Can we restrict Key Figures in "Distribute with reference data"?

Hi,
I'm using "distribute with reference data" function & I wanted to distribute only 1 Keyfigure & the 2nd keyfigure shouldn't be distributed but remain same for each record.
So, I restricted function with only 1st keyfigure & when I look at the distributed data, function distributed correctly but 2nd keyfigure was blank.
Let's say I've following data.
MATERIAL SGRP QTY PRC
=====================
MATERIL1 0000 100 23
where SGRP is "Sales Group" & QTY is "Quantity" & PRC is "price"
I am interested in distributing only Quantity but not the price.
After distribution, this is what I can see...
MATERIAL SGRP QTY PRC
=====================
MATERIL1 SGP1 050 000
MATERIL1 SGP2 050 000
MATERIL1 0000 000 23
But, I'm expecting the following...
MATERIAL SGRP QTY PRC
=====================
MATERIL1 SGP1 050 23
MATERIL1 SGP2 050 23
Appreciate any ideas.

Hi Mary,
Thank you very much for your reply.
after the distribution funciton, let's say, i've following data.
MATERIAL SGRP QTY PRC
=====================
MATERIL1 SGP1 050 000
MATERIL1 SGP2 050 000
MATERIL1 0000 000 23
I created 1 more distribution by keys funciton & included this in a planning sequence along with 1st distribution function.
But, it's not helping my needs. I tried with all 3 functions, "Distribute by Key", "Distribute according to keys" & "Distribute by keys from sender to reciever".
As Sales Group is different after the 1st distribution funciton, qunatity records are not falling in the same set of data as price records for the 2nd "distribution by keys" funciton.
if i don't include Sales Group in "fields to be changed" of the above 3 "distribution by key" functions,
function is taking 2 sets of data with set1 contains 1st 2 records(records with quantity & "with SGRP1 & SGRP2") & set2 contains 3rd record (record with price & with SGRP 0000).
As they are not falling within same set of data, above 3 functions are not working for me.
If i include Sales Group in the "fields to be changed", I'll have to specify a value which incase is dynamic & varies for each material.
hope am clear & appreciate if you have any other ideas.

  • How can we restrict Key Figure in the BI System

    Hi All,
Can any one explain How can i restrict key figures in BI system.
So when i create a query a specific user  can only execute it if a specific key figure is a part of query otherwise he is not allowed to execute a query.
    For Example:
A user TEST123 is allowed to execute a query with keyfigure Quantity he is not allowed to execute the query if any other key figure is present in the query
    Regards,
    Deepak

    Hay Diogo,
    Bravo...
Your suggetions always work for me. The scenario was that
A user TEST_PLD08 should only allow to see output for the querys which consist of the keyfigure PLDQUACMP and not for other keyfigures while other user TEST_PLD07 is allowed to see the output for  querys consist of any of the keyfiguers.
so I have assign a authorization profile  PLD_TEST07 to the user TEST_PLD08 with KeyFigures authorization as mentioned below and it is working fine
    I     EQ     :
    I     EQ     PLDQUACMP
You can forward me more scenarios like this if you can think of more it will be really helpful for me

  • BPS - Distribute with Reference data sender 2 reciever functionality

    Hi All,
I'm looking for some documentation on this planning function(Distribute with reference data / from sender to reciever). When I run this function I have problems finding the Reference data, although I have defined the refernce data correctly and am using the # for the characteristics.
Is it possible to override a characteristic while executing this function.? for example you are distributing values form region level to line of business level, can you  change the allocation flag(another characterstc) while executing this.?
Any documents with some Examples and guidelines of setting up Reference data will be very useful.
    Thanking everybody in advance.,
    Sudz.

    Hello Sudz,
I know this can be tricky. First, you should check if reference data is read at all (use BPS_STAT0 transaction).
If no, check the configuration of planning package and parameter group. The selection criteria for the reference data are based on the planning package merged with the criteria for reference data defined in the parameter group (if there are criteria for the same characteristic in both places, the parameter group wins).
If yes, you need to go into more detail. The source data (to be distributed) is matched with the reference data based on all characteristics that are NOT in the fields to be changed. So maybe you have not defined the right fields to be changed (use execute with trace to see the internal packaging/matching).
You can change several characteristics with the function. However, this will increase the number of target combinations. If you want to turn off a flag, just use a repost function and link them via a sequence.

  • Distribute with Reference Data

    Hi Folks,
I have trouble getting the distribution function to work. I want to distribute the plan data to a more granular level (from Product Family to Product Platform) using the previous year's actual sales data.
I have setup a plng. function of type distribute with reference data. I have a multi planning area with plan and actual areas. When I run the function, it says "No reference data exists". When I run it with the trace, it shows me a line with the fiscal year (say 2008, for the next plng  year).. When I click on details button, it brings a screen with no ref. data. I suspect since the Fiscal Year is already selected on the first screen, it could not populate any reference data since the fiscal year can not have two values at the same time.
In the parameter group, I have the right selection for actual data (previous fiscal year etc.) I'm fairly confident that the selections I made in parameter group for the ref. data should bring some actual values.
Any ideas where I might be doing missing? How do the selections in the package may affect the situation? Any help would be appreciated,
    Thanks,

Do you have the target fiscal year and other characteristics in the level / package. This is a must.

  • Very Very Urgent Issue: Restricted Key Figure does not return any data

    Hi all,
Please help me solving this urgent issue.
created customer exit variable on characterstics version and also
other customer exit variable on Value type.
I coded that in variable exit. Problem is when I include these in
restrickted keyfigure My query does not return me any data.
But if I remove from restrickted key firgure and put it as normal
charaterstics I see the variable is getting populated.
Also in RSRT the SQl generated when these are included in RKF is not
    correct.
I debugged and know they are getting populated. As when included in RKF
I can also see the values of customer exit variables from information
    tab.
I also know that there is data in cube for those restrictions.
I posted one OSS Notes regarding this urgent issue. But got no reply from SAP.

  • Restricted key figure

    HI,
can any body explain me what is the difference between Restricted key Figure and the filter option in BEX reporting.

    Hi Ali,
If you want restrict particuler key figure based on characteristic value, that you have to go for restricted key figure.
For example: You have calender year month data from 2005 to 2006.An dyou have also have sales data for the period.
If you want see the say some feb 2005 to may 2006.
than you can use restricted key figure to see the values.
where as Filter will show the values which you have filtered irrespective of key figure (only characteristic value).
just go throw the below description.
    Hi,
    Restricted key figure:
    Use
You can restrict the key figures of an InfoProvider for reuse by selecting one or more characteristics. The key figures that are restricted by one or more characteristic selections can be basic key figures, calculated key figures, or key figures that are already restricted.
    Procedure
Defining a new restricted key figure
    1. In the InfoProvider screen area, select the Key Figures entry and choose New Restricted Key Figure from the context menu (secondary mouse button).
If a restricted key figure has already been defined for this InfoProvider, you can also select the Restricted Key Figures entry and then choose New Restricted Key Figure from the context menu.
The entry New Restricted Key Figure is inserted and the properties for the restricted key figure are displayed in the Properties screen area.
    2. Select the New Restricted Key Figure entry and choose Edit from the context menu (secondary mouse button.
The Change Restricted Key Figure dialog box appears.
You can also call the Change Restricted Key Figure dialog box from the Properties screen area by choosing the Edit pushbutton.
    Calculated key figure:
    Use
In the Query Designer, you use formulas to recalculate the key figures in an InfoProvider so that you can reuse them. Calculated key figures consist of formula definitions containing basic key figures, restricted key figures or precalculated key figures.
    Procedure
Defining a New Calculated Key Figure
    1. In the InfoProvider screen area, select the Key Figures entry and from the context menu (secondary mouse button click), choose New Calculated Key Figure.
If a calculated key figure has already been defined for this InfoProvider, you can select the Calculated Key Figures entry and, from the context menu, choose New Calculated Key Figure.
The system adds the New Calculated Key Figure entry. The properties for the calculated key figure are displayed in the Properties screen area.
    2. Select the New Calculated Key Figure entry and, from the context menu (secondary mouse button), choose Edit.
The Calculated Key Figure dialog box appears.
You can also call the Change Calculated Key Figure dialog box from the Properties screen area by choosing the Edit pushbutton.
    Formula:
    Use
You can recalculate the key figures in a structure using a formula. You can include basic key figures, restricted key figures, and calculated key figures in the formula definition.
    Procedure
    Defining a Formula
    1. If the query does not yet have a key figure structure, create a New Structure in the Rows or Columns of the Query Designer by highlighting the row or column directory using the secondary mouse button and selecting New Structure from the context menu.
    2. If the structure does not yet contain any key figures, use drag and drop to transfer a (basic) key figure of the InfoProvider into the directory of the new structure.
    3. Select the structure directory, and choose New Formula. The New Formula entry is inserted and the properties for the formula are displayed in the Properties screen area.
    4. Select the New Formula entry and, from the context menu (secondary mouse button), choose Edit. The Change Formula dialog box appears.
You can also call the Change Formula dialog box from the Properties screen area by choosing the Edit pushbutton.

  • Can't change a Restricted Key Figure technical name in QD BEx 7.1.0

A few days ago I created a new Restricted Key Figure in Query Designer and it was autopopulated with a default technical name.  So I immediately changed it to 'ZRNPVORDINTFACTPPP_FY'.
Now, today, I realized that the 'F' in the technical name is a typographical error and I need to remove it.  I clicked the Restricted Key Figure on the left from within the list and clicked the Change/Display pencil icon in the properties window, but the Technical Name field is still greyed out.  Also tried right clicking and selecting Edit, but same problem.
Would removing all instances of where the figure is used in the query and other queries allow me to change it?  Could it be a user rights issue?
As always, thanks for the help!

    Hi,
After creating a RKF , you cannot change its technical name.
If the RKF has a lot of restrictions and creation of another similar RKF is a big process ,
you can create a copy of the same through transaction RSZC.
In RSZC , give the source and target cube name as the name of the multiprovider on which your query is built,
select restricted keyfigure ,click on execute ,  in the list which comes after execute find your KF 'ZRNPVORDINTFACTPPP_FY'
and click on transfer/copy option available.Change the technical name as you want and then click on execute. A similar keyfigure with the desired technical name will be created in query designer ,global keyfigures .
Replace the same with your Old keyfigure in report.

  • Can I restrict a restricted key figure on another Key Figure ?

    Hi Experts,
I tried to acheive this but was not able to do it.
Can I restrict a restricted key figure on another Key Figure ? I have a restricted key figure named " No of Orders Completed" and I have a key figure " No of Repair Days". I want to only report on the orders which get completed in 5 days.
So I want to restrict " No of orders completed" by key figure "No of repair days" = 5.

    Hello
you can create a CKF (If you have RKFs created for No of days and orders completed) or Fomula (if you have selection created for No of days and orders completed) with the following condition.
(No of days <= 5)*No of orders completed + 0
this will give you No of orders completed for all the orders for which no of repair days <= 5.
Do not forget to apply the exception aggregation on the newly create formula. Set exception aggregation as total and reference characteristic as order.
After that creat a condition to hide all the records with 0 in the newly created formula.
I think that should solve your issue.

  • [sapsem] BI-IP: Documents with restricted key figures in WAD

    Hello,
we use documents for characteristics in WAD (BI IP) suscessfully.
We would like to use documents also for restricted key figures.
    Example:
0Version has "document property" defined in RSA1
    We have a restricted keyfigure ED_K10 with the restriction 0VERSION = 10
We are not able to use it, because document functionality can be used
    for characteristics only.
Does anyone have an idea what to customise to be able to use documents
    also for restricted keyfigures?
regards and thanks in advance for any feedback
    Eckhard Lewin

    Hi Eckhard,
    I think 0version needs "document property" , too !

  • Create restricted key figure with navigation attributes

    Hi,
I need to create a restricted key figure using attributes of 0BP_COMPET.
    On my report is :
    Competitors (0BP_COMPET)
    Quantity
Active Competitors = Expiry Date of Minority Status greater than or equal to system date
Inactive Competitors = Expiry Date of Minority Status less than to system date
Note : Expiry Date of Minority Status is a navigation attribute of 0BP_COMPET and system date is generate by variable 0DAT - Current Calendar Day (SAP Exit).
How can i apply the formula?
    Thanks

  • Restricted Key Figure with interval variable

    Hi,
I've a restricted key figure for KF 0AMOUNT restricted by 0FISCPER. There is a variable restriction on 0FISCPER which determines the period interval in customer exit.
    e.g. 001.2008 to 009.2008
The problem is, in query this RKF is returning only the values for period 009.2008. It should return the total for all the periods.
Can you tell me what could be missing?
    Regards,
    Amit

    Hi Amit,
please check the cutomer exit, as the range might not be properly defined in the exit.
Firstly check if the variable is defined as range or single value, and if defined as range please check the below mentioned lines in the exit:
    L_S_RANGE-SIGN = 'I'.
    L_S_RANGE-OPT = 'BT'.
    as they stand for:
    SIGN     (I)ncluding [ ] or (E)xcluding ] [
OPT     Operators: EQ =, BT [ ], LE <=, LT <, GE >=, GT >, CP, and so on.
    hope it helps
