Cannot get connected to Verizon network

I recently purchased a blackberry bold 9650 (one month ago). phone battery was getting low today so i plugged it in to charge via wall charger that came with phone. Phone would not charge. Phone would not recognize wall charger at all. I ended up having to remove battery and reboot phone to get it to charge battery. Now..the battery will charge but the phone says that the antenna is OFF in the upper right hand corner. Now, i understand this normally happens when phone battery gets low. But, battery is now fully charged and i still cannot get the antenna to turn on. Is there some manual setting that i may have accidentally hit? I would appreciate any help.

Hi, Andrea,
First, welcome to the Verizon Wireless forums.  You can manually turn on the mobile network by first, press the Menu button (to the left of the trackpad).  This is the applications screen.  Look for Manage Connections (looks like an antenna) and press Manage Connections.  Scroll down one space to Mobile Network and check the box to the left of that by pressing the space bar or the trackpad.  That is it.  You should have your 3G data connection.  While you are on the manage connections screen, you may want to turn off (uncheck) Wi-Fi and Bluetooth if you are not using those connections.  If you should need help connecting to a Wi-Fi hotspot, just let us know and we can walk you through that connection.  Good luck and Happy Holidays.

    To resolve this, you need to reconfigure the "Oracle Application Testing Suite Helper Service" (OATSHelperSvr) to start as a user who has privledges to run open script tests rather than the default SYSTEM user.
    Reconfiguring the OATSHelperSvr Service:
    1. Open the services panel (Start > Run > services.msc)
    2. Find the Oracle Application Testing Suite Helper Service
    3. Right Click > Properties then select the Log On Tab
    4. Specify an interactive user that has rights to run OpenScript (test by logging in as that user and running tests):
    5. Click OK
    6. Restart the service after dialogs are closed by Right Click > Restart
    7. You should now repeat this process for the "Oracle Application Testing Suite Agent Service" (eLoadAgentMon) Service (Two services in
    total)
    You should now retry running the test in Oracle Test Manager

    It may be a situation where we all wait for things to clear up.  The Verizon Cloud has been having issues for a very long time.  Have you tried backing up contacts to your Gmail account, if you have one?

    Are you talking about the calendar app?  go to settings - general - reset - reset home screeen layout.

    Those are not test calls but real calls made by our costumers.
    The costumers dial the toll free number and the Internet service provider or SIP provider sends the call to our Lync pools. The call is cancelled a few seconds after it is initiated, sometimes 6 seconds, sometimes 9 seconds, sometimes 20 seconds or longer.
    We called the costumers and made sure that it was not the costumer who hung up the call.
    And we are also sure that an IP address outside our Lync pool sends the CANCEL request. Our system has been working well for a long time but the resent few months this kind of error happens almost everyday in the morning. When the error happens, some
    of the calls cannot get connected and some of the calls are good, but the load of the Lync pool, UCMA app pool is not heavy. A few minutes later, everything becomes normal, no error happens.
    How should we do the trouble shooting? Where should we focus on?  The SIP provider or Lync pool?

  • Cannot get email from Verizon servers thru Time Warner ISP

    I've had Verizon for many years until a move took us to California where it was not an option in our area.  I purchased the email addresses from Verizon 3 years ago.  Everything has worked fine until 2 weeks ago when my wife and myself cannot access our emails anymore using our home network.  If we log onto any other network it works great.  I've called both Time Warner and Verizon (which is a customer service story in itself)  twice a day for two weeks and have gotten nowhere.  Each blames the other but I still don't have email.  I've changed my router to get another ip address with the same result.  I've performed traceroutes which have ended with a verizon server but I can't get anyone at verizon to tell me if it is the email server or not.  I've tried whitelisting the ip address.  I've tried removing and reinstalling the verizon email account in my Macbook.  Nothing works!   Lots of threads of people with the same problem but I can't find a soulution.  PLEASE HELP!!

    Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
    Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. The title of your post is the link. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe". Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.

  • Cannot get connection on only one of several computers - WRT54G & WRT54G2

    Folks - there are two routers and four computers in this universe of mine. I am using either of these two routers only to split my signal (their wireless does not work because of the nature of the internet connection where I live - long story). Using both routers, three of these computers can connect to the internet on any port using any of the cables that I have. I have a single rebel - a Compac NX9010 running XP (as are the other machines). I have run IP config on this machine and get a reading for the router (192.168.1.100, naturally) but cannot get anything for the provider. I have gone through my network connections, and compared them visually (TCP/IP), etc, including the setting for the obtaining of an IP address automatically, and everything looks similar. Note that if I disconnect the router and run the internet's ethernet connection straight into the computer, it works fine. 
    Any help would be appreciated

    Which of the router is connected to the modem?
    If I understand you correctly, your internet setup looks like this?

    I would need more information regarding the exact issues you are experiencing when attempting to sign into the App Store to better assist you.  However, I would include a basic troubleshooting guide for issues connecting to the iTunes Store.
    Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
    Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General >Date & Time.
    Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
    Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General> Software Update (iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
    Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.

     try this one....
    Uninstall any remaining Hp printer program from your system..
    1. Click windows logo or start button- on the search box or run - type in %temp%, press enter
    2. look for the 7z folder on the TEmp folders.
    3. Open &z folder and look for util- open util look for ccc folder- open ccc folder loofk for uninstall3.
    4. Procedd to Uninstall level 3- restart the computer -go back to %temP% trhen delete tye 1st 7z folder-- to the same process for the remaining 7z folders- open util-ccc-uninstallL3- restart Pc and delete te 7z folder
    5. Once your'e done- go to add or remove programs or programs and features to uninstall remaining Hp printer software.. then restart you pc again..

    Click Start , and then click Run . The Run dialog box opens.
    In the Run dialog box, type msconfig , and then press Enter .
    If the User Account Control window opens with the message 'Windows needs your permission to continue ,' click Continue to close the window.

    I have just upgraded my iPad 2 to iOS 6. Everything is running perfectly well except for my emails. My primary email address is on Hotmail and the email app on my iPad is unable to connect itself to the server hence I cannot get any email. Which is really really frustrating and I have already missed a few important ones.
    If someone can please kindly give me a solution, I have already tried mannually turning on the SMTP servers but that didn't work either. A timely response will be highly appreciated.

    There may be settings in the hotmail account that you need to change. I know I had to manually tell it to allow me to delete mails on the device, but even then I have to delete it on every device I use to access the account

    I've received mail on my hotmail and I have iOS6, so I do think it's an issue with a specific device or account.

  • Changed password and still cannot get connected.

    I am trying to talk toa customer ervice agent....have done everything correctly and still thehchat box ill not come up.  Spent over 2 hours last night trying to connect to a friend in Canada...problem is there are 4 people with his same name....he ws told to change paswrrod and did but still we cannot gt connected...am extremely frustrated at this point!   This was supposed to be easy but it is far from it!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I think I may understand. There is no password from Adobe for getting an update. So, I think this is the computer's own administrator password, which you will need when you install most software. You chose it when you turned the computer on the first time. And if you forget it you have bigger problems than Adobe Reader.

    Its been like this for as long as I can remember. Ive had to resort to the ridiculous; to make a new folder I start an application say, Keynote & create a blank file, save as & make a new folder!@!!@!
    In Finder, like you I dont have a "New Folder" option when I right click, but when I go to the file menu, the "New Folder" option is grayed out..
    I would make a screen shot only I dont think I can post it!
    Any ideas ?

    Hi jogray40,
    If you using are PC Suite 6.8 try this:
    Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> Select 'Nokia PC Suite Solution' -> Change -> Repair. After that open Connection manager and check is it there.
    If that did not help try this: Click 'Start' -> 'Run' -> add command: regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\PCSuite\Transports\NclIVTBTMM.dll" . After that restart PC.
