Can the MacBook Air work with any other type of internet connection beside wifi?
Can the MacBook Air work with any other kind of internet connection besides Wifi?
Who? ITS VERY important when doing a restore, in fact you DO NOT want to do a wifi restore
The pros all have that Ethernet adapter,... that should tell you something. An Ethernet restore via that "thing" makes restoring the OSX about 8X faster.
Its called a Gigabit Ethernet adapter for a reason.
"who the heck" is anyone working with their Macbook Air at home and want a MUCH FASTER download / internet connection.
*Stockbrokers who pack their Macbook Air, arrive at work and plug that "hardwired" dongle to their Air........ because even seconds in the stock market can make the difference between losing a million $$, or making a million $$
So now you know WHY,.....before you didnt.

Does the macbook air work with bell wireless internet?
im thinking about buying a macbook air but i need to know if it works with bell wireless internet
My understanding is that the BWI uses an 802.11b wireless standard that is perfectly compatible with the built-in reception that the MBA has.
Is there anything that would lead you to doubt the compatibility? -
I'm running Lion on a Late 2008 MacBook Air.
With no other applications running, I can no longer Check for Software Updates. It gets about half way through the checking process and then freezes.
The MBA passes Disk Utility. Thoughts?
Thanks
Jim TaylorHow long do you leave it?
Mine can sometimes sit for quite a while (maybe 10 minutes??) before it finally finishes.
You could look at the relevant logs via Console (Utilities folder) to see if Software Update is complaining about anything.

After some advice, I am new to Apple and looking to purchase either the MacBook Air 13inch with 256GB and 8GB mem or the MacBook Pro 13inch with retina 256Gb and 8GB mem. I am an assistant principal in a primary school and also studying my masters at university. I don't play computer games and I don't watch movies. I do store photos and videos of my kids and music on iTunes. I also like browsing the net with numerous windows open, check email etc. I am really wanting long battery life as I do a lot of my work on the couch - not close to a PowerPoint. Would the air do the trick or will it soon be outdated as Apple move towards retina display? Both air and pro seem very thin - almost the same? And not much difference in weight either so both very portable which is also a necessary requirement. Just can't help dreaming about that 12 hour claimed battery life. Any helpful advice/opinions, very much appreciated. Thanks
It's not likely that you'll get 12 hours in reql life. Those benchmarks are set under very strict controlled conditions. Kind of like mileage per gallon claims on cars. If 16GB of ram is an option at all I'd highly recommend you get that. As far as storage 256GB isn't alot, consider storing some things on an external thunderbolt real

Will an 11-inch MacBook Air work with Snow Leopard?
Will an 11-inch MacBook Air work with Snow Leopard? If yes, can you downgrade from Yosemite to Snow Leopard?
1. For actually booting Snow Leopard, it depends on the model; click here and see what the mimimum OS for yours is.
2. All of them can run Mac OS X 10.6 Server inside a product such as VirtualBox or Parallels Desktop.

Does the Macbook retina work with the Wacom Cintiq tablets?
I have the original Wacom Cintiq 21". Will the MacBook Retina work with this?
Yes - I have a 2012 MacBook Air and it works with a dual-link dvi adaptor only otherwise you'll end up with a lower resolution.
Took a while to work out, but works very well. It's also expensive
The Hdmi only supports 1080 and not the full 2560 x 1080. The other cables are useless.
It also works on windows 8 using boot amp
Hope this helps

Can the macbook air do everything my pro does?
can the macbook air do everything my pro does?
Yes but slower, depending on how old your pro is. The cpu in the air models are slower then what is in the pro models. Slower cpu mean that everything works slower.

I just bought the new MacBook Air a few days ago and my Internet connection is so slow. My iPhone's connection works fine when connected to the wifi but the MacBook connects for a few seconds then drops completely. What do I do? I tried connecting it to my phone's hotspot and it works perfectly. I'm a new Mac user so I have no idea what to do. I have Comcast xfinity cable and Internet. Thanks for the help.
Your warranty includes 90 days of phone support. Contact Apple.

For WRT1900AC, how do the 4 antennae work with each other?
I am curious how the 4 antennae work with each other. Does a wifi client need to communicate with all 4 antennae? Or just 1 (or 2)? I am curious, as I would like to move 1 or 2 of the antennae via proper cable to expand the coverage area.

spec on that cable is 10.8dB per 100 feet. I would think that the router would still have a problem with that. Not sure how long the OP was going to make it but with the beaming technology i would think it would throw it off balance.
My maximum is 60ft when using LMR400 for standard wireless applications. I have done that many many times.
These days they typically integrate the higher gain antenna right into the bridge housing or mount the outdoor bridge right next to the antenna.
Please remember to Kudo those that help you.

Question about Java RMI/JNDI/IIOP and Linux IPCHAINS.
IPChains only recognises, per se, three protocols -TCP -UDIP -ICMP as I grasp things. Can one mention IIOP directly in an IPCHAINS firewall, or is one forced to allow one particular IP, by protocol and Port number? What is recommended for RMI and JND
