Cannot instal any adobe reader

Hi there.
To the point.
I was trying to do my tax form when whole problem has started. First program asked to update adobe air to ver13 from 4. And it failed with a short message about error 0 and asking to try again with administrator rights.
I ve tried about 3-4 times with the same sign at the end. and due to that i wasnt able to update polish goverment tax plugin for adobe air, as it has ask for newer version of adobe air all the time.
But on their /ministry of finance/ website there is also a plugin for adobe reader allowing you to fill form in  reader and send it as ur tax return immeadetly. so i was trying to open various forms but adobe plugin for firefox wasnt able to open it. i ended up with document downloaded/opened in aprox. 5%-90% everytime.
there is a note about changing ur settings in firefox /from use adobe in firefox to use adobe reader/ but both of those never worked.
i was still able to open any other pdf on my pc /at least several those i ve tried to open were working/.
but i have decided to reinstall reader...
and after few tries i had to use adobe remover- finaly it was gone
in the meantime i have removed adobe air using microsoftfixit - normal ways were unable to remove it.
and now i m stuck with a note saying "Błąd 2203.Database: C:\Windows\Installer\1a82882.ipi. Cannot open database file. System error -2147287035." while i m trying to bring it back. Błąd = error.
no matter if outpost pro 9.0 is turned on or off, if i m using older or newest amd drivers, or trying to use full download version or the one from adobe website - it ends around 70% of the process with a note from above.
i ve tried both reader x/xi
its win7 with all updates on fujitsu ah lifebook ...
whats going on???

Hi again.
Yes i m aware that those 2 are totally different things made for different purposes, so  code used in both programs must be totally different. But for me, more important thing is that i cant use/install both of them when i need them (tax return in poland have to be send to proper tax office before 1st of may); they are both made by the same company so probably installer used in both works in similar fashion /air wasn't kind enough to show error code/ and it seems that i have some problems with that.
So maybe someone much wiser then me will be able to figured out whats going on or had a chance to see/know some sort of similar situation previously.
I'm not saying that all adobe products are broken /flash update went without problems/ but it might be something in my registry that is not able to receive some directions from that specific kind of installer /thats why i ve placed whole error message with error code/.
Other programs are fine - uninstalling firefox and installing 29 from mozilla installer went smooth...
Pat, i appreciate your effort to help, but  different version of basically the same installer doesn't change anything.
Program is already running, all files are unpacked and installing proces is already in motion. At aproximately 70% so nearly at the end that message appears and it ends telling me it wasnt done properly so i have to try again...
As i said before i have tried various sources to download it /6 so far to be exact/ and it always ends in the same manner.
Besides - just to let You know - Adobe still didn't make any official language pack /i m talking about polish one of course/ for version later then 11.0.1 so patching polish version to 11.0.6 will make it whole english .
edit: in an act of desperation i ve tried to install reader 9.5 but with the same ending....
during the weekend i ll try to dig depper in the registry - i think i wont screw it much more then it is right now... in the end i can always reinstall windows as TestScreen sugested

  • Cannot install updated Adobe Reader

I use Windows Vista, and when trying to update, received an error.  I uninstalled the version I had so I could install the latest version (X), but althoug it would download, it would not install.  Also I was unable to reinstall the earlier version that I had. The message received today says "download timeout" even though it has only been a matter of seconds. Any suggestions as to what the problem is & how I can correct it?

I work in Desktop Support for the Forest Service & I have found that sometimes when uninstalling an application that the un-install did not correctly remove the application from the computer. In those type of cases the Windows registry still has remnants of the application so when you try and re-install the application it won't install because of thos remnants (many times when you look in Control Panel--- Add/Remove Programs, it will appear that the progrm is not installed!)
You can use a tool provided by Microsoft to remove those remnants called msicuu2.exe I'm not sure where to get it, so just Google that name and you should be able to find it.
This tool will show all the applications currently installed as well as the application which is really only remnants in the registry. He will select ONLY Adobe reader in this utility and remove it (IF it appears as one of the applications which is in his computer). If Adobe Reader does NOT appear as one of the applications which can be removed then we have a differnt problem and need to proceed with further troubleshooting.

  • Cannot install new adobe reader- says old version still installed

Hi there, looking for a little help please.  An old version of adobe reader, 7.1 shows as installed on this computer so when I try and install a new version it gives me an error.  When I try to uninstall it via the windows add/remove programs, it says that it can't uninstall.  How can I get adobe reader 7.1 out of my system?  If I need to edit the registry to get it out of there, what changes need to be made?
    Thanks.

Thanks,  I was having a similar problem, and this solution took care of it.

  • I have increasing problems using Firefox to surf the net. I cannot install ANY Adobe product. I have no ability to see and hear ANY videos. Today I cannot access the Earthlink website, although I can on Internet Explorer.

I always get error message such as my plug-ins are disabled or I need the newer version of Adobe or Java programs. When I download and install them, they do not work and I get the same error messages.

I should have explained further. The game opens in a new window over to the upper left of my screen, leaving the original page underneath. I tried minimizing it so that I could get to my toolbar and did the View > Zoom > Reset. This has no effect. The lower portion of the game is still not showing. Using other browsers the window or frame of the game is much larger, therefore everything shows.

The error message reads " to open Adobe illustrator CS5.app, you need to install a JAva SE 6 runtime. Would you like to check and install one? I try to install but get the error" download error". As far as i know I'm using Adobe Java 7. None of my CS5 suite works anymore............and i really dont want to upgrade to a monthly cloud service fee as i hate this policy with a passion.

This goes for Dreamweaver CC on Mavericks!!!!! THANK YOU!
I couldn't launch Dreamweaver CC. An error told me to install "java se 6 runtime". But when I clicked  OK I got another error telling me there is a network problem! I found this forum post on CS6 products, so I tried the download link, installed java 6 and presto, it worked! Thanks!

: I have recently purchased a iBook G4 Mac OS X VERSION 10.5.6 and I  cannot install any apps such as firefox, adobe reader, it reads you cannot install this file on this disk

Are you saying the iBook G4 you have is running OS X 10.5.6?
The next file to get for it would be the Combo update 10.5.8 for Leopard.
And any old archived Flash player for 10.5.8 from Adobe flash site.
A browser such as TenFourFox, iCab, SeaMonkey-PPC, these are OK
but you won't be able to go past Leopard 10.5(.8) in a PowerPC Mac.
All these are free bits, however anything past 10.5.8 Mac OS X
would require a newer Mac with Intel-based architecture. Macs
made in 2006+ can see later OS X versions.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Adobe Reader won't open  Tried installing updated Adobe Reader and error came up in the process and told me to contact software manufacturer.  Could I uninstall current Adobe Reader and then try installing the current AR?  Any ideas?

My Adobe Reader wouldn't download tickets.  Tried opening Adobe Reader application but it would not open.  I saw my Adobe Reader needed to be updated, so I attempted to install new Adobe Reader.  When it came to finalizing, it said there is an error and can't do.  Any ideas?  I have no functioning Adobe reader.  Should I uninstall old Adobe Reader and then try installing the updated AR?

(Had to step away & do things) I can't even open up the Adobe Reader application to uninstall; get message it won't open. And now have more things needing to be downloaded to print.  Any ideas on how to open the app, so I can uninstall.  I have a MAC OS X 10.9.4  When the installation initially failed I received this message from Adobe, " Adobe Reader Installation Error  Package name Adobe Reader xi (11.0.07)  Installer: installing abase path/installer: The install failed  (The install encountered an error that caused the installation to fail.  Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.)  It did not specify what the error was

Successfully downloaded Reader on to my PC (Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit).    However, I cannot open any adobe documents,    Message indicates missing plug-ins. Please help... Thank you,

    Hey Joseph Curcio,
You might be viewing the PDFs in your browser only where Adobe Reader plug-in is disabled.
Please try opening the PDF file using Adobe Reader and then check.
Let me know in which browser are you trying to view the PDFs so that I can help you out enabling the required plug-ins.

  • Please HELP! i cannot open any Adobe PDF files anymore. i DL the new version XI and since no files h

Please HELP! i cannot open any Adobe PDF files anymore. i DL the new version XI and since no files have opened - so i recently uninstalled it and re-installed adobe reader 9 but i am having the same problem - no pdf files open and its really causing a problem as i can not open any work documents. please help

Three things to try (Reader XI)...
Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, then double-click on Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
It could even be a malware issue; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

  • Is there a 64 bit install for Adobe Reader?

    Hello,
I want to make a note that I did a search on the form, using the following text
"Is there a 64 bit install for adobe reader?"
And I did not find my answer.  That is why I'm posting this as a question.
So, with that out of the way....
I am getting ready to build a new computer for myself, and will be running Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit.  Before I begin, I want to make sure I have all of my software that I want installed, and I am doing research on each program to see if there is a 64 bit version that can be installed.  What I would like to do is have as many as my programs that I install be 64 bit as possible.  I know that not every program will be 64 bit, but I did want to get as many of them as possible to be 64 bit applications.
As I do want a PDF reader on my computer, and I have used Adobe Reader for years, I started looking on the web site to download the current version.  However, I did not see any place that I could download a 64 bit version of Adobe Reader.
That is why I'm here asking.  Is there a 64 bit version of Adobe Reader that I can download?  If so, where is it on the web site?
This does lead me to a follow up question.  Is there a 64 bit version of the Flash Player, as well as the Shockwave player?  If so, where can I download them from as well.
    Thanks in advance,

Again, I think you need to check the Microsoft web page, as I was able to find 64 bit versions of IE8 for download.
The URL to access the page is
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/downloads/ie-8
From that page, I am able to select a 64 bit version of IE 8 for the following Operating Systems
      -- Windows XP 64 Bit
      -- Windows Vista 64 Bit
      -- Windows Server 2003 64 Bit
      -- Windows Server 2008 64 Bit
Windows 7 is not listed as an option as it already comes with IE8 installed by default.
Looks to me that Microsoft has already released a 64 bit version of IE8.
In fact, I went ahead and downloaded IE8 for Windows 2003 Server x64 bit, and looked at the details of the file.  Each microsoft download has a digital signature associated with them, showing a date and time of when the exe was built.
According to what is shown below, IE8 for Windows Server 2003 has been around since Sunday, March 08, 2009.
So, what has adobe been doing since March of 2009?  IE8 has been 64 bit for well over 2 years now (it will be 3 in March of 2012). While I know that it does take time to develop new applications, I don't think it would take 3 years for Adobe to come up with a 64 bit version of Reader that could have been built under the 64 bit platform.

  • Why can't I open pdf's after install of adobe reader? Should I see it in system preferences?

Why can't I open pdf's after install of adobe reader? Should I see it in system preferences?

There are can be reasons PDFs cannot be opened. For example, some forms created with Lifecycle Designer cannot be opened.
Are you sure the file is a PDF? Can you open it in Adobe Reader or Acrobat on a Mac or PC? Does it give an error message when you try to open it?
