Can't recieve calendar appointments in Office 2003 (running on Exchange 5.5)

We are running Exchange 5.5 and using Outlook 2003. Any client that sends me a calendar appointment I cannot view it. It always comes in as an .ATT file and it cannot be viewed. Any advice?

The advise would be to leave Exchange 5.5 as soon as possible and upgrade to Exchange 2010 or later.
As for the issue with the ATT-attachments, this often is caused by having a virus scanner installed which integrates itself with Outlook. Disable/uninstall this integration part of your virus scanner (disabling your virus scanner in general isn't a proper
way of testing) and try again.

  • Can Outlook 2007 Calendar Appointments sync over the Air

    Hi,
I have an Iphone 3GS and i wonder if my Outlook 2007 calendar appointments sync over the air as my e-mails do.

As Chris said, you can use MobileMe which provides other handy features as well. Gmail is a good free alternative see here for one way to import. Then see here for instructions to setup google sync on your iPhone.

  • Calendar bug with Office 365 for Education (exchange accounts)

I have an Office 365 Exchange account provided by my University. When I add the account to my Mac, Mail.app and Contacts.app work perfectly. However I receive an error message in Calendar which states that “Calendar needs a valid email address to connect” to my account. The address is clearly valid since it is working in Mail and Contacts. Furthermore, this account works perfectly in iOS Mail, Contacts, and Calendar. The issue is only with Calendar in OS X. Upon researching online, it appears that this issue will occur on Macs if the account is hidden on the Exchange Global Address List (which is true for my account). Below are a few additional points that are related to this bug:
    1. iOS connects to Exchange through ActiveSync which is why I don't see the issue on iOS devices.
    2. OS X connects to Exchange through Exchange Web Services (EWS). OS X supports EWS for Calendar syncing only when a users name is listed on the Global Address List. If the account is hidden (and they usually are for Office 365 educational accounts at Universities complying with FERPA laws) then Calendar.app cannot connect and sync the users calendar. I am not sure if this is by-design or a bug.
    3. The third-party Mac app 'BusyCal 2' also uses EWS to connect to Exchange and it will work regardless of the visibility of the user's account on the GAL.
This has led me to two conclusions: Either  (1) Apple has a bug in Calendar.app, or (2) the bug is in EWS and Busycal 2 is forcing some sort of work-around. It's likely that Apple and Microsoft will need to work together to fix the issue. I've attempted submitting a bug report to Apple but I have no way to contact Microsoft since I am not an admin for the Office 365 plan that my school uses. I would need to go through my admins but they don't seem to care much about this issue. So pretty much I'm left helpless at this point :/
Does my analysis seem valid or does anyone else have any points to contribute? I would appreciate the assistance

    Hi,
There are two ways to share read access to your calendar on premise to Office 365. The method you choose depends on your requirements and the level of access that you want to give to the calendars. But providing write access to the calendar is not possible
    in a Cross-Premise scenario.
For more information, here is a blog for your reference.

  • IPhone is deleting my appointments in Office 2003

I have the phone synched with my PC and set up Mobile me. First day at work with the phone and left it plugged in to the computer all day to stay charged. As each meeting notice passed today, the meeting was deleted from my calendar on my PC - But are still visible on the iPhone.
What's going on, and how do I stop it from deleting my appointments??? It took em one at a time - not clearing the whole day!

I too have the same issue in Outlook 2007. Appointments get deleted after the start time has passed and I do another sync, or so it seems. When I search for the appointment or change the calendar view to "Active Appointments", I see the record of the appointment. This explains why the appointments still show on the iPhone even after I force an overwrite during a sync. I have a call into tech-support and they've escalated to engineering. iPhone is changing a field on the appointment record which causes Outlook to filter it from the standard Day/Week/Month view. I tried customizing the Outlook view as well but there are no filters set.

  • How can I get calendar appointments sent in Outlook to open properly in Calendar?

When someone sends me an appointment from their PC (Outlook) and I open in Calendar, it brings up an old appointment and I am unable to see the one that was sent to me.  Any ideas?

I want to thank you and Bill Hunt for your prompt replies.  However I don’t think they are on point.  My problem is not with a single photograph but entire project consisting of many photographs, transitions, music, etc.  I actually imported two such projects into my video project in Premier Elements.  One cam in perfectly.  The other however, was bollixed up.  It played fine in Elements, but when I reviewed it in Premier, the music shifted two frames forward, and one picture came in sideways.  There may be more, but these problems alone frustrated me from checking further.  The companion project imported without a hitch and plays as designed.  All photos from both projects were taken on the same trip with the same two cameras.
Again, thanks for your time.  If you have any ideas, I would greatly appreciate ;your input.

  • How can I sync calendar in Microsoft Office 2011 with Yosemite Calendars?

This always worked with 10.7 but capability disappeared after installing 10.10. Am I missing something or is there a workaround? Microsoft support says Apple disabled it. True?

Contact Microsoft support and ask for help.  You've paid for the kit, so installation-time support is part of the expectations.  They'll probably suggest a Repair Permissions and a Verify Disk pass, both performed by booting the installation DVD and using Disk Utility from the Utilities menu item, and selecting those two repairs.

  • Office 2003 crashes when printing to PDF

My wifes system is running Windows 7, office 2003 and Adobe Standard 8.2.1.  When she goes to print a file in word or excel as a PDF the application freezes when the "save" window pops up.  We have installed all updates and patches to both Office 2003 (running SP3) and Adobe Acrobat std 8.  This problem started happening when we upgraded her system to Windows 7.  Prior to, she was running Windows XP with the same programs and everything worked fine. I am assuming this is a Windows 7 issue. Can any one help or suggest a fix to this?

Some peopole have been successful with AA8 on Win7, but others have had problems. Adobe's answer will be to upgrade to AA9, the only version they certify for Win7. The first thing to check is to print to the Adobe PDF printer with print-to-file selected. Open the file in Distiller and see if you successfully create a PDF. Assuming that works, then try simply printing to the Adobe PDF printer. This is likely where you will have a problem.

  • Acrobat 7 Pro & Office 2003

My end-user is receiving an error when attempting to create a PDF using the Acrobat 7.0 plug-in within Office 2003 running on Windows XP SP2. (note: Distiller 7.0 works without problems.) The error message received is: "The Acrobat PDFMaker Server could not be loaded. Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?" Choosing Yes to repair or No to not repair has not made any difference. The same error message is repeated each time an attempt is made. Suggestions?

If you are having problems creating a PDF, there are two steps you should do FIRST
Go to the appropriate vendor web site and apply all updates to the program you are using (several recent messages have concerned problems with MS Office conversion, with the response that different versions of Office have different BUGS that must be fixed by a download from Microsoft - and MS Office products are not the only ones which may, from time to time, need to be updated to work properly)
Go to the Acrobat update page and apply the updates for your version of Acrobat
IN NUMBER ORDER (updates are not cumulative so, using version 8 as an example, you must apply 8.1.0 before the 8.1.1 update)
I don't know the current update version (I use 8x) but I'm pretty sure that Acrobat 7.0 has been updated several times... and also that Office has been updated once or twice

  • Outlook 2003 & Recurring Calendar Appointments

I am using Windows XP, Microsoft Exchange Server, with an itouch. If Outlook and itunes were open at the same time, or Outlook was opened after itunes, Outlook would fail to properly operate and would respond: Outlook0.ost is in use and could not be accessed.
For me, this problem was solved be eliminating all recurring appointments in Outlook that did not have an end date. Once end dates for all recurring appointments were set, outlook seems to behave properly now.

I am having the same issue and the article you're suggesting only relates to a Mac operating system. Whereas I do own a Mac (Mac Mini & Macbook), this issue is occuring when I'm attempting to sync my iPhone with my calendar & contacts at the office.
I just recently upgraded to Office 2007 from Office 2003 and now when I try to sync, it seems to get stuck during the syncing of contacts. I am just an end user and my company does not support iPhone so there aren't any changes I can make to the exchange server, etc....
Please help!!!! I desperately need access to my updated calendar appointments.

Is there a fix for seeing bolded dates in navigation calendars for shared calendars (when appts have been made on certain dates) as was the case in Office 2003?
Looks like in 2011 someone posted on the forum that it was being looked into, but has there been a fix?  It's now two years later?
    Thank you!!

    Hi,
According to your description, it seems that the issue is related to Outlook 2003. This forum focus on Exchange 2013. Additionally, Outlook 2003 is no longer supported in Exchange 2013.
I suggest we can ask this question in Outlook forums for more professional answers:

  • I have added a work colleague to my family's members on iCloud so we can share the calendar for work appointments. However whe heakes purchases on iTunes I now get charged. How can I stop this happening?

ive added my work coleague to my iCloud account so we can share the calendar on our I-phones for work appointments. when he makes a purchase on iTunes i now get charged though so how do I stop this from happening? also can I just share only work appointments or do i have to share the whole calendar with him? Can I select what he sees?

    Hi Frantic503,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
When you are the Family Sharing organizer, purchases are billed to your account unless the family member making purchases has an iTunes Gift Card or iTunes credit on their account. The attached article has more information on how this process works.
    Family Sharing - Apple Support
What I may suggest in your situation would be to discontinue the Family Sharing and use iCloud calendar sharing. Using this method keeps your accounts separate but allows you to still share your calendar.

    Have a great day,

Previously I could view my appointments/reminders in my calendar.  This feature is no longer available.  I know I have a reminder in the year 2020.  Where can I view my appointments/reminders?

Reminders is a separate app from Calendars.
Appointments are in Calendar and remonders are in Reminder.

  • I updated my iPad to 7.0.6 but I find the new look very irritating.  In mail I can no longer swipe left on a message to erase it.  The font in calendar is so small I can't read my appointments.  I happen to like the yellow paper that was in notes.

You have to swipe from right to left to delete mail.
In the settings, accessibility you can make fonts bolder, that helps a bit.
THe yellow paper...sorry, no tweak for that unless you find a different notes app to use.

  • Synch Calendars IPHONE and OUTLOOK 2003: Appointments 1 hour difference

I have an IPHONE 3G, Software 2.1. I´m in Brazil, Sao Paulo, DST on. To solve the problem of 1 hour difference when I synch calendars with my outlook 2003, I had to change the Time Zone Management in IPHONE to another city, in Brasil (Recife) wich doesn´t use DST. This is OK, but do I have to make this procedure everytime I have a DST change? Does anybody know how to fix it? Version 2.2 will correct this ?

I just noticed the same thing!! i had given up on syncing my iPhone with my work computer running Outlook (only syncing to iCal at home), and then with version 2.2 i hoped that it might work better.
just synced to Outlook, and all my appointments that were on the iPhone were set to one hour earlier. Outlook time zone is set correctly, with automatic adjustment for DST. my iPhone is set to Date & Time automatic. haven't played around with resetting to manual.
i ended up adjusting all the events that were incorrect in Outlook - moving them up an hour, resynced, and now every thing is an hour late!!!
may have to give up on syncing Outlook again, and just sync with iCal.
