Can't authorize my own music once I re-installed v6

Apparently I had originally used an e-mail address that's LONG gone, and I have no clue what the password was. So iTunes won't let me play a song I've owned legally since 2002. I'm really regally ****** off. I certainly wish I hadn't "upgraded" to v7. This is a headache that I do not welcome today. This was working and now it's f'd up. I am not a happy camper at all.

Half my post got cut off. In a nutshell if I can't get the album to play I do want my money back.

  • Received hand-me-down Ipod classic.   Can I put my own music on there without erasing photos?

I received an 80 gigabyte iPod Classic from my niece. It's got lots of family photos on it that I'd like to keep on it. She doesn't even know if she has some of these pictures any longer, this might be the only place they're still at. Is there anyway I can update the iPod with my own music without erasing/deleting the pictures? Or do I have to do a complete wipe of the whole iPod to be able to use it on my account?
Please tell me there's some way to do this.

My niece no longer has the computer and,  to top that off, she's gone a tad bit psycho and has decided no one in the family can see her kids unless they pay her to see them.  I'm on Social Security Disability.  I can barely afford to pay my bills some months.  It's been half a year.  She's not changing her mind.  So these are all the photos I have left of them to remember them by.
I'm not willing to lose them so I guess I can't use the ipod.
This needs to be something Apple should look into.  What happens if someone dies?  I can understand not transferring songs because of copyrights and profits to musicians,  but family photos?  If a family member dies,  all the family then has is a very expensive, tiny electronic photo album.

  • Can I use garage band to edit my own original music from itunes? Or can I import my own music straight from a C.D. or Flashdrive?

Can I use Garage band (garage band '11) to edit my own original music that I have stored in my itunes library? Is it even possible to edit your own music with Garage band ? And how would you import your songs into it? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

  • CAN I AUTHORIZE MY OWN COMPUTER?

I have a 2004 G-5 and I think the I-tunes is about version 7. After over a year of acquiring music through the I-Tunes Store I can't play the music I paid for. "This Computer is not Authorized to Play..." is the message I get for nearly all of my library (one or two recently purchased songs will play without the bogus "authorization"). I also get repeated insistence that I upgrade to I-Tunes 8 even though that cannot be done with my operating system (10.3.9). I have renewed my Apple ID and my password; I have followed the detailed instructions (played one of the songs I can play).
What does one have to do to play songs?

You'll find some tips here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389

  • Can musicians upload their own music?

Hello everyone.. I was talking to my bass playing buddy and we were looking into ways of promoting our music projects.  We're looking at our own website, but as Spotify is so massively well known, is there the potential of putting music onto Spotify. We both use Spotify a lot to listen to great music and we were hoping to give our own projects the Spotify goodness! Very grateful for your time. Best wishes, Karl Hart

    Hello
    Yes this is possible.

  • Can't sync because of music issues since I installed Mavericks

Recently I bought a new iPad mini wifi + cellular; in December I had added Mavericks; before iCloud I had always synched the phone with the music done manually, because I have music in my library from vinyl, cassettes, and CDs/DVDs, and obviously the earlier material wasn't from iTunes.  With the iCloud, and a newer iPhone, and then a new iPad mini last summer, I have still been ok with synching.  After getting Mavericks, over the holidays I got a new mini, and I have problems with all my synching.  (We can talk about photos later!)
iPad: 'Tunes has found music not on computer on iPad; transfer it or lose it.'  When I try, I get the message 'computer is no longer authorized'; it is, but I have tried auth'z'g again, deauthzg then reauthzg etc., nothing works.  I bought some music on the new iPad, which may be the cause.  But it would not synch right before that.  It was using an old apple ID name, and when I tried to get the name right, it wouldn't work, around and around, and in that process I changed to a new apple ID password.  So maybe that also affects things.
How do I get the phone and new iPad to work normally with the MacBook Pro?  I could erase the pad and start over, that would be ok; I only care to preserve the music on the laptop.  But I need to be able to keep these all in synch, the phone too; what settings will work, once I get this sorted?  I don't care, for a while, that there be no music on the ios devices, if that helps.
    Thank you for your help.

I'm not sure what you tried already, but this worked for me with my HP:
uninstall all printer manufacturer apps and "utilities"
go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Print
control-click on your printer in the column on the left
select "Reset Printing System..." and "reset" in the dialog that follows
do a factory reset on your printer. You'll have to consult the printer manual for how.
if you connect to your printer via wifi:
power down everything: modem, router, computer, and printer
power up each item in turn in the same order: modem, router, computer, and printer. Let each power up completely before moving on to the next
enter your wifi password in your printer so it can connect to the network
go back to printers & scanners and it should see your printer and install a driver for it from Apple
try using Image Capture instead of any HP scan utility

  • Load my own music and Match music

Might be a daft question but can i load my own music onto my iPhien abnd still have Match in use?
i have some radio shows recorded i want to listen to. If i load them into iTunes and dont 'Match them', as its lots and they are long, can i then sync them into the iPhone without disturbuing the Match settings?

Yes, absolutely you can load your own music (as long as you obtained it legally; for example, from CDs you own).
It sounds like you've signed up for iTunes Match.  Assuming that's true, iTunes Match may replace your music with the same tunes from the iTunes library, which may improve the fidelity of the music.
In any event, as long as you place legally obtained music into your library, iTunes Match will handle it properly and you will not lose anything.

I have been trying to upload the music I have been listening too for many years. I have studed apples since 1987, it was the first computer I learned, I  do not feel this is fair, that apple is not allowing music lovers to  upoload yhere own music, I would really like some feedback on this and  as to why I can not upload my own music

How can I download music from another computer's music library to my ipod without losing my own music?

You'll want to enable Manually Manage Music and Videos. Once you do that you'll be able to drag and drop the music from the computer to the iPod.

When one or more family members who have been sharing one iTunes account wants to create their own iTunes account can they each upload the music/apps from the shared iTunes on their devices to the new iTunes account?

Yes. I would clarify your statement about the "shared" iTunes Library though. If you want each iOS device to have its own music library, you should create separate user accounts for them. Read:

You cannot. iTunes purchases remain on the iTunes account they were purchased with.
My IPhone 5 wont play my songs that were purches from my old apple id account
So just upload them from iTunes.
    You have mulitple AppleIDs?
    Why?

Welcome to the world of digital media. Your can't really transfer it. I don't know what the rules are about transferring to your spouse but I do know that in some cases when you die, your heirs cannot inherit your digital media. This is why there is still an advantage to buying the CD since the usage rights belong to whomever holds the physical media.
A possible workaround is to burn the songs to a music CD with yout account (tracks only without song titles) and then having your wife upload it as a regular music CD onto her account. It's been a while since i've done this so I'm not sure if it would work now.
Please note that I'm not advocating copyright and/or TOS violations. I'm only suggesting ways to copy music for your own personal use which has traditonally been permitted. I only did this because I wanted to convert iTunes songs to mp3 files so I could burn them onto a data CD for use in my car. It would make sense that since married couples are a joint entity, this would be personal use.
Also, I'm not a lawyer so don't take this as legal advice.

My girlfriend and I both have iTunes account with our own music libraries and we want to combine our two libraries into one icloude accounts so can both then access our one shared libary at anytime in the cloud.  How do we do this?

No it is not possible.  Content purchased from the iTunes Store is permanently tied to the account from which it was originally purchased, and Apple does not provide a way to change it.
