Can't activate iphone after restore.
I'm facing problem with "SIM invalid / No service" issue and my carrier advised to restore the OS. I did it as per Apple instruction at http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4148 and later having problem to activate the phone. Btw, i'm still having the "No service" issue during the activation.

Sorry it has taken so long for people to respond but this is a lot of data and it took time but basically it's a software issue what's happening is your service provider is making every attempt to contact your phone and your phone is basically not giving up any of the data like your udid or unique identifier. Their is no exact fix for this because I have only ever seen this issue 3 times and what it is best to do is connect to your computer and restore and set it up as a new phone then restore from backed up data. This is the only advice I can offer as this issue is so rare no one has one exact answer for it

After turning on again, it requests: language, then country, then WiFi (no option for SIM code) and then it gives the message: "it make take a few..." but it never activates.
I am in UK but my SIM is from Spain... is that the problem why I can't activate it?

So, recently I had to restore my iphone 4 because there was too much data being taken up. I have restored it before and it has worked. This time I restored it and tried to activate it. It says Could Not Activate Iphone. What do I do???
It's just the servers, don't worry or go and try to get another phone There's a lot of people blaming a lot of things, trying to scare folks who jailbroke before or even used apps they don't like, that's all complete nonsense. It's just Apple did a VERY poor job, inexcusable to say the least, with preparing this. If they couldn't handle the load that they knew for certain they were going to have today, they should have staggered the release over a period of days or weeks.
Just be patient and keep trying, it'll go through -

Can't activate iphone after stupid botched unlock
So, someone who shall remain nameless (no, not me but a relative) decided that they'd try to do an unlock on their iphone from overseas through one of those scummy unlock websites. After it didn't go well, he then tried to do a restore and now the phone is stuck. It won't activate at all. I'm not really an Apple person except for an old iPod that I used to use so I don't really know where to start.
Is there any hope of restoring this or is all lost? Any advice except for "stay away from online unlock sites." At this point, not trying to use it with any carrier, just wanted to be able to use wifi, camera, etc.
By the way, the iPhone 5 is out of Japan and the carrier was AU Kddi. I don't know what operating system it was using. If there are other details that would be helpful, please let me know and I'll try to find out.

After i have installed iOS 7.1.2 (updated from 4.1.2) my phone says Searching for carrier while there is no valid sim installed in it, and then when i connect it to itunes to activate it the itunes pops up a message saying, "

What should i do? it was working before the update now after update it doesn't..I am the original owner of the phone, bought it when it was released in Romania from Orange (career) but i don't get it this never happened when i had the older device's from apple this is the first time i occure such problems. any idea what should i do? i restored it from ios 5.1 to 5.0.1 and when i open it to activate says that activation server is unavailable.
Sorry it has taken so long for people to respond but this is a lot of data and it took time but basically it's a software issue what's happening is your service provider is making every attempt to contact your phone and your phone is basically not giving up any of the data like your udid or unique identifier. Their is no exact fix for this because I have only ever seen this issue 3 times and what it is best to do is connect to your computer and restore and set it up as a new phone then restore from backed up data. This is the only advice I can offer as this issue is so rare no one has one exact answer for it

I can not sync my iPhone after restoring it - my computer only gives me the restore (again and again and again) option. I have no music and only a few aps now on my iPhone. Any tips before I go to the genius bar?
If you restored as new, without using a backup, and still only get an option to restore, there is a hardware problem or the phone was previously hacked (jailbroken, downgraded iOS, unauthorized unlock). Your only option is to take it to Apple or whoever provides iPhone service in your country.

Download iTunes 11 from the Apple site and reinstall. The error message was quite plain in telling you what to do to resolve the error.

If that doesn't fix it either the phone was jailbroken or hacked, or the computer you are using was used to hack or jailbreak some other iDevice. -
