Can't update quicktime on windows xp. I have 7.3.1 and when I try to install 7.7.3 it says I have a newer version already installed??? Even uninstalling the older one, it still says the same thing. I haven't been able to update it since 2007.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATION" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up").
In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC. Now try another QuickTime install. Does it go through properly this time?

Error 1 or -1
This may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues, and restore your device on a different known-good computer. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
The" may need service' meand there is a hardware problem. In that case make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

I have never been able to update CC apps - U44M1I210 error

I recieve the "Unable to extract the downloaded files. Press Retry to download again. (U44M1I210)" Error code every single time I try to update my CC apps.
This happens on my Desktop PC, and my Laptop PC, with ANY app. I'm using windows 7 on both machines.
I've ignored it for a few months now, but seriously, I should be able to update my apps as I'm paying for the service.
I have tried reinstalling CC twice, no luck.

In the end I fixed the problem simply by pressing 'retry' and redownloading 3-4 times. Eventually it just worked. Very odd.
It's almost like the files were getting corrupted due to my internet but I've never had this problem with any other downloads before.

You can't connect an iPhone or iPad to a Mac via Bluetooth, except for Internet tethering.
You're not doing anything wrong - it just isn't a feature of iOS devices.
What were you hoping a Bluetooth connection would allow you to do?

The only "content aware" feature in CS5 is the fill, so you are not missing anything with the updates because nothing more is there. And I honestly don't know what you mean by "Adobe watermarks" there is no such thing, but there is a series of scripts for such stuff.

Cannot and have never been able to connect to a testing server

I am using Dreamweaver and am trying to set up a testing site using IIS. I can’t get it set up. It says I don’t have administrative privileges. I am the administrator. This is a home computer and I am the only user of the computer. I am just a novice.
I posted my problem in an Adobe forum. I was told to enter a command in the administrator command because I am not an administrator (this made me scratch my head???). The following is what I was told to enter:
icacls %systemdrive%\inetpub /grant %userdomain%\%username%:(OI)(CI)(F) /grant %userdomain%\%username%:F
it does not work and says there is no command for” icasis” I am not sure what I need to enter, however. For system drive I put “C”. For user name I put the name of my computer. For user name I put my user name.
This is what I ended up with and this is what I put in the administrators command prompt:
icacls %C%\inetpub /grant %Joe-II%\%jtb%:(OI)(CI)(F) /grant %Joe-II%\%jtb%:F
I am sure this is wrong.
In addition, in properties of inetpub wwwroot it says I have read and write for both administrator and iis_iusrs privilages (I set it up following a DW tutorial).
So why can’t I set up testing server on iis? This problem has gone on for years. I have newer versions of Adobe and operating systems and I have never been able to set up a testing server. By the way, this is windows 8 professional.
Any help would be much appreciated. I would even pay someone to solve my problem but don’t know where I would go to do this.

I sympathize, as I had a lot of trouble trying to set up a localhost server on a Win8 computer. Experienced many false starts. Finally got it working to the extent I could actually work on a WP site locally, but the set up is still weird in that when I uploaded all the new files to make them live, nothing updated. Ended up making all the changes again to the live site.

Welcome to the forums.
You can try one of the two options below to work around your issue.
Drag and drop the files from the desired music folder to the BlackBerry Music folder using the computer.
Open the desired music folder on the computer
Go into Computer or My Computer and open the BlackBerry network drive
Open the Music folder
Drag the desired music files from the computer music folder to the BlackBerry Music folder
Try a different Windows profile.
Go into the Control Panel and create a new user account
Put some music files in a folder that is accessible by all profiles or transfer them to the BlackBerry device
Log out of the current profile and log into the new profile
Transfer music into iTunes or Windows Media Player
Launch BlackBerry Link and go through the setup configuring the music source of your choice
Click on the Computer name in the bottom left corner of Link
Select Music on the left side
Drag and drop the desired music files from the list to the BlackBerry name in the bottom left corner of Link
If neither of these options work for you then you will want to contact your mobile service provider and ask that this issues be escalate to BlackBerry support for investigation.

Have never been able to print

I have never been able to print through Bonjour to a shared printer connected to a 10.4 machine. Whenever I try, the print system crashes and the printer needs to be restarted, and then I must restart the queue on the server. The only way to actually print is to move the file to the server and print from there. It even crashes if I open the folder AFP and try to print while the file is open from the remote machine.
Is this normal? It worked perfectly under 10.4 and is totally broken under 10.5.

Definitely not normal. It would help to know the printer model.
Have you tried any of the other protocols to print from Mac to Mac? IP > LPD or IPP, Samba (Windows Printing), for troubleshooting?

Sounds like some needed System Fonts wre replaced by bad ones. Y also have Font Book in Applications for validating fonts & checking for duplicates.
Required Fonts from 10.3, much the same in 10.4...

then intall the Fonts what you need from your Install Disk.
Or do a relatively painless Archive & Install, which gives you a new/old OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space and no Disk corruption, and is relatively quick & painless...
