Can't get proper UTF8 in Servlet Output

Here's another problem:
My environment
WinNT Sp6a
Oracle 8.1.5
WLS 6.1
I have a servlet with raw UTF-8 characters in it (not the \uxxx types or the &#xhex/&#xxx).
It seems like I have to use response.setContentType("text/html; charset=Cp1252")
in order for the to appear correctly.
Strange thing is, when printing a variable that's reference from another package,
it appears garbled.
out.println("Reference.lang");
where lang is a public final static String declared as raw UTF-8 characters in
the class "Reference".
But when I assign the same raw UTF-8 characters within the same Servlet and print
it, it appears OK.
Does anyone know how to overcome this? I don't want to use the response.setContentType
as the code will be ported to Solaris, and the default charset is 8859_1.

My mistake. The Global variable "Path to configuration file" points to "D:\data\configured.scf". I set that as a constant in the original vi now, so that it is more self-contained now.

How can I get a HOT mix on Output 1-2 without clipping?

I'm unable to get a hot mix on Output 1-2 with either AU instruments or Audio tracks. If I start with a hot track, by the time I add EQ and compression, the tracks are clipping. I've tried reducing the gain on the plug-ins, and/or the gain on the individual tracks, also reducing the master output. I've also tried starting with lower velocity tracks (midi) and capturing lower volume audio, and then using the plug-ins to boost, still ensuring there is no clipping, but on exporting to iTunes, the volume is too low. Whatever I do to stop clipping from occurring, the result is a low output to iTunes. And the Soundcheck in iTunes is hopeless, and doesn't transfer to iPod, which I'm using for backing tracks as a solo musician.

Although you talk about perceived loudness, reading between the lines I think you're really delving in to mixing techniques - once you've honed that a bit, the loudness can be addressed at a "mini-mastering" stage.
Maybe some things I do might help a little (but I'm working with rock music exclusively so YMMV):
In your initial mix setup, set your Output fader kinda low-ish (I use around -6)
Add your first tracks - in my case, drums. Get the balance that sounds right. Don't add reverb to individual tracks (yet) but I usually have in my mix set up sends for reverb to Bus 1 and a delay on bus 2
Add bass. Get the bass sounding right, and don't be afraid to use multiple compressors. I often use a compressor at a low ratio, say 2:1 in RMS setting with a low threshold. Then I might add another compressor, this time a higher ratio, with a much faster attack and as fast a release as possible. Turn off auto gain. The basics of this technique also can help with vocals too.
As Fred said above, choose to take out frequencies rather than add them.
Now, my preference is add the vocals. Work them up. Everything else is added around those three essentials to taste. If adding more instruments clutters/muddies up your bass and drums, fix them so they fix in your spectrum. Your output should be peaking at ≤ -6. As you've not applied any automation yet, you can select all the tracks set so far by rubber banding them, and fading them up and down in unison. Clipping indication on individual tracks (NOT the output) doesn't matter - your tracks have a huge amount of headroom; your output doesn't.
Once everything is added you can then tweak your other parameters and reverb etc. More details would need a book.
Once you have your mix sounding good, bounce it.
Then I open a fresh template I have for the "mini-mastering" stage and load my bounce (undithered, still 24 bit) I use AdLimiter but as LE doesn't have that (and I'm not sure if LE even has a multi-pressor - another really useful tool) I'd suggest multiple compressors again if that's what you think it needs.The idea here is that if you use multiple compressors, each one doesn't compress that much and you can avoid the wheezing and puffing from using one compressor with too heavy a hand.
I'd suggest that compressor 1 has a long attack and slow release. Set the threshold to give you a minimal few db of gain reduction, ratio maybe ≤ 3:1. Turn off autogain, and set your makeup gain to be slightly more than your gain reduction. Add compressor two, with the same settings. As you add more compressors, if you've set this up right, the compressor is receiving a slightly hotter input and will overall introduce considerable compression, but no individual compressor is introducing pumping.
Anyway, hope this gives you some ideas to try.

Can't get proper HP printer settings dialog, only featureless generic Windows Print settings.

So I have an HP Deskjet 3050 J610, connected via wifi. I can print from it just fine, but I only have the standard Windows printing options, which are very limited. I don't get any color options, or printing on both sides, or anything like that. Basically my only options are "print in grayscale" and "print in Max DPI". So I presume I am using generic printer drivers, instead of the proper HP drivers. I remember I once had it working right, and it had a nice HP dialog with pictures that would ask me if I want to print for a presentation, or draft, or print on both sides, etc.
But I already have the proper HP drivers installed. So I run "HP Deskjet 3050 J610 series.exe" in the HP printer drivers folder. I click "connect to a new printer". I click 'wireless'. It finds my printer. I select it under "model name", and press 'next'. It sets up the printer properly, but when I try to go and print with it, I'm still presented with the crippled generic windows print dialog!
How do I get the nice HP drivers settings dialog back again?
EDIT: I'm on Windows 8.1 Preview. I have also tried to set up the printer on a Windows 7 laptop, using the same driver download from the official HP website, and that laptop too also only gets to use the generic windows printing dialog! What am I doing wrong?

Where can i get proper software for Audigy 2 Z

i bought an audigy 2 zs and it came without any software bundled. i've been searching all night everywhere, including the creative/soundblaster websites for the proper software, but can't find any. all i could find was web updates that needed the previous version of the software to be installed, which i obviously dont have. after downloading and installing a bunch of stuff i finall got something to work.
In Device Manager I have Creative SB Audigy 2 (WDM) listed. But that's not Audigy 2 ZS right? In the Speaker Settings I can only go up to 6., but doesn't the ZS support up to 7. I'm quite confused and frustrated. Please help! Thanks!

Did you buy the soundcard separate from your PC and if you did:
OEMs come ship with an Applications & Drivers disc and joystick panel.
OEM SI you buy straight from a systems integrator and they give you NOTHING except for the card itself.
If your soundcard came with your PC like Dell (using that as an example) it would most likely be an OEM SI and uses Manufacturer drivers instead of Creative's drivers in order to insure compatibility. Some SIs also like to tweak the soundcard to suit the PC they're building. If your PC is like that you should go straight to the manufacturer and ask for the necessary drivers. Also by software I assume you mean the drivers and MediaSource right? If you bought a true OEM the disc would come with those things. Creative also DOES NOT support OEM SIs because they are manufacturer's responsibility as well as OEMs but a lot of times the drivers here on the website are compatible especially with true OEMs. I have an Audigy 2 ZS OEM and I'm using the updated drivers on this site but I agree Creative should offer COMPLETE downloads because even retail customers lose their Installation CD. It would save them (both Creative and the customers) the hassle of getting a new CD and improve customer relations.

I have a requirement to setup Forms SSO for multiple users, whose RAD can be grouped into different roles. For example we have RAD for Developer role, Accounting role etc. All users belonging to Accounting group should share the same RAD and so on. Thus, in my formsweb.cfg there are only configuration sections for each group.
I want to create an Welcome page for each user so that once user signs on, this page will display a link to let user connect to his/her Forms Application. For example the welcome page should have a dynamic link .../forms90/f90servlet?config=<Application>, where the variable Application is exactly the RAD of the logged on user.
How can I archive this (by JavaScript or Servlet) ?

In the doGet/doPost method of the ActionServlet you have the request object. So you can set a key-object combination to it.

How can i get my MacBook Pro to output a 120 hZ signal to my TV?

I have a 2012 MacBook pro and an Insignia 120 Hz television. I would like to watch movies/play games on my TV in 120 hertz. What cables do i need, and what do i have to do to get this to work. It currently shows that the highest refresh rate i can reach in the display settings is 60 Hz. Is this because of the cables i'm using? I currently have the rocketfish minidisplay to hdmi adapter hooked up to a hdmi cable to the tv. I have read other discussions relating to this issue but they got congested with people's personal issues. An approach i saw to getting this to work was by getting the Mini-Display port to Dual-Link DVI adapter. If this is the best means of accomplishing my goals, where do i go from there? And please, no bull****. If you know the answer/could help, help; if you don't know the answer, don't post.

How can I get my audio input and output devices back? I have no sound and cannot see any of the devices in Audio MIDI Setup..??

Hi, I tried to set up a new output audio device on my mac that would have multiple outputs (iBox Twist speaker and my internal speaker) but when I went to click onto one of the iBox Twist (there were 2 options available: iBox Twist and iBox Twist Stereo), Audio MIDI Setup crashed and when I finally got that back open, I found that there were no audio input or output devices to be found. My sound is working, as when I turn on my iMac, the starting sound still plays, however the volume control in the menu bar is no longer a black colour, but grey and when I try to change the sound on my keyboard it does not change. This already happened to me once, and after 3 hours I managed to fix it very simply (switching off Mac, unplugging power cord, leaving for 15 seconds, plug power cord back in and switch Mac back on, holding Alt, Cmd, P and R keys until you hear the Starting Up sound twice) however this same technique that fixed it once before is not working this time and I am still stuck without sound. I have tried Repair Permissions, rebooting in Safe Mode, Hardware Test and checking for Software Updates. Has anyone else had this problem and managed to fix it?

In case anyone has had the same problem as me, I have just managed to fix this by doing the following:
Switch off Mac
Switch back on in Safe Mode (Hit power button, then hold Shift key until a loading bar appears at the bottom of the screen).
Switch off Mac again
Remove power cord and wait 15 seconds
Plug power cord back in and hold down the keys alt, cmd, p, r all at the same time until you hear Starting chime for a second time and hopefully your audio will back.

I have a HP DeskJet 1220c Printer - It is considered to be a professional model. It is an older model, but it prints 11x17 so it serves my purpose at times. My color cartridge was running out, so a friend purchased two ink cartridges for me while in another city. So, I cannot simply go back to the store. That is the starting point.
Anway, when I removed the protective tape on the color cartridge, part of the actual head came off. The Black cartridge works just fine. So I decided to call HP about getting a replacement. It goes someting line this.

After much discussion, she opened a case number for me.

Cindy took down the information and said that someone would call me back. My printer is a commercial unit, and they are not the commercial section.
Next day, no call back, so I called the same number. Cindy of course is unknown or not available, and I am told to write a letter to the ISB Team ......whoever they are....at this address in Boise ID 83714.
I said that I would simply ship them the defective cartridge to them. I was told "Do not send them the cartridge..... they will tell you what to do. If you send them the cartridge, you will never get it back" Ok, I was warned.

A big part of the problem as I see it - constant reference was made to the fact that my DeskJet 1220c is a Commercial Machine, and I am not a business but an individual, and they simply do not know how to handle that. I have to get into the commercial part of their operations.
The Printer type and Serial number are very important to know when replacing a defective ink cartridge I guess.
Total time on the phone to date, maybe 2 hours. Am I going to give up. You guess. If I stop, I will have nothing of interest regarding Hewlitt Packard support service to report:-))

Where Can I Get PROPER Customer Service?

I need to ask questions about using the program and I try to use this forum but MOST people don't even get any answer. How do I contact the customer service?

It’s a design mistake.
Do the following:
1. There is a 75% black rectangle behind the text lines "New Slider Design" and "Company name …". Drag this rectangle outside the composition widget.
2. This rectangle is defined by mistake as a footer element. Deselect "footer" in the upper command strip.
3. Now place it back into the composition widget.
4. Because now this rectangle is the frontmost element, select the two text lines and bring them to the front again.
5. Now all works as expected.
One more remark:
There is a white rectangle in the back, which seems to have no function (see screenshot):
