Cannot Access print-manager Interface In KDE

Hello all,
First of all, I have print manager installed. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the problem still persists. The problem is that no matter what I do, there is no option in the System Settings app on KDE to manage printers. I realise that I can just use the CUPS interface, but that leaves a lot to be desired for me.
I have spent hours scouring the web for any information on this, and it appears that the most common reason for this problem is that people don't have print-manager installed in the first place. That is definitely not the reason I'm having the problem, however.

  • Lightroom 3: cannot access color management / print dialog

Whenever I go to print anything in Lightroom 3 (or CS5 for that matter), I cannot access the print / color management settings in the print dialog box. The words are there with black lines through them, with the warning that the bundle doesn't match the architecture - or something like this. I have installed the newest print driver software (Epson 2200, work horse). Help! I have not been able to solve the problem with Adobe either.

After trying to figure this out for weeks, I did find a related post on Lightroom's Facebook page. It is the 64 bit issue. To solve, highlight the application icon, go to "Get Info" dialog box, and click on "open in 32 bit mode". Same applies for CS5.  Good Lord, what a hassle.

  • Cannot access Startup Manager from boot

I'm trying to fix a friends computer, and I'm running into some issues. Here's the setup:
She used her computer last night, and then shut it down. This morning, she tried to start it up, and after about 10 minutes of waiting, got the folder with a question mark. She tried resetting it a few time, but still kept getting the folder with question mark.
So, I am now currently trying to trouble shoot the system to figure out exactly what the problem is. These are the solutions I've tried:
    Resetting the PRAM, several times
Trying to startup from external USB drive, by using the "force bypass of internal drive" key command at startup
Starting the problem machine in target disk mode, and connecting it to my laptop (the drive didn't show up on the desktop, disk utility or Techtools Pro)
Startup in Safe mode (got folder with ?)
Startup in Verbose mode (just got a grey screen)
Now, I have my laptop, in target disk mode, connected to her laptop, and I am trying to access the Startup Manager (hold option key at startup). But, after about 20 minutes of waiting, I still have just a grey screen with the mouse cursor; no icon for my computer; no refresh; nothing. I tested this firewire cable with my laptop and another computer, and it works just fine.
My next option is to try the force bypass again, then try an OSX CD. Everything after that involves removal, and possible replacement, of the drive.
Does anyone have any idea why I cannot access the Startup Manager on this system?

OMG this is what just happened to me exactly last night! I was in the middle of a freaking project that is due monday and i might lose everything! It is currently at the apple store right now and i wont get it back for 3 or 4 days. I am freaking out because they said there is a chance that i could lose everything. They said there is a problem with the hard drive....have you found anything out about this? BC i am freaking out! I pretty much cried for hours and if i lose all my data that is like 2000 dollars of music and movies down the drain. I hope you can fix it but id advise that your friend take it to the store just bc i would be afraid to make it worse.

  • Cannot access Print Options

Im trying the Aperture 2.1 trial before buying the product. I like the editing features of the software but havent been able to print an image yet since, for some reason, I cannot access the printer options through the program. I am using an iMac with the latest software updates, and a Canon 6700D printer which works fine with anything and everything else including iPhoto. When I get ready to print and image, I open File> and then Print Image since Print is grayed out. When I click on Print Image I get a Screen that has Printer Settings as an option where I could specify Media, Quality etc. However, When I Click Printer Settings, nothing happens. Anyone have any thoughts about this? I don't want to buy the program without looking at the out put.

Bu sure you have the latest system update if you’re working with leopard. There has been an antremediate Security Update that lead to exactlyte problem you described and was fixed with the latest system update.
    Cheers

  • Cannot crate ap-manager interface

Hello everybody hope you are doing great!
Yesterday I was in one of our client premises configuring a WLC 5508 with software 7.2, went through the initial configuration wizard with no problem whatsoever, my issue began when trying to configure a ap-manager interface.
In many WLC configuration guides cisco states that for 5508 it is not required to configure an ap-manager interface because the management will suffice, but then they put a side note recommending it's configuration for best practices and better performance. OK so I saw that in an earlier version document and now they do not make the recommendation but the still use the word required and for me that's still is not a limitation.
Well anyways, I can't create the ap manager interface because when I put the VLAN ID it says the it is being used by another interface. Any help?
    Thank you in advance

For 5500 series controllers, you are not required to configure an AP-manager interface,
the management interface acts like an AP-manager interface by default.
If desired, you can disable the management interface as an AP-manager
interface and create another dynamic interface as an AP manager.
Make sure that you have disable the option of ap manager on the management interface before creating the new AP manager interface and on the 5508 WLC the AP-manager interface can not be on the same VLAN as the managment interface like on the old WLCs.

    Hi Georges,
Looks like this may be a hardware issue.
Can you please paste the output of following CLIs ?
    show hardware
    show version
    show alarm history detail
    Further,
how did this issue arise? Was there a power failure / abnormal shutdown / reboot of the box?
Was this unit operational when this alarm came in?
How did you came to know about this issue? And since how long this issue is going on ?
    Regards.

  • No access to management interface on WLC4002

    my dilemma is the follwing:
    I've have a remotly connected WLC4002.
The service port is in 10.10.4.0/23 and the management IF in 10.10.1.0/24. Both are connected to a L3 catalyst which is also providing the default gateway for both networks. (i.e. ~.254). To get access to the service port I had to add a route: "route add 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 10.29.5.254". The management IF is configured like this:
    "interface address management 10.10.1.240 255.255.255.0 10.10.1.254"
But I can pignthe man.IF only from it's own network not from remote networks 10.x.y.0. For me it looks like as if this IF doesn't use it's configured def. gateway - but the static route from the service port. (btw: I can reach other nodes in the network of the manag.IF)
Now I fear that I'll loose connection completly if I'm playing with the routing entries.
Any idea how to configure that I can reach both interfaces?
Or - in case change config won't work - is there something similiar like the IOS command "reload in"?
    Thanks for you help

When the service port is connected to the network, you have to make sure the management port can't get to the service port subnet and vice versa, since it is used for out-of-band management. If there is a route then you might have issues.... I normally don't even connect the service port to the network at all, but that is just me.
If you are trying to reach the wlc management port from a a subnet that one of the dynamic interfaces on the wlc is configured for, then you have to enable management via dynamic interface on the cli of the wlc.
    config network mgmt-via-dynamic-interface enable
    config network mgmt-via-wireless enable

  • Database up but cannot access Enterprise Manager or APEX Login

Newbie here so sorry if this is straightforward.
I've already searched the forums and have tried to do what is recommended and still have an issue.
I'm running 10.2 Enterprise on a windows XP virtual machine. It has been working ok for some time.
I rebooted the VM without shutting down the DB. When it rebooted the database is up and I can run queries using SQLplus. However I can't load any services through a web page eg. Enterprise Manager, APEX login.. I also can't make a connection using SQL Developer. These were all working fine before.
I've searched these forums already and some people have had similar issues when running 10.2 on a virtual machine and it was the listener that was an issue...
I deleted and reinstalled the listener using Net Configuration Assitant and restarted the DB but that didn't help.
Below are the results when i use tnsping. Any advice would be really appreciated! Thanks!

  • Cannot access printer options

We recently purchased an iMac with OS X Leopard and installed two printers - Epson CX4200 and R1900. Both drivers seem to have installed properly however, we have no access to advanced printing options like print quality, additional media sources like the roll feeder on the R1900, and custom color options usually available in a seperate Epson window. We followed the Help instructions to go to system preferences and printer driver window to select the options available but no options appear. The status monitor and utilities seem to work fine, but none of the options seem to be recognized by the operating system. Any ideas?

Kappy: I am having the same problem with my Epson 740i printer and also with PageSender on my iMac Intel 24 OS 10.5.5. The Epson driver is there and I am able to use the utility to see ink levels etc. But when I use an application such as Pages or AW and go File>Print my printer shows up and will print if I click the Print button but if I click the Presets button no printer options are available, just Standard.

  • Deskjet 6988 print cartridge "gate" -- Cannot access print cartridges

This printer has been giving me excellent service for many years, so I'm not surprised that it may be getting a bit wonky. Still, any advice would be most appreciated!
Lately, this "gate" has been popping up, preventing me from accessing the print cartridges:
It seems to be saying "turn off the printer," or maybe "turn it off and turn it back on again," which would make sense, because that would force it to do its little dance and reset itself. MOST of the time, this doesn't do any good. The cartridges just sit there, and the gate remains.
However sometimes turning it off and on does cause the mechanism to move, and the gate goes up and down, and sometimes stays down.
I haven't seen any references to this "gate" in the manual. Does anyone know what it's called?
Is there a way to force the printer to reset and drop the gate? A factory reset didn't work.
    Thanks!
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

I came up with a work-around! This was driving me completely nuts, so putting this out there in case it helps anyone:
In my case, doing a cartridge re-align does the trick, temporarily, or just enough so that I can replace an empty cartridge. Use your printer's utility software to do that.
After doing that, when I open the lid to see if the gate is down, I see that it is in fact down. However, when I close the lid, the machine shuffles around a bit and raises the gate, as confirmed by lifting the gate a second time. But to lower the gate, I just have to do a cartridge re-align. : )

  • Cannot access Printer Properties

I have quite a few users who are having a problem when they try to print from FF 22.0. When they try to print a webpage, email, document, etc. and go into the Properties for the printer to change it from Letter to Legal, or Legal to Letter, the item will not print. I've reset the printer in about:config and that didn't help. If I go into the prefs.js and remove the printers, close FF and reopen that helped, however the next day, I get another call from the users w/ the same issue. Is there a fix, or workaround? I don't really have time to edit the prefs.js file every day for 100+ employees.
    Thank You for any help.

Nothing I can see. This is on a Citrix environment as well, so all users are using the same version of FF and same plug-ins, but not all users seem to be affected. I'm looking at printer drivers to see if there could be something there.

  • Help!  I cannot access "printer settings" dialogue...

For some reason, when trying to print with my Epson 3880, the print dialogue pulldown menu does not have a "printer settings" menu available.  Weirdly enough, it shows up for my Artisan 810.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Go to Settings>General>Restrictions. Do you have restrictions on? If so, that would prevent you from making changes in some areas of the iPhone.

  • I cannot access music manager or connect to intern...

I have a Nokia 3606, installed PC Suite, and now when I plug my phone in, using the USB cable, suddenly the Music Manager and Connect To Internet applications turn gray and will not open! I tried to call Nokia, they said to be sure I had the version 6.83. I do! It says version 6.83.20.1, Operation System: Windows XP, Build 2600, Service Pack 2, PC Connectivity Solution Version: 1.0.3.55. I saw someone in the FAQs that said this happened to him with his CDMA device. My phone is a CDMA phone too. They answered his question by saying he needed a special CDMA version of PC Suite that could be downloaded at nokia-asia.com. I went there, typed in the code, and it didn't exist. Where is this version that I need? What else can I do? I've been dealing with this for DAYS! I bought a memory card, a USB cable, and went through a bunch of trouble just so I can use the mp3 player on my phone, and I can't download music to it now! Any help would be SOOOOOO appreciated, I am extremely frustrated!! Thanx in advance!

I have found a way to get the music to the phone, but it is a pain if you don't have your media in MP3 format so far as I can tell. So I get the files in a common directory, and can put them in created directory on the D: storage, which is your memory stick. Then I just drag and drop from Explorer directory files are in, to the phones D:\My_Music\ ***Your new music files***. Meanwhile I'm looking for a solution too. I'll get back on this one with details hopefully soon. I could use the RIPPING features for more music. I've only used a very small portion of my memory. But don't want to have to go thru the hoops to convert to a usable format. If anyone has had luck using other files in this fashion, please advise... My time is limited, so I have to fit this minor, yet annoying stuff in the mix. Thanks, John G.
