Canon hv 20 compatability

Does anyone know how to get FCE to recognize new Canon hv 20?

I have an HV20, and I'm using FCE 3.5.1. I'll share the workflow that works for me.
1. Run Easy Setup for the format you recorded in (e.g. DV-NTSC, HDV 10801/60, etc.).
2. Quit FCE.
3. Connect HV20 via FireWire.
4. Set HV20 to play and rewind as necessary to the point you want to begin capture.
5. Open FCE and run Capture.
I'm new to FCE, and still learning myself. Others may have different, more efficient ways to do this.

  • Canon G7X RAW compatibility

Is Adobe working on incorporating Canon G7X RAW compatibility into Camera RAW 8?

The only answer you will get is, probably. Adobe doesn't make those kinds of announcements in advance. Since support has been added for every other Canon camera that shoots raw images, I see no reason why this model would not be supported. It isn't listed as one of the newly supported cameras in that Camera Raw 8.7 release candidate. But that doesn't mean that it couldn't be added to the final release. This is one of those wait-and-see situations.

  • Windows 7 64 bit canon rebel xti compatibility issue

I am having trouble to get my canon rebel xti (400D) to work under windows 7 64 bit. You see the canon camera icon in the devices and printers window with a yellow triangle indicating it's not working properly. Did anyone have the same issue and even got an answer to it?
    Thanks.

I believe I have a solution for you and any other XTi owners who don't have the "Print/PTP" option in their menu.  I was able to get my XTi to function with Windows 7 64-bit last night.  Here is what I did:
    1) Installed the default Canon utilities disk that came with the camera (which installed without an issue, but wouldn't recognize the camera).
    2) I downloaded the updated EOS Utility version 2.6.1 for Windows Vista x64 from here:http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=314&modelid=14256
    3) I installed the default Canon utilities disk that came with the camera (which installed and opened without an issue, but wouldn't recognize the camera to download pictures).
    4) I executed the 2.6.1 EOS Utility update that I downloaded and received the following error: "Installation program of EOS Utility requires administrator priveleges" even though it was being run as an administrator.  Any compatibility options that I selected on the installation resulted in the same error.
    5) When you receive the error mentioned in the prior step, DON'T click the "OK" button.  First, navigate to the follwing path: "C:\Users\admin-user\AppData\Local\Temp\".  Inside this directory, you should see a directory named something like "CanonUPW_000".  Copy this whole directory to another location, then click "OK" on the installation program error on the screen (which removes the directory you just copied).
    6) Open the directory that you copied in the last step and navigate to the following location: ".\CanonUPW_000\INST\INSTALL\COMMON".  You should find an "Install.exe" file in this directory.
    7) Open the properties of this "Install.exe" file, then select the "Compatibility" tab.
    8) Select the "Change settings for all users" button and select the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 3).
    9) Under the "Privilege Level" section, select the "Run this program as an administrator", then click OK twice.
    10) Execute the "Install.exe" file.  The installation should start and finish succeffully.
    11) The EOS Utility should successfully open after you execute it (following the installation).
    12) The only thing that doesn't work exactly the same as with using EOS Utility with XP.  When you plug your camera in, the program doesn't automatically open.  After opening the EOS Utility, you can connect the camera and download pictures, or utilize the software's remote control function.
I hope this works as well for you as it did for me.

  • Canon pixma mx922 compatibility issues with Mavericks?

Thinking of getting canon pixma mx922. Any body had compatibility issues with Mavericks?

Go to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669 for a list of printers that are still supported.
If you don't see the printer, check Printer software no longer available through Software Update.

  • Canon Vixia M500 Compatability

Is anyone using the Canon Vixia M500 with Final Cut Pro-X? I see that it is not on the compatability list.
    Many thanks.

A friend of mine has the M300 that I've worked with a few times. Seems to work just fine in FCPX. I imported media from an Archive (same file structure as what's on the camera.) So if you import directly from the camera (and transcode for optimized and optionally proxy upon import) you should be fine.
PS - Apple is improving compatibilities all the time; not all cameras are on the list. Mine aren't, and in the beginning, I had to transcode 1080 footage in another app first (720/60p imported without issue). Now, FCPX imports the files just fine.

  • Canon GL-2 compatability with I Movie?

Hi. I am looking into the Canon GL-2 for use with imovie and FCE. Does anyone have experience with this? Any advice would be great. I am filming sit down interviews in people's homes.

    Hi SJ:
Being Karsten's personal translator, please let me be of assistance...;))
First, "beats of a camera"...yes-that's a good thing.
Secondly, the daisy chain thing has to do with an older Apple Article that warned against it in conjunction with certain Canon models:
Macintosh: FireWire Issue With Some Canon Mini-DV Cameras
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61603
Not necessarily going to affect you-he was just touching all bases.
    Hope that helps!
    Sue
    ...that OK with you, Karsten?

  • Canon Mark III Compatibility

I'll be receiving the Canon 1D Mark III this coming Monday. Is LR 1.0 ready to process the Mark III files or will I need an upgrade? I've already installed Camera Raw 4.1 for Photoshop, does that have any impact on LR?
    Thanks,
    David

Not sure if anyone is still having this issue. I was, and searched forever. Finally found there is a Camera Raw 4.1 upgrade!! Yes - same file name, same version number, but a newer file (can see increased version number in file info). This is for the Mac, but there is one for Windows platform too.

And yes, it now works like a charm!

  • Canon HF 200 Compatibility

Am trying to determine if FCE 4 on Intel iMac will load video directly from the Canon HF 200 without need for rerendering.
Bulletin boards seem unclear on this.
    Anyone know for sure?
The Canon HF 200 uses a flash card for storage.
FCE does not list this camera as compatible, but does list other Canon flash card camcorders.
Thanks in advance for any input.

I'm trying to use log and transfer function for the first time to get footage from a Canon HF200 camera. I've got an Intel-based MacBook Pro, upgraded to FCE 4, and all the clips shows up in the log and transfer window. But when I try to add a clip to the queue it thinks for a few seconds, then gives me a red stop sign and exclamation point. When I hover my mouse over it it says "Error: no data".
Any ideas on the best way to troubleshoot this?

  • Canon HV 20 Compatibility

I have two days to decide whether to keep or ship back the Canon HV 20 High Definition video camcorder I bought from B&H Photo/Video last week. The camera has passed every test except that I CAN NOT get it to work with FCE HD. Am I doing something wrong or is this camcorder simply not compatible with FCE for some bizarre reason?
In easy set up, are there really only 3 HDV setups to choose from, or did I perhaps do something wrong at installation and I need to reinstall FCE HD again?
    Any insights would be appreciated.
    DharmaMac

Have used HV20 for about a month now and here is what I have found so far.
The bottom line is that there is no problem with HV20, shooting, importing, editing or otherwise...you just have to follow the "rules" and since HD is so new to most of us it is easy to mess up.
You cannot have two firewire devices hooked up at the same time and use HV20 (or any number of other Canon cameras). That means on my MacBook I can't use external drive while I import from camera. Importing to internal drive is no problem. I have 1gb of ram in MacBook C2D and standard 5400 rpm drive and it almost always imports in real time. There is no audio while importing HD but you can always use camera speaker to monitor. Using a firewire hub or firewire express card makes no difference to the only one firewire device rule.
My MacBook Pro only has 512 gb RAM and only imports at 1/2 to 3/4 of real time, so it appears RAM is an important component as well as the core 2 duo vs just core duo. Both drives are 5400 so that doesn't seem to be a major issue. I would suggest that anything slower than MacBook 2ghz core 2 duo with minimum 1 gb of ram is just not suitable for comfortable HD importing and editing. Probably can be done but it would be like crossing Atlantic in a rowboat.
    My workflow is as follows:
Connect HV20 to MacBook C2D via firewire and import using iMovie ( I use iMovie here because FCE capture doesn't allow you as much control of clip import)
Unplug HV20, connect external firewire drive, open FCE and import iMovie project. This gives nice individual clips in browser and you are ready to edit. Keep FCE project file on internal drive and media files on external drive. You can now send original iMovie project to trash and recover internal hard drive space.
    Works for me.

  • Canon Legria HF20 - Compatibility with iMovie

I have just ordered a Canon Legria HF20 camcorder. However, I have a concern.
I just checked Apple's offical list of iMovie 09 compatible camcorders, and the PAL version isn't listed as a compatible camcorder. However, the NTSC version is, which is called the Cannon Vixia HF20. I am not sure if the reason why the PAL version isn't listed is just because they haven't got around to testing it.
Can anyone confirm whether the HF20 works with iMovie? Am I safe to assume that if the NTSC version is compatible, then the PAL version will also be compatible

  • Canon EOS T4i compatibility check

    Hello,
This table :http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/tethered-camera-support-lightroom-4.html  shows the Canon EOS T3i and T5i as compatible with Lightroom. However the T4i, which is almost identical to the T5i, is not listed. Is this correct or a typo? If correct, does anyone know why?
    Thanks.
    Bret

It does appear to be an oversight.  It likely already works, but official testing may have been overlooked.  I've flagged it up for the team to check, but you can go ahead and give it a shot in the meantime.

  • Canon HG 10 Compatibility

I'm considering the purchase of a Canon HG 10 camcorder, but I'm concerned whether, with my hardware, I'll be able to edit using FCP or even iMovie. I'd appreciate any comments or suggestions.

It spits it out to AIC 1080i regardless if I have 720p checked or not.
From the couple clips I've tested in my timeline, it plays nice and outputs fine to DVD (16x9 default settings upper field).
However, I have a little over 7 gigs of MTS files to transcode. It's been roughly 20 hours so far of straight encoding, and only close to half of my files have been transcoded. Just prepare yourself, it's gonna take a long time.

  • Canon MG6320/Mavericks compatibility?

I am considering a Canon PIXMA MG6320 to go with my new MacBook Pro.  Any concerns or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello paulmartinjr,
The PIXMA MG6320 is compatible with MAC OS X Maverick operating system, the updated drivers can be found HERE. This multifunction printer would make a great choice with the following features including: AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, Print from Email and Mobile printing capabilities.

  • Canon Powershot S110 Compatibility?

Just got a Canon Powershopt S110 to keep in my pocket when DSLR too big.  It generates RAW CR2 images but looks like its out ahead of LR.  Any idea when Lightroom may be able to read these?

I'm having the same issue. Just purchased an upgrade to Lightroom 4, hoping that would solve my issue, but to no avail.
Is there an ETA on when Adobe will release support for the RAW format on Canon S110?
    Thanks
