Can't install After Effects with Production Studio

I have an older version of Production Studio that includes AE 7.0 I has to wipte my drive and reinstall Windows XP and all my software. However, when i try to install the full Production Studio, it says that AE 7 is already installed. It is not!!
The problem started when I first did the reinstall, the computer crashed. I then installed everything and put in the studio serial number. ALL the other prodcuts ran fine, photoshop, illust, premiere, etc. BUT AE 7 asked for a serail number seperately. I then unistalled everything. I used an uninstalled and even a registry cleaner. I got rid of EVERY Adobe program, file, folder and even registry entry. However, the studio installed still says AE is present!!! There is NOTHING on my computer that says Adobe! What is it checking that it thinks there is a copy of AE somewhere!!
Any help, please......I need to use it, but i can not afford to upgrade at this time. I spent a LOT of money on this bundle a few years ago. I just want to use what i bought.

(i called adobe, they will not give any support for this legacy suite, well they tried a little after 3 phone calls, but the tech was not able to do anythig other than delete some older folders)

@Adobe First, you should get rid of your crappy OUTSOURCED phone tech support. They wasted over 2 hours of my time and your money and they know nothing.
@Tam151 This is how I finally figured out that to do (on my own!!!!!!). THe problem is caused by the auto install of Direct X. The installer installs AE then installs Direct X without checking even though it was already installed. Then the system does a reboot before the rest of the Studio is installed. This causes AE to be installed seperately from the Studio and hence causes the registration problem.
SO, first, I had to do a system restore to a date before I started to install the Studio. This takes care of the hidden registry files. I tried for hours and hours with about 4 different programs and NOTHING will remove the 'hidden' entry and Adobe could not help me. THe tech support took my computer for over an hour trying to uninstall everything which was a waste, they didn't even know where the reg entry was. That is why I did a system restore. But now there is still the same problem if I try to install again. The solution is to copy all the DVDs onto your hard drive AND DELETE THE DIRECT X folders in ALL LOCATIONS!!!!! Do the install from the hard drive and now it will do a complete install without the direct X problem (although make sure you have Direct X installed already) and you will be able to register and use all the products!!
1. system restore to before you started the install
2. copy all dvds to hard drive
3. delete all dirext x folders
4. install from hard drive

If your system does not meet the minimum system requirements you have to go back to a version that does. Try the direct download links you'll find here.. CS5 comes bundled with CS4 for AE which is the last version to run on a 32 bit system.

Can't install After Effects as full version

Hi, I can't install After Effects as full version although veing customer of the complete CC. With all the other programs it works fine (I installed them via desktop application) but after effects is still shown as test version. And this free trial is over now. Instead of giving me the intsall or udpate button ot shows the buy-button. Has anyone had the same problem or knows what to do? Many thanks

If you did all the process correct, and your plan is paid I only see one way to solve this issue.
Follow this steps and for sure your problem will be solved.
Windows
Choose Start > Run, type %systemroot% \system32\drivers\etc, and then press Enter.
Right-click the hosts file and select Open. Select Notepad for the application to open the hosts file.
Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example,127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
Save and close the file.
Mac OSLog in as an administrator to edit the hosts file in Mac OS.
In a Finder window, choose Go > Go To Folder.
Type /etc.
Select the hosts file and open it.
Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example,127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
Save and close the file.
After editing this Hosts file, open Adobe creative cloud and log in once again. Is important that you start once again the session so Adobe creative cloud recognizes that Hosts file was edited.
You can do this by clicking in:
Preferences»Log out.

I am tired of the complete disregard Adobe shows to its customers.
I can't install After Effects. All other apps do install.

Marcos-Brazil what error messages do you receive when you try to install After Effects? What version of After Effects are you attempting to install? What operating system are you using?

Why I can't install after effect cc 2014?

I can only install the CS6 but I need the CC (for warp stabilizer VFX).

i have adobe cs5 master collection and every thing was fine untill my computer crashes due to virus i finally i install windows 7 on my computer.
and when i try to install my adobe cs5 master collection on my new os every thing installed except after effects and i am getting an error message.?

first message says some required components may have failed to install.
this could impact functionality of installed applications.

1.restart the application.
2.exti all applications including start up items virus checking and firewall software.

Can i use After Effects with FC4?! And how?

Hello! For a while i thought you could not use Adobe after effects with Final express...but i was wondering again if i can use it, and if i can, how do i use it with FCE?? Thanks!

Well after AE, i can continue editing it in final cut? Or once i use it in AE, it is too late to put the sequence or scene back into FCE?
I guess an example would be that if i just want one scene or one sequence from final cut to be used in AE, i would export that sequence as a QT movie? Then how do i put it back into Final Cut once it is done with AE?

Can I install After Effects (Student Edition) on my home server along with my desktop PC.

I in the near future I want to add a server to my home setup so I can access files from anywhere and have more storage than my current computer. To save time I want to be able to render animations on my server but still be able to work in after effects on my desktop. Is this possible. I currently own a copy of the CS6 Production Premium (Student Edition) with AE Being the main software in my arsenal.

Can't install After Effects CS5

Hi all
I need help; I just picked up Adobe After Effects CS5, but I can't install it because it says it is "only installable on a 64-bit system." I'm running Windows XP SP3, and I see no reason why it shouldn't work. Adobe Support Advisor also picked up no issues with it.
Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

I can't install after effects

Can't install After Effects trial but can install other Adobe programs?

I've been trying to download the After Effects trial on my Vista for the past two hours to no avail, with "Error 107". I've tried the troubleshooting on your website, following "Solution 1", clearing cookies, deleting files, trying the download through Chrome AND Internet Explorer, the good old restart the computer, saving the Download Assistant in multiple locations, and NOTHING worked. So I tried seeing if this was the case for all Adobe programs, and every other one works perfectly through the ADA. The problem seems to lie within the After Effects. What's going on and how can I solve this?

Do you have a 64-bit version of Vista?
You cannot install or run After Effects CS5/5.5 on any of the following operating systems:
32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows XP Home or Professional
32-bit editions of Windows Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise
32-bit editions of Windows 7 Starter, Home Premium, Professional, or Ultimate

Can I install After Effects only?

Hi all. I just upgraded from CS3 Production Premium to CS4 Design Premium and I want my After Effects back. I still have the disk for the CS3 Production Premium so if I pop it in, can I install just After Effects? Thanks!

Is it possible to script After Effects with Visual Studio?

It's fairly easy to do with Illustrator, but I can't seem to find any documentation about how to do it with After Effects.
With Illustrator, I can simply import the ScriptingSupport.aip to Visual Studio as a reference and have full c# access.
Can't seem to find the equivalent in After Effects.
If that doesn't exist, is there a way to kick off an AE script from c#?

The AE scripting host only works with AE running. It doesn't even work with just hooking up to ESTK. You realyl need to run the AE process one way or another. Of course scripts can be invoked by triggering teh respective menu commands or providing them as commandline parameters then, but that very much is the long and short of it. Generally one would rather run a plug-in or script panel from within AE and connect to the external processes...
