Can't copy file from SAP-directory to FTP server
Hello,
I can't copy files from the SAP server to the FTP server. The file is created with OPEN DATASET and CLOSE DATASET commands and is placed in the SAP-directory S:\usr\sap\DEV\DVEBMBGS00\work.
I can see and read the file with transaction al11, so I know it's there.
But the FTP command always gives the same error:
S:\usr\sap\DEV\DVEBMBGS00\work\[FILENAME] errno 22: invalid argument
I can connect to the FTP, but the put command keeps failing. Somehow, the file in the SAP directory can't be read, it seems, even when
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Dave
Ok, I found out that I have to use SAPFTPA as RFC destination type, instead of SAPFTP, otherwise the folders can't be located.
But with SAPFTPA I can't seem to connect to the FTP server. I've tested the connection with sm59 and it works, but for the FTP it doesn't work. When I use SAPFTP as destination type, it still works.
What can I do?
Thanks.

Can't copy files from mounted DMG. What's up??
So all of a sudden, I can't copy files from mounted DMG files. It's strange because if there is one file and I drag it to another location, like desktop, it won't copy. If I drag 2 files from the mounted DMG to the desktop one of them copies. If I drag 3, then 2 copy... it's always all but one of the files... never all of them.
I've tried repairing permissions but nothing works. I'm at a loss...
thanks
D
iMac Core Duo 17", 1.5 gig RAM Mac OS X (10.4.8)Try holding option when you drag the files. This tells the mac to move the files to the desktop of your computer not the desktop folder of the DMG (usually a hidden folder)
If that doesn't work it may be that you need administrative privileges to move the files. Make sure you are logged on as as an administrator by selecting the account tab in system preferences and making sure it says "admin" under your user name. Log on to or create an administration account then try moving the file.
Hope this helps, let me know

How can i copy files from one external hard disk to another using macbook pro with retina display
How can i copy files from one external hard drive to another using macbook pro with retina display?
That's odd - if you open Disk Utility (Applications->Utilities) and select the disk(s), how are they formatted? If you're only going to be used with your Mac, they should be formatted as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)".

Java Program to copy file from one directory to another failing
Hello All,
Oracle Applications 12.1.3
RDBMS: 11.2.0.30
SQL*Plus: 10.1.0.5.0
Java beginner here so help is much appreciated. I'm have some java code that I'm using to copy a file from one directory to another in an Oracle Applications Server. I notice that when moving to a new instnace I started to get file not found errors. I think it's because of the directory. My question is, does the directory in which I trying to pick up the file have to be a DBA_DIRECTORY, or a UTL_FILE directory in order for the java to find the file and move it?
Here is my code...
CREATE OR REPLACE AND COMPILE JAVA SOURCE NAMED "COPY_FILE_JVS" AS
import java.io.*;
public class COPY_FILE_JVC{
public static void copy(String SourceFile, String DestDir) {
File source = new File(SourceFile);
File dest = new File(DestDir);
File cpDestFile = null;
try {
if (dest.isDirectory()) {
if(source.isFile()) {
System.out.println("File name = " + source.getName());
System.out.println("File name dest = " + dest.getPath() );
System.out.println("File name cpDestFile = " + dest.getPath() + File.separator + source.getName());
cpDestFile = new File(dest.getPath() + File.separator + source.getName());
else {
System.out.println("Directory or File Not Found");
return;
BufferedInputStream br = new BufferedInputStream (new FileInputStream (source));
BufferedOutputStream bw = new BufferedOutputStream (new FileOutputStream (cpDestFile));
int read = 0;
while((read = br.read()) != -1) {
//System.out.println((char)read);
bw.write(read);
br.close();
bw.close();
catch (FileNotFoundException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
catch (IOException e) {
e.printStackTrace();I get these messages when calling the java from SQL Plus as follows...
serveroutput on size 100000;
dbms_java.set_output(1000000);
MY_PKG.CopyFile('/home/my_user/set_env.sh','/interface/home'); (this is call to oracle pl/sql package which calls the java.)
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
Directory or File Not Found
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
If I change the directory from /home/my_user/ to any directory that is defined in DBA_DIRECTORIES or is a UTL_FILE directory to program works. Is it perhaps because the java is in a PL/SQL package as seen below? The PL/SQL program runs as the APPS user and I have issued the following the command grant JAVASYSPRIV to APPS.
Here is the PL/SQL Package....
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BOLINF.MY_PKG AUTHID CURRENT_USER AS

Can't copy file from Shared Folder
Hi,
Does anyone here knows how to copy file from shared music. I can view others shared music but can't do anything about it. When I tried to Right Click on music I want to copy. There are only 3 options (Get info, Unchecked Selection & Copy). I chose copy, but don't know what to do next. I wanted to place it in my Library but don't have an option to do it.
Please help.
Thanks,
guadzI've never copied music, but have you tried just dragging the file to your library? Not 100% sure if it works, never tried it myself. Also, if you right click in your library, can you paste?

Can't copy files from NTFS volume with Read Only permissions?
I am trying to copy files from an NTFS volume used previously for Windows onto another volume which is Mac OS X Extended...
However, certain files fail to copy due to the fact that I 'don't have permission to access some of the items'...
So I found the items which are causing the issue and viewed the permissions for them which display as 'You can only read'... I presume I am correct taking these as read-only permissions which (to my knowledge) should allow the files/folders to be copied accross to a new volume assuming that the existing volume is left without any changes attempted.
So can anyone suggest to me why this is? And how I might rectify the issue?
Thanks in advanceOk I've just worked out that 'You can only read' is referring to the fact that I can only view permissions but not add any. Below this statement, no permissions are listed which may explain why I cannot access the files but does not explain why I can copy/access some files, also with no permissions...

How to store multiple files from SAp in to Application server?
Hi Guys,
Can anybody tell me how to store multiple files from SAP into Application server.in my application i have to get the data from SAP tables BSEG , BKPF , BSAK and BSIK that to daily i have to do.
Any Logic or Code for how to do is welcomed.
plz help me urgently.
Thanks,
GopiHi,
directories creates basis. If you have task to store data in application server you already should have information into which folder you have to do it. If you don't have this information because it is just for example training for next task then you can use your personal folder into which you have access. To get list of all available folders please look at attached code and form get_directories (you get the list of folders you see in transaction AL11). But don't forget: If you are using open dataset you have to have rights to access application folder!
Here you are code which I use to upload text files from local disc into application folder

Karol

Can't Copy Files from Downloads to Time Capsule
Hi all, this is my first post so please be gentle.
I am experiencing a rather interesting problem with my Time Capsule. Currently it is accesed by 2 macs daily (an iMac and a Mac Pro) and we both access the files on the time capsule simultaneously (obviously not the same files, but we plunk around in there at the same time).
The other user on the network sometimes (read: not always) has a problem copying a file from downloads (lately it was a .pdf file) into the time capsule--the file will drag over, act like it is being copied, and then we hear the bong sound that Macs make when they paste something over. The file name will flash and then go away. Nothing is in the folder.
I have tried to copy to another folder to no avail, as well as disconnect from the Time Capsule and then reconnect. Nothing seems to solve the problem. We CAN however open the file from downloads and perform a Save As, placing it in the folder we would like it to be in. When we do that, it works like a charm.
Obviously we can work around it but it gets to be a bit tedious to have to Save As all the time. I appreciate any and all help! Thanks!This exact problem popped up recently.. i will need to go back and look at the post.
I need more info.
What OS level are on both Macs?? Your listed OS is 10.6.7. Is that still the case? Is it the same on both Macs?
When you copy a file over, can the other Mac find it, even if the original one cannot?
I hope you are using a new directory you created for this file sharing.. Can you remember which Mac created the directory?? Can you try creating a new directory from the Mac with issues and see if the problem still exists.. I feel sure the issue is some permissions thing.. but I can remember the previous thread suggested it wasn't.
I also want you to look in the TC log when this happens and see if there is an AFP disconnection or some other issue coming up at that moment. -
Can´t copy files from my backup-disk (usb)
Hi
I´ve a strange experience with my external USB-Drive. I formated it with Mac OS Extended (Journaled), copied my files onto it and everything worked fine. Now I tried to move some files from this disk back to another, but it does not work. I can´t move any files, even not on the same disk (for example into another folder).
First thing I took care is the Informationfield, but all rights were as they sould be on "read and write".
Strange is: I can read these files (for example I can play a file in Quicktime), and make a copy in the same directory, but I can´t move or copy them into another folder or onto another disk.
Anyone knows about this problem and how to solve it???
Thanks a lotBless you Malcolm. I had been assuming my disks needed repairing and was very dejected when the problems persisted after repair. I learned a lesson - to be more disciplined in naming my files - short and sweet!
Thanks to you I can now copy weeks of hard work to master back up. -
How can i copy files from my ipod to the i tunes?
i just reformatted my laptop, then i installed a new itune. my problem is how can i copy all my files from ipod to the new itune. I cant sync it with the new itune or else it will be erase all my files in the ipod..what can i do ? can you pls. help me.....
Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved and was written long before iTunes 7 so it requires a little adaptation, also it won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. This is just a selection, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
iGadget Windows Only
iPod Access Mac and Windows Versions
Music Rescue Mac & Windows
iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
TuneJack Windows Only
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up in case you have problems again. Relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay. -
Can't copy files from iTunes to a folder on the desktop
I posted this in the iTunes board and received no responses, so I'm wondering if it's more of an OS problem.
I'm trying to clean up my iTunes library by taking out music I don't listen to that often. I created a folder on my desktop to store the music, should I decide to bring it back into iTunes in the future.
When I select certain groups of songs and drag them onto the folder, they refuse to copy. Some copy no problem, but others just won't go in the folder. The green circle with the plus sign comes up and the folder is highlighted, but when I release the mouse button...nothing.
Any idea why I can't copy the songs? BTW, none of the music is from the iTunes store, so it's not protected.
1.5 Powerbook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.8)I run into that problem periodically. Usually it is because one song file has the same title as another song file (for instance, Knockin' on Heavens door, one by Dylan and one by Clapton, would cause the copy failure). While iTunes has no difficulty, the Finder does, refusing to copy two "identical" items to the same location. Copy in smaller batches, so you can eyeball and make sure each item has a different name. When you run into duplicate names, copy one to another folder and rename it (I append the artist's initials), then move it into your other folder.

Error -36. Can't copy files from Internal to External HD. Need Help!
*So I am having difficulty with transferring files from my internal hard drive to any of my external hard drives. Especially when it comes to media files. It keeps giving me an error saying:*
+"The Finder cannot complete the operation because some of the data in *** could not be read or written. (Error code -36)."+
*So I looked up online on what could fix it, and I came across DiskWarrior. I bought the application and ran the software, and did a Check & Repair Disk Permissions for my internal HD as well as my external HD. Everything seemed fine on my external HD, but when I did a diagnostic on my internal, I got this information:*

*From my own knowledge, it seems that I am having an issue with the permissions of the files. I tried repairing them, but it seems DiskWarrior can't repair the files due to the fact that they are either not repairable or they are missing. I hoping I don't have a hardware issue with my HD cause it seems like the issue can't be fixed via software. I have also tried backing-up my drive with Time Machine, but it won't let me do that either. Here are the things that I have tried up until now on how to fix it, and have failed:*
1. Reformatted External HDs to be "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)"
2. Used DiskWarrior and did a Check & Repair Disk Permissions
3. Tried manually changing file permissions.
*If anybody knows how to fix this, besides using the methods I have already tried, please let me know! Thanks!*First, the permissions messages are not errors. They cannot be repaired. They are innocuous and can be ignored.
Second, Error -36 is not a permissions error. Usually it is related to trying to copy files to a non-OS X formatted drive such as trying to copy a file larger than 2 GBs to an MSDOS formatted drive. The error may also arise when the file being copied is corrupted or has a filename with too many characters or a filename using illegal characters.
The error may occur when trying to sync an iDevice or an iDisk. It also may occur when trying to transfer files from a Mac to a PC over SMB-mounted network storage.
Error -36 is an I/O error. For more see I-O error -36 « fuzzybrain|daisychain|blogdrain. -
In our current application we have the following source directory structure:
src -
- com
- edeploy
- subdirs ... (many directories here)
- jsp
-subdirs ... (many directories here)
In com.edeploy.subdirs, there exists *.java files, and *.gxq files (query
files). I would like to modify my build.cmd script to copy the *.gxq files
into the same directory as the class files.
Here's my script so far:
@REM Create list of files to compile
DIR /S /B /A:-D src\com\*.java >class.list
@REM Create list of query files
DIR /S /B /A:-D src\com\*.gxq >query.list
@REM Compile
javac -d stage\WEB-INF\classes @class.list
@REM Copy query files into class directory
.......... code needed here ......
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks,
Matt

Can I copy files from an external NTFS formatted drive to my Mac?
My PC laptop died and I have two external NTFS formatted hard drives. I also have a desktop Mac.
I searched and came across another post dated Sept 2005 in the Support Forum that asked this similar quesiton I post. Sorry if i appear to sound repetitive but I really need confirmation to the answer for reason stated below.
The answer given then was as follows, "Max OSX can only read files on an NTFS formatted external hard drive -- it cannot write files to such a drive [OK, that is clear to me]. If you copy a file from an NTFS formatted hard drive to the internal hard drive of your Mac, there are absolutely no restrictions on what you can do to that copy of the file."
So, to me this means I can modify the JPEG file in my Mac using Photoshop, right? No reformatting of the NTFS drive is necessary? If so, please let me know ASAP as i have a deadline to return the brand new PC which I purchassed thinking that that was my solution.
I pose this question to this forum because the original post is 8 years old and wonder if OS compatibility issues remain the same.If you want to modify the JPEGs you have on the NTFS external disk, you will have to copy the images to your Mac hard disk before editing them.
If you want to edit files on a NTFS external disk, you have to install a third-party application as Paragon NTFS
