Cannot Remove Failed 2 Site System Servers

Good Afternoon All -
While setting up a fairly new SCCM (2012 Sp1 CU1) environment, there were a few things that were not done correctly.  I recently started and am trying to get them figured out.  I have two site servers which I cannot remove from SCCM.  Below
is their status as well as what I've tried...
Site Server Issue #1
Site Code L56 - The server was a secondary server but for whatever reason has been taken offline and no longer exists without performing an uninstall first.  It is listed in SCCM Sites as "Deleting"
After research, I opened regedit, and browsed to HKML\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\Components\SMS_COMPONENT_MANAGER where i saw a key with the site server's name in it.  I changed the value "Deinstallation Start Time" to "1" in the key
as well as sub keys (2 more values) using
these instructions.  I restarted the SMS_COMPONENT service, and then loaded up the console, but it was still there.  Back in the registry, though, the key was completely gone.
I also tried to use preinst.exe.  When I run the string "preinst /delsite L56", I get "Cannot find site [L56] in the site control data in the database. Checking in ServerData in the database."  What gives?
Site Server Issue #2
There was a site server which was a secondary site - however - it wasn't working correctly and we were on a dead line so this past weekend i uninstalled it as a secondary site, verified / installed pre-reqs, then simply deployed a distribution point and
management point role to it.
Now, I'm trying to turn it back into a secondary site which is installed properly.  I deleted the site roles which I could (seemingly successfully as the DP shares and services are gone from the server.) In the console, I go to delete the site server,
itself, but get the error saying it cannot be deleted because it contains site system roles (and lists Component Manager.)
I thought to try preinst.exe for this one also, but it has the same Site Code as our Primary Site Server.
Both servers are running Windows Server 2012  & SQL 2012.
Any Ideas?  Thanks!
Ben K.

Similar Issue. Have a child site that is showing "Deleting" in the SCCM console. Used preinst.exe, but it states:
"Cannot find site [S01] in the site control data in the database. Checking in ServerData in the database.[S01]
is not a known site."
How do I get rid of the child site in the SCCM console, and when I do, would it be safe to set up another child site with the same name and site?

  • Automatic Client Push not working - Site System Servers

Having an issue getting automatic site-wise client push to work when only
having "Configuration Manager site system servers" selected.  This was turned on after discovery was enabled and fully executed.
SCCM 2012 R2 CU1, Single Primary Site Server, 2 Management Points (one on primary and second is standalone), with 5 DP's (currently), SQL is standalone.
The site systems are within the IP range boundaries and show as assigned (i.e. site code showing in console of object).  The boundaries are in a boundary group with site assignment selected, and a DP added.  When I view the object properties I
see its returning the correct IP that does fall withing the IP range boundary.
Nothing in the ccm.log indicating its ever trying to install the client and the ccr and ccrretry folders are empty.  I can do a manual client push without issue to a site server object or a discovered desktop/laptop object.
Is there something I may be missing here?  And does anyone know the interval in which SCCM should be creating ccr records for discovered objects that don't have a client?

Thanks or the quick replies everyone.  To answer Idan's questions, no errors in log or component status and SQL is not clustered.
John, I hope this isn't the case.  If it were wouldn't that effectively mean you would not be able to enabled discovery until you are ready to turn on auto client push?  And if you did that you would have no way to control the client roll out.
Maybe I am missing something in that equation.  I'll test that theory regardless but if that ends up being the case that is alarming!  :-)
Jason, thanks for the tip on the potential bug.  Was really more so hoping to validate automatic client push rather than actually needing it for my site system servers.  So if it is the issue you reference above hopefully its just contained to
the site system servers.  Would be nice to be able to select automatic client push to just a collection of devices prior to turning it on for site wide deployment.
I guess I could always just turn off discovery temporarily and delete all but some test clients, enable client push for workstations, then once validated, turn it back off and re-enable discovery.  (wouldn't turn push back on until most clients are
deployed on the roll out schedule)

  • "Site System Status Summarizer still cannot access storage object" after DB Move

After our SCCM server was up and running, the DBAs moved the SQL Site Database to a new drive which is a supported SQL Operation according to this Support document:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2709082
Using the methods described by the above document we were able to restore functionality to SCCM but I am still seeing Informational messages in the SMS_SITE_SYSTEM_STATUS_SUMMARIZER component.
Site System Status Summarizer still cannot access storage object "\\<SQLServer>\S$\SMS_<SQLServer>" on site system "\\<SQLServer>". The operating system reported error 67: The network name cannot be found.
Possible cause: The site system is turned off, not connected to the network, or not functioning properly.
Solution: Verify that the site system is turned on, connected to the network, and functioning properly.
Possible cause: Site System Status Summarizer does not have sufficient access rights to connect to the site system and access the storage object.
Solution: Verify that the accounts are properly configured to allow the site to connect to the site system and access the storage object.
Possible cause: Network problems are preventing Site System Status Summarizer from connecting to the site system.
Solution: Investigate and correct any problems on your network.
Possible cause: You took the site system out of service and do not intend on using it as a site system any more.
Solution: Remove the site system from the list of site systems used by this site; this list appears under Site Systems in the Configuration Manager Console.
Possible cause: You accidentally deleted the storage object or took the storage object out of service.
Solution: The components will eventually detect that the storage object no longer exists on the site system and will either recreate it or choose a new storage object. Monitor the status messages reported by other site components to verify that this
    occurs properly.
The storage object has been inaccessible since "14/03/2015 1:23:20 AM". When you correct the problem and Site System Status Summarizer successfully accesses the storage object, Site System Status Summarizer will set the storage object's status
to OK, providing that the storage object has sufficient free space.
I have run a site reset to try and fix this but the site server still seems to be trying to access files on the old drive. Is there a method to get SCCM to start looking for these files on the NEW DB drive (H$) in my case?

Was a site reset performed at all yet? This has to be done.
    Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de
Yes, I tried a site reset prior to making this post. I was sure I had read that this should resolve the issue but unfortunately it seems a site reset did not resolve the issue.
Since we are running a virtualized environment, is it possible the old drive has to still exist prior to running the site reset? If we add a small "S" drive back to the server and run the site reset again, might that help?

  • Site Component Manager failed to reinstall this component on this site system

Site Component Manager failed to reinstall this component on this site system.
Solution: Review the previous status messages to determine the exact reason for the failure. Site Component Manager will automatically retry the reinstallation in 60 minutes. To force Site Component Manager to immediately retry the reinstallation, stop and
restart Site Component Manager using the Configuration Manager Service Manager.

I concur with Vik, sitecomp.log records details about the maintenance of the installed site components on all site system servers in the site.

Symptom: When you install Reporting Service Point role on a Site System Server running SQL Server

This implies that ODP.NET does NOT need to be installed on a client. However, I cannot find OraOPs9.dll on a machine with Client Release 9.2 installed. Should OraOps?.dll automatically come with a Client installation of 9.2 or higher?
ODP.NET needs to be installed on the client. OraOps9.dll is part of ODP.NET, not the Oracle Client.
Also, if an application is built with the 10g ODP.NET, can it be run from a machine with OraOps9.dll?
If an application is built with 10g ODP.NET, it can be run with 9.2 ODP.NET as long as you do not use any 10g APIs. The new features in 10g ODP.NET are included in the doc and the ODP.NET FAQ for your reference.

  • Load report Failed, COMExpection: System cannot find the path specified

    Interesting problem:
I have an application that runs on a web server (currently running it as simple test application to make solving this easier). We use a BO XI report to load data from the DB via a stored proc, then run an ExportToStream to get CSV data to return to the caller.
It all works well as long as I run the application under the NT Account logged into the Box (W2k3, R2). But when using a different account (it's a domain admin account), it fails with the following error:
System.Exception: Load report Failed. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80004005): The system cannot find the path specified.
    at CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ClienDoc.ReportClientDocumentClass.Open(Object& DocumentPath, Int32 Options)
    at CyrstalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument.Load(String filename, OpenReportMethod openMethod).
The report is located on a file drive the openMethod is OpenReportByTempCopy. The Temp directory for the user (landes) exists on the box, all things seem to be in place.
Anybody know that path is specified and how to overcome this?
    Thanks

Will it be possible to check this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACINE\SOFTWARE\Suite 11or11.5\Report Application Server\InprocServer\LocalConnectionMgr and verify if the ConnectionDirectoryPath is set to something like C:\ ?
If not, set to C:\ and see how it goes after running your app.

Hello, if those Question marks are in the Dock, it means OSX can't find them either.
Right click on the Q mark & choose Remove from Dock, might be Roght click or click, then Options>Remove from dock on later OSX versions.
Sometimes you can just drag it of the Dock, or CMD +drag it off.

  • Site System Status Error Message on SiteStat.log : SQL statement with Incorrect Syntax

    Hi Folks,
We are getting the below system status error in the primary servers site status log (SiteStat.log) every minute. It relates to the updating of a secondary site.
I have worked out where the SQL syntax is wrong (TimeReported=,) and that it more than likely relates to the day light saving settings last weekend on the secondary sites virtual's host which caused the secondary site server time to go way
into the future, this has now been fixed.
Is there anyway of removing/deleting this system status/SQL query?  I have restarted Primary, Secondary and SQL server, to no avail.

  • Cannot remove a sync group and provisioning never stops

I try to remove my sync group in Azure DataSync , but get a message "Cannot remove this sync group because one or more databases are currently provisioning, re-provisioning, de-provisioning, canceling sync or synchronizing. TracingId=cc4af9b5-f6c5-2ca9-9412-acbaee44f87b"
My sync group is Sync Group ID: b9dfb07f-5415-487d-a6c7-c7caccf473b8_East / Subscription ID: 31e2bcf5-8078-4bf3-8898-ba771ea860ac
And before I try to remove it, it has a trouble that Provisioning never finishes.
The provisioning was adding reference new servers and the provisioning is continuing for more than 10 days.
While removing the sync group, I had deleted all reference database other than the hub database, and applied DeprovisioningUtil.exe to the hub database.
In the sync group, all databases were Azure SQL.  The sync group didn't use sync agent.
The hub database seems to have no tables relating datasync like as "_dss" or "_traking" after I applied DeprovisioningUtil.exe.
I had no more idea to do other than waiting, any other ideas?
    Best regards,

    Hi Kamiyn,
Regarding to the error message and your description, it seems that you tried to remove sync group failed , I assume you only have one sync group, when you used DeprovisioningUtil tool, you should manually clean up all objects by running the deprovisioning
utility from the same folder where the Data Sync Agent gets installed.
Here is a similar issue about this error, you can refer to the post.

  • Add Site System Roles (Management Point)

To resolve an issue I was having with the management point role I have removed it.
I left it for an hour and then restarted the server and the role had been removed. When I tried to re-add the role the option is greyed out. I believe this is due to the Server being the primary site but am finding it hard to get any definitive answer on
    how to re-add the role.
Currently my site has no management point.
My question is HOW DO I RE-ADD THE ROLE OF "MANAGEMENT POINT"?
Will the configuration management setup wizard allow me to do this, whilst retaining the current roles and config?

I thought it was a permissions issue at first to. Signed into the server with the service account used to install SCCM and also explicitly named my domain account as a local admin despite me being a domain admin. Furthermore, I have access to remove the
roles from the server and permission to add and remove roles to all other servers.
    Adding role
In management console Administration>Site Configuration>Servers and Site System Roles
This bring up the list of servers and when left clicked their roles. I right click on the server in question and the option to "add site system roles" is greyed out as are the sub-options under start and the option to delete.
Will screen shot in the morning

Cannot remove this sync group because one or more databases are currently provisioning,
    re-provisioning, de-provisioning, canceling sync or synchronizing. TracingId=fe9d220c-56c7-791f-ac0f-ea26989e02a1
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to delete the failed SyncGroup from Azure?

    Hi jstevenson72,
How about using the DeprovisioningUtil tool? With DeprovisioningUtil tool , you can manually clean up all objects by running the deprovisioning utility from the same folder where the Data Sync Agent gets installed.
Besides any of the following can result in a failure to delete a sync group.
    • The client agent is offline. Be sure that the client agent is online then try again. Reference :
    SQL Data Sync Troubleshooting Guide.
    • The client agent is uninstalled or missing.
If the client agent is uninstalled or otherwise missing:
    1. Remove agent XML file from the SQL Data Sync (Preview) installation folder if the file exists.
    2. Install the agent on same/another on-premise computer, submit the agent key from the portal generated for the agent that’s showing offline.
    • The SQL Data Sync (Preview) service is stopped.
    1. In the Start menu, search on Services.
    2. Click Services in the Programs section of the search results.
    3. Find the SQL Data Sync (Preview) Preview service.
    4. If the service status is Stopped right-click the service name and select Start from the dropdown menu.
    • A database is offline.  Check your SQL Database and SQL Server databases to be sure they are all online.
    • The sync group is provisioning or synchronizing. Wait until the provisioning or synchronizing process finishes then retry deleting the sync group.
And for Azure issues, I would like to recommend you post the question in the Azure SQL Database forum at
https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/azure/en-US/home?forum=ssdsgetstarted. It is appropriate and more experts will assist you.
