Can't add New Events
The error message I'm getting can be seen here: http://my.roadtrips.com/picture4.png
I have the server all set up and I set up my computer to access the iCal server. Everything looks fine, soon as I add an event I get a an error message. If I remove the event it goes away. I need to be able to add events on the server .
Both the server and the desktop have been updated to 10.5.2
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ical missing the can't add new events! Help?
The plus sign is missing from my ical on my iPad, how do i get it back to add new events?
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
No data will be lost. -
Can´t add new events to iCal :(
Hey there,
i´ve got a problem with my iCal. The little calendar on the left corner is stuck to January 2001 and i can´t add a new event. The other thing is that i can´t close the programm normally. I really hope you cann help me because i am not really sure what to do. I allready try to delete the cache and tried to use it with a different user account but nothing is working so far.

Often iCal display problems can be corrected by refreshing the the com.apple.iCal.plist file. You will find the com.apple.iCal.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. Quit iCal, drag the com.apple.iCal.plist file to your Desktop, log out/in or restart and check iCal for normal behavior.

How can I add new event handler in BC4J event flow in UIX?
How can I declarativly add extension to existing event handleres in BC4J+UIX page?
I generate through wizards UIX+BC4J pages and I want extend some actions in eventhandlers section. Can I do it in some way like <event name=".." method=".." class=".."> like in any regular event handlers?you can use the <method ..> event handler inside the BC4J event handlers, like:

my calendar will no longer let me add new event or delete them, it comes up with an error saying "cannot save event, no end date set" or "event does not belong to that event store". can anyone help with this?

To configure your ODBC DataSource, go to Control Panel ---> DataSources(ODBC) (If you are in a Windows environment).
Select the tab System DSN. If you have not added your data source, then do so by clicking on the Add button. If you have added the datasource, click on the Configure button to configure it.
Give the datasource name, then the database name.
You have to give the hostname, service name and server name. I guess, in most cases, the datasource name and host name will be the same, service name and server name will be the same. If you are using TCP/IP, the protocol will be onsoctcp.
There will be a file named Services under C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc where you have to give the port number for accessing this server.
It will be like this <service name> <portnumber>/tcp

Unable to add new event in iCal
OK, this may be a total newbie question, as this is only my 2nd day with a Mac, but I can't add an event in iCal.
My calendar is a Google Calendar, and I have successfully set this up in iCal (I can see all my events). However, I can't find a way to add an event! The File > New Event is greyed out, and the keyboard shortcut doesn't work either.
I'm guessing it's got something to do with how I've set things up, but I have no idea where to go from here.Solved! Needed to check "Show All Day Events" in the View menu!

Unable to add new event in iCal, Lion 10.7.1
Hi,
On Lion 10.7.1, I can't seem to add new events to iCal.
I have tried the following:
1. 2-finger click on a day in the month-view. This pops out the menu and I can click on 'New Event', but after that, nothing happens.
2. Clicking on the '+' button at the top. This pops out the 'Create Quick Event' window. After typing in a new event and hitting return, nothing happens.
I can create a new event in the 'Day' and 'Week' view though.
iCal was working fine for me last week, but it seems to be broken since yesterday. I'm not sure if it stopped working after the 10.7.1 update.

I have a problem with iCal.Since 2 days ago,I couldn't add new event in iCal on my ipad2.It Keeps saying 'No calendar has been set", then if I go to Calendar field,choose one calendar,it gives this msg "That event doesn't belong to that event store". I can add event from iCloud and from my iCal on my iMac. Please help
Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.) -

Well typically you wouldn't add a button to the Center of a BorderLayout. If you really want to do this you should be using a [Card Layout|http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/TOC.html].

Can't add any events to my Calendar on my iPhone 5S
All of a sudden I can't add any events to my Calendar on my iPhone 5S. It worked fine just a couple days ago. I haven't loaded any new software and I haven't changed anything in the Settings regarding the Calendar. I have the latest (newest) software 8.2 upgrade. I've done everything I can think of, including turning it off and restarting it. I have not reset it back to factory defaults, I hope not to have to do that.
BobI click on the + button (add button) and it does allow me to enter a Title, a Location and all the date/s & time/s. The Add button is active and I click on it and it returns me to the calendar. I don't get any kind of error. However, their is no event on the day or time I chose. Tried it on different dates, different times, and doesn't matter whether it's a Specific Time Event or and All Day Event, it just doesn't same it.

Having an issue where iCal is not allowing us to add new events. It will allow you to add events on the iPhone, and when you sync, it adds those events, but it will not allow events to be added from the iCal application on the Mac itself. The user is using Mobile Me, which I am not familiar with. Could there be a setting that disallows new events to be added in iCal on the Mac, and only accepts events from the iPhone?

R~I am STILL having this problem and I tried your test admin approach, but it still hasn't fixed MY account. I can log in on my husband's account, or a test admin user account, and I can add events to iCal. When I switch back to my own account (the main account on the computer that is used all the time) -- no go - it still won't let me add events.
Anyone have a guess as to why the problem would be affecting one account only, but not the others? -
I opened my ical and all my events had been erased and all my claendar accounts were gone and it will not allow me to add new events or accounts.

Thanks so much for wading in. I did exactly what you suggested - glad you gave me the hint about how to access my library files. There was only one document that seemed to have anything to do with cache, and that was called Calendar Cache. (I've attached a screen capture of all the files incase I should have deleted something else as well.) I deleted Calendar Cache then restarted iCal, but after updating I was still unable to add new events.
Is there anything else you can suggest?

I use apple calendear, for which I've created several calendars: work, home, family, kids, etc.
I just realized, I no longer can assign events to the calendars I want. I face a much shorter list of alternatives than I had previously.I haven't had a problem using the following
Open calendar in the month view
Go to the date you want the event
Touch the day and then menu
Touch add new event
The screen should change to a text entry and event description, time, place, etc
Enter data and then save I forget to touch the save sometimes and you have to start over.
