Cancel ECN in BOM & remove change number in Routing

Dear Gurus,
I have 2 questions about ECN , pls. help .
1> If we made a wrong ECN in BOM with change number, pls. advise how to cancel this ECN in BOM.I tried to delete the change record in CC02 but it's not allowed since BOM has been changed already.If I made a new change in BOM with new change number, in BOM it will show a new change number, but I don't want to show these change numbers because it should be no changes happen, pls. advise how to recall the change and remove the change number in BOM .
2> We use change number when we change routing ( CA02) in the past, now due to some internal issue, we want to remove all change numbers in routing, I can't find any option in CC02 or CA02, pls. advise is it possible to remove existing change number?

Dear Tina,
In my understanding you may not be able to delete the change number assignment made in BOM or routing.
But you can define an alternative date for the made changes and set the valid from date as say 31.12.5555.
Check and revert.

Diagnosis
You want to change the BOM with the entered change number.
One of the following situations triggered this error message:
1. The indicator that allows automatic generation is not set for object type BOM in the change master.
2. The indicator generation only on initial creation is set for object type BOM
3. You are processing a change request.
System response
The system checks whether the indicator object management record will be generated is set in the change master.
If the indicator generation only on initial creation is set, the system checks whether the BOM exists in the system.
Procedure
If you are authorized to change the change master, execute the following steps:
For 1.)
Set this indicator for object type BOM or create the control record in the change master.
For 2.)
If the BOM already exists in the system and the generation only on initial creation indicator is set, the system can no longer generate the control record automatically.
In this case you have to add the object control record to the change master first, then you can change the BOM in relation to the change number.
For 3.)
You cannot generate any object control records for a change request.

With your question regarding changing BOM with change number it looks lke there may be problem in defining the Object types,objects.Moreover whenever converted to ECO you need to enter into cs02 tcode for changing the bom with relevant change number and valid from date.

Change number mandatory Routing for a particular Plant

Dear All,
i have requirement to make change no field mandatory for only one plant. this field should not be mandatory for other plant. I tried with OP5A tcode, using plant as influencing field, change no as modified field and content as plant no. so its working but,
it doesnt work for the 1st time execution. from 2nd time only its working. like this user will be able to make the changes without change number in every login 1st time.
So i set the plant as user parameter in user profile and made it working. but its not full proof soluton. can any one suggest some solution??
please suggest.

The change number requirements on CS02 is controlled by the authorization object C_STUE_ROH.
Note 420878 provides more information about this scenario.
Check the relevant information provided on the note below:
Symptom
In Customizing of the BOM, the history requirement is set or a BOM requires a history. Despite this, it is possible to process BOMS without engineering change management. The system only processes a warning message (29 045) which can be skipped.

Check the authorization profile of the respective user.
Example:
 C_STUE_NOH <OBJ>
 &_SAP_ALL <AUT>
 NOHIS <FLD>
would have the authorization to process BOMs requiring history without a change number. In this case, if you change '*' to ' ' in NOHIS, you will no longer receive a warning, but rather an error message.

Enginering Change Number (ECN)& alternative date

We have a scenario like this:
We are having ECN effective in our system.
Now we want to use the alternative date functionality for some objects.
Ex:- we have a BOM with change number for which valid from date say" X".
Already change is effective from "X" date.
If we change valid from date of "X" to altrnate date say "Y"for this object, & if we want to change this object with reference to this change number , the system is automatically changing the earlier changes also new valid from date "Y".
I want to know is there any method to avoid this.

actually alternative date functionality is used like if you have BOM, task list created with reference to an ECn with a validity date and suppose you wish to activate the Bom to a different validity date with same ECN. then BOm will be active from the alternative date whereas the tasklist will be active from the validity data of the ECN.
procedure
in CC01 or CC02
verify objects are assigned to the ECN ( BOM, TL etc) by selecting the object assginment button if not assigned then assign the same.
create the ECN with alternatedatekay and alternate dates by presssing the altrnate date button.
after creating the altrnate dates
from the same screen select the alternate date and then press the object assignement button
Now select the appropriate object and then press assignobject. now press the details key you can see the alternate date assigned
Just save it
thats all everything is fine

Even if you have maintained settings in OS27,In T code CS02 ,the system allows
you to change the BOM without a change number.
The same question was posted by Mr.Anbalagan ,3 days before.
The follwing are the answers which I posted to him,check this under post thread name ECR Number
If you want to make Change number field as mandatory for CS02,u have to do it
using the authorisation object.For certain users you can make this as an
mandatory field ,just discuss with Basis & ABAP consultants,they can help out
you in this regard.
Though you might have done settings perfectly in OS27,OS54,but the system
allows you to change a BOM without any change number.

I have checked in my system for certain users,like without change number it doesnt allow to change BOM,
So after giving SU53,I found the authorization obeject C_STUE_NOH was missing.
So go ahead in using this object.

exit.
Field name AENNR -Change number can be made as mandatory .
Plz explain the case to ABAP consultant.
First in SE37 he will be checking whether this particular field AENNR has got a field exit.
Later on he will be writing some codes to make this field as mandatory.
This is what i wanted to convey to u.
In my project ,for the core users the field has been made mandatory,so in CS02,he/she cant go inside without giving the change number.
At that time when u give SU53,this authorisation object will be found not given.
So just have a word with the ABAP consultant,he can help u.

I want to make change number in CS02 and CS20 as mandatory. Pls suggest the procedure..

1.Change number is used to create / change BOM with respect to a change number. The reason for using this field is, in many organizations, they use the concept of ECM, where-in each change needs to be monitored & logged. So a change number is first created in CC01 & then the same is assigned in cs01.
2.This change number must be allowed to use for the business object BOM,which means whilke
creating the change number you have to include the settings for usage in BOM.
3.Using the change number we can trace the history of the BOM.
4.History includes the created date,changes made,it might be an additon of componet or a change in
the component details,a deletion of compoent.
5.There are certain config settings to make this field as mandatory,otherwise the system will allow you
to create or change a BOM without change number in CS01 or cs02...

BOM mapping with change number error during IDoc process

Hi all,
i am creating BOM using IDoc BOMMAT04.i have checked this IDoc will use FM IDOC_INPUT_BOMMAT inside.
in this function module, it is using FM CSAP_MAT_BOM_CREATE and CSAP_MAT_BOM_MAINTAIN to create and change.
currently, creation and deletion is success. but when change, if the change number passed as an input parameter, the IDoc process error saying that the BOM header not allowed to update for read-only field.
if i not pass the change number, the change will be success, but no change number displayed in the item. that is not the user expected.
and if i delete the bom with change number, create a new BOM for the same material is not aloowed, saying that BOM already existing.
it seems that CSAP_MAT_BOM_CREATE and CSAP_MAT_BOM_MAINTAIN cannot support much. it is limited.
can anyone have any good solutions? thanks!

yeah, for the change, i have solved it.
but currently, if i delete the existing BOM with a change number, the re-creation is not allowed by the IDoc saying that the BOM already existing.
if i delete in CS02 without change number, it deleted from DB and can be re-create.
but if delete in IDoc without change number, it failed saying that local BOM can not be deleted by ALE.
do you have any solution? i want to implment in IDoc: delete existing BOM and create a new one for the same material with change number. (currently the standard IDoc FM not support BOM group)

Dear SAP PP,
You can create the number Ranges for the Change number using the T Code OS53--->under this click on change
intervals--->Click on Insert Interval(Shift+F1),enter the from and To Number range and under this if you include the check box for
external means external number definition is allowed.
So say if you have defined a number range 1 to 50000,and during internal number range definition,while creating the change
number in CC01,the system checks the last created number and it proposes the next running number automatically.Say if the last
number was 25000,today if you create a change number using CC01,after saving the data the system says change number
25001 has been created successfully.It does not mean the system creates a change automatically in the case of internal number
range defined.
In the case of external number definition,in the input screen of CC01 itself you can enter any number falling within this number
range and then save the data.
Always try to use internal number range.
This change number will be used in the T Codes CS01/CS01 for creation or BOM modification.
Check and revert back with your further queries.

ECN field obliged when changing a BOM

Hi all,
I found after flaged the historical demand and ECM in OS27,it is still just a warning message that tells the user a ECN should be maintained when doing CS02,changing the message type and category is not available in the standard system.
How many other ways that I can make the filed ECN is a must when changing the BOM,besides SHD0.
Is there a standard and easy solution?

PI 7.31 (single stack) posting RFC gives this error: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE: Processing of change number CO-01234 cancelled (raised by system ECCHostXYZ)

I'm trying to determine if I am dealing with an RFC connection issue or just an error resulting from the RFC itself.
The error says "Processing of change number...cancelled (raised by...ECCHostXYZ)".
I thought this was a problem with my RFC config because it is labeled as "RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE".
However, when I google that specific message, it appears to be an error specific to change order creation.

Hi Jody,
No st22 exception is needed to be throwed in order to raise a controlled exception in the RFC.
You would need to check the RFC in the ECC system with the data that you are sending from PI, if the data is the same, you would need to check PI user RFC roles with the ECC roles user that you used to check the data integrity in the ECC test.
To avoid this error you can do a Z RFC to wrap the standard RFC and to control the exceptions errors with a BAPIRET2 strucutre to return to PI.

How to make change no mandatory for BOM creation and change?
The required config should not impact any other objects except BOM Creation & Change.

In case of CS01/CS02 to make the change number as mandatory,follow this steps,
1.In OS27 - Check box included for BOM validity maintained,EC Management active,History Requirement.
2.In OS25 - BOM usage 1 & BOM status 1 - History Requirement check box is included.
3.Authorization object C_STUE_NOH is with No.For this you should take the help from your BASIS
consultant,while creating a new role in PFCG for this Authorization object C_STUE_NOH the value must
be set as No.
In most of the cases consultants peform the first 2 step alone,in that case only a warning message is displayed,only if step 3 is
done ,an error message gets displayed and the user cannot enter or make any changes for the BOM without any change
number.

Using One change number it's not possible to define a different valid from date for the BOM changes of a single material BOM.
In case if the same change number is used for making different material's BOM component,then a different valid from date for
each BOM can be defined,but at any given point not for each component/item level of the same BOM.
Check and revert back.

Error when I change the BOM without a change number

Hi,
I would like to receive an Error when I change the BOM without a change number.
I define the modification parameter (EC management active and History reqmnt), I configure history reqmnt for BOM (I choice the status 1 and 3 for my BOM usage 5)
In change the message type I dont have the really message number in the liste.
How can I create a new message (045) so that I get an error by changing the BOM without a change number.

check for the Authorization Object C_STUE_NOH for the
particular User Id's for which you want to Create or Change a
BOM without a Change number.
So assign this Authorization Object under all user id's for which
you want to have this control.
Adding the mentioned Authorization Object in particular User
Id's will resolve the problem.
This can be done using PFCG T code by adding in particular
Roles.
Revert back incase of any clarifications.
