Cant conect "sys as sysdba" from remote

Hi all ,
A strange thing happening with me ..
my database is on ip(prod1) and client is ip(Host)
When I make connecttion from prod1 as follows :
sqlplus sys@prod1 as sysdba
connected ...
Its giving me sys connection .
But from IP (remote HOst client )
when i fire
sqlplus sys@prod1 as sysdba
LOGON denied ...
But from IP(remote Host client )when i firng
sqlplus scott/tiger@prod1
connected ....
1.i m typing crrect password
2. my remote_login_passwordfile = EXCLUSIVE

1. Are you connecting to the right database ?
On you remote client:
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/tnsping prod1 and make sure that it'is resolving to the right service.
2. Try to connect via EZCONNECT (NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH should contain ezconnect value):
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/sqlplus sys@hostname:port/service as sysdba
On your server
3. Check your $TNS_ADMIN/sqlnet.ora Make sure there is no such a line as
tcp.validnode_checking = yes
If so, make sure that your remote client is a part of tcp.invited_nodes

  • Connecting as SYSDBA from Remote Machine

    Hello,
    I've installed Oracle8.6.1 on Linux6.2,& i've installed DBA studio on one my windows'NT machine.
    When i want to connect as SYSDBA from DBA Studio & Username/Password as system/manager it says --
    ORA-01031 Insufficient Privileges
    but i'can connect as SYSOPER & Normal.
    Do anyone know how to solve this problem???
    null

    1. use orapwd command-line utility to create a new password file.
    2. set remote_login_passwordfile = exclusive in initxxx.ora file.
    3. restart instance.
    4. use sql*plus or svrmgrl to grant sysdba right to the schemas you want to be able to logon with sysdba rights.

  • Login as SYSDBA from forms 6i

    Hi,
    I am using oracle 10g r2 and forms 6i(patch 25). When i tried to logon as SYS as SYSDBA from form, the following error raised "Insufficient previlege". the OS user is in oradba group and i tried creating password file, but still the problem persists. Is there any solution to solve this issue.
    Muruganandhan

    I seem to remember that maybe you need to create an oradba entry of some kind in your local windows registry under your appropriate oracle home key.
    Sorry, can't quite bring more than that to mind right now.

  • Is possible to connect db with sys/sys as sysdba in SQLPLUS utility

    Hi all,
    I'm using windows 2000 with oracle 10.1.0
    I have to connect server through SQLPLUS utility. I can able to connect system/manager@instance_name
    From system user, i cant able to query >archive log list; .Im getting error as permission denaid.
    is any possbilities there to login as super user(sys/sys as sysdba) in SQLLUS utility.
    Thanks

    connect sys/sys@instance_name as sysdbaUses password file in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs, connecting through SQL*NET
    connect sys/sys as sysdbaUses the BEQ protocol to connect to the database process directly and uses OS authentication, meaning your can use whatever username or password, it does not matter, same as connect / as sysdba - It will always connect to the SYS schema regardless. For this to work, your account needs to be in the SYSDBA group. (DBA - Linux, OSDBA - Windows).
    See the oracle standard documentation for creating a password file under Windows.
    When you have created the passwd file, you can reset the password using
    sqlplus / as sysdba
    alter user sys identified by 'password' ;

  • Dbms_streams_auth.grant_admin_privilege sys as sysdba privilege ?

    When I execute dbms_streams_auth.grant_admin_privilege procedure as a user granted the DBA role. I get the following error:
    ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_STREAMS_AUTH", line 1211
    ORA-06512: at line 2
    I can only execute this command with the sys as sysdba on the oracle host. Not as system user from an external machine.
    anyone know which privilege that sys user has that system doesnt ? I have tried all the execute privileges, but its not working.
    Svein

    Hello
    The basic reason why this can not be done with the SYSTEM user is that SYSTEM does not have all the privileges granted with GRANT OPTION. Now if you would like to make system to perform this, please follow the below:
    connect / as sysdba
    create directory tmp_dir as '/tmp';
    --i assume strmadmin user exists already
    begin
    dbms_streams_auth.grant_admin_privilege
    grantee=>'SYSTEM',
    grant_privileges=>false,
    file_name=>'strm_privs.sql',
    directory_name=>'tmp_dir'
    end;
    Now edit the file 'strm_privs.sql' and modify all the grant statements and add WITH GRANT OPTION clause. Execute this file from SYS so that SYSTEM gets all the required privileges. Now you should be able to perform this from SYSTEM itself.
    I have not tested this and verified. Still I doubt the last statement in the file will still fail and you need this to execute from SYS:
    BEGIN
         dbms_streams_auth.grant_remote_admin_access('strmadmin');
    END;
    Thanks,
    Rijesh

  • How to get the entire database from remote server to my server

    Hi,
    I am running a web application with sample data. Now i need to access the original data through this application. But the original data is located in the other server which is located in Mumbai.
    Now i need the copy of that database to my system(Chennai). with minimum effort.
    It is very urgent...
    Thanks in advance...
    Chaitanya.

    Hi
    Nicolas is right. You can also take advantage of exp/imp utility. That would not only get the entire db in one file but also the size will be a fraction of the entire db size.You can search for DataPump (that uses expdp and impdp) utility to expedite the export/import process.
    For simple exp/imp you can do the following.
    From Remote site(MUMBAI) issue
    ORACLE_HOME\BIN\exp file=c:\fulldbexp09sept05.dmp log=c:\fulldbexp09sept05log.log FULL=Y userid=system/pwd@connectstringOfyourdb
    Get a copy of fulldbexp09sept05.dmp and place it on your local drive in Chennai
    On Local Site (Chennai)
    ORACLE_HOME\BIN\imp file=fulldbexp09sept05.dmp log=fulldbimp09sept05 FULL=Y userid=system/pwd@connectstringOfyourlocaldb
    By this you can take advantage of having a different db name on remote and local sites. This is a fairly easy exercise. You just need to be sure that in your TNSNAMES.ORA you have correctly defined the connectString for your db.
    PS: Create a database on local server with default settings.
    Make use of following to create appropriate tablespaces and users if you desire ie.
    1. On Remote Site open SQLPLUS session and issue this command to find out the tablespaces, datafiles and their sizes
    SQL>SELECT SUBSTR(file_name,1,60) FILE_NAME, tablespace_name, bytes
    FROM dba_data_files
    GROUP BY tablespace_name, file_name;
    Now create the tablespaces on local sites using the result of the above query.
    2. On Remote Site open SQLPLUS session and issue this command to spool user creation script.
    SQL>spool c:\createuserscript.lst
    SQL> SELECT 'CREATE USER ||' IDENTIFIED BY VALUES '||'"'||PASSWORD||'"'||' DEFAULT TABLESPACE '||DEFAULT_TABLESPACE||' TEMPORARY TABLESPACE '||TEMPORARY_TABLESPACE||';'
    FROM dba_users
    WHERE username NOT IN ('SYS','SYSTEM')
    ORDER BY username;
    SQL>spool off
    Now edit this createuserscript using any editor and replace " with '. Copy this file to the local server and run it using @. This will create appropriate users.
    Let me know if you have any problems.
    Regards
    Adnan Mashhadi
    Nicolas I am not sure as how to eliminate the " in my script. Any comment will be appreciated.

  • Difference between /as sysdba and sys /as sysdba

    Hi,
    What is the difference between logging to an oracle dba as
    1. sys /as sysdba ->asking for password of sys user
    2. /as sysdba -> Logging into the database without asking password.
    Also pl explain me the difference between OS authentication and Password Authentication.
    Regards,
    Jibu

    Dear Jibu,
    An administrative users belongs to the "dba" group on Unix, or the "ORA_DBA" (ORA_sid_DBA) group on Windows, he/she has the Admin OS writes, so its allows to connect without password.
    connect / as sysdba ('/') is treated as root user and he will login without asking for password.
    Its simple as, when you logged in as Root user and you want to log to some another user, simply you have to give su abc command, it will get login as abc without asking for password.
    Remove root user from DBA group, then try to connect by passing connect / as sysdba, this time it will ask for password.

  • Executing powershell script from remote computer using RSAT

    Hi.
    I want to execute powershell script on AD server from remote computer (in the same domain). I installed and tested RSAT - it is working fine. But i cant execute PS from c# code.

    ps.Invoke();
    ps.Commands.AddCommand("Get-ADOrganizationalUnit -Filter 'Name -like \"*\"'");

    Hi
    CapitanPlanet
    For the
    CommandNotFoundException, it means the command cannot be found.
    On the other hand, your issue is about the PowerShell, if you still have the issue, I suggest that you should post it in the

    Here are some useful information, please check

    Hi,
    Try to check the followings please:
    Check the enabled network protocols on teh SQL Server by using SQL Server Configuration Manager. Make sure the preferred protocol (TCP/IP) is enabled)
    Make sure the client computer has the preferred network protocol enabled by using cliconfg.exe (both 32 and 64 bit)
    If you are using naed instance and dynamic port, make sure SQL Browser Service enabled.
    Make sure the firewall allows the port you are using on both client and SQL Server.
    I hope it helps.

  • The WSDL data cannot be retrieve from remote site

    I am a new guy learning web services with NetBeans 5.5 and meet some problem in retrieving wsdl data from remote site.
    I create a web service "WSTestServer" at Sun Application Server PE8.2 with real IP, say 111.110.11.10:8888, and there's a class "TestWS" with a method "getWS" to return a String. The server (or machine) name is ultra20. So, by following steps in NetBeans, I can get a wsdl file after generating the web service and it can be viewed at
    http://111.110.11.10:8888/WSTestServer/TestWS?WSDL
    Then, I create a web service client at the same machine, it is available to test this method by clicking Web Service Reference item in NetBeans and select "getWS" method to get that String.
    However, when I create a web service client at remote site, it doesn't work and show exception message like
    cannot find domain http://ultra20:8888/WSTestServer/TestWS....
    I go back to check wsdl file, at the last line, it prints like
    <soap:address location="http://ultra20:8888/WSTestServer/TestWS".....
    If I test this case in LAN, e.g., the server IP becomes 192.168.1.2 and client IP is 192.168.1.3, then it works since machine name can be recognized within the same local area network. I try to revise the wsdl file above to replace machine name as real IP, but it is automatically changed back with machine name while deploying and copy the revised one as xxx.wsdl__orig.
    Should I do additional configuration setup for server site? Such as, registering a domain name like aaa.bbb.edu instead of 111.110.11.10?
    Any comment and help for this subject is appreciated!!
    Thank you so much!

    Works as designed,from documentation:
    The database also retrieves all triggers and constraints defined on the table except for referential integrity constraints that reference other tables.
    The retrieved indexes, triggers, and constraints have recycle bin names. Therefore it is advisable to query the USER_RECYCLEBIN view before issuing a FLASHBACK TABLE ... TO BEFORE DROP statement so that you can rename the retrieved triggers and constraints to more usable names.
    For details see the FLASHBACK TABLE command description for your unknown database version.

  • Unable to allow traffic from remote office - Cisco RV220W

    Hi there,
    I have just bought the RV220W Cisco router firewall because my DLINK-1600 got broken and now I am unable to allow access to the machines located behind this router from the machines located at a remote office. Any help would be much appreciated!!
    This is the situation:
    1. Two remote offices A and B connected by a VPN tunnel (this connection is managed by an external provider and it is properly functioning)
    2. IP range A office: 192.168.236.0/24
    3. IP range B office: 192.168.237.0/24
    4. Office A: CISCO RV220W router/firewall (the one that I´ve just bought as the old dlink has broken). This RV220W is connected to a cisco router (managed by provider) that is the one with the VPN tunnel to the other office. The CISCO router does not do NAT. On the other end (Office B) there is another CISCO router managed by the provider.
    5. Everything was working smoothly until our old router/firewall got broken and that is when I bought the rv220w. I have set up the CISCO RV220W at office A and the machines can ping the machines located at office B and can browse the internet, i.e., the traffic going out is OK and in that sense everything works smoothly.
    6. The problem is that the machines located at office B cannot access the machines located behind the CISCO RV220W and I know it is a problem of the firewall as if I capture traffic coming from office B, I can see that it is dropped by the CISCO RV220W.
    7. I have tried to enable an access rule in the firewall to allow traffic from office B (see picture below) but it does not seem to work. In the field, Send to Local Server (DNAT IP) I have entered the WAN IP of my router (you cannot leave it blank) … this rule does not work at all. I think that is not properly configured but I don´t know how to do it.
    8. As you see, the problem is that I don´t know how to set up a rule to allow specific traffic coming from the WAN (traffic from remote office – 192.168.237.0/24) to the LAN at office A - 192.168.236.0/24.
    In the old router/firewall I just had to create a rule specifying the source interface (WAN) and network (Office B) and the destination interdace (LANOfficeA) and network (Office A). It does not seem that here I can do the same. i mean, you always have to point to a server ip inside the LAN??
    I know it has to be a very easy thing to do but at this moment I am completely stuck. If anyone can give me some advice would be great.
    Thanks a lot for your help in advanced!
    Eva

    Hi Eva, the default inbound policy cannot be changed. It will block all inbound traffic. To my knowledge there is not a way around this. Access rules are the only way to 'poke' a hole through the firewall but as you note, it is for a specific host. Values such as .0 and .255 do not work.

  • Report is not getting data from Remote cube thru Multi Provider

    Hi SAPians
    I ve strucked up with a Problem in The Reconciliation Report in BW3.5
    The Report was built on a Multi Provider, which was created on Basic and Remote Cubes .
    Both cubes have same Data Source and all the Objects were in Active version and found good.
    When I m executing the Report ,I m only getting the data from the Basic cube and no data is coming from Remote Cube.
    I ve checked the char " 0Infoprov " in Multi Provider and It was assigned with the both the cubes.
    What might be the problem
    Please help me in this regard
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Arjun

    Hi
    In the Reconciliation multiprovider, include 0INFOPROVIDER = Remote cube.
    If data still not coming, you can be sure connectivity with Source system of the Remote cube is the issue
    Check with basis to solve the connectivity issue.
    Ensure Remote cube is consistent
