Can't set Shade GOURAUD on imported Obj models

Hi,
I'm importing an obj model, but I can't get the shading model to be Gouraud. It's always flat.
Here is a short code snippet where I try to make the model use Gouraud shading:
ObjectFile objectFile = new ObjectFile();
Scene scene = null;
try {
scene = objectFile.load(filepath);
(...) // catch block
Hashtable allReferences = scene.getNamedObjects();
Enumeration enumeration = allReferences.keys();
while (enumeration.hasMoreElements()) {
String key = (String) enumeration.nextElement();
Appearance appearance = new Appearance();
ColoringAttributes coloringAttributes = new ColoringAttributes();
coloringAttributes.setShadeModel(ColoringAttributes.SHADE_GOURAUD);
appearance.setColoringAttributes(coloringAttributes);
Material material = new Material();
material.setDiffuseColor(1f, 1f, 1f);
appearance.setMaterial(material);
if (allReferences.get(key) instanceof Shape3D) {
Shape3D ref = (Shape3D) allReferences.get(key);
ref.setCapability(Shape3D.ALLOW_APPEARANCE_OVERRIDE_WRITE);
ref.setCapability(Shape3D.ALLOW_APPEARANCE_WRITE);
ref.setCapability(Shape3D.ALLOW_APPEARANCE_READ);
ref.setCapability(Shape3D.ALLOW_APPEARANCE_OVERRIDE_READ);
ref.setAppearance(appearance);
Thanks in advance

I think this is the culprit:
3) check the key of the imported file with a software instrument, and switch the project's key accordingly
If the "follow tempo & pitch" box is checked, this might change the sample's pitch and throw GB off.
Try to determine the sample's key before you import it, set the GB project's key accordingly, and then import the sample. That should assign it the correct key!

    Administration - Marketing -> Import, you can set a parameter value "Import mode" for what to do in case of duplication as "update existing records", "Import new records". The final report of this import is presented as a text file that can be viewed in Business Administration - Marketing -> Import -> Exceptions. If you're referring to how Aperture stores the originals in a managed library then the answer is you can't change it.
    If having the originals stored in a specific file structure is important to you you will need to switch to a referenced original setup.

  • How can I set FCPX to import my footage as Pro Res 422?

    I am having difficulty getting nice clean chroma keys due to the fact that all my footage is being imported with the H.264 codecs.  I have the project properties to render as Pro Res 422, but that as I understand it, will only change my footage for the final output.
    I tried to find a place in the Properties->Import to see if I can tell FCPX 10.0.8 to import the footage at a higher quality so that the keyeing effect creates better masks.  Where can I set FCPX to import my footage as ProRes 422?
    I would greatly appreciate anyone's input as I have been trying to figure it out and am at a complete loss at this point.
    Thank you so much in advance for your help!
    ~Heather
    PS:
    Here is where it says my footage is H.264 - where can I change this?

    I do always check the optimize media box, but still have a hard time smoothing out jagged edges on greenscreen footage.  I assumed it was because the keyer was being applied to H.264 footage instead of ProRes 422 footage.
    Which codecs is the effect being applied to if I drag it onto the clip in my timeline?  I am doing playback with optimized media if that makes a difference. It is quite possible I confused myself.
    Thanks for your help, Tom!

  • E-mail synch, read/unread, how can I set this up?

    I'd like to refer to an older question I found which hadn't been answered properly.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3557308?start=0&tstart=0
    Quite simply, the question is;
    I have my work e-mail, my Hotmail and my Gmail all set-up on my iPhone 4S and my iPad 1st gen.
    When I read an e-mail on the computer via browser or outlook, I would like for this e-mail to appear as READ on my devices as well.
    Vise versa for when I read it on the iPad/Phone and I want that e-mail to show as read on Outlook and browser.
    Because this doesn't happen automatically, the Mail icon on my home screen is constantly showing over 1K e-mails, when in reality I may have like 10 on each e-mail account.
    How can I set this up?
    Is it possible for my to set this up for deleting e-mails also?
    I know I can do that on Gmail, delete from server blah blah, but how about when I delete e-mail from Outlook...I want them to be off my phone also.
    It's a business e-mail, and I get like over 50 read/received notifications that spam my inbox.
    Thank you for taking the time to read and for any advice you may have.

    Please go to
    1.Setting
    2. mail,contacts and calenders
    3. add accounts
    4. insert your email account and password
    5. Autometically imports your mails if you open mail folder on the desktop..
    That is it.

  • How can I set up a back up hard drive on airport extreme

    I have an external harddrive that was plugged into my airport extreme. Apple seemed to eliminate my abilty to back up wirelessly in one of the updates. How can I set this up again? Does anyone know a way around this?
    Thanks,

    Ah, I remember those links now.  I was thinking something along the lines of:
    Never consider any computer a data storage device, rather a data creation ,sending, and manipulation device. Anyone who thinks data is safe on any computer, even copied upon multiple partitions is making a mistake.
    Never backup your data exclusively upon magnetic hard drives or flash storage, nor consider same since magnetic storage degrades over time even under ideal conditions.
    Store important data on multiple servers on multiple continents.
    Burn important data onto multiple copies of archival DVDs and store same in cool dark fireproof safes, multiple places.
    Don’t burn data onto junk DVD’s purchased from consumer level electronics stores. These are not archival long life DVD’s nor reliable, nor trustworthy. Archival DVD blanks such as Taiyo Yuden, rated for 100+ years are what the pros use, these are made by JVC and are professional grade DVD blanks.
    Most people have never heard of archival DVDs, however their cost is only 30% more than junk-level DVD blanks which are only rated for 5-10 years. Also the reject rate on the inferior DVD is around 15%, the cost is almost identical between the WORST DVD blanks and the BEST DVD blanks.
    Most importantly know that 2 copies of your data is 1, and 1 is none, and 1000 copies stored in one place or building, is also the same as none due to possible fire.
    Always consider and expect your computer’s hard drive to completely crash anytime, at all times, and you should keep a cloned and updated hard drive handy at all times to return to immediate productivity and utterly avoid programs and parameter reinstallation.  Nothing is quicker than taking out a dead HD and tossing in a new updated cloned HD for getting back to 100% in under 20 mins!
    Decentralized Omnipresent Data (D.O.D.)
    (something I coined an age ago)
    Backing up data to:
    Multiple HD in multiple locations
    On multiple servers on multiple continents, private and public websites, anonymous data farms. (very easy actually)
    Burned onto archival optical and magnetic storage
    Have unclassified data possessed by multiple people in multiples places.
    When your data becomes both everywhere and nowhere, accessible to all, destructible by none, cannot be collected together or permanently retrieved under any circumstances, you have Decentralized Omnipresent Data (D.O.D.) protection rivaling that of large governments.
