I downloaded J2SDK1.4.2_04Netbeans bundle OK.However when I double-click folder to open & install the image of the folder merely "flickers"!
Will be grateful for any advice.

I suggest that you d/l just Java, install it, then go to Netbeans sithe and d/l and install it.
I have no idea as to what the problem you're having is.

  • Cannot open a downloaded pdf file..."The file couldn't be opened because it isn't in the correct format."

I have had this problem several times lately: I cannot open a downloaded pdf file. The error message reads: "The file couldn't be opened because it isn't in the correct format." But, of course, it is a pdf file.

My MacBook Pro (2.5 Ghz Intel Core i5) is running OS X 10.9.4. Here is what happens when reading an online user manual that I want to save to the Desktop and read later as a PDF file on my iPad or phone. With Safari I will select "Export As PDF" and the file shows up on the desktop. Even after multiple trials, there will be a dialogue box indicating the file cannot be opened. If I check the file info, the size is "zero." Trying to save the file as a pdf using the Print menu yields the same results. I have tried both of these methods using Preview, Adobe Reader, and PDF Pen Pro. This strange behavior also occurred several weeks ago and I finally abandoned the effort. But when the same thing happens twice, it becomes an issue that needs to be resolved.

  • Since upgrading my Mac OS X from 10.6.8 to 10.8 and 10.9, I cannot open newly downloaded pdf files.  Please help!  Thanks.

    Hi,
Since upgrading my Mac OS X from 10.6.8 to firstly, 10.8 and then, 10.9, I have not been able to open new pdf files on either Preview or Acrobat Reader.
I can still open previously downloaded pdf files but not new ones.
I can still open new pdf files online.  However, when I save a pdf to my computer, I cannot open them anymore.
I upgraded to 10.8 a couple of weeks ago and then accepted a free upgrade to Maverick (10.9) this morning.  I was hoping that by upgrading to Maverick, I would be able to open pdf files again but alas, that is not the case.
I really need to open pdf files as a matter of urgency as I do this on a daily basis.  I am not a computer whizz so if anyone can help find a simple yet effective solution to my problem, that would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

When I try to open a downloaded pdf file, I receive this message:
"It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize."
Yet, when I try to open pdf files downloaded whilst still using Mac OS X 10.6.8, they open as normal.  So what is the problem, please?
I have deleted Adobe Reader and re-installed it.  Yet, it follows the same pattern as above.  The same is true of Preview.  It's really frustrating because it means I can only open new pdf files using Safari (so I have to be online to do this).  I need to be able to open pdf files when I'm offline as well.
    Thanks.

  • Cannot open recent downloaded files from my Nikon camera. Elements 12

I just downloaded pictures from my camera and cannot open them in organizer.  It immediately goes to searching missing files in another hard drive from the one designated.  When I manually go to the actual area where I have the pictures and try to "find" them, I get a message that they are already there. While that is no suprise in and of itself, what is going on???  I have tried to restore catalogs and repair catalogs to no avail.  Win 7 64 bit system.  Other pictures  I have loaded are fine.

I found the solution in a Light Room forum.  The problem was I was using an older version of View NX2 to transfer the files. I uninstalled that version and installed the version supplied with the D3200. The files now load into Elements 11 with no problem. Apparently the old version affects the content of  the NEF files, as Elements was not able to recognize them, and gave an error message that the files were from an unsupported camera.
Thanks for looking into this, Don Rieser

  • HT2311 I cannot open the download for iTunes, it seems to be frozen. I get that small screen with the read first and the installer and it doesn't respond to my clicking

trying to download and install iTunes 11 and though it downloads I cannot open it, seems to be frozen, thoughts?

Many thanks diesel.  I cannot remember ever having an administrator password. Looks like I shall have to do a restore on my PC and not bother with the updates.  Or maybe I could find my password from somewhere ? When I went into control panel I found a box with administrator and my name and it said password protected so I must have had one at some time. Any ideas on how I could find it ? Many thanks anyway. I always use a password to sign on but obviously that is not it.  Eileen

  • I cannot open a download

    I cannot open a download

That.... really doesn't tell us much. We're good, but I personally am severely lacking when it comes to psychic abilities.
What is it you're attempting to download?
    What is your OS?
    What is your browser?
Are you seeing any error messages?

  • I am trying to upload a downloaded pdf file, but cannot open the downloaded files

I am trying to open 2 downloaded pdf files (ticketmaster tickets) from 4/23/11 so that I can upload them to stubhub.com and sell them. I can't even open a pdf file that I downloaded today? Plus, the pdf files are not being saved in my download file on my C disk as I have specified. Any suggestions?

I am 99.9% certain that all pages were uploaded. You can confirm this by downloading it and checking to see that it's all there.
The problem is that the file previewer within Workspaces.acrobat.com only displays the first 50 pages.
You might try our other file storage service at files.acrobat.com. The previewer there displays all pages of uploaded PDFs.

  • Cannot find profile...cannot open newly downloaded thunderbird

download Thunderbird...get the message cannot find profile" and Thunderbird won't open, just shows the cannot find profile messae.
    I uninstall, download again T
The download previously uninstalled shows in the list of programs (3 now) and I get the same message each time.

do you have anything in a Thunderbird profile to save? I assume not and this advice will completely remove everything so you can install again.
in your start menu type %appdata%\roaming and press enter.
Delete the Thunderbird folder in the windows explorer window that opens
    Rerun the Thunderbird installer.

  • Cannot open/install lightroom 5.5

I have a problem with updating my adobe lightroom 5 to 5.5. I have bought a new camera (nx3000) with lightroom 5 in the box. From the cd everything works, but I can't update it to 5.5.
I download the file and get an error that it cannot unpack the file. I tried to open it as administrator, re-download the installation file and tried it with compatibility windows 7. Nothing helps.... I need the update to open my RAW files.

  • Cannot open PDFs downloaded from internet

For past two months, many (but not all) PDFs cannot be opened after being saved.
The message is Adobe Reader could not open 'Worlds Most Competitive Cities IBM 2013.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
What is a fix that a layman can do?
    Jerry Hultin

    Hi
A Mike M tipped me that this is a Safari problem.   He had me eliminate two
Safari plug-ins related to Adobe.  The problem is fixed!
    Thanks for trying to help.
    Here's his full message:
    This is a Safari problem
    Go to: Mac HD/Library/Internet Plugins
Trash the AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin files
    Empty the Trash.
Relaunch Safari and you can download PDFs with no errors.
    All the best,
    Jerry

  • Hi. Downloads has changed; I cannot open or download attachments. I don't get the window that asked "Open" or "Save" either.

When I receive an attached document (Word or OpenOffice), I click on it. I get a Norton Antivirus window that says it's clear and I click on the yellow Download button. Then nothing happens. 1. I don't get the windows that asked Open? or Save?. 2. The documents are not in the Download folder. 3. I reset the downloads to my Documents folder - nothing appears there either. 4. I search my iMac with the file names, and no results show up.

    Hi carrieinholland-
I would recommend reading this Support article on troubleshooting Opening/Download issues:
    [[Managing file types]]
    Hope that helps.

  • I cannot open files downloaded with the easy youtube downloader add-on

I am trying to get video clips from youtube so i can edit them together to make my own videos. using the easy youtube downloader add-on, i saved the videos to an mp4 format, after the video is downloaded, when i attempt to open it, all the player say that it is not a comptable file format (eventhough the save says .mp4) or the codec is unsupported, what can i do to support the codec, or obtain the videos in a fashion i can use them?

    Which player are you using?
A program like VLC or MPlayer is capable of playing a lot of media files.
