Keeps saying wrong user id or password. Have tried several nothing works.
AT&T said Yahoo server down today causing problem. My friends all using theirs.

Hi,
I have a new I-touch which is connecting fine to my wireless and will recieve and send email from an alternate email server.
But I cannot get the settings correct for my verizon.net address to work on the I-touch. It confuses me as my email address is verizon.net, but my old settings on my pc are incoming.yahoo.verizon.net and outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net. Should I be trying incoming.verizon.net, or incoming.yahoo.verizon.net.
I have my user name without the @verizon.net and I have checked the password many times.
I have the port setting at 587.
It is on password authentication.
Can anyone share with me which settings are working for them???

I don't have a iTouch, but I do have an iPhone ... the answer to your question depends on what "experience" you have when you get your mail from Verizon.   Are you using the Yahoo! portal experience perhaps?
If so, the iPhone has a Yahoo! account profile which appears to work.   You use your full @verizon.net email address as the logon userid and your email password for Verizon.
Standard POP also works ...

Some of these settings are obviously personal preference, but there should be enough here for you to piece toogether what you need to get up and running.

IPad 2 - can't get email to work

I just bought a new iPad 2, and set up my email account using the settings I had on my iPad 1. I can send/receive mail using my MobileMe account, but can't do the same using my normal email account. Does anyone know why this is, and what I can do to fix it?

I do not have the password on my iPhone for my iMap account with my ISP. I entered it on the iPad and it now works. Go figure why the settings would be different. On my Mac the settings include the password on the outgoing, iPhone no, iPad yes. Hope this helps.

Try turning the email account off and then turn it on again. Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>select your gmail account>Off. Go to the mail app and then come back to the account in the settings and turn it on again.
If you can't find any other way for the iPad to accept the password, delete the email account and then add it back onto the iPad.

Can't get or send emails. Network connection is correct. Can't get Safari to work. Home PC is good to go...Any suggestions?

I hate this IPAD! I can't get emails or send them. I have deleted the account and put it back in - didn't work. I can't use Safari, because it says it's not connected to the internet. I have plugged and unplugged the PC and it is working fine - emails in and out and internet up and running. You cannot send or receive emails or visit web pages in Safari because your iPad is not connected to the Internet. They are related problems. From your description of plugging and unplugging your PC, I assume your PC is connected to your router by wire, not by wireless. So that is not going to be a good test of your wireless router, though it is a good test to see that the router is connecting to the Internet. I am, of course, assuming you have a wireless router. The problem could be the wireless setting in your iPad or could be the router itself.
On your iPad, go to Settings.
Is Wi Fi on? If not, turn it on and maybe that's all it needed. Also make sure Airplane Mode is off.
If Wi Fi was already on, click on Wi Fi and see if your router shows up on the list.
Post back here to tell us how it is going.

You have to look at the email protocol being used. the Apple email system uses IMAP, does Tinyworld use IMAP or POP?
Does the email system permit delivery receipts to be requested?
Just some of the things one needs to determine from the information provided by the email service provider.

Can't get email over wifi at home, but can at work.

Okay, I think this is a problem with settings on my time capsule, but I can't figure out what. On my iPhone 5 and wife's iPad I can get email over the cellular network and over wifi at work. I can't get email over wifi at home, get a can't connect to server error. Also had a friend, who uses the same ISP, try with his android phone - same error, but works over wifi at his house. Since I can get email over cellular and wifi at work, I'm fairly confident that I have the server settings correct. Any ideas?

Was facing a similar issue with my friend's iPad (Latest one). Forcing the DNS Server to 8.8.8.8 (I think Google's DNS servers) fixes this issue. I had faced something similar on my iMac a long time back. Something a little strange about how Apple products do a DNS lookup? Not sure if it is an issue with the response time of the DNS servers as well..
In any case, the good news was changing it to 8.8.8.8 worked.. Luckily the iPad's network configuration tool allows you to navigate to the pane where you can see the DHCP supplied IP addresses and just go to the DNS field, delete what was present there and force it to this address.
The difficulty in coming to this conclusion was the fact that the browser works fine for all the sites we had tried. It is mostly the apps that had trouble, and the App store also was inconsistent in reporting details..

I am using Hover for my email address and I can not get it to work properly

I've changed the MX record to 10mx.hover.com.cust.hostedemail.com (Hover's recomendation) but it's still not working.
How Can I get this to work properly?

I have performed a DNS look-up on the domain stormbluedesign.com and can see that the MX record you have added exists within our DNS: http://screencastmb.worldsecuresystems.com/img/2013-04-24_0949.png. However, this MX record is not pointing to any IP address which leads me to believe the MX record you added is incorrect.
I believe the MX record you need to add is mx.hover.com.cust.hostedemail.com, with a priority of 10. Not 10mx.hover.com.cust.hostedemail.com. But as always, contact your mail service provider for confirmation on the records they require you to add.

How can i get hotmail to work in mail?

So in hotmail it finally lets me select if I use POP to download Hotmail messages to another program, that program could make it so I can't read my messages on Hotmail. (For example, this might happen if you use Mac Mail or Mozilla Thunderbird).

I have a pioneer 50 inch plasma   I purchased new from the company back in 2005.   I tried to hook up an Apple Tv to the pioneer receiver that came with the TV.   I can not get it to work.   The receiver has two HDMI inputs in the back.

The receiver has two HDMI inputs in the back. However they say they are not for PC's. Furthermore they must be set up by going to the home menu.    I tried everything, but I can not get the receiver to talk to the Apple TV. I even tried a connector that uses an HDMI to the Apple TV that has the other side of the cable as 5 RCA cables. I could not get the receiver to see the Apple TV.   I have a newer TV in the house, it has no problem talking with the Apple TV. But this older system seems to be handicapped in its ability to talk with the newer Apple TV system.

I could not access the Apple TV on the television.   If I put the Apple TV directly into by TV, I have an external sound system (entertainment system), therefore I worry that I would by pass the audio.

I was given this code and found another only slightly different. I've seen them both working but when I try to put it on my page, it doesn't matter what I do, I can't get either to work. The problem is not with the code but with the service I'm going through (addr.com). If anyone is willing to help me figure this out through email, I would be very appreciative.

Something's not right here...
My .class file is placed into the servlets/holidays
folder. This is where they told me I had to upload my
own java/class files but I can't seem to get to it.

folder but I get the same message.It shouldn't make any difference where the class file is, if you set the codebase and code attributes properly in th html.
Just slap it somewhere on the server and give the path to it in codebase. Like if you have the .class in /foo/bar/Baz.class codebase should be "/foo/bar/" - and code "Baz".
