Can I use polling frequency for Database Adapter

I need to use Database Adapter that acts like FileAdapter. Can I set polling frequency for my Database Adapter, so that the adapter can query every 5 secs?

You can use polling feature when you configure your DB adapter Operation Type as "Poll for New or Changed Records in Table"
If you use Adapter configuration wizard it will promot for "Pollling Options" and Polling Frequency is the option which you can configure in seconds, mins or hrs

  • How to set polling interval for database adapter in interconnect?help plz!!

    Hi
    i have 4 database adapters with same name subscribing to same event in 4 different interconnect instances(i.e., same business event and application event in different hubs) and pointing to same source application database , same destination application database.
    source application database have one oai bridge schema.When a message has to be sent,message will be enqueued in messageobjecttable.This message can be taken by 4 databse adapters.and send to 4hubs then 4 messages will be sent to destination application instead of single message.
    To avoid this,I want to set database polling interval in 4 adapters sych a way that if one adapter take message in MESSAGEOBJECT TABLE,the other three adapters don't pick same message.
    this way i can avoid redundacy at destination application.Please reply soon
    Thanks

    You would seem to have an extremely unusual use case for interconnect. The whole purpose of Interconnect is to concentrate the message processing into one hub and distribute the message to those applications interested in it. The use of 4 hubs from one application is probably not supported for precisely the reasons you are having trouble. Can you give us more details of your use case?
    I am not sure that adjusting the polling interval for the different adapters will help. Since at some point you will get a collision where 2 or more adapters poll at the same time.

  • Re-using toplink code for database adapter

    Hi,
    I have a project in which multiple BPEL processes will be implemented. Some of them use database adapters to connect to various staging areas.
    Is it possible to setup JDeveloper in such a way that I can create the toplink side for the database adapter in a separate project, and include it in the other BPel projects? It seems a waste of resources to recreate the whole toplink business each time I create a database adapter in a project to again the same schema.
    Jeroen van Veldhuizen

    Because:
    1) it is not possible to deploy the same instance multiple times to run in parallel, connecting to different databases simultaneously to start up processes
    2) an adapter that polls and a second adapter that writes to the same schema, are using the same datamodel and message model.
    Why recreate the whole model over and over again?

    Hello All.
    I am sorry,i don't know whether this location is the correct location to post my question or not
    I have developed one application using complete vb only. That is completly desktop appliation and not suitable for centralized database. Is there any facility to keep my front end as same (vb application) and for the database transaction can i use jdbc? Is there any possibility to do that like View is vb based application and the database connectivity is only jdbc
    If my thought is wrongplease execuse me.

    Sounds like a really bad choice even if it was possible.

  • Can i use Custom Tags for Database retrieval (as per MVC pattern)?

    In our project we are dealing with database, and i've used the Cutom Tags for database retrieval (as per the Article from Mr Faisal Khan) and it is working fine. But i have a doubt if it affects the performance in any way . I wanted to know if its recommendable to use Custom Tags for the DB retrieval as per MVC Pattern or shall i create a intermediate bean and then call the bean in custom tag.
    Thanks
    Prakash

    Putting database code in your JSPs certainly couples your view to the database. That's usually not good.
    If it's a simple app, it might be justified.
    When you start having lots of pages and complex business logic it becomes less attractive. - MOD

  • Polling frequency of AQ adapter

    Can we set the polling frequency for AQ adapter during Enqueue operation in 10g?
    Regards
    Ayush

    We are facing a similar issue but a slightly different scenario. Following is the setup:
    - Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.3.
    - BPEL process (within a Composite App) using AQ Adapter reading messages from a AQ queue (corresponding to a subscription to a Business Event) in Oracle EBS.
    - Huge number of messages backed up in the queue: delay of between 10 secs to 1 min between consecutive dequeue logs noticed in the BPEL process.
    The 'DequeueTimeOut' parameter is explained as "It is the interval after which the dequeue() API will time out if no message is received on the inbound queue.".
    But what if there a lot of messages in the queue waiting to be processed? How can we increase the polling frequency so that messages are drained immediately, or is this the default behavior?
    Any response is appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Where do I set the polling frequency for Technical monitoring in Solution Manager 7.1 SP10 ??

    Hi All,
    I am customizing my technical monitoring templates and would like to know :
    1. Where we can set the polling frequency for each metrics for triggering alerts through Technical monitoring in Solution Manager 7.1 SP10 ??
    2. Is it like each time our threshold is breached, it will send an alert irrespective of polling frequency ??
    I know the data collection interval time for each metrics in technical monitoring template but the as per my observation the polling frequency is different.
    Need your guidance.

    Manish K

    Hi Javier,
    Refer to the documentation 'MAI Alert Consumer BAdI Interface' under

  • Can I use custom query in DB Adapter with Polling

    Hi All,
    I am getting problem while using db adapter with polling. Can I use custom query in db adapter with polling.
    I am using 2 tables; table 1 and table2
    Structure of table1 is as:
    File_name
    Batch_id
    Creation_date
    Status
    Structure of table2 is as:
    Batch_id
    Employee_ID
    Last_Name
    First_Name
    Middle_Name
    Group_ID
    Site_ID
    Dept_Num
    Report_id
    I have to use below query while polling to table1
    Select count(*) as NOSEXP, Report_id
    from table1, table2
    where table2.batch_id =
    table2.batch_id
    and table1.Status= 0
    group by Report_id;
    I mean, when I use DB adapter to poll table1, I have to use above query.
    Can you Please suggest on this.
    Thanks in advance.

    I will check for existance not based on Primary key but based on three other fields in the table. I think , by default DB adapter configured for MERGE checks for existance based on PK. Can we change the Primary Key in the mapping file after the DB adapter is configured. In that case , will it check for existance based on the fields , I mention.

    Due to the kind of plug used the US power cord is rated at the 125v value.. and legally we cannot advise you to use on higher voltages.. although I have never had issues in Australia.. 240v.
    But adapters from your Euro power plug to US are generally ugly .. unsightly things.. and often sit high above the socket and are none too stable.. I agree with Bob.. just go out and buy a standard figure 8 power cord.. check with Apple in Italy for a white one.. if you are going to have it on show.. black are far more common. Or even check ebay for a standard power Apple power cord as a number of items they sell use the figure8 socket.

  • What kind of database driver should use for database adapter  in BPEL?

    what kind of database driver (XA or non-XA) should use for database adapter in BPEL? I have only one database adapter and no JMS.
    Thanks

    Hi
    It depends on wheter you need XA transaction or not.
    See http://www.theserverside.com/discussions/thread.tss?thread_id=21385 third reply.
    If you only have one database and no synchronous dependency to the caller, non-XA should be OK.

  • How can I use jbo:InputSelect for a char type filed?

    How can I use <jbo:InputSelect for a char type filed?
    I have two tables. One is room (primary key is room(type is char)), another table is responsibility (foreign ker is room(type is char)). Both tables have same length for room column.
    There is a problem:
    If I use (in the "DataEditComponent.jsp" file)
    <jbo:InputSelect multiple="false" datasource="dsEdit" displaydatasource="roomData" displaydataitem="ROOM" displayvaluedataitem="ROOM" ></jbo:InputSelect>
    to get the room input for responsibility from combobox(Datasource roomData is from room table). In the form the room field cannot bind the data in combobox, alway select the first item. And if I select one item and click the update button.There is an error message:
    Error Message: JBO-27010: Attribute set with value H409 for Room in Responsibility has invalid precision/scale
    I found If I changed the field type from char to varchar2 in database also change the entity objects, it works well. I wonder if there are any diffrence using <jbo:InputSelect tag in char and varchar2 type. How can I use <jbo:InputSelect for a char type filed as i don't want to change my datatype in database at this stage.
    I try this in JDeveloper 9.03, 9.034, 9.04. The result is the same.

    If I were in your shoes, here's how I would do it:
    <%-- Assuming you have dsRoom and dsResponsibility --%>
    <%-- Select is an HTML tag --%>
    <select name="ROOM" size="1">
    <% char roomID =""; // Init your character var
    // Open a rowsetIterator to get the records and add them to the LOV
    <jbo:RowsetIterate datasource="dsResponsibility" changecurrentrow="true" >
    <% roomID = (char)dsResponsibility.getRowSet().getCurrentRow().getAttribute("ROOM"); // Grab the char value
    // add the value to the LOV
    %>
    <option value="<%=roomID%>"><%=roomID%></option>
    </jbo:RowsetIterate>
    </select>
    If you are using this as part of an edit page you may want to utilize the "selected" option of the <option> tag. In one instance I am doing this on an edit page because the use may open an existing record. If I don't account for it, then it will change the DB to contain the first value from the list! You can do a simple check like:
    //Set the current record's char
    char curRecord = (char)rowEdit.getAttribute("ROOM");
    // inside the iterate:
    if (curRecord == roomID) {
    <option value="<%=roomID%>" selected><%=roomID%></option>
    } else {
    <option value="<%=roomID%>" ><%=roomID%></option>
    Hope that helps!

  • Can I use the LCDS for... ?

    Hi,
    I'm a beginner in LCDS.
    I have a MySQL database for my ordering system. In this database there is a user table and there are some other tables. These tables use foreign keys of user.id. People can register on my sytem (+1 row in a user table). I communicate throught web services in my mobile application. People can see only their own rows (own orders) (it is defined by the user.id).
    I would like to improve my mob.app. with offline, sync, and real time changings features.
    Can I use the LCDS for my system?
    Thanks

    +information:
    Server: Apache Tomcat 7
    Web Services: Java WS, and it is protected with Custom Basic Authentication. The session contains user.id after the successful authentication.
