Cannot change KDE menu entries

Hi all!
I installed Enemy Territory and I wanted to edit the menu entry in KDE.
I command from et to et2, an edited version of et.
When I save the menu and look back I see the entry has not changed.
How can I get KDE to remember my changes?
I use KDE 3.3.2 and Arch 0.7
Thanks!

try this:
cd ~/.kde
find |grep :
If you see a quite long path with a number of colons, that is the problem. This happened to me on both the current KDE, 3.2 and 3.1. I don't know the reason WHY it happens, but deleting the path fixed my problems with the menu.

  • Emesene no kde menu entry anymore?

    Didn't see any posts that looked relevent in the past few days.  Since my last update, emesene has gone missing from my kde menu.  It is still installed, and still works, but the nice convenient launcher in the menu has gone AWOL.  Anyone else notice this?  I tried doing a pacman -Rus emesene to remove everything and then reinstalling, but still gone.
    I'd prefer not to create the launcher myself as in the past when I've manually created Kmenu entries it always ends up throwing the whole menu out of whack.
    Obviously, not a GIANT issue, but would be convenient to be able to fix it.

  • Menu entry not displayes

    Hi everyone!
    We use NW2004s SP9 Java (Sneak Preview). I created a user and assigned a collective role: user_role -> user
    Within "user_role" there are several roles that represent menu entries. This is just to simplify user administration. By assigning "user_role" to a user, he will have all the encluded menu entries at once!
    So, each of these included roles are set es entry points. When I log on to the portal as the respective user, no menu entries are displayed. Can anybody explain this behaviour?
    Here's the structure of "user_role":
    user_role
    -> included_role_one
    -> included_role_two
    -> ...
    When I assign the subsequent roles (included_role_one, included_role_two, ...) directly to the user, they are displayed as menu entries. But when I include them into another role (user_role) and assign this one to the user, nothing is displayed.
    What do I have to do in order to display the menu entries?

    OK, I just played around a bit and it's still not working.
    Just one more example to clearify what I want to do.
    role: "Account Manager" (for all users that are account managers)
       -> role: "Accounts" (set as entry point for displaying the menu entry)
           -> workset: "Customers" (will be displayed in the second level navigation)
               -> iView: "Display Customer" (will be displayed in side navigation)
               -> iView: "Change Customer" (will be displayed in side navigation)
           -> workset: "Contact Persons" (will be displayed in the second level navigation)
               -> ...
       -> role: "Products" (set as entry point for displaying the menu entry)
               -> ...
    With this approach I just have to assign the role "Account Manager" to a user and he has all the menu entries he needs. If I want to make changes (add or remove functionality), I only need to update one role for all account managers within the company.
    So, I guess its no use to set the role "Account Manager" as an entry point but the subsequent roles for each menu entry ("Accounts", "Products", etc.) that should be displayed in the top level navigation.
    I just created a group "Account Manager" and added the user "Account Manager" to that group. Then I assigned a role "Account Manager" to that group" This role contains all the roles for the menu entries. Every role that should be displayed in the top navigation is set as entry point but not the collective role "Account Manager".
    Nothing is displayed. If I set the role "Account Manager" as entry point nothing changes. Menu entries are only displayed when I assign the subsequent roles ("Accounts", "Products") to the user directly.
    I really don't know what to do in order to change this behaviour...

  • Kde menu lost

    I guess with last upgrade i lost every single kde-menu entry. Y use xfce and have minimal kde pkgs installed, so i just noticed it because there where no k3b and amarok in my xfce menu.
    I removed kde from my system (also every config file i found) and reinstalled it, both extra and testing to check if there where something wrong with testing packages.
    Running kde it shows no apps in menu, just control panel, execute and log out. Trying to run control panel does nothing.
    I'm able to run every app from console.
    I don't know what else can i do, i would really appreciate some help...

  • PFCG menu cannot change

    Hi
    I have a problem with regards to a  role from which i want to unassign a t code.
    The system does not allow me to edit the menu in the PFCG screen and tells me
    Customizing projects are assigned and menu cannot be changed.
    I have checked the is no customizing projects in SPRO_ADMIN. Could anyone help me by telling how i can edit this role menu.
    Many Thanks
    Deb SIrcar

    Hello Deb,
    as long a cusotmizing project is assigned, it is not possible to edeit the menu.
    To remove this assignement:
    Pfcg->edit->tab menu
    Menu->Utilities->Customizing auth.
    The status in the popup will say now 'A Customizing object is assigned'.
    Press the trash button.('Delete').
    You will see in the next popup the project, which is assigned. Remove the check flag and press 'ok' (2x).
    the connection to the project is now removed (together with the menu entries of that project of course).
    To create inconsistencies by directly deleting the entry in table agr_custom to be able to edit the existing menu, I really do not suggest...

  • Cannot change my printer preferences

    Dear Hp technicians:
           Hi I'm from Mexico and I just loged in to my hp e-print center and it took me here. My problem is I find it really difficult to log in from my country coz' hp connected doesn't work, it simply just don't let my Log in.      I found that visiting hp connected-uk is the only way to log  in. But then,  I'm loged in, but I cannot change my printer preference coz' the button  doesn't exist, the one that used to say "Change setting"  is now just simple text.  How can I go back to e-print center instead of HP connected..... Please this is driving me crazy!
    I need your help

    Hi there, if you've updated your ePrintCenter account to HP Connected you can't revert back. Check out this thread for more information on the change from ePC to HP Connected http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/ePrint-Print-Apps-Mobile-Printing-and-ePrintCenter/HP-Connected-Support...
    Can you reply with a screenshot showing exactly what it is you're trying to change? Is it a setting of a printer in the Device tab or is it something in the "Settings" dropdown menu at the top right of the screen below?
    If my reply helped you, feel free to click on the Kudos button (hover over the "thumbs up").
    If my reply solved your problem please click on the Accepted Solution button so other Forum users may benefit from viewing the post.

  • Windows 8.1 cannot change password in Windows 2003 domain level domain

    On several installations of windows 8.1 enterprise, users cannot change passwords by using <ctrl> + <al> + <del> keys and choosing change password.
    The error is: "The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship"
    Fresh Windows 8.1 enterprise installs with no patches to fully patched windows 8.1 enterprise workstations have the problem.  Backed out patches one by one and tested password change without success.  Tried various dell laptops, tablets, and workstations
    but same issue.  Tried VMware guest workstation with windows 8.1 enterprise.  The domain functional level is 2003 with a mixture of Windows 2008 R2 DC's and Windows 2003 DC's.
    The add/remove from domain did not help.  What troubleshooting steps should I take from this point?  Is this related to secure channel failures?  Note: did not find event log entries for the failures in the DC's nor on the workstation.
    Perhaps I did not search  for the proper entry on the DC's.

    Hi,
    Please find below several possible cause of error “The security database on the server does
    not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship”
    Secure channel is broken (Can fix by rejoin problematic client to domain)
    AD replication issue. The computer account exists on one domain controller but not others.
    Duplicated SPN (seems not possible)
    So, to narrow down the issue, you need to make sure the AD replication is working fine. Please run command
    repadmin /showrepl * on a DC, then post the result here.
    After that, please run
    set l on a problematic client, then post the result here.
    Moreover, please check on system event log and check if there have any related error of the issue.
    Thanks.

  • Why does debugger menu entry not exist in Acrobat 7.1.0

    Today I decided to start using the JavaScript functionality of my Acrobat 7.1.0 (updated a few days ago from 7.0.x). First I searched for some documentation and found the original "Acrobat JavaScript Scripting Guide" for Acrobat 7.0, document release date July 19, 2005. What made me doubt about the quality of my environment is that there are always some features mentioned that do not at all exist in my Acrobat, such as menu entries like "Debugger" under "Advanced - Javascript". The only thing I find there is "define document actions" (menu entry translated from German). Reading other posts in this forum concerning Javascript I searched other places like acrobatusers.com and, checking the tutorials, I saw screenshots of preference screens containing more items than my ones, especially more items in the "debugger" panel of the "Javascript" entry. When searching places on my drive where Acrobat should expect JavaScript files like "Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Acrobat\Javascripts" I remember having read that there should be more files than just "Websearch.js" and "JSByteCodeWin.bin" (as it is in my case; but I'm not sure what actually should be there further).
    So far the only thing I can do to open the console is defining some action related with files (but only unhandy ones like "when closed" or "when saved"). The only way I know to open the JS debugger is defining invalid JS code for some file action and perform this action, then the debugger shows up along with the console, complaining.
    Strolling arround in my Acrobat program subdirectories I found documentation and a runnable named "ExtendedScript Toolkit" that seemed to work well (though I could not try it out seriously as it obviously is quite complicated because it relies on the InDesign object model). Did ExtendedScripting coming along with InDesign spoil my normal JavaScript environment in Acrobat? Or was it the update from Acrobat 7.0.0 to 7.1.0? How can it be that menu entries everybody else is talking about are not at all visible in my installation though I desparately enabled almost everything in my Acrobat preference settings? Are there some paranoid web security defaults making entries disappear in my installation?
    Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
    Richard

    Bernd,
    the matrix is for Acrobat 9 only and thus not totally liable. However, as for V9 the topic of scripting or debugging is not even touched in the whole matrix, one might suggest that V7 would also make no differences in that area.
    I am only guessing, but the fact that I do not find any hint about a problem similar to my one might have to do something with the "ExtendedScript Toolkit" I mentioned above. If the behavior of my Acrobat installation had been changed due to installing ExtendedScript, this would be a kind of (intended) bug most users would not complain about, because: ExtendedScript comes along with software like InDesign, and the typical ID user is not the one developing JavaScript under Acrobat.
    Searching Google for ExtendedScript I found the Adobe download area and clicking on the item it says:
    The ExtendScript Toolkit (ESTK) 1.0.3 is a scripting utility included with Adobe® Creative Suite 2 and other Adobe applications. The ESTK is used for creating, editing, and debugging JavaScript to be used for scripting Adobe applications.
    Looking up documentation on ExtendedScript (which was not very easy to find) I noticed some examples about adding a document to the target application by executing the line:
    app.document.add();
    As I am starting the ES toolkit as an own main program, I am getting the error message that this call is not executable for the target application "main", which I can accept. Maybe there is a way connecting Acrobat to ExtendedScript, maybe there is even a way to reanimate "normal" scripting, maybe normal scripting is not even unconscious but only sleeping and can be woken up easily ...
    Maybe the best way to find out is searching for a forum about scripting (albeit extended or normal). Funny, though, that my Acrobat does not at all match the original scripting documentation of Adobe concerning such elementary things like menu entries being present (especially see second attachment: "Erweitert" translates to "Advanced", "Dokument-Aktionen festlegen" to "Define document actions". Where is the "Debugger" entry???).
    If I believe others here in this forum saying that the "Debugger" entry normally is appearing in the Javascript menu. Obviously the Acrobat software contains program code to hide or remove this entry permanently. Furthermore, somebody else, also a member of the Adobe stuff, has written the documentation that does not at all contain any applying description of conditions about hiding the menu entry. What I would appreciate is if Adobe would make those two persons talk to each other about what they are doing. By that, other people like me could save a lot of time.

    Note that your system uses syslog. All of kdm's internally generated messages
    (i.e., not from libraries and external programs/scripts it uses) go to the
    daemon.* syslog facility; check your syslog configuration to find out to which
    file(s) it is logged. PAM logs messages related to authentication to authpriv.*.

  • Cannot change size of picture (in Ko) when saving with Preview

    Hello all,
    I need your help please.
    When I modify a picture with Preview, like resize it for example, then I want to save the picture, I cannot change the size in Ko like I used to be able to with Snow Leopard.
    Before, in the "Save as" menu, there was an arrow to decrease or increase the "weight" in Ko of the picture. This arrow is still there, but it does not show the number of the actual weight of the picture anymore (is it 400 ko, or 500 ko, or 600 ko, etc...).
    Anyone has the same problem ?

    I tried the steps you mentioned and found that this issue is also present in Previous versions as in PSE 10 also.
    I will suggest you to check "Convert Files to" check box and then select "JPEG Max Quality" from corresponding drop down in order to maintain the quality of your JPEG image.
    You can do it specially in case you are processing JPEG files and your image quality will remain same.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Apps failing to show up in KDE menu

    I just installed BZFlag and Cube, and there's no "Games" entry in the KDE menu, even after I restarted KDE. What's screwing up? Is this the same thing that happens with Gnome menus under Xorg 7?

    Yes I've noticed the same thing in Xfce, it seems that new xorg messes up the XDG_DATA_DIRS variable, it excludes /usr/share
    so just add some thing like this to a executable script in /etc/profile.d
    XDG_DATA_DIRS=$XDG_DATA_DIRS:/usr/share
    export XDG_DATA_DIRS
    #I'm not sure if this is needed as well
    XDG_CONFIG_DIRS=$XDG_CONFIG_DIRS:/etc/xdg
    export XDG_CONFIG_DIRS
    Perhaps someone oughta file a bug report?

  • Cannot get a menu. Get a green blank screen

    I cannot get a menu when I try to set up its. Just get a blank green screen that changes to black and green again.

    Try holding menu and up arrow on remote for 6 secs to start cycling display resolutions.

  • Cannot change Detail level of IMAP, SMTP, or Junk logs

    I am running 10.4.7 Server and 10.4.7 version of Server Admin. When I go to the Mail -> Settings -> Logging Tab I cannot change the detail level. Or at least I can use the drop down menu, but when I press Save it either blanks out the drop down menus or just resets them back to their original levels.
    Is there a command I can use to change the Logs detail level via command line? Thanks in advance.

    changing log levels has been discussed here many times. use the search feature. if you have questions after you search, please post.

  • Any pointer to look into, when buyers cannot change the payment terms

    Any pointer to look into, when buyers cannot change the payment terms on the POs due to the error u201CExpected/Overall value should be equal or greater than invoiced amountu201D
    A thought process to look around, to investage this issue is appreciated.
    Thx/RICK

    Rick,
    this message may be due to the user trying to change a Purchase order item payment terms when there is already a blocked supplier invoice registered for the item.  The vendor invoice payment terms normally override the PO payment terms.  Users sometimes think they can speed up payment to a vendor by changing the payment terms on the PO.  This can only be done before an invoice is registered and the PO term can be overridden at invoice entry time in any case.
    Have a look at the terms on any associated invoice and the vendor record for the Purch org.
    You may also want to have a look at your business process for blocked invoice resolution.
    If the user wishes to speed up payment of an invoice they need to contact the users who are responsible for the vendor payments.  We call them AP staff in our org - stands for Accounts Payable.
    Hope this helps
    Allen

  • Changing Object Directory Entry of Infocube - urgent

    Hello -
    I have an infocube that is already assigned to a package (not $TMP).
    How can I reassign it to a different package.
    When I try to reassign via Cube change, the package field is greyed out.
    I have deleted all data, deactivated the cube + aggregates.  There a re queries still attached to the cube though.  But cannot change the Object Directory Entry.
    Help solicited.
    thanks.

    In case of BW, there could be more than one package.
    One for Backend development (like cube, ODS, update rules, info objects etc) and one or more for Reports.
    So in ur case, the cube would always be alloted to the same package! You would only create new requests....
    let me know if you have more questions.
