Cancellation of BT Services

I have recently purchased a property on a new estate in Andover Hampshire.
When I tried to arrange a move of my BT services (Broadband Infinity 2 etc.) I was told the area is not serviced by BT and that I would have to pay service cancellation charges of almost £350.  I was not aware that BT could not provide service when I paid my reservation fees on the property.
The estate Im moving to is serviced by a company called "See the Light" (STL) and they are currently the sole provider for telaphone and broadband services for the area.  STL build and operate residential fibre networks, mainly on new build estates. They also offer unbundled services that other operators can purchase wholesale and resell onto residential customers.
In my case BT have not purchased any unbundled services from STL, and I am having to fork out almost £400 to cancel my BT services as a result.
My (laymans) understanding of BT and their cancellation charging policy is that if a customer wanted to move their BT services to a new address, but BT are unable to service that address, then the cancellation charges are waived.
I have been a BT Telephone line customer at my old address (moving in two weeks time) for over 10 years, and an Infinity broadband customer for almost 3 months.
BT are quoting £30 broadband cancellation charge, £255 for cancelling my telephone line and £65 for the Broadband router.
Given that I actually WANT to stay as a BT customer, but they can't service my home, do these charges seem fair??

    I was a previous Fios customer and had open a new account since I was moving to a new apartment.   That was in December.   The next available date for them to install Fios was in January.    The installation day comes and nobody at all shows up.   I call twice and I was told I would get a call back.   Verizon later tells me nobody showed because I never confirmed my apointment (which I absolutely did).   So the installation date was rescuedled to another far away date in February.  Great, I have to go three more weeks without any internet or cable.   The Feburary 12th installation comes and they couldn't complete the installation and promised to be back the next business day.   The next businessday comes and nobody shows up.  I call Verizon and they say they have to reschedule and tell me the next date they have is ....MARCH.   Is this a joke? How many months now without internet and television?  
    I tell them I will not wait until March for something they already started and they tell me they'll contact their supervior to put me on priority installtion since work was already started at in apartment and promised to call me back the same day.    No call back.   Called again the next day and I'm promised another call back.   Again, no call back.
    This is beyond frustrating and if service is not installed this week, I'm done with Verizon.   Cancelling my  business service, wireless accounts and never doing business with this company again.

    User is trying to cancel a confirmed service order using Transaction code IW45. When he cancells the service order it is showing the posting date is past date( order confirmed date). Not current date.
    But when we do the cancellaton of production orders and goods issue against service orders it is showing current date ( default ).
    As per user requirement the cancellation of confirmed service order should display the current date not past date.
    Since IW45 is a standard process , then the user requirement is the cancellation of service orders posting date should be the current date but not the service order confirmed date( Past Date ).
    Please let me know is there any possibility if so how??

    Hi,
    We have many open service Purchase orders in the system(More than 1800) and we would like to cancell these PO's as business dont need the service.
    Scenario:
    We have raised PR, which is approved by multi level approvals
    After PR is approved, PO is created again approved by multi level approvals
    Now 1% of the above PO's required to be cancelled which is almost aroung 1800 in number.
    Pls note that we have Funds management active, so budget has consumed in the system during PR/PO process.
    Now if we cancel PO's then even PR's also to be cancelled which is very lengthy process, Is there any other way to do this.
    Can we do anything from service entry sheet?

    I don't think you can close the PO from ML81N without posting some form of service receipt.
    Do you have any experiences with the mass maintenance transactions?
    After reading some of the discussions below I would suggest you use the MEMASSPO transaction to set the deletion indicator on each PO item (EKPO-LOEKZ) to "L".  Running transaction MASS for business object will get you to the same functionallity.
    There is also a MEMASSRQ transaction (or MASS for business object BUS2105) which you can use to quickly set the closed indicator for the corresponding requisition lines.

    I ordered the installation package before 8/15 because of moving. However, the first package was arrived before 8/15 at the new address which we have not moved in. We do not get the package. The second time verizon end up to deliver the package to my previous address after we move, and the third time they finally deliver the package to my new address after we cancelled this service. Now I have two packages at hand. I do not know why I still get the bill and how should I take care of these two packages.

    While DSL has worked fine for 10 years for my home use, I now have to work from home in a bandwidth intensive field with a minimum requeirement of 20Mbs and 50Mbs being optimal.  Fios is not available to me.  Reluctantly I have to go to the "dark side" , Comcast.
    I have tried for 3 days now and due to the strike, no-one will answer the phone.
    Have I missed something on the web site?  I can't find a page to cancel my DSL only. There isn't even a site-map.  I just don't want to keep paying for a service I can't use anymore.  I have sent  a message to "contact us", but don't have much hope for that in the current situation.

    just call AppleCare and tell them you need to cancel. They can look your dipatch up by iPod serial# or your dispatch ID#.

  • Cancel 3rd party service error message

    Signed up for 7 day free trial of Mobile TV and have been trying to cancel it before trial period is over. When I try to access Mobile TV under my listed purchases I continue to get Error 500 message telling me I cannot access at this time. I called customer service yesterday and rep couldn't find record of that purchase so he put a purchase block on my number and assured me I wouldn't be charged the monthly fee. This needs to be resolved correctly as I will refuse to pay those charges.

    Have you tried removing it online?
    If you login to your account, choose your line, choose add or change services. Remove mobile TV and save.
    I would certainly call or check your account again to make sure it is not on the billing.

    The action of your numbers from other companies being ported over into our system is the same action that cancels service with the other provider.
    If you were not out of contract with the other provider then you would have a cancellation fee with that company

    I have my TV, BT sport, telephone and broadband with BT.  I rang them recently regarding my phone package and they tied me in for another 12 months without my consent.  Apparently there is no cooling off period (BT are the only provider who do not provide a cooling off period for customers, once the call is over you are tied in) unlike other major providers.  During the call my TV service was not mentioned, can I terminate my TV with BT and move to another provider?  If I do, is there a penalty, if so what is it.  If anyone reading knows the answer can they let me know.  My husband is very unhappy with BT television service as they do not provide any of the sky channels where I live.  He wants to move to a provider who can provide the service he wants and BT cannot provide it.  Can anyone advise me.  Thanks.

    I will consider this.  During my call to the India call centre the TV or BT sport was never mentioned by me, I only wanted to ask about the caller display and the 1571.  I have been a BT customer for the past 25 years or so and I have seen the service, especially customer service deteriorate significantly over recent years.  I have the fibre cables running down my street so I could see about getting the sky sports from them but I have to make sure I have not been tied in for another 12 months by BT first of all.  I have checked everything on MyBT and cannot see anything about contracts there.  Having both BT TV and Virgin would be quite expensive, another £47 per month to have all the sports plus I would have to take a basic package first of all with 100 channels, not possible to take only the sky sports.  I may pluck up the courage to ring BT tomorrow sometime but as I said before I am afraid they might tie..... somehow!  All going well, I should only have 4 more months then on my TV, then cancel TV and Films package and take Virgen instead which would reduce my monthly package.  At present I pay around £80 a month and more sometimes to BT.  The only good thing is I have International Friends and Family which I use a lot (pay extra for that, but not much) and this saves me quite a bit as all our family on both sides are living overseas, even our children.

    Yo dude, iphone is awesome i dont know why you wouldn't want your service anymore but still I got an answer. If you don't have a sim card in or no service or anything, your phone would go along just as it is but the only difference is no phone calls and internet on the go. You can still use your apps and wifi and ipod and all of the phone's functions. The only thing you miss is the phone functions such as calls, sms, and the data.

    I have had issues for several months now with my Razr Maxx HD with an inability to send or receive pics in several different messaging apps, in normal and safe modes. In addition to no pics, almost every time I open the app, I get the same "unfortunately messaging has stopped working".  I tap "OK" and it takes me back to the home screen.  After reading the forum posts on Verizon wireless website, I download the Verizon Messaging app and see the exact same issues (no pics in or out and same 'unfortunately it's stopped' error).
    About a month ago, I went to the Verizon wireless store in Norfolk, VA on Military Highway and the manager, "Bakari", stated that the problems with not being able to send or receive pics in my messaging app is not Verizon's issue to resolve and he said it's my responsibility to figure it out!  Today, Saturday 27 Sep 2014, I go yet again to the Verizon wireless store and unfortunately had to speak with the same store manager "Bakari".  Not surprised, he was of absolutely no help.  In fact this time he even suggested I cancel my existing contract with Verizon and said "you may be happier with another company".  After staying with Verizon for 8 yrs 9 months with a $200/month bill, I am disgusted with the quality of service from Verizon and especially embarrassed by the quality of management they put in charge of their stores.  The employee I was dealing with this evening when the "manager" was attending other issues said to me "don't pay attention to him, we're not sure how he's a manager here.  He makes everything worse."
    While at the store tonight, I notice a sign that says that "Verizon PROUDLY offers military discounts".  I asked the manager about this and specifically when this discounted started.  I informed him that I have been active duty U.S. Navy for 15 years and every day of the almost nine years my family and I have been with Verizon.  I was shocked when he says "we don't advertise that here in a military town, we would lose too much money".  As disrespectful as that was, I bit my tongue and asked if this discount can be back dated with proof of service back to the beginning of this discount.  He answers with "can't do that Sir, it's not our fault that you didn't provide proof of your military service in the past."
    The manager recommended I call the retention department to discuss cancellation and after 37 minutes on hold before trying again and another 24 minutes on hold before getting disconnected, I lost patience today dealing with Verizon.  I am disgusted with this company, their management and their completely unethical approach to the customer.  I have been unable to simply receive the services I'm paying for with texts and mms pictures, receive any assistance at all from in-store visits, have incompetent managers to deal with and finally, receive no attempt to make a long time customer happy with any replacement or upgrade on a phone that I've apparently been eligible for a military discount for quite some time!
    At the end of the day, I will not stop until I can get the attention of someone in a corporate management level to express my displeasure with performance, management ethics and customer SERVICE.  Had this embarrassing excuse of a manager simply exercised his management authority to either resolve or replace my phone, I would have gladly stayed with Verizon for another nine years. 

    Thank you Verizon for showing me that you don't deserve my business.  Went with another company who paid the outrageous termination fee for us and we transferred all of our lines and business to a company that is deserving of our hard earned money.
    Hopefully the manager of the Norfolk store, Bakari, reads this and is made aware from Verizon management that he directly caused the loss of a customer that had been with Verizon for nearly nine years.  Got out from Verizon for no charge, got a working phone (BRAND NEW SAMSUNG GALAXY S5 FROM THE RAZR MAXX!) and reduced our monthly payment by 48%!  Hopefully anyone that reads this looks into the other companies that offer buy out incentives with free upgrades, no annual contracts and a monthly payment that reduced us personally from over $200 per month for my family to just over $100 and increased our data plan from 4GB to 6GB per month!
    DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND LEAVE VERIZON!  THE "INCREASED COVERAGE" IS NOT WHAT YOU ARE LED TO BELIEVE.  TAKE A LOOK ONLINE AT THE SITES THAT ALLOW USERS TO REPORT DEAD ZONES AND YOU WILL SEE THAT THERE ARE COMPANIES THAT HAVE JUST AS GOOD COVERAGE WITH FAR LESS COST AND MUCH MORE ADVANTAGES!  THE BIGGEST PREACHERS OF INCREASEDE "COVERAGE" ZONES ARE VERIZON AND VERIZON USERS!

  • ByDesign : Deny access to invoice cancellation for Customer Service role

    Hi Experts,
    I've got the requirement from our customer that they need to allow Customer Service to create invoice but NOT allow them to cancel it.
    I have tried to set the restriction but it doesn't work. In my understanding, standard ByDesign can restrict the role to not access all action in Work Center View, cannot restrict only some actions (i.e. cancellation).
    Is there any way to deny access or setting the restriction to Customer Service role? or is it possible to using ByDesign Studio to customize it?

    I've noticed in standard ByDesign can assign an UI switch to disable some functions/button which is what I'm looking for. But I thought it can only assign to the Self-Service overview so I gave up on it.
    However, your answer is very helpful, I will take a look at Cloud Studio and try to do it as your advice.
