Cannot Stop Job

Hi,
I'm running a SQL 2005 SP 2 on Windows 2003 Server R2.
I have a Job that includes a IS Package and then conducts a lot of calculations of which one runs into an infinite loop.
The problem now is, that I can't stop the job. If i try it sp_stop_job procedure returns success, but in the activity monitor the job is still running, and restart the job returns that the job is already running
(SQLServerAgent Error: Request to run job xxx refused because the job is already running... (Microsoft SQL Server, Eror: 22022)
It helped to restart the Server Agent, but this is not a proper solution as other user work on this database as well, so how can i kill the job without restarting the agent?

Although killing the SPID will solve the "infinite" loop issue for that instance, shouldn't you figure out under what conditions the infinite loop is occurring and try to mitigate the possibility of the infinite loop from occurring?
Do you have an idea of the circumstances that cause the package to go into an infinite loop?

Hi Experts,
WE have this warning in pretty much every job in production. But the warnings are not specific to certain jobs they might occur one day and not the other day.
Cannot stop memory monitor thread: <RWThreadImp::terminate - No thread is active within the runnable>.
I know looking at the release notes this issue was fixed in 3.0 (12.0.0), we are using 3.2 (12.2.0) and having the same issues. The job server is on a linux 64 bit. I have not seen this issue in any of our windows job server. Is this bug specific to linux or is there a resolution for this.

As can be seen in the KBA 1455412 this is a known behavior.
"As a result of fixing the problem identified in ADAPT 00890818 in release 12.0.0.0, this message is displayed by design. If there is really a problem in stopping the memory monitor thread an exception is thrown and an error message is logged.
Background:
In the memory monitor's shutdown logic, once it tells the monitor thread to shutdown it waits for the thread to terminate but only for 10 seconds. It could be that at this same time the wait expired when the thread actually terminates. So when this happens in the shutdown logic we force terminate the thread. Since there is no active thread anymore the terminate call throws an exception and then we catch it and then throws the error for the job."
You can just ignore this warning.

Cannot stop Adobe Message coming up

I keep getting a message coming up on my screen from Adobe Flash Player and I cannot stop it !
The message is as follows:
A website wants to open web content using this program on your computer.
This program will open outside of protected mode. Internet Exporer protected mode helps protect your computer.

It doesn't matter whether I press yes allow or do not allow - it still keeps coming up - I have had this problem for a few weeks now and I have run my Anti Virus software and Malware etc, but to no joy - it still keeps coming up.
I don't think that it is coming from yourselves - I think it is a virus?
My operating system is Windows 7 64 bit
And I use Internet Explorer
Can anyone please help me get rid of it?

Hi - thanks for your reply. I looked at my 'protected mode' to see if it was enabled in IE's Internet Options and it was already 'checked'
I have been trying to post my screenshot by clicking the camera icon in this toolbar, but when I browse my documents and click on insert image - a message comes up saying 'the content type of this image is not allowed' !
It is a WordDoc2007 (*docx) or a .wps extension which is a Microsoft Works document and no matter which image I try to 'insert' - the message is still the same.
I am desperate now because no matter what website I go on - your message comes up - and everytime the website is loading it comes up quite a few times when a page is loading. Even while I've been doing this reply to you - everytime I click on a link to take me somewhere on the site - it comes up!
Perhaps if I can send you the screenshot by email - it may work? At least then you would be able to see the screenshot?
I have just thought about sending you the screenshot as a picture, but I don't have 'Paint' - any ideas would be appreciated.

STOPPED JOBS with expdp and dbms_scheduler

Hello.
I am working with the 10g release 2 in a RAC enviroment, and i am trying to put an export job at the scheduler.
To launch the export i have make a shell script, then first exec the export process and after launch a bzip2 command to compress the resultant dmp file.
The problem is that the export process finish ok, but it don't compress the file, because the scheduler mark the job as STOPPED.
The log say:
REASON="Stop job with force called by user: 'SYS'"
and the expdp S.O process that launch the extjobo stay runing for ever, like if it was waiting for the expdp to exit and it can`t so the script never arrive to the part that compress the file.
I put the script that i make to export the schema:

I have put several cd $DIRBACK to see if it fail because the script don`t find the dmp file.
Any idea why it STOP after finish the script ?

Hi,
A stop is only done in two cases - if the user calls dbms_scheduler.stop_job or if the database is shutdown while a job is running. Make sure the database is not being shutdown while the job is running or inside of the job.
If expdp is still running then this suggests that it is hanging. One possibility for that is that expdp is generating a lot of standard error messages and hanging the job (this is a known issue in 10gR2). You can try redirecting standard output and error to files to see if this helps.
e.g.
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/expdp > /tmp/output 2> /tmp/errors

I have tried to clear out the iMessage settings I had put in, and I've tried to adjust the Accounts to not include notes to synch. But, Notes will not stop. It opens a new note, and even if you ignore it, it assumes preference every 5 seconds, and the Mac is impossible to use.

Do you have any Boot Camp or other secondary partitions set up on your system? If so then try running a disk verification routine (chkdsk, etc.) in Windows to repair the disk. While I've not heard of it happening recently, in the past errors in these partitions have resulted in stubborn ghost files appearing in OS X.

The first two problems (box cycling from element to element on page, scroll bar returning to top) can be caused by a stuck (or defective) Tab key on the keyboard. Such damage can be caused by a liquid spill; just one tiny droplet is enough to short a wafer switch under one key.
The last issue (black box, white text - sounds sorta like a debugger window) I haven't seen, but could be caused by something similar.
To check for that, try using a different keyboard. If you're using a wireless keyboard, turn it off and see if the oddities stop.

Installed Intrigated Gmail and right after that everytime I open firefox I get a siren noise that will not stop. I uninstalled firefox and reinstalled with no add ons they where all uninstalled and I still get the siren. If I cannot stop it i will be forced to use a different browser.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js [2] and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

Cannot Kill Job, REP-56098:

I have tried running a jsp with a customize.xml file to modify my data source using servlet.
First I got an error saying there was a syntax error in my where clause. I fixed the error in my ml then tried to run the report again. It seems report server is hung.
I am unsuccessful in killing the job through Enterpise Manager and also using killjobid
This is the error I am getting:
Cannot Kill Job with Job ID 181REP-56098: Bad engine name: null
Is there anyway to kill this job outside of EM?
Using 9.0.2 9iAS
Any help is appreciated.

SMW2 - Inbound , need to set STOP jobs to automatically delete

We set the system to receive data from ECC 6.0 system to SRM to inbound queue (SMQ2). There was specific data that we needed for processing and the other set to STOP in SMQ2. The ones that are in the QUEUE are holding back the the active one. We have to delete the STOP jobs to for the active one to process. Is there a way of setting a schedule for STOP job to automatically delete

usually a queue is stopped , if there is any problem.
You need to resolve the problem in the queue , and then once that is resolved... ,following queues will go through.
how ever it is not possible to automatially remove the stop queues , unless you have custom program to remove the stopped entries...

Cannot stop playlist shuffling

I cannot stop songs in a playlist from shuffling. I have turned it off on and off again on pc and then updated iPod. Have turned it off on the iPod itself but although there is no shuffle icon showing the songs still randomly select and will not just follow the order 1, 2, 3 etc. What have I done wrong?

Is it skipping songs and not playing them? Like going from 1 of X to 4 of X? Or is the 4th song listed as 2 of X when playing it, for example.

Cannot stop looping

I'm have imported a 30 second clip for the menu screen but I cannot stop it looping after only 10 seconds of play. Menu Info only acknowledges the first 10 seconds of the clip.
Perhaps I'm missing something very obvious....

Kinda solved!
I put a 30 second silent sound file which adjusted the movie length to 30 seconds.
An odd workaround for an odd problem.
Still, why didn't it adjust to the movie clip length????
