Cannot build ewebkit-svn from AUR due to harfbuzz issue

HI,
I am unable to build ewebkit-svn due to harfbuzz been split into harfbuzz and harfbuzz-icu. This seems to a known problem in webkit, there has been a patch to fix this but I think it is not working for EFL port.
Please let me know if anyone else has faced issue and has any idea how to fix it.
Thanks and regards,
Saurabh

I reported it on their bug tracker a while ago, but no response (which is not a surprise). The GTK port fixed it a few days after the harfbuzz update, and the EFL port still hasn't after more than 2 months.
Edit, I hadn't looked around for a while. This patch looks promising, I'm testing a version now: http://www.mail-archive.com/pld-cvs-com … 16358.html

  • Trying to install AMSN-SVN from AUR, TLS troubles (Resolved)

    Hi all,
    I just finished attempting to get AMSN-SVN from AUR working correctly. I got it installed and running fine but when I go to sign in, it complains about a missing TLS package, which was expected from what I read in the wiki. However, AMSN for some reason is unable to download the TLS package due to an error with sourceforge. I manually entered the URL in my web browser and the file in question downloaded fine that way. I extracted the archive and in the AMSN preferences I directed it to look for TLS in the folder I extracted the archive too. In theory this should work fine but it did not and no matter where I put the TLS files or point AMSN too it simply won't work.
    I also read about editing one of the TLS files but my file was correct already so it must have been fixed at some point. Anyone have any insight or tips for me? I am ready to pull my hair out. lol. I even tried installing Arch's TLS package but got no love from that either. If I can't get this to work I may have to go back to my Ubuntu install. Nooooo!! I love Arch too much.

    I know you said you already tried something similar, but I've done this few days ago, and I can't see why it wouldn't work for you...
    Thanks for the suggestion samlt. I did try that as I too found some posts relaying the same info. My file already had the correct layout so it must have been fixed sometime recently. No biggie, I am using Mercury Messenger at the moment and it seems to be doing pretty much everything I need for now, just found out about it yesterday and there was a package in the AUR so I tried it out and it is working well at the moment.
    Thanks,

  • Cannot build form off from view?

    Is this true because when I try to Add a Page to a new application I dont seem to be able to see any of my views on the list of values but my tables. Opened up a TAR and here was the response
    To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:
    Use workaround listed in Bug 4719289 - CANNOT BUILD FORM OFF FROM VIEW
    1. Create Application
    2. Give Application a name, the "From Scratch" option is selected, our
    desired
    schema is selected.
    3. Add Blank Page, select theme, etc, application is created.
    4. From Blank page, Add Form Region based on existing table, followed the
    resulting steps in the Wizard, etc.

    Please share your first name and put it into your profile to help us.
    You can create a form based on ("off from") a view after an application is created using the create page or create region wizards.

  • [SOLVED] Building VCS packages from AUR fails

    Hello,
    Whenever I try to build a git or svn package from AUR, build fails with the error in a clean chroot enviroment:
    ==> ERROR: Unknown download protocol: svn
    Aborting...
    When the build starts, makepkg actually downloads source files properly. Any clues?

    Trilby wrote:How many packages has this happened with?  Can you give an example of one that produces this error?  If the download proceeds when the build starts, it sounds like the PKGBUILD is outdated and is manually grabbing the source in the build function (in pacman<4.0 style).
    I was building https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/uefi-shell-svn: a popular and up-to-date PKGBUILD.
    Indeed I didn't merge the conf files of  clean chroot. There was a makepkg.conf.pacnew, the lacking part in my old makepkg.conf was:
    VCSCLIENTS=('bzr::bzr'
    'git::git'
    'hg::mercurial'
    'svn::subversion')
    and some small changes. Everything works fine now. Was my bad. Sorry for incovenience and thanks for your help.

  • Can't install Dropbox from AUR due to missing dependencies.

    I'm posting in the Newbie Corner, since I suspect that this is a newbie issue with a really simple solution..
    I've been using Dropbox for Linux directly from Dropbox.com, but I had now decided to convert to the AUR version (easier to update). But it won't install. It won't even build.
    ==> Manglende avhengigheter:

    ==> FEIL: Kunne ikke finne alle avhengigheter.
    ==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build bbox-git.
    ==> Restart building bbox-git ? [y/N]
    Not optimal that this is in norwegian.. But in essence it tells me that there are missing dependencies. Qt to be exact. And because of this makepkg is not able to build bbox-git. Earlier in the process (when the dependencies for bbox-git is listed) it says that qt is not installed and will be buildt from AUR. I've tried to reinstall qt. Please help.
    EDIT:
    I'm using Yaourt.

    I've tried to reinstall it. And I've installed it from the official repos of course. The AUR bit is output from Yaourt, not me.

    Also note that

  • Problem building some pkgs from AUR

    I think this must have a known solution, but I didn't found it :-/ so I'm asking.
    Today I tried to compile these pkgs: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=754, http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=261
    In both cases, I got this Error message (while running ./configure):

    If you meant to cross compile, use `--host'.
    See `config.log' for more details.
    config.log
    I suppose it's  a problem with gcc 4.3, but where? How the pkgbuilds/sources should be modified? Any hints?

    I tried to compile cuetools from the AUR PKGBUILD and it works on my machine without any errors.
    For comparison you get in the config.log file :
    configure:2225: checking for C compiler default output file name
    configure:2228: gcc -march=i686 -mtune=generic -O2 -pipe   conftest.c  >&5

    configure:2291: $? = 132
    configure:2300: error: cannot run C compiled programs.
    if you meant to cross compile, use `--host'.
    and I get :
    configure:2225: checking for C compiler default output file name
    configure:2228: gcc -march=i686 -mtune=generic -O2 -pipe   conftest.c  >&5
    configure:2231: $? = 0

    configure:2282: checking whether the C compiler works
    configure:2288: ./a.out
    configure:2291: $? = 0
    configure:2308: result: yes
    But I could not find the origin of your error.
    I have gcc version 4.3.0 running well on my i686 machine.
    Sorry for not being more helpful presently.
