Hi all,
You have forgotten some configuration steps. Run the configuration utility again and select product instance registration under planning options.
Good Luck!

    Those are just warnings and shouldn't be an issue.
    What browser are you using, have you tried to go directly and through workspace to the application creation wizard.

  • Hyperion Planning User Preferences

    Hi All,
         Is there any way to automate the selection of user variables in Hyperion planning.
    for e.g if admin defines a user variable to all users. The users need to go preferences each time to set the variable. is there any utility in planning which the admins can use to apply the variables to each user. so when the user login, he need not go to preferences and set it.
    Would highly appreciate your reply.
    Thanks.

    You can have a look at HSP_USER_VARIABLE_VALUE, you will get a little hint from Cameron's Blog For Essbase Hackers: Stupid Planning queries #7 -- User Variables

  • Can't log in to any other user account except admin

    I have one computer (out of a lab full of 36 computers) that has a problem creating additional accounts beyond the first.
    I can set up multiple other accounts (either admin, standard, or managed accounts), but I can't log in to any other accounts except the admin account. Here's what I do:
    1. When the computer was unpacked I set up the admin user, and automatic login of the admin user using the usual Apple first run setup windows.
    2. In System Preferences -> Accounts, I click the lock and enter my admin password so I can make other accounts. This works fine.
    3. I create an account and give it a password (I've tried blank passwords too).
    3a. The system warns me that automatic login is turned on (set to the admin user currently). I click the "Keep Automatic Login" button. The other account is now created and all looks well; I can see it's home folder in the Users folder.
    4. I switch to the Login Options view, and choose that other account from the automatic login popup menu.
    4a. The system prompts me for the account password. This is where the problem happens.
    4b. On 35 of the computers, this works fine. One 1 computer, the system warns me that "You did not enter the correct password for your user account." I can click OK there, but nothing I enter for the password works.
    I also tried logging out from the admin user, and I simply can not log in to any other account. I've tried one letter passwords; I've tried blank passwords; I've tried variations on account names; I've tried all-caps; I've tried all-lowercase. I can log in to the admin account with no problems; I can set up as many other accounts as I like, but I can't use any of them.
    Any ideas? Should I just wipe the hard drive and re-install? That's certainly a viable option, but it's baffling me why it's only this one out of 36 computers having the problem.

    Smells like a corrupted OS installation. Two options. Erase & Install or hook it up to a good machine, via target disk mode, and clone the booted machine, using something like Carbon Copy Cloner, SuperDuper!, etc., after erasing and reformatting the calcitrant machine, and see if that fixes things.

  • Hyperion planning user

    Hi,
    I created an Essbase shared services user with access rights on roles as follows:
    ROLE ACCESS GIVEN
    ASP 9.3.1 server -> Filter Administrator + Provisioning manager
    Analytic server Administrator + Provisioning manager
    RDBMS server Administrator
    Hyperion shared services -> Global roles Dimension Editor+Application creator
    The username when used for creating planning application gives the error : "Error in adding application to Project"
    When we used the project: " APS 9.3.1 servers"
    Kindly help.

    Hi,
    You can easily create a new project in shared services and assign planning applications to it, right click projects > new > enter a new name e.g. planning.
    Cheers

  • Can't log in with newly created user on new install of Arch [solved]

    Hi all,
    Yesterday I installed Arch anew (because I had a hardware failure that took out my hard drive), but now I'm encountering an issue with logging in.
    After following the installation guide, and creating a new user, I find that I'm unable to log in as said user.
    It complains about wrong password, but it's the exact same password that I entered mere moments before that, when creating the new user.
    I can "log in" as said user by first logging in as root (which does work) and doing "su - <username>" (though then it doesn't ask for a password).
    Can someone point me in the right direction to fix this problem?

    I think cfr meant to say you shouldn't "fix" bash path - as some users did. Unfortunately there's a bit confusion wrt which paths should be used - see this ML thread.
    Some say we should keep /bin/foo for compatibility, others say that we should boldly move to /usr/bin/foo.

  • How can I log in to my macbook user without the rainbow wheel coming up?

    Okay, So I try to log in to my macbook and after like 10 minutes the screen logs in but when it starts to load my desktop the computer frezzes and rainbow wheel pops up, then it ends up taking forever that the screen saver comes up and eventually I have to just restart the computer. Is there anyway I can prevent this from happeneing ?

    Might not be enough free space on the startup disk.
    Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.
    If disk space isn't an issue and you are running Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5, or 10.6, launch Disk Utility located in /Applications/Utilities
    Select the startup disk in the panel on the left then select the First Aid tab.
    Click  Verify Disk  (not Verify Disk Permissions)
    Follow the instructions Using Disk Utility repairs are necesary.
    If you have Lion v10.7 installed, use Lion Recovery to repair the startup disk.
    And check System Prferences > Accounts  (or Users & Groups) - Login Items
    Delete any apps listed in Login Items, restart your Mac.
    BTW ..  when you post for help, please tell us which Mac OS X you have installed.
    Thanks!

  • Local user provisioning requires local administrator privileges?

    Hello,
    Scenario: User-A needs to provision User-B as a local administrator on a Windows 2008R2 server.
    Is there a way for User-A to do this without User-A being a member of the local Administrators or Domain Admin group on the said server?
    Thanks

    Is it not possible to make user A part of the administrators group?
    If you are trying to work around the fact that user A does not have administrative rights over the box then  your first course of action is to give user A administrative rights. There are several ways to do this.
    Perhaps a more in depth explanation of why user B has to have administrative rights given to him by user A we may be able to come up with a solution or workaround.

  • Network users can't log on to client computers

    Hi,
    This is my first OSX server install, so bear with me if I am missing something!
    I have searched for a solution, but cant find one similar maybe I am doing something drastically wrong?
    The Problem Summarised;
    New Mac OSX Snow Leopards Mac Mini server, clean install.
    New iMac OSX Snow Leopard Client.
    Can not log in using the network users. I have joined to the open directory, I get a green dot saying network available and all network users listed.
    When I try to login, the OSX Login screen shakes as if incorrect password is being used.
    In a bit more detail
    Ok, I have installed a new Mac Mini Snow Leopard Server, created a handful of user accounts and then bound my iMac snow leopard client to the server (using the open directory utility under the accounts login preferences).
    I have also added the computer as a client computer under the servers workgroup manager app.
    I have also (using the workgroup manager on server) selected the client computer, selected preferences and added the users to the access part.
    The client now shows the OSX login box with a green dot saying network accounts available. The network accounts all appear.
    However, when I try to login as one of the network users, the login box just shakes and wont let me login.
    Any ideas? If there is a known bit of documentation, could someone point me to it?
    * saw this posted in a different secretion and I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE.

    My guess is:
    Have you created or pointed their home directories to a specific location?
    Each network user in WGM user needs to have their home directories defined to a folder on the local machine or a folder/location on the server. Here is an example... my user has it's Home defined as being within the /Users folder.
    http://i42.tinypic.com/dyoupu.jpg
    If this is not done, you will see the results you've described so far... the appearance of a successful login, then the shaking login window.

  • Access to particular member combination in Hyperion Planning

    Hi All,
    Hyperion Planning cube has costcenter dimension and Entity(Location) dimension. We have an issue where a user requires access in Hyperion planning
    User wants access to
    ·         Entity A to a particular costcenter CC1 and
    ·         Entity B to all costcenters
    If all costcenters are provided access, User will be able to view all costcenters for Entity A also.
    Kindly let me know if any one of you have faced this kind of requirement and have any solution.
    Thank you!

    Hi Sowjanya,
    Access can restricted at Cost Center level basically access is maintained on four dimensions SAVE-Scenario,Account,Version and Entity But in your scenario it can be acheived by doing something like in the form have a additional row/column for custom dimension and input some random numbers which will be something like
    Entity A -> Cost Center A1= 12
    Entity A -> Cost Center A2=13
    Entity A -> Cost Center A3=14
    Entity B -> Cost Center A1= 12
    Entity B -> Cost Center A2= 13
    Entity B -> Cost Center A3= 14
    Which ever the combination you wanted to hide make it as #missing and try to supress rows having #missing , its just a rough logic i can give as i had this idea coming to my mind but didnt implement.
    This is incase if there is a single for for submission and review etc and if it needs to be acheived  through adhoc analysis as well , not sure of the implementation . Happy to see different approaches.
    Thanks
    Amith

  • Security on Year dimension in Hyperion Planning.

    Need to enable security on Year dimension on Hyperion Planning for below requirement. I know that we cannot enable security on year dimenison in Hyperion Planning, but want know if there is any custom solution.
    Requirement:
    IT users to have write access to Scenario: FY12FCSTJUN for year FY12 for period JUN to DEC & FY13 for Period OCT to SEP. (Calender year starts at OCT of every year)
    Normall users they want to have read access to Scenario: FY12FCSTJUN for year FY12 for period JUN to DEC and write access to Scenario: FY12FCSTJUN for Year FY13 for Period OCT to DEC
    1)we can modify the start period, end period, start yr and End yr for FY12FCSTJUN Scenario dimension to make FY12 FY12FCSTJUN as read/write for Specific year, but it won't meet the requirement.
    2)I have already tried making modification to the Planning respository table ( changed the value for ENFORCE_SECURITY parameter to 1 for DIM_ID 38 for Year in the HSP_Dimension table)on one of VM environments,but it won't enable security on the Year dimension.
    3)We can create a Budget scenario to achieve above, but it involves too many changes accross all the webforms and B rules, so we want to see if there is any custom solution available.
    Any suggestion/workaround to resolve the issue?

    Oracle will be releasing a patch in dec 2012 to fix/enable the security on year dimension. this patch is applicable for 11.1.2.2 version.

    There has to be some way to restore the default privileges I had before the reboot.
    I guess something got corrupted during the reboot.
    Thanks in advance,

    Just as an FYI OpenSolaris build 134 uses the automounter to mount /export/home to /home and /home is actually being written to /etc/passwd. So if you're still in the habit of telling Linux admins to disable the automounter please stop.

    alanNever was in that habit. My automounter is not disabled and is configured as such. I don't think it was that way out of the box, however. Dunno about OpenSolaris. The SMC, whenever you make changes to a user account, still overwrites your home directory of "/export/home/userid" with "/home/userid", and this will prevent you from logging in. If you use the SMC you need to go back and change the home directory; I don't know if they created patches in the past year to correct this since I quit using it, that being one of the reasons.

  • JAPI/Hyperion Planning

    Hello;At the organization where I'm at, we have several departments. We have users from each of these departments inputting data and we like them to be able to aggregate the results from their input as necessary.I've created a small app using the Visual Basic API which passes a parameter (the user's dept) to a substitution variable on the server for use in a calc script for that dept. This works well for the non-Hyperion Planning users.We also have a group of users using the Hyperion Planning web client. Does anyone know of a good approach to the same thing modifying the .JSP's and making calls through the JAPI? If anyone is doing this, I'd sure like to know more about how you got there. Thanks!Rick [email protected]

    I have been having the same issue, and I'm looking for a real solution. I need to pass the dept from the planning web form to a calc script. I find it very inefficient to calculate a large portion of the database each time a department is updated and do not want multiple forms/calc scripts to manage. If anyone has a solution, I would love to hear it. Even if it involves modifying JSPs or using the JAPI. This is a major omission of functionality and probably will result in very slow performance and user dissatisfaction. I have over 2000 departments and the org structure changes frequently, so the best solution would be to pass the current deptid to a generic calc script. Please HELP!!!...anyone

  • Is there a complete demo on Hyperion Planning?

    Other products normally attach a complete demo for reference, I can't see it in Hyperion Planning. Might because I can't configure application wizard correctly, does the sample application can totally explain Hyperion's idea and thinking?
    I don't think documentation of Hyperion Planning is a good candidate.

    I think that you are looking for a sample application for Planning, is that correct?
    If so then the later versions (9.3 I think onwards) have a shipped sample application that can be installed from management/creation of application area. In fact I think that 9.2 also contained.
    The documentation explains how to install.
    Hope this helps
