Cannot make new notes in mail

Hello I can't make new notes in Mail.
The last thing I could do with notes was making a note and pasting a screenshot .png in it. When I wanted to open that note it kept loading for ever. I deleted all notes I had because none of them would load, but that made no difference.
Situation now is:
The button is visible but won't work, trying to create a new note via "archive>new note" doesnot work either.
I followed suggestions from other threads on this topic:
• rebuilded all my postboxes - no result
• resetted my mobile me sync settings - no result
• deleted my rss feeds in mail - no result
My colleague has the same problem, what we have in common is we both use iphones synced with mobile me, and received rss feeds in mail (I deleted this function in mail to check if thats the problem - but that didn't make a difference).
Stays the iphone-syncing or something else I am not aware of.
Has anyone a suggestion?

I noticed this problem with Notes being inaccessible on my Macs a few weeks ago and just now took the time to track down the reason. Thanks to everyone on this thread, in particular PlanetLingo and M1CH43L.
It seems that iOS 4.3 added a new default font for Notes called "Noteworthy." I think the problem arrises for those of us who sync iOS devices and our Macs through MobileMe and include Notes and Preferences in the sync. I think the font switch and subsequent sync of Preferences cause the Mac to default to a font it doesn't have, which then causes all the problems.
Quck fix: Change the Notes preference on your iOS devices to use one of the alternate fonts: Helvetica or Marker Felt. As long as the one you choose is available on our Macs, the problem should go away.
A search of the web doesn't reveal an Apple version of Noteworthy available for the Mac. If anyone finds one, please post here. Thanks.

Cannot read or create any new Notes in Mail

As per previous post, my 4 out of 6 notes from my iPhone synced with Mail some months ago (since 3.1 OS uprade).
BUT, I've never been able to open those Notes, or even create new Notes in Mail on my Mac. To Do's seem to be ok, but not Notes.
Managed to setup MobileMe Mail on Mail on my Mac now too (refused all yesterday). I'm also bringing in Hotmail there too.
Any ideas?

Try this - find the /Library/Preferences folder in your user/Home folder and then locate and delete this file:
com.apple.mail.plist
*Caution* - doing this may clear your account settings to be sure to note those first in the event you are required to reconfigure, etc.
And be sure to verify/repair permissions using Disk Utility (/Applications/Utilities folder)

I cannot make new purchases on Newsstand

The application does not allow me to make any new purchase. It suddenly stopped recognizing my Apple ID. I can still view old purchases with my Apple ID but I cannot make new ones. This is driving me crazy ! Has anybody come across this and do you know how to overcome the issue ? Thanks.

There are a couple things that I would recommend trying. Try closing all open applications and power cycle the device. Next, go through the section labeled Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in the second article below. If the issue persists, try completely signing out of the iTunes Store on the iOS device and sign back in. Be sure to test downloading the item in Newsstand after each step.

You could also consider gradually making the new email address your future one thus eliminating the need to be always forwarding and thus creating duplicates in a sense. You might want to try these steps:
-> Clear Cookies & Cache
• https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Template:clearCookiesCache
-> Clear the Network Cache
-> Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
• Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
• Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
• Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
Check and tell if its working. Hope that helps.

Cannot establish new Rules in Mail 7.3

For at least the last 6 months when I try to set up new Rules in Mail, they don't stay. The old ones I set up >6 months ago always appear to work, but if I define a new rule and apply it immediately it works,but next time I open Mail it is gone from the list of Rules.
Any suggestions for how to fix this? I like to filter some incoming messages into certain mailboxes using Rules but can no longer do this because new Rules have become ephemeral

How to make new stationary in Mail

Hi there. I am trying to make a new mail template to send out some company info. I understand the principal of creating an email then >save as Stationary but I can only put images left center or right. I would like to create something close to the stationary supplied in Mail with photo place holders, text boxes and a background.
I would really appreciate some help with this if possible.

if you already have the account on your mac, it will sync/create it on your iPhone.
If you want to create one maually on the iPhone, do this:
Go to Settings/Mail/ then click on ADD Account..... follow the instructions/input your username data, etc.

Since updating to FF 3.6.12 on my iMac, I have lost all my bookmarks, cannot make new bookmarks and cannot import from a saved bookmarks.html file, even after re-installing the program.

Running under mac OS X 10.5.8
Menu bar is present
Torbutton extension not present
Navigation buttons did not work, until I re-isntalled FF
FF "unable to restore backup file "- applies to all bookmark backup files
I next tried importing the bookmarks.html file I created last year to export them to my new notebook. 3.6.12 fails to import them back again.
The home page set in my preferences does not now come up when I load FF.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Make sure that you not run Firefox in permanent [[Private Browsing]] mode.

Cannot activate new account in Mail, random misfuncioning. Reinstall Mail?

I am not able to activate a new POP account in Mail (I already have 1 POP and 1 .Mac active accounts). Other Mac with identical software has no problem at all....!
Maybe too many emails, or just the Mail software is corrupted.
Do I need to reinstall Mail? How to do it without loosing precious emails in memory?

I'm having the same problem at work. I'm starting to suspect it is an issue with 10.4.8.
Up until yesterday I could start new accounts, but they couldn't receive mail. Today I can't install a new account at all.
I can set up Exchange accounts, however, through Mail.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Has any of this been tried?

My "top sites" no longer display and I cannot make new ones appear. Why?

I used to have Top Sites capability where my favorite websites were displayed as icons on one page so I could easily click the icon and go to that page. New Note in Mail not working. Evernote killed it?

EverNote hijacked the keyboard shortcut (CMD-CTRL-N) from Mail. I am attempting to restore the shortcut to mail. I have even gone so far as to remove EverNote and all it's support/library files to no avail. How do I restore the CMD-CTRL-N keyboard shortcut and keep it away from EverNote?

The icon you describe is the Archive icon, which replaces the trash icon for other mail types. Even though the item you use this on will be removed from the Inbox view, it will still be available in the All Mail view. You will notice that there is no delete in gmail, until you go into the All Mail folder. In the All Mail folder, the Archive Icon is replaced by the Trash Can icon.
This functionality has been on the iPhone for a little while now. I think it works pretty well. It lets you get things out of view, without totally deleting them. They will still be available if you select All Mail from the gmail accounts link. They are also available online in the All Mail folder.
The icon is actually a picture of a record archival box, just like the real ones used to archive documents for storage. Some folks may not recognize it in this paperless day in age.
You will notice that when you are in your unified inbox, the icon will change back and forth between the archival box and a trash can, depending on which message you are on. When on an exchange email, I see the trash can. When on a gmail email, I see the archival box.

Crystal Reports 10 - Cannot make new report

I am having problems creating a report in Crystal Reports 10. I have the same settings in the OBDC as another machine. Theirs is working properly. I can refresh but cannot create a new report. We are currently connected to the AS/400 system.
