Can't restore my Toshiba nb255 to factory settings

I don't know much about computers and don't know how ti restore this thing. I tried holding the 0 key but nothing happened after like 3 minutes. I tried holding the f11 key and it just beeped. Any help would be appreciated!

Make sure your system is completely powered off. Press and hold down the '0' (zero) key, power on the system while continuing to hold down the '0' key, follow the directions on screen to recover your system to its 'Factory Default' state.
If the above will not work, try this:
1. Power on the computer while pressing the F8 key to enter Advanced Boot Options.
2. Under Advanced Boot Options, press the Enter key to select Repair Your Computer.
3. System Recovery Options will appear, click Next.
3. Log On as a local user to access the System Recovery Options.
4. Under Chose a Recovery Tool, select Toshiba Recovery Wizard
Still no joy? You will need to order a set of Toshiba recovery media:
Order Recovery Media
Good luck.

  • Can't restore my A665-S6070 to factory settings

I'm having major problems with a Toshiba satellite A665-S6070 laptop I just got. It  won't boot up because of some error in the registry.  I have tried the restore to factory settings. After almost completing the restore it goes to checking the system performance and just shuts completely down. I can't get past this problem. What should I do?
One other thing I'm not sure of.  I can't run my laptop from the charger unless the battery is removed.  Is that normal or do I have another problem?
    Thanks for any help.

No this is not normal and I suppose it could be causing problems restoring back to factory??
    Send it back!!

  • How can I restore an IdeaPad s10e to factory settings?

Hi all! I'm new to this forum. I've been searching far and wide for a solution to my problem and I can't find a suitable answer...
I have an IdeaPad s10e (which I love) but lately there have been some weird and bizarre things going on with XP (WPA-PSK protected networks not working, programs crashing, windows opening by themselves). Before someone jumps in and say "VIRUSES!" it's not that. I always take all the necessary precautions to avoid this. What happened is that I used some StarDock programs to dress XP up and it started doing all these crazy things, I uninstalled them and it's still acting weird.
Anyway, I wanted to restore my netbook back to factory state, but since I installed Ubuntu 9.04 and Windows 7 alongside XP my F11 restore option is missing. When I installed Ubuntu the option was still there, but when i installed the cursed Windows 7 RC the loader ate up that option. Now I restored XP's bootloader and deleted the Ubuntu partition but the F11 option is still missing.
So, what can I do?...I really want to restore my netbook back to normal. This time around Windows 7 won't be an option until I can buy the full version.
So PLEASE help me. And I also read some posts about cloning the drive before using the netbook and such, but none of that will help me. Lenovo's support isn't very helpful.
    Thanks in advance!

  • I can't restore my Toshiba Satellite anymore!

    Hi,
I have a Toshiba Satellite L450D-11X laptop, which I've been using for a few years now. I've reinstalled it several times over the years, by pressing 0 and the "on" button at the same time until the laptop beeps. However, I've been trying to reinstall the laptop recently, but nothing happens when I follow this method anymore; the Microsoft Windows 7 loading screen just appears and the computer boots up as normal. Do you know why this has started happening, and/or if there's any other way I can restore my laptop to its factory settings? Thanks!

See the section Restoring the pre-installed software from your created Recovery Discs, which is on p. 3-12 of the User's Manual (attached).
If you have failed to burn the discs, you can obtain them from Toshiba.

After restoring my iphone 4 to factory settings, then restoring from a recent backup, my phone will reboot but keeps coming back to the "new setup or restore from backup screen". How can I by-pass this screen to go directly to the sync apps/music screen?

Well, it's certainly behaving as though the phone that was backed up was synced to a different iTunes library.
I'm going to throw one more thing out there... Yes, you backed it up to this computer... Was the phone previously set up to sync with this computer? Or was it syncing with a different computer and you just backed it up to this one?
You may have to end up setting it up as a new device and rebuilding the phone by manually re-syncing your data, apps, music, etc. to the phone.
Trying to keep your library on a different drive can be tricky. If iTunes starts up and the library isn't available, it may end up generating a new library ID, meaning that you could easily find yourself in exactly the position you're in now...
I'm curious why there was a need to restore your phone to begin with... It may not have any bearing on this at all, but it could.

  • I don't have access to a computer and so,without physically  attaching my iPod touch to PC devices, can you manually restore an apple iPod touch, restrictions passcode online to iTunes and restore it to store purchased factory settings?

i don't have access to a computer and so,without physically  attaching my iPod touch to PC devices, can you manually restore an apple iPod touch, restrictions passcode online to iTunes and restore it to store purchased factory settings?

Sorry but no. The only way to restore an iPod to factory settings is through iTunes on a computer. You will need to get access to a computer somehow. If you can get to an Apple Store, they can probably help you.
    Regards.

You have no choice but to restore the iPod. You can restore from backup if y have one.

  • HT4847 I backed up my iphone 2 days ago via icloud. I now have restored my iphone to the factory settings and I need to retrieve the data that I backed up 2 days ago from icloud. My phone is only giving me an option to back up from my ipad icloud. Please

    Please Help
I had lost all the music on my iphone a while back and wanted to put it back on but my PC is a dinosaur and couldn't handle the sync without taking days. I decided to give it a go anyway. I tried to sync but kept getting an error message saying "waiting for changes to be applied". I looked up a solution to this problem and I saw that I should restore the phone to factory settings which I did. I then tried to sync again and it worked! .....the downside was that it took forever and I was without a phone for 36 hrs while I waited for sync to complete. It was at 662 0f 771 last night when I went to bed and when I awoke this morn, syncing had ceased and my phone was still erased of all data.
I am thinking now that everything was done and all I needed to do was turn off my phone and turn back on again but in a panic I selected an option on the phone to back up from icloud (as I knew I had done a backup 2 days ago). The only option available was "ipad backup" from over a week ago and stupidly I selected this option. It was successful but my contacts, mail, messages, photos and most importantly my notes and reminders are gone!!!
I have now restored the phone back to factory settings again.
    WHAT DO I DO NEXT??

I went back to iOS 7 and my backup file is restoring but when its done nothing is on my phone still and only takes 11-15 minutes to restore the backup instead of taking 25+ minutes like usual so I guess the backup is corrupted. How can I fix this?

  • For some reason , when i restore my iphone 4s to factory settings my headphones work when listening to music or youtube videos but when i backup my information onto it , it only comes out of one ear bud and i just got a new one from the apple store.

for some reason , when i restore my iphone 4s to factory settings my headphones work when listening to music or youtube videos but when i backup my information onto it , it only comes out of one ear bud and i just got a new one from the apple store. my old iphone 4s audio jack was messed up but i just got a new one with my warranty , can anyone help me please.

It doesn't matter what it is in your backup that's causing the problem because you can not selectively restore things from your backup. It's all or nothing.
Set you phone up as a new device and start over.
