that it can be used but wondering if someone has a work around.
    Thanks.

If they were to purchase an AE can it be used, and how easy is the setup, to create an in-home network to simply communicate between the MB and iMac and stream Airtunes?
The default configuration of the AirPort Express Base Station (AX) is a wireless router with AirTunes enabled. In this configuration, both Macs should be able to connect to the AX's wireless network and stream iTunes. No Internet connection is required.
Also can the Verizon USB modem be used with the AE?
For Internet access the AX must be connected to an Ethernet modem, or to another wired or wireless network that has Internet connectivity. The AirPorts do not support direct connection to USB-based modems.
