Can't see LAN Apache servers.

With any and all computers on the router, I can see any Apache servers around the LAN, but when iPhone is on WI-FI it cannot see any of them. I get a "Server stopped responding" error. I can see the one server (port mapped in the router) from outside using Edge, but not "inside the loop".
Is this related to a fix for the early network flip-out at Duke University? Any known way to fix this? I'd like to test some web sites to see how they look on the phone during development.
Dave.

Well, I managed to get it working... I reset the router to wide open and it worked, and when I went back to password protection, it still worked... I don't remember now which way I set it, but my router has 2 passwords available... One that allows LAN access and one that only passes Internet through... I "may" have used the Internet only passwords when I first set up the phones. Not sure, but I'm going OK now.

  • Can't see SAP- Application Servers in Visual Studio 2003 Server Explorer

    Hi Experts
    I installed SAP .NET Connector 2 in Visual Studion 2003. I can add SAP Connector Proxy to the project but I can't see SAP->Application Servers in Server Explorer window in Visual Studio. So I can't add a new SAP application server. Refreshing Server Explorer doesn't help. Does anybody know any solution?
    Best regards,
    Krzysztof

  • Can't see Tree or Servers

    Converting from Netware to SLES. Built a server with SLES 11. I believe it is handing out DHCP addresses as my two test station have picked up IP address from the pool. Built eDirectory with a test user account on the server. My workstations do not see the new tree, context or server. The server and workstations are off our production network and in a test environment. They are the only three machines connected in this environment. Both workstation have IP addresses from the new server. They can ping each other, and the server. The server can also ping their address. They also can login into iManager for the server. I can see the objects in the tree via iManager from both stations.
    Uninstalled and re-installed the client on the workstation. Went into properties of the Novell client on the workstation and manually entered Preferred Server and Preferred Tree. Also entered Tree and Name Server. Used the name and IP address of the server. I have tried two different clients OES SP2 Novell Client 4.91 SP4 and Novell Client for Windows 4.91 SP5. Tried both of these option with zdfagent and without.

However when I run SLPTOOL findsrvs service. It doesn't list anything. I was expecting to see the server IP address.
    On the workstation I made adjustments to the Novell Client. I sent to the Service Location Tab and entered the server IP in the Directory agent list. Still no luck. The machine will not see the tree, but does see the context and server. If I enter the IP address of the server in the tree field, I can enter a valid eDirectory username and password, but I am then presented with a Windows login screen.
    I don't recall having to ever make a changes to the routes file on the Linux server. multicast should just work unless your routers are filtering it out (by default most Cisco routers do not enable multicast in the IOS).
    Again--how is your NetWare servers configured for SLP? You should configure your OES server the same way (there's a few exceptions).

  • Can't see LAN

    Client connects to PIX 501 but cannot see the LAN in Windows Explorer.
    Devices can be pinged by IP and hostname (netbios name)
    I can navagate to a server by typing in \\servername
    Why can I not get a resolution from Cisco techs?

  • Windows 7 Pro can't see Internet IP's after recovery from having WGA invalidate OEM license

    My Win 7 Pro receives an IP, can ping local IPs, can see right up to the internal router IP but cannot see the internet. Yes the network functions for other PCs.
    Important historical data:
    Some weeks ago my spare admin pc was rebooting after the usual monthly WAU when it failed to complete the last stages of installation of the updates (this would have been June 2014 updates.) Instead of booting normally to Windows, the system ran a bunch
    of registry change attempts and then booted to a black Windows desktop that contained the dreaded "You're a filthy pirate" message that Microsoft so gently slaps onto newly discovered Winhacks. The trouble is my Gigabyte/AMD powered barebones box
    was purchased, by ME, from TigerDirect.ca WITH an OEM Windows 7 Pro bundle. Now I should point out that I have suspected the Seagate Barracuda that was included with this machine as being a little off as the machine would occasionally freeze up or reboot itself.
    Instead of putting up with this HDD any longer, I ghosted the fractured build off of the Seagate and onto a new WD Caviar Black. On first boot the system seemed to work but the "pirate" message was still there. I then attempted to go through the
    recovery wizard and fix my license issue. The wizard failed and advised that the installation was corrupt and that I should reinstall. I reinstalled (not scratch installed) Windows and was rewarded by a successful install  minus the activation. I proceeded
    to phone the MS automated attendant and successfully activated my installation. I have a functioning network card but can only see LAN stuff. What the deuce? Gigabyte GA-M68MT-S2 with  AMD Phenom II X6 1045T.

    You can try this:
    From administrative account, go to start, type cmd, press Ctrl+Shift+Enter. Click Yes, if UACD prompots. Now, type the following command and restart the PC:
    netsh winsock reset
    After restart, check internet connectivity.

  • New iMac can't see Laserwriter Select connected to a PC on same LAN-- why?

    I've just returned to the Mac universe after a five year hiatus. When I discovered how well Macs play with PCs and Unix these days, I decided to come back.
    There's just one issue: I can't print to my Laserwriter Select 360, connected by parallel port to a Windows XP Pro PC on my LAN. My new iMac doesn't see the printer at all. The imac does see the PC's workgroup in the Network Neighborhood, and I can mount the shared volumes of that PC on the mac with no problem, so the Mac can talk to the PC for filesharing, anyway. (smb:// address used)
    Applecare has no clue why I can't see the printer. They told me to turn on Windows Sharing and Print Sharing, but that had no effect. The Windows machines on my LAN can all see and print to the shared Laserwriter Select 360, no problem. They're all running Windows XP pro, latest patches.
    The iMac of course has the latest Tiger. All machines are on my internal subnet 192.168.0.*.
    I just got a new cartridge for the Laserwriter, and there's no reason to retire it-- that printer works great. I just can't believe/accept that the iMac can't be made to print to an Apple printer! (Also, I've heard that appletalk->ethernet bridge solutions are flaky so that's not an ideal route).
    Any/all ideas welcome.

    Here's the result. The PC is on 192.168.0.2, and the iMac was assigned .18 by DHCP.
    I just tried adding a lexmark printer to the PC (over USB) to see if there might be some difference. The other windows box on the lan sees the LexMark same as it sees the Laserwriter (and both show up in the output of smbclient below). Needless to say, the iMac doesn't see the LexMark either.
    Thanks for your help with this one...

  • Studio 2 can create/see remote servers but not in remote deployment

    In Sun Studio Creator 2, I can create and see my remote servers but when I try to remote deploy my web app from "Deploy to Remote Server", my remote servers do not show up on the list (Only Add Remote Server is there).
    On my laptop with the same version of SSC, this is not a problem (I can see the remote servers in the deployment list) so I suspect that the problem is just on my desktop machine. The remote server settings are the same on both machines.
    I have tried reinstalling SSC with no success. If anyone has run into this or have any suggestions on how to fix this, I would appreciate it.

  • Can't see Computers/Servers in Finder on local ip network

    I'm trying to share some files between by Powerbook and iMac.
    Both are running Tiger.
    Both are configured with IP on the same subnet and can ping each other
    Both are using wifi as their network interface
    Both can get to the internet, iMac, iDisk fine...
    I turned on sharing on both systems.
    When I go to finder and browse under Network i can only see my local machine.
    This is true on both systems..
    Any ideas about how to fix or troubleshoot?

    Rebooting usually makes the machines show up in rhe network browser.
    The reliable way, of course, is to connect using Finder's "Connect to server" window. The address you enter looks like this:
    afp://Clamshell.local
    Once you type it in you can save them in a list. It's very professional. You can also remount servers using the "Recent Items" list in the Apple menu, but if the server is not online it makes your Finder spin wheels for a few minutes.
    Agonizing.

  • ULN Registration website - can't see all servers

    When I login in to https://linux.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=101:3, I only see one server. How can I see all of the rest of our company's servers that were registered by a different admin? Who maintains that website? Is there someone that I can call? As far as I know we are using the same CSI#.

    I usually recommend using a common corporate account for this very reason.
    You will need to set up a dummy mail account to receive and distribute any errata alerts coming from ULN though. Use that email address and your CSI to register a machine / create an account.
    It's probably best to open an Oracle service request for this if you can. That way the ULN folk can monitor this for you.

  • Can't see shared music, but can see servers!

    Hiyas
    I had to reinstall OSX last week. Everything went fine, but now, on iTunes, I can't see my music that is on another Mac anymore. Inside iTunes, I can see the other Mac and I can connect to it without an error. But once connected, iTunes doesn't let me browse any music.
    I know that music exists there since I can easily connect to the iTunes server running there with my Soundbridges or even with Windows, just not with the Mac. I don't have a Firewall set and the problem appears both with WiFi and with wired ethernet. I can see the server in iTunes, I can connect to it, but thats it. I don't see any music there.
    Does anyone know what's going on here?
    Best regards, Fuggs

    Both to varying degrees.
    The idea is that iTunes Match puts a list of all your content on your device, but not the content itself. As you choose to play from the list it is then downloaded as required.
    You can see which content is actually on your device by turning the ’Show all content' button I mentioned before to off.

  • Can't see buddy

    I'm just starting ichat. Got signed up, can log in etc, picture and sound work fine. At this stage only have 1 buddy. He can invite me to video chat - it rings, I accept everything works fine. But, when I log in, my buddy list is grayed out, and I cannot invite him to chat. I created him in buddy list, but I still can't see him and cannot initiate a chat. I told him my log in info (he is in a different country) he logs in as me and can see the buddy list, but I can't. The only difference seems to be that I am using Airport Extreme router and he is just on internet direct via modem. Could the router be the problem. When I first tried to get on, I had to enable appletalk to make iChat work, so that is done.

    Interesting one.
    At iChat 4 in Leopard (10.5.x) or higher a Buddy (Or you ) can set them selves to Invisible.
    Sending your details to your Buddy should eliminate this if he has his Own regular Buddy List Open as he would still s"see" himself as Off Line.
    Next is you may have added him as An AIM Name when he is @mac. com or @me.com as you have to choose when adding a Buddy in iChat 4
    Now as above as he can "See" himself in your Buddy List this does not seem to apply.
    Nor would if you had Blocked him in iChat > Preferences > Accounts > Block Specific People > Block list or the two Allow Buddy List Only or Allow Specific People as these setting are passed to the AIM servers and those Buddies are Flagged so that they work when you log in somewhere else (as passing your details over has done).
    Now iChat does login to the aIM servers on port 5190 using the TCP Protocol by default.
    iChat also uses this port on the UDP Protocol, mainly for File Sharing and Group chats but also for Some Buddy List feedback.
    Changing the port to get around some routing devices that don't like using the port Twice will only work if port 5190 is Open on the UDP Protocol if its is open and the PRotocol has to be Specified in any Routing device.
    Defcom is right that the Mac Firewall is the logical place to Start making sure iChat is allowed through any and all firewall settings.
    It is in System Preferences > Security > Firewall
    Allow All and Allow Specific apps with iChat added to the list are the ones that work. (iChat is NOT an Essential App).
    (In the Advanced Button, Stealth should not be On as it interferes with A/V chats)
    In the Airport Extreme (Accessed with Airport Utility in Applications/Utilities) the Internet pane has a NAT Tab.
    In here is Port Mapping Protocol.
    This should be ON/Enabled.
    I would ask if your Modem routes ?
    If so is the Extreme set to Bridge (Off) Mode in the Internet Pane so that the Extreme is just a Wireless access Point to the LAN created by the Modem ?

  • WIFI on 2504. Users can't see any computers in "My network places".

    Hello. I'm using 2504 CISCO controller and three AIR-CAP2602I-R-K9 access points. So I organized simple WIFI network with AES encryption. Users can easily connect to the proper SSID and after put a login have Internet access.But they just can't see any computers or shared folders on servers in "My Network Places". If I connect any workstation by wire I haven't this problem. So the issue appears only during WIFI access to the LAN.
    Please advise, what can I change in 2504 settings.
    Thank you.

    The WLC doesn't block this unless P2P blocking is enabled. The easiest way to test is to create an open SSID and map that WLAN to an existing wired Vlan. Doesn't tweak the WLAN except for making it wide open. Them associate your wireless client to that new SSID and see if they see the resources.
    That is the configuration I was telling you about that you had a screen shot of. As long as that is disabled, you should be able to see the resources.

  • Do Apache servers not like DocumentBuilderFactory ?

    An exciting problem for all java geeks !

    }Here is the listing of the DBFBugApt.html file displaying this applet:

    As you can see, it works fine displaying "Hello World !" as expected...
    The same DBFBugApt.class and DBFBugApt.html files have then been installed here: http://www.freewebs.com/softquipeut/DBFBugApt.html
    And surprise: this alternate deployment fail to initialise ! The applet throws a NoClassDefFoundError error during its initialisation on the following statement: DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();Find hereafter the java console log:

    The question I'm trying to answer for one week without getting any logical explanation is WHY ???
    The most remarkable difference between this two hosting web servers is the following:
    My personal web site http://www.culand.ch is hosted on a Cobalt web server while www.freewebs.com sites are hosted on Apache servers.
    For different reasons, I suspect all Apache web servers not to support hosting applets performing such DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance() statement.
    Or said differently: JRE 1.5.0_01 implementation of the DocumentBuilderFactory class does not support to be invoked by an applet hosted on an Apache server !!!
    Is that a bug of the JRE 1.5.0_01 or a misconfiguration of the www.freewebs.com Apache web servers ?
    If you have an available Apache Web server, you can help me to decide this by installing this applet on your server and letting me know if it works or not.
    DBFBugApt.class, DBFBugApt.html (and the source file DBGBugApt.java too) can all be downloaded from each of the two given web servers.
    If this is confirmed to be related to the Apache web servers only, and no misconfiguration of the web server can be found, I will report this as a JRE bug to Sun !
    Thank you to help me solving this !
    And I'm offering 10 Dollar Duke reward for a solution because I'm tired of this *@!$%! problem...
    Thanks again to all of you who will answer to this thread.
    P.F. Culand

    The issue is not with the type of server, but with
    the specific configuration of the freewebs server.
    The DBF tries to load a file
    "META-INF/services/javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFa
    ctory" from the classpath, which, in this case, is
    the directory on your server. The freewebs server
    does not return a HTTP 404 error for a non-existing
    resource like a proper little webserver, but instead
    returns a HTTP 200 and a (human-readable) error page,
    which the DBF tries to parse, resulting in the error.
    Note that this is NOT Apache default behaviour, any
    server can be configured thus, although it violates
    the HTTP protocol.
    2 possible solutions:
    - configure the freewebs server properly
    - pack your app into a jar fileSince the first solution is not in my hand I opted for the 2nd one:
    It seems not to work, but I may have done something wrong in packing my applet into a jar file... (not very experimented in that).
    So here is what I did:
    I made the jar file by executing the following batch file:
    set JavaDir=C:\Program Files\Java\Jdk1.5.0_01\
    set ClassPath=.;%JavaDir%lib\classes.zip;%JavaDir%lib\
    "%JavaDir%bin\jar" cvf DBFBugApt.jar DBFBugApt.classI modified the DBFBugApt.html file by adding an archive attribute to the applet tag that way:
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>DocumentBuilderFactory bug ?</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <p>DBFBugApt says: (may fail when hosted on some servers !)</p>
    <p>
    <applet archive="DBFBugApt.jar" code="DBFBugApt.class" width="250" height="100">
    </applet>
    </p>
    </body>
    </html>I deleted the old DBFBugApt.class
    I first tried to display the new html file from my local directory with the MSIE browser... It worked.
    I uploaded the new jar and html files on the working Cobalt server on my personal web site: http://www.culand.ch/dev/DBFBugApt.html and deleted the old class file. Then I tested it... It worked.
    Finally I uploaded them the same way on the freewebs server (http://www.freewebs.com/softquipeut/DBFBugApt.html) and deleted the old class file too. Then I tested it... DOES NOT WORK !
    The loading of the applet is much slower than before and in hangs notinited like before... The console log is the following: (exactly the same than before)

  • Bonjour services disappear - can't see speakers in iTunes

    Hi,
    I guess this might not be the correct forum but I can't seem to find anywhere else it may sit. I am having issues with certain bonjour services not running on my iMac, this is mainly affecting speakers being shown in iTunes. I don't have a problem with my mac book on the same network, I wonder if anyone can advise what I can do.
    Thanks

    I run a studio where there are 3 Macs, each one running a different version of Mac OS X (Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard) and only my Mac (Snow Leopard) can see printers, iTunes servers or speakers connected over Bonjour (both the printer and speakers are connected with an Airport Express)...
