Cannot Install 10.1.3.4 on SuSE Linux

Hi, all.
Is 10.1.3.4 version supported on SuSE SLES 9? I can't install due to OUI error:

If I invoke runInstaller with -IgnoreSysPreReqs flag, nothing appears:

Any ideas?

I have not tried using Oracle Universal Installer to install ODI 10.1.3.4 on SuSE linux. But on any system not supported by OUI, you can use the manual install method
Basically, its just copying the entire oracledi folder to your system and modifying the ODI_JAVA_HOME environment variable.
For more details, browse to the helpfiles on your ODI download (\oracledi\doc\webhelp\en\index.htm) and search under "Manual Installation of ODI"

  • Unable to install Oracle Developer Suite 10 on SuSe Linux 11.0

    Hi all,
I have installed Oracle 11g on SuSe Linux 11.0 with no issues. I am unable to install Oracle Developer Suite10.12.02 on same (SuSe 11.0). The installation gets to about 94% and then fails with the following error:

    Hi Hub,
    Done that, nothing:
    $> env | grep -i LD

On the off-chance that it had something to do with installing Oracle 11.0 with ODS Developer 10.0, I've rolled my database installation back too, so now I have:
    Oracle 10.2.01
Oracle Developer Suite 10i (ODS 10.12.02)

  • Cannot install SDK 1.4 on Suse Linux 8.0

When I want to install the SDK 1.4 on Suse Linux 8.0 comes the error "bad interpreter, keine Berechtigung".
I typed in a console window "./j2sdk.... .bin". I tryed both versions, the rpm and the tar shell script and also as root.

That error appears to be along the lines of "bad interpreter, no authorization". (considering "Permission Denied") :-/ Possibly chmod +x the file(s) before running, or run the command "sh ./j2sdk.....bin".

  • Cannot install JMF under Linux Mandrake 10

I simply cannot install JMF under the Mandrake 10 Official Linux distribution. I downloaded the jmf-2_1_1e-linux-i586.bin file and tried to execute it as root. It unzipped some files then showed me an error message about AWT and GTK+. I found a hack consisting of modifying the .bin file to have the PATH variable point to SUN JDK, the error does not show up, but the installation still does not work. In fact, the installation works, but the Diagnostics applet keeps telling me than class files are not present. My Mozilla 1.6 Java plugin is working and displaying the applet. My JMF lib directory does not contain sound.jar, such jmf.jar. I set the CLASSPATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH according to the readme.html file. I would like to know if it is a compatibility problem with Mandrake 10, the 2.6 kernel or if JMF just DO NO work under Linux. In the latter case, JMF is a violation to the Java portability philosophy and I would never use it on my own initiative, just if I were asked to.
After the files are unzipped, I have the following warning and error messages.
    Warning:
    Name: HorScrollBar
    Class: XmScrollBar

scrollbar value minus the scrollbar slider size.

    Done.
Even if I do not have a working video capture card (I have an ATI All-in-Wonder 128 but it is not working under 2.6 kernel), JMF should work because some people do not have a video capture card. I also tried with the cross-platform ZIP file, but this one does not contain sound.jar either and the Diagnostics applet keeps complaining about missing class files. I tried to search on the Web for solutions to this problem or for a way to change the CLASSPATH used by the Mozilla Java plug-in (if it uses a different CLASSPATH than the one from the environment variable), but nothing, nothing. Is there a distribution from which JMF would work better than Mandrake 10? Or can JMF work only under Microsoft Windows or Sun Solaris? I also tried Blackdown, but a README file directed me to the Sun's page, nothing to download here about JMF.

well, your not the only one.
I have it working in Debian, and JDS.(JMF is setup automatically in JDS).(2.6.6 kernel)
I looked at the installation structure of JDS, and was able to duplicate what they did for Debian.
Maybe it will work for Mandrake two??
ok, all you have to do is copy or create soft links from your Mozilla directory, just like you did with the java plugin, and link to all the *.so files in JMF-2.1.1e/lib directory.
    Should work.
I also read that not haveing the native files only matters if you are doing Capture. not play.
to get your ATI All-in-Wonder 128 to work, make sure you install the correct driver, and have it working under linux, then try it in JMSTUDIO

  • Can't install Oracle on SuSE Linux 9.3 Pro

    Hi,
i try since three weeks to install Oracle 9.2 Release 2. My last Problem was,
that i didn't know how to log in as the created Oracle User. This Problem is solved.
But when i install Oracle as the Oracle User and try to configure the Administrator
Group, i get the error, that i don't have the specific permission to change that,
so i gave the Oracle User all Rights about every directory (chown oracle:dba / ).
After that the Installation proceed without any problem, but after the Installation,
the Database Configuration Assistant failed to install and two other Assistants, too.
So, i don't know where there problem is. I fulfilled every pre-installation Task, but
it still isn't possible for me, to install Oracle 9.2 on a SuSE Linux 9.3 Professional
    System.
If anyone could help me along this Installation, i would be very thankful.
    Thanks a lot
    Daniel

But when i don't give the oracle user all rights, it isn't possible to proceed with theinstallation
But if you give that rights then it's a security hole. According to your words I guess you have similar enviroment settings:
    ORACLE_BASE=/
    ORACLE_HOME=/<directory_name>
Why you not installing on deeper directory such as /opt or some your own directory? For example
    ORACLE_BASE=/myoracledir
    ORACLE_HOME=$ORACLE_BASE/<directory_name>
    Then chown -R oracle:dba /myoracledir.
Then oracle will be owner just for /myoracle directory and all its subdirectories.
i just could look at the error details, but they didn't described the erroranyway.
That's not so true. Error log you could find in /tmp/OraInstallYYYY-MM-DD_HH_MI_SS..

  • Oracle9i Installation on SuSe Linux 7.3 Professional Edition

    Hi,
I'm trying to Install Oracle 9i Database server on SuSe Linux 7.3 Professional Edition. I have gone throgh the Oracle 9i release notes for the Linux version. In the release notes document, in the OS Software Requirement section ( the following statement is mentioned as below ):
"The following executables must present in the /usr/bin directory : make, ar, ld, nm"
But after the Linux insalltion I found that only make executable is present and other doesn't. My doubt is, if I continue with the Oracle Installtion without these files does the installer cause any problems? If so how do I get these executables, as these executables doesn't exist in the "Software Installation" listing of SuSe 7.3 Professional edition?
Another doubt is, Does SuSe 7.3 Professional edition suitable for Oracle 9i Database server? I checked the Kernal version, it seems to be OK.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance

  • 8.1.7 installation fails on Suse Linux 7.0 with libjox8oracle_jpub_c.so error

I'm trying to install Oracle 8.1.7 on Suse Linux 7.0 (with glibc 2.1.3).
However, while runnning universal installer, I get the following error messages:
"Error in writing to file /opt/oracle/product/8.1.7/javavm/admin/libjox8oracle_jpub_c.so"
    and (later):
    "I/O error in file /opt/oracle/product/8.1.7/jis/install/ncomp_so_full_orb.jar"
When trying to link the Oracle components, the installer produces:
"Error in invoking target utilities of makefile /opt/oracle/product/8.1.7/rdbms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk"
After installation is finished, some Oracle utilities can't be started.
E.g., svrmgrl fails and I can't create a database instance.
What's going wrong here? I tried to reinstall Oracle several times, but this
behaviour is reproducible. Yes, I unset LANG, and set all necessary environment
variables. Any ideas would be really helpful!

    Hi:
I am experiencing the same problem. I followed the installation instructions to the dot, but found that the universal installer (UI) (java based) fails at the very beginning.
I'm still trying to install. However, as per the installation instructions, I didn't install Java. So the UI is only running on the runtime version that comes with the CD.
If I make any progress these days, I will post the solution...

  • How to download 64 bit JDK for SUSE Linux 10.2 x86_64 Machine

    Hi SAP Guru's
We are in the process of Installing SAP Netweaver SR3 on the suse linux 10.2 on the x86_64 Machine.
We are unable to findout compatable jdk whcih will support this plateform.
Please suggest where from we can download JDK.

    Hi,
You can download and install it using YaST (Software/Software Management) in Suse 10.2.
You can install the Java packages with YaST. If you choose Filter "Search" and enter "Sun" you'll quickly find them.
Suse only supports up to 1.5 if you want 1.6 you must get it from the Java site.
You can also search around this following FTP Link.

  • Problem with installing Oracle 10g on Suse Linux

    Hi everybody!
I downloaded Oracle 10g Express from this url:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/xe/htdocs/102xelinsoft.html
it is free version for developers.
I copied it into computer where was installed Suse Linux Enterprise Edition.
But when I run it shows this kind of error:
error: rpmReadSignature failed: region failed: BAD, tag 15872 type 2047 offset 20480 count 4096
    error: oracle-xe-univ-10.2.0.1-1.i386.rpm cannot be installed
It was downloaded without any problem. But checksum is different from that shown on website. I think this is the problem.
What is the problem? Does anybody know answer?
    Regards,
    Seti's fiction

Yes, you appear to have a bad copy.
I have not had a problem when the check sum matched. Therefore I encourage you to download again.

I found another thread in this forum where you can look up how to extend your swap space (look at the bottom of that thread):
re:Out of swap space during 9iAS install.
I am very new to Linux, I am very much disappointed,
I installed Linux with lots of hopes that I can
Install Oracle tools easily on Linux and work
comfortably. Now If I cannot intall a small database
Oracle XE, even with 1GB Ram and 25GB harddrive on
Linux, I don't realize why people run for Linux.
I could Oracle XE on windows on a machine with 512
mb ram in 4 minutes.Maybe you should take into consideration that you are not so "new" to windows and that each new system has a learning curve.
Someone please help.. in detail. How to resize the
swap partition at this point.Look in the provided link.
I have very limitted or no knowldge in Linux.Maybe you should change that or stay with what you know. I don't see any other way ...
As a sidenote, each command under Linux does have a so called "man" page (from manual). You also need to open a shell to access those commands as shown in the thread.
And please, take a look at the commands in that thread before you start implementing, since for example the dd command seems only to create a file with a size of 512M.
Knowing how to use a search engine would also be a valuable asset in your current position.
    C.
