    I have installed the Toad 9.0 recently while login using the username & password for oracle 10.0 database , i am getting the error
    Can't initialize OCI Error 1
    But i am able to login using the Sql Plus successfully..
    Thanks in Advance.

    Here's one more reason why this error occurs in Toad. It is when you have more than one Oracle Client installed on your machine. Even when you select the correct Oracle Home in "Connect Using" field of Toad, you still get this error "Can't initialize OCI. Error -1". So, to solve that you need to go to the installation folder of that Oracle Home (e.g. C:\Oracle\ora92\), then go to the BIN folder. Open Oracle.Key in Notepad and confirm that it is showing Registry entry/path to the correct Oracle Home (e.g. HOME0 or HOME1 or whatever).
    I hope this helps.

    so problem is not with the Oracle database but with Toad.
    So root cause & fix are external to Oracle.
    This problem is off topic for this forum & should be posted somewhere in TOAD-world

  • Windows 7 Desktop error message "Can't initialize plugins directory" - Blocked from Installing/uninstalling anything

    Blocked from running *.exe
    files. Blocked in Control Panel from Uninstalling anything.
    Consistently returns: "Can't initialize plugins directory"
    What I tried:
    1. Safe Mode with Network
    2. File cleanup from C Drive Tools
    3. Environmental variable: changed
    to this c:/TEMP
    c:/TMP (Created TEMP folder
    on
    directory tree.)
    4. Googled error-- known
    issue but fixes do not work. (Created New Profile, SFC Scan
    of Windows files, moved TEMP folder,
    etc)
    5. Run as administrator
    6. Started after the support desk for ACT client management software uninstalled SQL to restore access to a CLIENT database that was lost for reasons unknown. So it appears some damage was done.
    Question is, what was damaged and how to fix it, if this caused this problem and it was not malware fiddling with
    registry.

    Hi,
    You can open Control Panel\System and Security, click
    Event Viewer under Administrator Tools to check if some logs record recent errors.
    Also you can start computer and typing F8, click Repair Your Computer to perform
    System Restore.

  • When installing, get "Error! Can't initialize plug-ins directory"

    Began having problems when opening Firefox and trying to make Firefox the default browser. Windows 7 updated, AVG up-to-date and virus scans clean, MalwareBytes up-to-date and scans clean. Troubleshooting finally caused me to uninstall and try for clean install ... normal Windows 7 uninstall process successful. Made sure Firefox folder in "Program Files" was deleted. Downloaded "DownloadApp_1_7_5_198_Setup" (29,442 KB) from Mozilla website and run ... get "Error! Can't initialize plug-ins directory. Please try again later."

    Thank you guig2! Followed your bleepingcomputer.com link above and found the problem was my permissions on C:\Users\Bill\AppData\Local/Temp. It was not "Full Control" for my User or Administrator. Updated the two lines to permit full control for folder, subfolder and files. Ran perfect.

    I've tried to re-install twice the program and also restarted my PC several times and it still shows this error whenever i try to run it.

    Hi,
    When I start sapcnsl.exe in DOS it works properly.
    If I open URL: "http://localhost/Web/isapi_sapcnsl.dll"
    in my browser (IE6.0) the following message appears:

    He cannot initialize the dll? I'am using a WebAS 6.4-System.
    Thx,

    Was this problem every resolved?
    We are having a similar problem.  Most of the time it responds correctly but several times a day it crashes with the same error.  SAP Web console is running on Windows 2003 Server.  I usually correct by recycling the worker process in IIS.

  • Help!my application can not load oci.dll

    i have a server with windows 2003 enterprise sp2, oracle 10g was installed on it.now i want to run a .net application,but it's not working,cause oci.dll can not be loaded. then i installed PL/SQL and instant client 11g. but still not working. the error is :"initialization is error, can not load oci.dll.....returned 0". also,i wroted a small application to load oci with win32 api(LoadLibrary) and returned 0 too.
    I'm sure there are no 32bit,64bit things. from os to application,32bit was checked. and i changed server but same os ,same oracle, after application and instant client installed,same problems got. so i'm think about is there any conflicts when oracle 10g and odac/instant client work together

    If you have Oracle 10 installed on a Windows computer, you have oci.dll.
    If "oci.dll can not be loaded", the problem is not a lack of oci.dll.
    The first thing you should do is uninstall Instant Client and anything else you installed to fix the problem (I don't know what you mean with "install PL/SQL").
    Then check if oci.dll can be loaded, e.g. by starting sqlplus and connecting to a database.
    If that works, oci.dll is fine.
    If your program cannot load oci.dll, something in your setup has a problem.
    Maybe it cannot find oci.dll and you have to tell it where to look.

  • Trace "Unable to initialize OCI 8 environment handle ORA-01821"?

    Hi
    When I execute an oci program, I receive the following error:
    "Unable to initialize OCI 8 environment handle ORA-01821: date format not recognized"
    The program is OneWorld Xe, a black box for my purposes, meaning that I cannot see the source code.
    Can I somehow see what is happening with this? I would like to see what date format is entered, etc.
    env:
    aix 5.2, db 9.2
    Thanks in advance
    Thomas

    Without the source code being available its not possible to say what may be happening. The error has nothing to do with environment handle creation or initialization because environment initialization does not take any date parameter or anything similar. Is there a set up where you were able to run the application successfully and it started failing later on or did it never work for you ?

  • Resolving OCI error issues

    I have an apex 4.0 app running on 11gr2 oracle that calls an oracle proc that uses an autonomous transaction pragma and then calls a microsoft sql server proc via a db link and heterogenous services. I had an error on the sql server side with the proc (PK insert violation) and then received an OCI error on the apex side. I fixed the issue and verified thatI could run the oracle proc to ms sql proc in toad without error but I am still getting the OCI error in apex. Besides restarting apex, is there anything else that I can do to stop the OCI errors from occuring in apex?

    Hello KelGrey,
    I have noticed your post about your Photosmart 7510 showing "offline". I did some research on this issue for you and I have found a troubleshooting document for you to follow to hopefully correct the problem.
    I am going to post a link below for you, you will need to select your operating system first and then select the troubleshooting guide that is titled " Printer is offline " Message Displays on the Computer and the Printer Will Not Print ".
    I hope this helps!

    The root cause is in the error ora-1426, which you can look up in the online error documentation at http://tahiti.oracle.com . No one knows every error message by heart. This means it is expected you look up the error prior to posting, and you don't expect any volunteer in this forum to look up the error on your behalf.
    Also this is a typical candidate for being a known problem, and known problems can be found on My Oracle Support.

  • MC DAQ initialize.vi error

    Hello,
    I am trying to use  MC DAQ Initialize.vi for reading some CCP  and I have the bellow error
    -301034
    MC DAQ Initialize.vi
    Error -301034 occurred at MC DAQ Initialize.vi
    Possible reason(s):
    ECU Measurement and Calibration Toolkit:  (Hex 0xFFFB6816) The definition of the measurement could not be found in the A2L file. Most likely, the name of the measurement is misspelled or otherwise invalid, or the A2L database file has been corrupted. Solution: Make sure that the name of the measurement is spelled correctly and that the A2L database file is valid.
    The a2l database is ok cause i'm using with other Vi's. Also the names of signals are copied exactly from a2l file so there is no typo error.
    Does anybody encountered this issue or can somebady help with an idea?
    Thanks,
    Vincent

    Hello Vincent,
    You should be able to open the A2L file with notepad.  I would suggest opening it and searching for your measurement.  If you can find it, then the name must not be a typo.  There may be something inside the measurement that our parser is having trouble with.  If you could copy the section for your measurement here, we may be able to see what is going on.  (You can use dummy values for addresses, etc when you paste the part here.)
    You can also try running the M_C Explorer example that ships with the toolkit (Help-Find Examples. Hardware Input and Output -> CAN -> NI-CAN -> ECU Measurement and Calibration -> Advanced).  This example opens all the measurements and characteristics in the A2L file, so you can see which values you have access to and if they are configured properly.
    I hope that helps.  Have a great day.

  • OCI Error ORA-01403: no data found in oracle goldengate replication after tts instaniation

    I recently migrated our tg core system from sun solaris(11.1.0.7) to linux (11.2.0.3) environment using goldengate method (transportable tablespace method used for instantiation).
    The initial replication worked with HANDLECOLLISIONS and after I monitor the lag finished, I took Handlecollisions off and noticed discarded report with OCI Error ORA-01403: no data found in two replications.
    I followed every step in the tts migration steps provided by oracle best practice.
    Can anybody provide any clue how do I fix this issue?
    Thank you in advance.

    extract and replicat are on schema level.
    DO I have to do anything for replication on schema level?

    See if you can connect via SQL*Plus to each database - using tnsnames.
    In SQL*Plus:
    SQL> conn ggs_owner/ggs_owner@orcl
    SQL> conn ggs_owner2/ggs_owner2@orcl2
    The 12154 error is related to Oracle not knowing who/where it is you are trying to connect to.
    The outcome of both of these should show that you are connected. If anything else appears, start fixing from there.

    My bpel project flow is as follows.
    First, I initalize the temp varialbe like this.
    <assign name="setInitialVar">
    <copy>
    <from>
    <ns1:selEmpOutput xmlns:ns1="http://lgesoa.lge.com/EmpSpec/types">
    <ns1:EMPNO/>
    <ns1:ENAME/>
    <ns1:JOB/>
    <ns1:MGR/>
    <ns1:HIREDATE/>
    <ns1:SAL/>
    <ns1:COMM/>
    <ns1:DEPTNO/>
    </ns1:selEmpOutput>
    </from>
    <to variable="tempVariable" part="payload"
    query="/ns1:selEmpOutputCollection/ns1:selEmpOutput"/>
    </copy>
    </assign>
    Second, get Data(ex. 10 Employee Information List) from DB for useing Java embedded activity.
    Third, assing employee info to tempVariable, then BPEL assign just only one Employee Information. and next data can't assign and the BPEL make an error.
    here is my error message..
