Cant get optonline email account to work

I'm using Microsoft Outlook 2003 on my laptop. Yes I upgraded to the latest firmware. I have also set up three other email accounts on my laptop, a verizon account and my two hosting accounts under two separate domain names, they all work. But when it comes to optonline, I can't get it to work. All settings are correct: name, incoming, outgoing, password. When I bypass the linksys, the email works fine. Any help please.
Email report:

try to do port forwarding/triggering on your router...maybe this would help...
Opening Ports on the Router

    I have been using a 9800 for ages with two separate email accounts; one is a work account and the other a personal Gmail account. I also back up my phone regularly to a computer
    I deleted the work accout for a holiday and, prior to re-installing it, found that I could temporaily disable the receipt of emails for a particular account by applying a filter. I recreated the work acount on my phone and, apart from being surprised that some of my old emails were still present, also tried to create a filter.
    I'm now in a position where no work emails are getting through to my phone despite deleting the filter I created and having gone through all of the settings on the phone. All the settings for the work account appear to be the same, where applicable, as for the Gmail account but only the latter is working. I've also restored the email settings only from a backup when everything was working OK.
    Any ideas please?

    Are you using a BlackBerry Enterprise Server to get your work email on yoru BlackBerry smartphone or do you have it setup using Outook Web Access, IMAP or POP?

  • How do I get my email accounts to work again on ipod

    Last night everything was fine. This morning I could not access, receive nor send emails from any of my 4 accounts on my ipod that were of course also on my pc. Nothing had changed on my end. Just error messages on the pod that"internet connection" or "server" connection etc. was not working. However, all on my pc, emails were fine.  I have tried all day with Apple support, nothing has worked and no response from Apple help. After following all their guidelines, I now have NO email service on my ipod. I did what they told me, deleted all accounts and tried to re-add, and same error message appears.."not recognized, check internet connection, etc..." I am furious...they worked fine a few hours ago...I did nothing! and now Apple is of no help...also, apps I installed thru Apple app on my ipod no longer work or open, nor can I open iTunes or the iTune store on my ipod...it broke too same as my emails.  my internet connection, itunes on my pc , emails etc is not broke...just the ipod and Apple doesn't care!!!!!!!  someone please help me!

  • I can,t get one email account to work in tiger after panther

    I have two email servers, AOL and Verizon. I wrote down the setting from panther and put them into Tiger. Aol is working fine but verizon does not. If I restart in Panther, verizon works. In tiger I get a message about port 25 timming out but I use the same port in Panther without issues. I went back and took snapshots of the Panther setting and put them in Tiger but still I can,t get verizon to work. I checked the firewall and it is the same setting as panther. I am at a complete loss, Googling would be in the blind so I don,t know.

    Is Verizon also your ISP? One possibility is MTU (maximum transmission unit), which may be getting set differently in the two versions of OSX. Test with lower values for MTU, and compare the System Preferences/Network settings in each version of OSX. See:

    One other thing to ask -- what character set and/or keyboard settings are you using? I ask because your post seems to use a comma, where an apostrophe would be expected?

    That would indicate an issue with the local network, not internet. This can impact devices differently and will likely be more obvious on a streaming only device.
    If you are on wifi try ethernet
    Make sure DNS is set to auto (settings - general - network)
    Go to istumbler, netstumbler or similar to get a report of the network, look for signal strength and noise.

    Try a Reset [Hold the Home (bottom centre) and Sleep/Wake (top right edge) buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe!

    Welcome to the Apple community.
    This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
    However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
    The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone".
    You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, verify it once again, delete the iCloud account from your device and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

    There is something wrong in your settings. As the settings for each email provider are different you need to check your email server's web site for instructions. Most now have specific instructions for the iPhone. Also see Apple's instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1385

    now i am really frustrated with it. Every single update has robbed me of battery power which began with about 8-10 hours of usage and now I am lucky if I get 2 hours. It isn't the battery.     There is nothing wrong with the OS update.
    Delete ALL your email accounts.
    Restart Playbook
    Put the accounts back and ensure they are all set with PUSH ON.  Manual (push off) will burn battery.
    Similarly delete your wifi connections and add back when required. 
    Turn off wifi is not connected to wifi. 
    Any "hunting for connection" in email or wifi will burn up battery.

    You should always keep a copy of everything onyour computer.  If you did not do this, then they are gone.

    That requires you to enter the configuration correctly.  You can find out the configuration for your email from your ISPs website in most cases. Or if you're using Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail you need only Google something like:
    "Gmail configuration for Apple Mail"  or  "Hotmail configuration for Apple Mail" (without the quotes). 
    That should get you started..

    Took my ipad to Apple store due to a software problem which was fixed by doing a reset. I then restored and backed up/sync'd my ipad in ITunes and iCloud. Now I can't get my gmail account to work on my iPad. It won't send or receive emails and I keep getting the message that my user name or password are incorrect, which I know they are not. The message is "the user name or password for imap.gmail.com is incorrect"...  I tried deleting and re-adding the account, powering down the iPad but to no avail.     Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
    Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • POP Email Account Not working after update to 1.1.1

    After I updated to 1.1.1, I noticed my email wasn't working quite right, so I did a complete restore, and in the process of setting everything back up, I can not get my personal pop email account to work. After creating a new account with the "Other" option, I enter all the correct information, and when I hit "save", I get this message: Secure Connection Failed, Certificate for "Personal" may be invalid.
    It then gives me the option to Cancel or Continue, but hitting continue just hangs. Any thoughts? It was working properly before the update, and my desktop client is still connecting and receiving emails, so nothing has changed on my ISP's end.

    Given that other posts mention two prompts: first that "certificate may be invalid" and second "would you like to connect without SSL?" (paraphrase), I decided to hit "continue" on the first dialog and see what happened in my case. After doing so, I was NOT prompted a second time, so it would SEEM that my SSL connection completed normally after all. For others in this circumstance who require/demand SSL, you may want to try continue on the first prompt to see if it just works.
    By all appearances, I still have a secure pipe to my email. It's a shame that this prompt and the results of "continue" aren't better at indicating what the actual issue is.
    Note that in my case, I'm probably prompted about the certificate because I don't have a globally-signed SSL cert. I am just using one that I created myself and imported into the Mac OS X keychain. This cert was sync'd beautifully (thank you Apple!) to my phone originally, and appears to still be working. A check of the mail prefs on the iphone still show both inbound/outbound mail to have SSL "on" so it doesn't appear to have been disabled by 1.1.1 or by my pressing "Continue".
    I believe that this 1.1.1 update was a deep enough update of the OS that it is merely warning me again (in an unfortunately cryptic way) that the certificate is not signed by global cert authorities. I think it did the same thing when I first set up the iPhone (1.0) but hasn't prompted me again like this on any updates since.

    I have my work email and personal email coming in to the same account under Mail. I am finding on weekends i am getting new email into my work account (nothing abnormal there) but worst i am reading and responding to them - i.e. should be enjoying the weekend not working but the self discipline is lacking and temptation to read them is just too much!
    i would like an automatic way to either exclude the work email being received during Sat / Sun or find a way (thought about script excuted from iCal) that could disable / enable work email Friday night / Monday morning. Either that or any configurable app that allows me similiar control over the accounts
    Any ideas on best ways to acheive.

    Sorry for clarification - i have two email accounts, both going into a single Mail under a single user login; ones a .Mac account, one's an IMAP account connecting to work.
    They already both go to individual mail boxes so i don't need to set up rules to split, the issue i am trying to get around is avoiding looking at new email that arrives in my work email box during the weekends.
    Please don't get me wrong, its an irritation i would like to avoid rather than a system critical issue so refinement being the objective purely with geek-hat on rather than desperate-user.
    Any thoughts on solving welcomed!
